I booked this because of the many good reviews and it definitely did not disappoint. You have the option of catching many edible fish or going deeper for big fish. Not only did we catch enough edible fish for several cookouts, we went deeper and I caught a huge red drum. Highly recommend and this was the most successful fishing charter I have ever been on (and he said it was a slow day!)

Captain Kevin and John gave us an outstanding experience. My son-in-law and my 7 year old grandson spent 4 fantastic hours catching fish. My grandson caught a Ribbonfish longer than himself, and hes 42! We brought lots of fillets home, had constant action, and my son-in-law caught a cobia, his first of his lifetime. I would recommend Kevin and his crew to everyone.

Captain Kevin and First Mate John worked very hard in difficult fishing conditions to find us some fish. They put us on some ribbon fish, and we caught half a dozen in quick succession. Then, they found the Red Drums. We hooked 3 at one time, and my teenage daughters loved the thrill of pulling in these monster fish.They made sure we were enjoying our time, and even went over our scheduled time to give us a chance to catch more Red Drums. We caught 6 total!Thank you Kevin and John, we will be back!

My wife and I had a fantastic day on the water with Captain Kevin and his First Mate Ken. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful throughout the whole experience. They made sure we caught a variety of fish moving locations and changing up tactics. We hope we can make it back out in the Afishinado soon.

Capt. Kevin and Jon were so nice, and the trip was a great fathers day present! Right off the bat we caught tons of ribbon fish and mackerol (which were supprisingly tasty beer battered and fried) They were very present all 4 hours of our charter, pointing out everything from pods of dolphins to hammerhead sharks. They were constantly engaging everyone and telling us what to look for in terms of finding fish that were a bit harder to catch!

I havent used Afishionado. But when our charter with someone else was canceled due to weather, they sourced us a charter with another boat. We wouldnt have been able to fish if they hadnt helped us. So big props to them hooking us up.

Excellent near shore fishing trip.Catching something is not guaranteed obviously, so I was most impressed by how hard the captain and the first mate worked to put us onto the fish.They were on it from the second we left Rudee Inlet, until we pulled back in. Their hard work resulted in my son reeling in an impressive red drum! An experience he will never forget, thanks again crew of the Afishinado!

My Friend and i had an amazing time fishing with Captain Kevin and first mate Ken! We went out at 8 am and Caption Kevin said that he bet we could out fish the other boats that where out fishing, and that we did! We caught 18 Spanish Mackerel and 2 Bluefish! I went out with a group of friends today to fish. with Captain Kevin and first mate John.They were both very cordial, friendly and considerate. They obviously know what they are doing and as a result we caught many fish, including mackerel, ribbon fish and cobia. Could have caught more but we opted not too. I would recommend that you hire them next time you want to charter a fishing trip!

Capt Kevin found the fish even in the early season! Caught plenty of Spanish mackerel and had a blast fighting the huge red drums we pulled in! Capt and his 1st mate were a wealth of knowledge and will do everything within reason to make your fishing trip memorable! It was awesome to go on the red drum chase and see their knowledge and passion in action, this is the perfect charter for 4-6 people! We will book again soon with Afishinado!

Great time on the water with a good catch of Spanish.

Capt. Kevin and Capt. Ken provided me and my 10yr old son with an absolutely amazing VA Beach fishing experience. They both know their stuff and will not only help, but educate along the way. We wanted to go fishing for Mackerel and shark and ended up with Mackerel and an 8.5ft sand tiger shark which we got amazing pictures of then let go. It was the highlight of our trip and when we go back, we will 100% book another charter with them. Maybe a different time of year to catch some other seasonal fish. Thank you again Captains!

We recently were fortunate enought o spend four hours fishing with Captain Kevin and First Mate John on the Afishinado in Virginia Beach. It was a great time for the whole family, from 65 year old me to my 6 and 7 year old grandkids.We caught FIVE Bull Red Drums, each of which were over 46 inches long. Wow could those fish fight. A great time was had by all and I highly reccomend them to anyone looking to catch some great Fish, as Kevin and Hohn really know how to find them.

My sister and I went out on a beautiful October afternoon and fished for our three hours. I was wanting to do out shore deep sea fishing but Cpt. Kevin said it was too windy so we being totally cool with that just enjoyed our time fishing the inlet. I had the privilege of fishing with Captain Kevin and Ken at the end of August, 2019. My son was 8 and all he had been talking about was shark fishing all summer long. While I wasnt sure the shark part was going to happen I was sure about giving him the opportunity to fish. These guys went above and beyond to make all his dreams and my expectations a reality. These guys are great. Took my nine year old son out on his first ocean fishing trip with Captain Kevin and his crew. I have to say these guys went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Captain Kevin and his first mate never sat down during the whole trip. They were constantly locating fish and doing anything they could to get on them. We had a great day catching several Spanish Mackerel, Blues, and my son landed two sharks. They went out of their way to make him feel comfortable as they gave him instruction and took the time to answer any questions he had for them. At the end of the day he was all smiles and feeling very proud of himself. My experience was exceptionally great as well. I will definitely be seeing these guys again. They really make you feel welcome and theyre very down to earth guys who have a great knowledge and love for what they do. I would give 0 stars if I could. My family and I had an appointment for 7am on a Saturday. They call us the day before and try changing our fishing plans. That should have been our first hint that more was to come. They call us Saturday morning and cancel due to weather. Last I checked, people fish in the rain. We called other charters and they were all out fishing but we got cancelled. The sad part is, it DID NOT rain until almost 5pm! Our trip was from 7am until 1pm. I’m sure we would have had fun but we will never know. So, if you want to get your plans changed then cancelled, pick this charter! (LOL)

My Dad took me fishing for my birthday and it was the best birthday present l have ever had. I even caught a great big shark along with a bunch of other fish too The guys running the boat were cool too. Cant wait til my dad takes me again.

Great experience. Caught our limit of spade fish in two hours, the trolled for a while and caught a few mackerel. Kevin and Ken were very nice. Thanks to Larry and Arnold for sharing their trip with us. This was my first time ocean fishing and it wont be the last!

Great experience. We visited on a Monday afternoon when the current was a little more aggressive than usual. We trolled around the bay for about 20 minutes before the crew decided wed be better off casting lines offshore. We went to one of their tried and true spots about 10 miles out and caught 18 spade fish in about 2.5 hours. The only limiting factor was that we ran out of bait! Kevin even filleted our catch for us at no extra charge.Id recommend this trip to anyone, it was a great way to spend a day off. And if you catch a bunch of fish, head over to OBriens and theyll cook it up for you. It was delicious.

Caught 8 red drums. Hauled some.blue fish for etables. If youre a sport fisherman these guys were predators. The rest of the boats in the fleet of commercial caught nothing. Ill be getting a plaque in January. Ill.be back, for sure.

Afishinado Charters in Virginia Beach were able to fit us in last minute after our other charter was canceled. They were very hands on while also allowing us to do the work. They knew where and how to fish and allowed us to choose what kind of fish we wanted to catch. We caught plenty of Spanish Mackerel to take home, one being a citation fish, and a 7ft sand tiger shark! Kevin called me the day before our trip which I had booked months in advance, at 5 oclock in the evening, to tell me there werent enough people to go. I understand you need a profit but when the trip has been booked for months there shouldnt be any cancelations the day before with no time left to find another charter. We had been waiting for this for months and this was quite a let down. Very unprofessional to not even give a days notice also.Also since you commented! This was not due to the weather, as I called back later while I was scrambling looking for another boat late that evening, and Kevin thought I was another two people. he was already to call back and get the trip going again. Nothing worse than a liar.

My son and I spent the day on the Afishinado the we caught lots of Spanish mackerel, blue fish, and a couple different species of shark the captain and mate are first class, they know business. We cant wait to book another one with them

UPDATE!!!Just returned from fishing trip #2 with Captain Kev, and this one was even better. Caught 2 3ft sharpnose sharks and buckets of mackerel and several bluefish. Had a lot of fun. Kevin and Ken are great to fish with. They know where the fish are, how to hookm and how to boatm, and are a pleasure to share a boat with. Very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.Great 1/2 day with Kevin and Ken. Caught a shark. They both worked really hard to get us to where the fish were biting and to show me and my son - who had never fished before - a good time. Afterward, Kevin cleaned the fish which we enjoyed on the grill. Looking forward to next summer!!
