I took the car to change the power steering hose and ended up paying more than $800 to put a hose !! This is abusive !! More than $500 in Labor for putting up a hose? It is not the first time that they overcharge for a simple service. Never Again!! Im from New York and I always took my car to Midas and the service and prices there were always excellent. I was wrong to think it would be the same in Virginia Beach
Superior service, knowledge and skills of the technicians, especially the welder. After bringing my old 98 Lexus in for major exhaust issue which was louder than any racecar. Form quote to the completion of the service was amazing. They were Upfront about the what the issue was and repair process. Now the car run quieter than when I got it.So stop looking for place based on the cheapest price to do repairs or general maintenance, look at the skill and outstanding customer service and go to this Midas located in Virginia Beach.
Dont go there !!!! Went there for a simple brake pad replacement and the joker stripped one of my studs and had the audacity to tell someone put the lug nut on to tight!!!

In October I got an oil change at this particular Midas. When I went to get my inspection at Firestone a few days before I go back to Midas they tell me I have an oil leak. When I go to Midas and they tell me there are two oil leaks one if which is caused by the filter seal that gets changed with the oil change(Midas guys words). Then the guy proceeds to say that was six months ago and kept saying that. So what I’m hearing is the oil changed that I got here caused my problem.Why should I pay for a problem that you guys caused. It doesn’t matter that it was six months ago it’s still the fact that the oil that I got here, paid for, and did what I was supposed to do caused the problem.

Stopped here to call and check with my insurance if I was at the right location. A extremely rude worker told me to leave the property and get away from his car (which I was 2 spaces away from). Could have been an extremely intense altercation had I not walked away. It seemed the employee was looking for problems for no reason. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION!
I went in for my annual state safety inspection and was rejected due to surface rust on the rear rotors.They tried to sell me new rotors and brake pads for around $400...Heres my issue:I asked if they can take a feeler gauge to measure the distance between the pads and rotors.Answer was, what is a feeler gauge.... SMHI said ok.....Do the rotors have enough meat and are they within limits? Answer was YES.I then asked, do the pads have enough meat and are they within limits? Answer was YES.I then asked, is it possible for surface rust to be present on the rotors when the vehicle is not driven often? Answer was YES.I then asked, so in your professional opinion, what could cause this issue? Their answer pretty much went around my question back to the sale of new rotors and brakes. SMH again.....So after a rejection sticker and $20, I went down the street to another place. I showed them why my car was rejected and they laughed... Of course if youre going to Midas for an inspection, theyre going to try to sell you new brakes and rotors.... SMH again.....After the second inspection, I was told that theres nothing wrong with my car and heres a brand new sticker.I wont upload the documentation here, but I have it for reference.Moral of the story::: If youre going to take your car to Midas for a safety inspection, be prepared to be told that you need new brakes and rotors....Dont believe me??? Read the reviews about safety inspections at this place and you be the judge.Thank you for reading.

I had concerns about my headlights flickering and my dash lights not working, I took it in for a reasonable price, but the problem had come back about a month later. They did lower the price because some things came up and they spoke with me and talked to the most extent of car knowledge we both could. Definitely like that the owner knows about vehicles. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the time to bring it back to be fixed. I would recommend these guys just make sure you Call ahead so you know the time you’ll be pulled in.
Dont ever bring your vehicle to Midas. They will try to rip you off. Today I brought my 2015 Ford Flex for a state inspection. I was there at 8am when they opened and 2nd in line for an inspection. It took a ridiculous 2+ hours to even get my vehicle in the bay to be looked at. Only 1 person ahead of me in the whole place. Finally the guy behind the desk tells me my rotors failed inspection and brake pads were borderline. They quoted $546 to do everything. This vehicle was purchased from a respectable dealership 1 year ago and was properly inspected in November 2018, nothing wrong with it and only had 33,000 miles on it when we purchased it. My husband and I knew there was no way the rotors could be that bad in one year. We only put an additional 6000 miles on it since we bought it last year. We decided to get a second opinion at a different location and just as we expected there were no issues with the rear rotors or rear brake pads. We will NEVER go back to Midas and we will tell as many people as possible to take your hard earned money elsewhere. THESE PEOPLE ARE COMPLETE CROOKS!!

Recently needed some additional work done on a very fast tracked schedule and the way they approached the work both from the technical aspect and the customer service aspect was exceptional. Jerry at the front desk has done a great job at accommodating our requests and providing great communication. Would be happy to recommend.

I love this Midas location!! I have been a steady customer for 6 years now. Brakes, tires, oil changes. and the What is that noise service calls.The team has never let me down nor have then down more work than was really needed!
I took my vehicle in for a few repairs. I told the mechanic what the problems were and he went to work. When he discovered what was causing the problems, he did a great job explaining to me what needed to be done. After that, Midas ordered the parts needed to fix my vehicle. As soon as the parts arrived the mechanic went to work. Unfortunately, shortly after beginning the work he discovered that the parts supplier had sent the wrong part, and it was too late in the day to have them send the correct part. That was a little disheartening because it was a Saturday and the store would be closed until Monday, which meant my vehicle would be in the shop until then. However, this was fine. One of the stores employees gave my wife and me a ride home. When I returned to the store on Monday as soon as the correct part arrived the mechanic went to work. After he had finished, he did an complimentary allignment because of the inconvenience the set back had caused. Overall, my experience was very positive. The work done on my vehicle was very well done, and the staff went above and beyond to provide a superior level of service.

I moved to Virginia Beach about 10 years ago, and needed a decent mechanic to take care of my car. We all know how tricky it can be to find someone who will not only do the work properly the first time, but also be professional and ensure that you as a customer understand what’s going on with your vehicle (and not make up bogus repairs that aren’t necessary). Not only are the people who work at Midas friendly and honest, but the owner himself, Mike, creates a personal relationship with every customer. He wants your car to be fixed properly so the next time you are in need of repairs you know where to find trustworthy mechanics at the ready. I’ve been a customer of this Midas for over seven years and I greatly appreciate the service received. Even when the excellent mechanics you know move on to bigger opportunities, Mike takes time to ensure all of his newly hired employees are up to par with the quality of service you know you’ll get at Midas. I recommend them to my family and friends, so I would most definitely recommend them to strangers out there trying to get some honest work done.
Excellent and friendly service. From the mechanics to the 2 young ladies who were working customer service, you could tell these were people who enjoyed what they did. I was extremely satisfied with the service I received today. When we called this morning my fiance was told an hour to an hour and a half wait for inspection. We went and were in and out within 45 minutes. I would recommend this location to everyone looking for honest reliable service.
Had a pretty awesome experience here. Ben and his team did an exceptional job on both my 04 Expedition and my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. Ive seen the past reviews here but since the management change, these guys are top notch. Trust is always my number 1 concern whenever I take my vehicles in for maintenance and these guys are off to a great start with that. Have been going to a local dealership with my Toyota for years and just wasnt happy. I am very thankful that my solution is a block away. My car sounds better than it has in a while. These guys are AWESOME!!! Came in for an oil change and asked them to look over the car to make sure everything was in working order (state inspection is coming up). They identified all areas of concern and what it would cost! Their personnel was flawlessly courteous to me (and my dog) and really made me feel like I had always been their customer! Went there to get promised oil Change and tire rotation for $39.00 + tax. Labor day special. Was told my bill would be $50.00 + tax.and got no tire rotation because the tread was one centimeter higher in the back and they did not rotate them. Will not go to this dishonest place again. Buyer beware.
Had a leak in my exhaust and these guys were able to fix it for about 1/4 of the cost the other shops were trying to charge me. They even let me look under the car to see the problem, which was nice because I know nothing about cars. I will definitely be returning to Midas for future repairs.
Definitely The Midas Touch! They are very thorough, but are not out to over charge or charge you for unnecessary repairs. I feel confident whenever I take my car in for service that it will be done right! They really care about their customers and they have superior Customer Service. I will never go anywhere else!

I have never went through something like this before so I want to warn others. My normal garage was booked so I stopped at Midas to have my state inspection done. I was quoted 2 1/2 hours, which I was prepared to deal with since I had come equipped with a book and my patience. When my car was done, I was informed that I had failed inspection due to my shocks being blown. I was then told it would be $660 to fix. I had never noticed any issues with my vehicle, so I was a bit skeptical. I called my normal garage, and told them what was going on, and they said to bring the car down and they would give me a second opinion on the shocks, even though they wouldnt have time to fix them that day. Let me also mention, the man at Midas informed me he would have to put a fail sticker on my vehicle. I told him I was worried about being pulled over with the failed sticker and he knew I was scared to leave Midas due to the failed sticker. I was later informed by a police officer that you have a 15 day grace period, and I am sure the Midas worker knew that, but didnt want me to leave without getting the work done. Well, I went to my normal garage, they told me Midas shouldnt have failed me for my shocks and they actually called a state trooper! The trooper then called me and told me to go back to Midas, as he had spoke to them personally and they would be passing my inspection. I couldnt believe it!! How often does this kind of dishonesty occur?? My $660 nightmare turned into a $16 normal inspection, all because I felt a little uncomfortable and went to my trusted garage for a second opinion. Also, my normal garage still told me I could use some new shocks, even though they werent blown. He then did the work for $325 instead of $660. Im sorry about the long review, but I want other people to be aware!

I would just like to say that every experience Ive had at and in this shop has been top notch.The service, the work and the straight forward information is all a customer can ask for.Ive been extremely impressed with the knowledge of the employees and the fact that on more than one occasion Ive heard them advise a customer that things the customer mightve thought needed to be taken care of were actually not that bad.That kind of honesty in the auto repair world is hard to find.All l can say is thanks and Ill be back.
Once an establishment lies to me, its an automatic 1 star. I went in for an inspection, had to explain that my daytime running lights were not fog lights and automatically came on when driving during the day as daytime running lights do. (2012 Camaro 2LT package HID standard)Thats all good, but other than rotors too thin and a small leak in a tire they came back saying the bulbs were inspected as obviously blown still and Id need to buy new ones from them to the tune of $40.I declined and said if they were blown Ill replace the with LED bulbs so theyd never blow again. They said if I did that theyd mark me as failed. FYI upon research, any DOT approved bulbs for its purpose will suffice for inspections.I just let them mark me as failed, paid for the inspection, drove out and checked the said lights, both were on and working bright and perfectly, and had no sign that even could be misconstrued as blown.I replaced my own rotors as they were near their low spec, went to Beach Auto and they repaired the tire and gave me a passed inspection.I do not recommend this shop.

This is a great place to take your car. I have had (2) of my cars worked on which is a Jeep Wrangler and Lincoln Aviator and the prices have always been fair and the work has always been done correctly. As a comparison there cost to repair a front hub assembly was half the cost of First Landing. Definitely worth taking your car there if you need a reliable mechanic.

My car wads making a loud noise. No one could look at it that same day until I called Midas. They were able to diagnose, and repair my car that day. The next day Mike the owner asked me to rate my experience and I gave them 5 stars for the way they treated me and serviced my vehicle.
These people will rip you off do not take your car there.. idiots and they dont know what theyre doing. $200 for 20mins of work .tryed to CON my young son . Then the manager wanted to cuss me out when I questioned it
I appreciate that it was very convenient to get my car inspected.. only had a hour wait which was sweet especially since it is near the end of the month.. though I didnt appreciate the way they stiffed me cause they claimed that my fog light wasnt working that and having to remove a carwash sticker to pass inspection.which the technician claimed their was a hefty job to get too the light replace it. So they charged me 30 dollars to have the technician pull the bulb out only put it back in again cause the bulb was working there was nothing really wrong it was just moisture. Also as I was waiting for the technician to bring me my car I witnessed the shop owner who charged me a extra 30 dollars for the so called repair chanced another customers head light bulb who just walked in off the street at no cost to that person that doesnt seem fair at least I was paying for my work.I know replacing a bulb only takes a few seconds cause I had a certified mechanic take a look at my fog lights at the dealership were I bought it later that afternoon. I know times are tough with economy and everything going on in world these days but ripping people off doesnt help matters..

I recommend you take your car somewhere else. I came in for an AC issue and was told I needed a new blower motor and that my car wasn’t putting out air. I felt it. It put out air and it was blowing the same as it has the day I got it. They kept saying it wasn’t and that I needed a blower motor and that it would be $400 plus labor costs. Not to mention the $100 I had already paid them just to look. I took it another repair shop—the problem was not the blower motor—and they fixed everything for under $200. Especially if you’re a woman, don’t go here.

Midas on Virginia Beach is the worst. They said they can get the plug off the transmission pan so I can fill it but instead they were going to change the fluid and of course charge me. I can do it myself I just couldnt get the plug off. Called a roadside mechanic and he was happy to do as I asked.

Vehicle repair is not a subject we like to talk about and rarely have a good story to tell because we go in for the $50 tik tik sound but the tap tap sound it was covering up was more important and now we have an unexpected $600 bill. Of course some of us blame the mechanic that has only touched your vehicle for the first time today for the tap tap problem. How could it be our fault for only driving it every day? The tap tap sound has been happening since I got it.The team at this Midas location and the Holland Rd location may not become your new BFF but will help keep your vehicle safe on the road for as long as you let them. With any machine that has over 20,000 moving parts sometimes the tap tap doesnt present itself until the tik tik is fixed. This team has helped fix the tik tik and the tap tap on my vehicle even with upfront pricing. Stop putting it off and go visit them today to fix your tik tik and tap tap.
Had an appointment at 9 am dropped my car off even earlier. I call at 12 to see if it was done since the work that needed done only takes 30 mins to do. I was told they were just then pulling it in to work on it! So why have an appointment?!? I made a point of making the appointment so that it would be done in a timely manner. I’m sorry other people popped in for service but I had an appointment and still got pushed obviously.Not happy.
Made an appointment for an oil change... 19.99 coupon came out to 34.99 . I needed an extra quart and 5 dollar for service fee. Didnt wait too long. They also did a few car checks

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER- I took my Infiniti Suv in to repair a broken tailpipe in the morning, I was told the part was not in stock but they could get it from Hampton location. I agreed and left the vehicle. Many hours later, I called and the part had never arrived. I was told I could come in, get the truck and bring it back the next day..unacceptable. So a while later they called to say they found it from a different vendor and to come in and by the time I arrived it would be ready. When I got there, the part still wasnt in and arrived minutes later. In 5 minutes they were supposedly done, I paid and left. On the way home I heard a obvious leak and they had closed so I figured I would take it back in the am. I took it back today and when I got there, I was rudely told that I could leave it but there were many others ahead of me. I need my truck for work so again unacceptable. The guy named James then said I could take it to the other VB location and so I did, they pulled me right in and I told the guy at the counter how I was treated. I waited for a hour or so and once it was done, they took it off the rack and the guy who fixed it pulled it up front, left it running and walked into the garage. I waited and no one came up front. When I looked into the garage, they were all hanging later out and talking. I waited a few more minutes and then I walked out and got in the truck and left. I also meant to mention that the second location said they fixed it incorrectly. Hours later, I received a call from this James guy who asked me if I had a complaint. When I started to explain about what had happened the day before, he kept cutting me off saying that he only cared about today (which to understand what happened he would have needed to listen) So as I tried to continue, he said oh, youre just calling to complain and I said, excuse me? He then proceeded to hang up on me. I called back several times and got the fax line. I called from a different number and got through and this James guy said our phones are acting up but I know the sound of a hangup. If we had been disconnected, why did he not call me back? He initiated the first call to me which I missed but called back. I will never take anything there again, both locations were totally unprofessional. I will be reaching out to corporate about this in the am.
1/19/19 I was a damsel in distress. It was freezing outside and I had low tire pressure. I went to the gas station trying to fill up my tire only to prove that I didnt know anything about putting air in a car tire, as I released air instead of applying more. Knowing I had a busy day/week ahead of me and couldnt afford anymore mishaps I went to my Ol trusty Midas. I told Jon about my issues he looked up my car info let me knew that he could help. I was in and out less than an hour. This location is and always has been my go to. Thanks again for your excellent service!
They tried to charge me for parts I didn’t need.. tried to charge me $90 for an air and cabin filter .. when they never even open the filter compartments.. be careful.

I had been going to Midas for about a year and never had a problem. They have a new manager and I left my car there to get inspected. I pick up my car after hours and realized I had a crack in my windshield. She stated that during inspection the inspector does not even touch the windshield or pick up the wiper. He simply just feels the tip to check and see if its worn. I felt as if she was attempting to insult my intelligence. I asked, how do you check if its worn without lifting it up? She lied a few more times during the call. All in all she stated that they would not fix my windshield. Ill never be back there again!!

One of the worst customer service companies I have ever used. Unbelievably bad service. Poor communication and poor pricing. After having my vehicle for 45 minutes, they called asking for a key for the vehicle that they could’ve asked for when I was there. They also said it would take 15 minutes to be seen and 20 for the inspection and I didn’t get the call until 45 minutes later when I wasn’t close to the shop. Needless to say, couldn’t find the key and they still charged me 16 dollars for a failed inspection. Thanks for wasting an hour of my time.
Great Service. Stopped by without an appointment and was able to get oil changed and brakes changed on the spot. The other midas wouldnt see me without and appointment.

Had a bit of exhaust work done here a few days ago, insanely fast for everything the mechanic did. Also learned a bit about my car that i hadnt previously known! Better price than i would have guessed for all that was done, which i might add was done from start to finish in less than 1 hour and 45 minutes!
I called to make appointment for the next day at 0800 for an oil change, and I got there and the manager or supervisor had no idea about what I was taking about. He just nodded his head in frustration and walked away before I was even able to get out of the car.This place is very unprofessional. Dont waste your time.

I am super impressed with this particular Midas shop! Collaboratively the team is aligned with one another and was able to align with me offering transparency, integrity, understanding and respect! The team cares about my 2001 RAV4 as much as I do! In my view that is huge especially when I have kept up preventatively as well as any other work that has been needed to keep my vehicle pristine. The lines of communication were open and consistent keeping my needs, concerns and interest as the main goal! I feel I/my Rav matters to the team at Lynnhaven Midas! Literally, I observed the team at this particular Midas jump through hoops to achieve not only a safe vehicle for me with excellence but a genuine concern to have my vehicle taken care of in a timely manner!I highly recommend this particular Midas to anybody who wants service with excellence and an abundance of integrity! VERY DISHONEST OWNER!! DONT GO THERE!! Took my daughters car there on Thursday 1/21/16. They gave me a total estimate for $100. When I came back they charge me more!! When I told them I wanted to speak to the owner he left and told the girl at the counter that if I dont pay I wont get more keys and he will put a lien on my car.! I spoke to the Technician and he said that I was right he only quoted me $100 total for the work performed. The technician said it was a new owner. I will never go back to this shop again! Watch out if you happen to go there!!
Dropped my car off with a failing starter. Jon called me later and said it would cost $606 to replace. I thought it was a little high but said okay. Went to pick the car up and was told it was $673. Asked why the difference and was told the difference was tax and shop supplies? When Im told a price I expect it to be the price I pay. Complained but they wouldnt budge. Not going back.

I came here roughly..... 3 or 4 years ago with my 2007 Buick Lacrosse CXL with a request for a catback dual flowmaster exhaust setup, the price was fair.. roughly $500. I no longer own that car, switched it up and bought a wrx, but they did a great job on my exhaust setup, so if youre looking for a great sounding exhaust, this is the shop. :)
No state inspector present on last day of month 8/31. Clerk notified me 1/2 after shop opened by phone. Spent $15 in Lyft fees to go have breakfast for NO REASON. No posting on door at 6:30 when doing early bird drop off. One would think this unit, like any other, would have the person doing the inspection present on the LAST DAY of any month for those forced into a last minute situation. Most illogical. Shouldnt notification that no inspector is present be posted THE DAY BEFORE as a courtesy to early bird folks ?? I would think so !!!😁
