Awesome people and service. Took us in right away when we were attempting to head out back to Ohio and our window fell in on our door. They diagnosed, ordered parts, repaired it, and had us on the road home within 2 hours. Not to mention the price wasnt too bad either. Id definitely recommend and go back when on vacation if needed.

I heard about this service through a coworker because I needed a tune up and oil change. When I took my car I dropped it off and went back to work. They called me every step of the way, exhausted all resources to run tests and do research to find out what could be causing the issues with my car. At first it read codes for something really expensive, after doing some digging they found a way to bypass the code and cleaned out my hoses while reassuring me they had saved me quite a bit of money and they car was running much better. Chelsea, Kelly, and Tom were all extremely helpful, friendly, professional, and kind people. I will continue to take my car here and also pass along the great work of this amazing family auto shop!

Will not be returning.Took my car there for a standard brake job. Changed the pads and rotors on all 4 tires. When I picked it up there was a high pitch squeak coming from the rear passenger side tire when the brakes were no being engaged. I took it back and told them what was going on and the technician just told me sometimes new pads squeak. I didnt know any better so I took his word for it. A couple of weeks later the squeak was still happening and I took it to a garage I truly trusted in my hometown in New York. Apparently both rear calipers were seized up and that was what was causing the squeak (something one would assume a professional would notice when changing brakes) . I ended up paying to get that fixed in addition to changing the only 6 week old brake pads that I had just bought.I understand no one is perfect and it was probably an honest mistake missing it the first time. But the fact that I brought it back and asked them to fix it and was still told that nothing was wrong is the reason I will not be returning.

This place is exactly where you want to go to get your car repaired or inspected. Theyre a little rough around the edges (theyre mechanics, after all), but theyre very friendly. The owner knows what hes doing, and has, for over 15 years.

I left my old truck for an estimate. They called me & gave a quote for repairs of $650 . I agreed & told her I had coupons. After two days they notified me that the my car was ready and total was $850. I objected and they claimed that $650 was after coupons which is not true. She gave the quote of $650 before she knew I had coupons. Finally after argument and discussions they brought it down to $668 whish was the original price before coupons. Basically they bait and switched. They raised the price so they would not honor their coupon. I will not go back there any more..

Took my car in for a state inspection and it was done in less than 30 minutes. The receptionist was very friendly, too. The prices were very affordable as well; I paid $33 for the inspection and a brake light replacement. Needless to say, I definitely recommend them! Thanks guys! 😊

My Husband took my car there For inspection they told him that there’s a leaking gas problem and it has to be replaced ..they told him it would cost $850 to be fix. So we took it to another mechanic to get an second opinion come to find out it was my fuel pump that needed to be replace which only cost 250$ . No gas leaking problems wrong wit the car 🙄 I’ve figured since my Husband is not American they figured they can over charge him happens to many times an not just wit my Husband

This is a family owned company and they very respectful. They provide information on what needs to be repaired immediately as well as other issues they may run across. They have great prices and dont try to get over on you repairing unnecessary issues that can wait with your approval.

Excellent service! Honest and polite staff. Went by to get my car looked at because of a noise coming from under the car. Turn out to be my heat shield on the catalytic converter.... It rusty and bend over touching something else when I rev. the car making that metal on metal noise. They just bend it back in place. Checked my tire and adjusted the air pressure in all of them $0

Friendly staff and quick service. I arrived without a booking at around 3pm, they had my car serviced, completed a state inspection and did a tire rotation and had it ready by 5.30 pm. I have a voucher book that my wife purchased with them, over $1,000 worth of services for just $100. Great value.

My wife and I had just recently moved to the area from GA. I couldnt register my vehicle because I wasnt able to pass a safety inspection. Ive had electrical issues for over a year now which prevented the car from passing the inspection. I took the car to a different mechanic first, where they took close to a week to come up with anything and it was nothing but a bunch of could be this could be that gonna run you probably about $1,000+ to rewire the car if thats the issue. I decided to take a shot with Sullivans Family Auto Repair. I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. The staff was super friendly, the mechanic kept me updated all along the way on where they were in diagnosing / correcting the issue. Not only was the car properly diagnosed within just one day, by the end of the second day, they had fixed the whole issue, and I ended up paying a fraction of the cost had I left it at the other shop. I would highly recommend Sullivans Family Auto Repair!

So far this place is great. I just moved down here and my car needed some work and took it to one place and they told me it was going to be $426. So I call Sullivans Family Auto Repair and asked how much the work would be and they were affordable and I asked about getting it done tomorrow even tho I know it last minute but I have work and school and have no other way around. The girl in the office told me if I could get it there she will have it done and call me tomorrow to pick it up! They have great customer service! I’ll make another review after I get my car back!Just got my car back and it runs great! The mechanic call me this morning to let known that they looked at it and were staring to work on it and what they found. Few hours later I was told I could come pick up my car. Just like yesterday the girl in the office was very friendly greeted me with a smile and was friendly. I be taking my car there again when I need more work done to it and recommend it to anyone that asks me about places to get work done on their vehicles!!Thank you!!!!

I always call to see if there’s appointments available and they always just tell me to come on in first thing in the morning. Usually places say this and as soon as you get there, you’re waiting for hours because you didn’t make an appointment. Sullivan’s gets me out of there in less than an hour every single time. Im new to the area and was looking for a reliable mechanic like the one I had back home. Sullivans has mostly good reviews and is around the corner from my house so I gave them a try. I needed a Saturday appointment and it was Friday, Tom said I could drop the car off the next morning and it would be looked at. He called and explained the issue to me very thoroughly and made sure I wanted to proceed with fixing it, which was appreciated. I will definitely go back and would recommend!

You can trust the reviews for this place. On the way to the shore we had a tire pressure warning light come on. Got to Virginia Beach and looked for a reliable mechanic and found them to be the highest rated so I went there. Friendly fast and great service. Lots of locals dropping cars off for work too which was a great sign. I totally recommend them!

This business is negligent and unprofessional. It leaves their customers vehicles UNLOCKED overnight in their parking lot.Following this they take zero responsibility, when as a result the car is broken into.Would not recommend them to anyone. Do not trust the work of mechanics who can’t even lock a car door.

Took them 3 months to fix my car and got it back and it was SMOKING while i was driving on the interstate. no car again! oh and the owner is HORRIBLE. Only one good mechanic.

Best place at Oceanfront for all Auto needs! I bring my small fleet of European Collector Diesel Japanese and Domestic vehicles here. State Inspections done in a timely manner honest and very reasonable pricing! I live in Shadowlawn and drop off vehicle in the morning and ride my bike back usually by lunchtime. Tell all my friends and family and they tell theirs.

I was referred to Sullivans by a coworker of mine, who said that they are a trustworthy business. I brought my Nissan Quest in for an inspection, and there were a couple of things that were found that needed fixing. The charges for my repairs were fair and the wait time was reasonable. The office woman let me pick something on Netflix to watch on the office tv to keep my 4 year old occupied, and everyone was very friendly and professional. I would feel comfortable taking my car back there for repairs in the future. :)

My car was there for three weeks for something simple. I could have spent $25 on a tool and done this on my own. I had to keep calling them to get an answer. Im not sure the have the time to help all their customers

Great service is a good thing and when things need to be fixed they need to be fixed I get it. I was warned before I went here but this place is very through when doing inspections ect, which is fine. But be ready to dish out the money for that through inspection. When something needs to be fixed fix it. But sometimes things can slide that is not causing any immediate danger. If you struggle with bills and living month to month do not come here for a inspection. I know many family members who cannot afford this, just saying heads up for the broke. We are not broke but this was hard on the wallet. Also the insurance that covers a few things was not asked about or an option.

I was satisfied with my most recent visit which was to get my inspection done. They were lightening fast and didn’t have me waiting too long.

Extremely discriminatory against young car owners. i am able to afford the luxury of owning multiple cars, but they will make it difficult, demanding proof that i own my vehicles to get inspected. even when bringing all the titles in my name with me, they still denied me service. They have inspected my cars TWICE before, BOTH were unregistered, and there was never a problem, but now they denied me for some reason. I am considering a law suit for discriminating against me, especially since they have done the service for me before with no beating around the bush and having me run back and forth to prove myself. i once was a loyal customer here, even shoveled their parking lot during this last winters snow storm. not only disappointing, but disgusted in their 2018 performance.

Place is fine for repair work. Customer service could use a lot of work. They left my vehicle unlocked all day across the street after they worked on it. When I mentioned it all I got was a rude woman who told me well technically thats still our parking lot and a nothing was missing right so what do you want me to do about it seriously?? I think Ill be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Be wary if you choose this place. They dont care about you or your car....just your money.

They took me in as a last minute inspection got me right in. By the time I got done with my lunch and checked my email I was out the door. They saved me due to the fact it was my only day off 1 in the afternoon and my inspection I noticed the night prior was expired. So thank you guys for helping me.

I have never been to this shop but I was very disappointed when my doorbell rang at 7:05PM and it was someone soliciting this shop. Im pregnant & overdue with 3 dogs that I had to try wrangle myself as my spouse was gone just to get the door and it was a solicitation, really? On the positive side I now have a no solicitation sign on my door. Try social media and other forms of advertising its pretty forward and rude to come to someones home in the evening.

The worst experience I have ever had with any mechanic shop in the history of my life. I took my 2011 Ram 1500 5.7 HEMI to have my Cam Shaft replaced. After speaking with these guys about my whole situation I felt like they were legit and they gave me a fairly decent price. $3000. 14 hour job. So I leave my truck Wednesday evening and they tell me the work will get done I’ll be able to get the truck back Friday. I call Friday I’m told they ordered the parts they just received them I’ll have the truck Monday. Monday rolls around... I’m given a bunch of excuses...long story short took about 2 weeks to get my truck. When I finally did get my truck... my air conditioning wasn’t working...why because the mechanic was rushing to piece my truck together and damage my a/c valves. They offered to make my repairs free of charge. At this point I’m upset but let them redeem themselves. So they fix it. I go about my business. It’s been about a week. Today’s date is 06/14/2018. I check underneath my truck and it’s leaking oil. I’m thinking it’s my oil pan drain bolt... no it’s the actual oil pan the mechanic didn’t even tighten up the oil pan bolts properly and it’s leaking all over the place. My truck went in there with only 1 issue.... now it’s all messed up. Anyone who supports this kind of business and behavior....do not... who ever did this to my truck is a pos mechanic should never turn a wrench again... will never bring my business here again and also will never recommend them to anyone. Horrible place. I will be reporting this to the BBB. And will be seeking legal advice for full compensation for my time and money.

Sullivans FAMILY AUTO REPAIR IS THE BIGGEST SCAM AT THE OCEANFRONT!!!! AVOID THESE SCAMMERS AT ALL COSTS. My $16 inspection went from that to headlight adjustments at $20 a piece and a lot more. Mind you they were installed by professionals two months prior to my inspection. Then they “claimed” my high beams did not work. Charged me another $50 to diagnose. Lol. That led to my turn signal no longer working properly. Plus my bed cover light was stuck on permanently. So You bring it back for them to fix issues at no cost right. Nope. They told me my connectors were corroded. Nothing under my hood is corroded at all. Neither were the connectors. My vehicle is garage kept and has less than 20,000 miles on it. They wanted an additional $90 to fix this also. I refused. So then they purposefully wired my mirror indicator light to be on permanently as well. So in total for a perfectly working vehicle, they wanted $210.00 total. I wanted to use a different tone of words here. But that would only bring me down to their level of what their missing in life. Which is obviously money and MORALE Maybe a drug problem. NOT SURE.#PUT THE STRAW DOWNBEWARE OF THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.A friend of mine fixed there purposely faulty wiring in 20 minutes.#WORST INSPECTION EVER

I had the pleasure of the owner looking at my BMW. I made an appointment on Tuesday and they told me that they would be able to look at it Wednesday. I came in at the EOB and was informed that they would need to look at it the next day. Thursday came around and just because I know mechanics arent the most trustworthy people, I drove by multiple times to see if they had taken the car into the shop. They hadnt. They did lift the hood however... I called and asked the status of the diagnosis and the owner (while laughing) told me it was the CAS module in my car. Said he would love to take my money but he was not skilled in that area. Told me that I needed to have my car towed out of his parking lot because space was limited. Towed my car to the BMW dealership where they informed me that my car did not have a CAS module in it! Turns out my starter was bad and they fixed it in 2 hours. Dont go to this place. The owner is more concerned having young girls work in this place than giving someone honest work. My car was never touched and while I was there (swear to god) I heard the mechanic talking about how straight his d*ck was. The irony is the name of the shop has Family in it. Take your car to someone else. Please take my advise an save yourself the trouble. I would assume that we will see the owner on To Catch a Predator one day.

Went on new years eve to Virginia Beach from Raleigh and our water pump broke causing the serpentine belt to fall off and making our car over heat and battery died. Took it to these guys the next day to get it fixed and they had it ready the following day. Made it back to Raleigh and after a month it is still running good.Thanks guys

I called to ask a question & was hung up on. I know it happens especially if a shop is busy. However when I called back I got the worst customer service I have ever had. It was short reply and then got hung up on. Nice to know how they treat military spouses there.

Total rip-off, parts left off vehicle unnecessary repairs and charged for repairs that were never done, hostile attitude when inquiries were made as to fraudulent repair billing, threats of violence by owner when questioned about incomplete very shoddy work, after reporting the credit card fraud to state police I was told this business has been under investigation for previous credit card fraud and identity theft and inconsistency with state inspections, the BBB has issued a warning concerning this business....Beware!!!
