I came for a simple blowdry. Krystal ( the lady who was doing it) compleatly failed. All l asked to blow it with round brush. She started creating some kind curls, that never stay on my hair, also asked me to guide what to do with them! Obwiously nothing. I did not ask for them! So had to have it redone! Will never come back for it!

AWFUL. Not the haircut I wanted. I wanted a completely different style then what I had, and the employee gave me just a short trim and charged me $75. NEVER going back to this salon, or going to Mario tricoci ever again.

Everyone at the salon is so friendly and helpful. I have seen numerous different techs from the spa and hair departments. Ive never left disappointed. If you are looking for color I suggest Emily and if you are interested in a massage, Allison is fantastic.

Disappointed to get a call today from the Hawthorne Salon an hour before my appointment that the stylist that has cut my hair was uncomfortable cutting my hair today because of a previous incident that occurred with me.This incident that she references is when she lied to me about having COVID. The salon gave me a contact tracing call and the stylist told me that to her knowledge she didnt have COVID and then 30 mins later told me that she had tested positive and that I should get tested out of an abundance of caution. (I saved the text message.) She knew that I had a heart condition and I told her that COVID was not something that she should lie about.I havent been back to the salon since these but I thought I would give her a second chance because I thought it was probably scary for her and she didnt know what to do. For me to be willing to return to the salon and get a call an hour before my appointment being pathologized by a stylist who lied is infuriating.

I had a very disappointing experience getting my hair colored. I called to speak to someone and no one has gotten back to me. No action has been taken and I think that is outrageous. I had black hair and came in wanting to lift my entire head of hair to try to achieve a brown/red color. I called to make my appointment to make sure it was booked correctly. When I arrived, my stylist began the service by insulting people with tattoos (of which I have many). She then began my service by balayaging my hair instead of lifting all of my hair color. I did say I wanted all of my hair lifted and had photos. The whole process seemed rushed and haphazardly done. She didnt paint the undersides of the sections she pulled and was not very meticulous in sectioning in the first place. She only left the bleach on my head for 30 minutes and by the end of it my hair was barely lifted. However, when I went to the next salon to have it corrected it took my stylist an extra 3 hours to correct this balayage she did on my hair. She unnecessarily damaged my hair more than it needed to be because I had to have this corrected and she completely disregarded what I was looking for.Im sorely disappointed with my service and how Mario Tricoci as a company has not handled this especially after I had spent $200 for a service I did not ask for and had to have color corrected afterward. A waste of my hair health, money, and time.

I do not like to spend a lot on hair, clothes, etc. I used to be quite happy with Great Clips. But there is such a difference, now I feel like its so worth it. Ive gone two different times now with two different stylists and I was so happy when I walked out. I will definitely be going there again. I went back to Great Clips just to compare and its night and day. They dont suggest anything there, you have to tell them exactly what you want, almost to the point of exactly how much to cut off of each layer. But at Mario Tricoci, you feel like you are with a professional who has an opinion and will not steer you wrong. At least that wasy experience both times. Im only going there from now on!

I’ll preface this with, please make sure front support handles clients respectfully. I hated to see that some lower rated were simply due to how clients were received or checked out. I’ve gone several times here. For myself and my three daughters. As for any air of snobbery, I literally always go in sweats and rag T. Have never felt dismissed when booking simply based off my appearance. The cuts are well and they may go out of their way to accommodate. My daughters were offered complimentary hair wash and dry while they waited. Super cute and appreciated, so I tipped well. Will continue to get cuts here for them and myself as needed!

Made an appointment for my daughter, due to traffic we were running 10 minutes behind. I gave them a courtesy call to see if they wails be able to still see her and they told me sure no problem. Get to the salon and now since we were more than 8 minutes late we would have to reschedule or see another stylist who’s obviously more money. Simple solution is say sorry let’s reschedule but not have me show up and tell me you can’t see us. Poor customer service....never this location again.

I went to their Vernon Hills location, when I booked my appointment I specifically asked what their charge was for my service. After I went in for my service and went to check out, they added an $8.00 additional charge. I asked what for, they said well Brie makes her own fees so there was an extra $5.00 fee and then they charged me $3.00 for COVID. Well this is not fair, we are all hit with COVID destroying our World and pocket book. So when a customer makes an appointment, your CSRs need to be informed and know the prices for each stylist and tell everyone you charge for COVID. Tricoci is dishonest, I wont go back

Front desk girls were completely ignoring me. When I was trying to speak to her she acted like she was lost and didn’t know where she was. Tried to schedule an appointment and she kept asking me for what year I needed the appointment when I told her 4 times I need it within the next 3 months. She just kept talking about her new tattoo on her hand with the other girl. Then began to be disrespectful towards me after I asked what days work for the person I was trying to be scheduled for. Ended up just saying forget about the appointment and went somewhere else because of the two girls that ignored me. Professional hair salon but terrible front desk girls.

This location does a great job in their spa services but was surprisingly disappointed with their hair services. I had an appointment for a wash, blow dry and style with hot tools and my stylist did not prep my hair prior to using the hot tools. She simply partially dried it, curled it and sprayed hair spray. The appointment was supposed to be 45 minutes and I was finished within 25 minutes...for $60, I was truly disappointed. I actually had another appointment after this one and my hair was straight by the time I left :(.

We had a great time at the salon getting ready for my sisters wedding. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The hair stylists and makeup artists were very professional and they did an AMAZING job!!Not only that, but another local salon canceled one of our mother of the bride updos last minute due to a family emergency (she tried to save a little $)- but Mario Ts was thankfully able to squeak her in, in time for the wedding... and on a Saturday morning non the less!!

This is the first time i got to go to a high end hair salon,it was worth it paying more for what you actually want.ARIA was very sweet and had the hands of a angel.beautiful blow out also.

My service was good enough, I guess. They squeezed me in on a cancellation so that was convenient, but that’s about where it ends. My stylist went on and on about herself and on more than one occasion, she made inappropriate/tone deaf comments. It just made for a really uncomfortable situation. It felt super rushed and my hair did not even remotely come out the way I expected it to- especially given what it ended up costing me. But- I didn’t want to complain in person, and I still tipped her well because I did appreciate her getting me in- even if it wasn’t what I was looking for, I realize her time is money. Anywayyy, probably not going to come back- or at least to this location. 😔

I regularly receive deep tissue massages from Mario Tricoci and Larissa is by far the best message therapist there (Ive tried four different massage therapists). She creates a welcoming and comfortable environment, while working with strong pressure on the muscles. She focuses on areas that are most tight or troublesome and does a tremendous job of truly getting deep into the muscle.She also offers advice and recommendations to help keep the muscles healthy and encourages the use of the steam room to help post-massage recovery.I plan to continue receiving massages from Mario Tricoci and will only see Larissa, because of her incredibly effective deep tissue massages.

I loved the massage and I loved the relaxation room! Kind of hard to find where the spa was but if you go up stairs you are fine!

I have been going there frequently as I live close by, and it is very convenient. The aestheticians who do facials and waxing are very nice, did not have much luck with massage. The behavior of the people at the front desk (on the second floor) is shockingly rude. This has happened to myself and my husband a couple of times now. This month when I went for waxing and a facial, I spent close to 400 dollars. The lady at the front desk threw the receipt at me without even looking at me. I was so miffed, I asked her, dont they train you to say a thank you? She looked at me and said Thank you for what? with a poker face. And she then repeated it. I was shocked and shaken beyond words. I am trying to find another spa where I will be treated better than that.

My stylist was excellent, hair turned out great.But the check in ladies were extremely rude as if I wasn’t on there level to give good customer service. No welcome greeting or “thank you” when I paid, they just gave me my change and acted as if I wasn’t there. So I just walked away, would rather go to a better customer service hair salon.

I had my hair cit Friday, July 5, 2019, by Crystal. This review is not about Crystal. My haircut with her was excellent! She spent a lot of time talking to me about my hair, a plan for healthy hair, gave suggestions about style, and gave me a great haircut. Crystal is a 5!! This review is about the products in the salon. I have an allergy to Lyral, which is contained in many fragrances. I cannot use any products that contain fragrance or perfume. There was no fragrance free shampoo or conditioner (or any other products) at the salon. In this day and age with so many people struggling with allergies, I found this hard to believe. Mario Tricoci is a large salon with many resources and should be on the cutting edge of best quality/best practices. Please make fragrance free products available so that people like me can continue to use the services in your salon.

The stylists and colorists are wonderful. Prices are quite high. When getting only a color, I felt a bit abandoned after the shampoo, as you are apparently left to your own devices to blowdry your hair.

From manicures to color, I have had nearly all the services they offer and enjoyed each experience. I wouldnt trust my hair,skin or nails to anyone else.

If you want a great mens haircut see Joe, he does a great job on my son as well. Ashley cuts my daughters hair and she does an amazing job. The front desk was friendly and welcoming. I will continue to recommend this place.

Bad service and rude hairstylist.The hairstylist was unprofessional and untrained.I was facing the window most of the time not being able to see what was being done to my hair. Needless to say, my hair looked horrible in the end.I was late with 10 minutes, and the stylist told me that time is money and she does not have the time now to achieve what i want which was very rude.I paid a lot of money for a bad experience.

I had the Essential Mani and Pedi ... so just regular. Not a very friendly gal, for sure ... maybe just exhausted from pre-Christmas business ... but she did take the time to speak to, and then say Merry Christmas to, customers with other nail techs ... she knew I wasnt a regular and might or might not be back?I hadnt had a mani or pedi for 6 months and desperately needed both. Im not exaggerating. This gal lightly brushed each nail twice with her emory board ... once to the left and once to the right. Wow. I myself was too exhausted to complain and just closed my eyes for a bit. Not a single attempt to even-out the very noticeable horizontal ridges in some of my nails ... and both thumb nails were quite bad. Even a nail place that charges $30 or $35 for BOTH a mani and pedi will buff ridges out. This mani/pedi cost $75!!!I will say that the color was beautiful and the color application was good for both my hands and feet.Im exhausted just writing this review. So Ill sum up the pedicure by just adding that it was actually the most important part for me ... removing, softening, buffing out calluses. I had to come home and continue to do these things myself.As much as I immensely appreciate this beautiful birthday gift from my girlfriend ... and, believe me, I will not tell her anything negative about my experience this Christmas season ... I will not return to the Vernon Hills MT in the foreseeable future.

I have only ever gotten two haircuts in my life that I didnt like and they were both at this salon. Most recently, I came in for a donation cut. Yuvannia was the stylist. It was obvious to me that she wasnt invested in the cut when she very unceremoniously chopped my hair off before I was ready to take video of it. Then, she suggested a fade. I agreed to this but the result looks NOTHING like a fade. The style she presented to me was horrendous and I asked her to fix it. The final result is uneven as can be! To top it all off, she tried to hide the back from me and proceeded to try and convince me that it would settle in a way that would be completely unnatural for the direction of my hair growth.

They completely dont know how to do lighter hair I went in and I came out the same way that I went in then I called and they told me to go back in & they completely have me a different color of hair than the one I wanted. Never going there again and never recommending anyone here. Never have I ever been more upset and angry at a hair salon.

I have been a client of Mario Tricoci for almost 2 decades. I have tried many stylists at Mario and except for 1 stylist, I have always received a professional cut. They recently remodeled their check in area, which does not flow well at all. I wish they wouldve left the long counter hidden behind the staircase. Now everyone entering the mall can see you check in. Also, at times I find myself waiting for someone to appear at the desk to check me in. I think the check in girls go MIA cause, its like being in a fishbowl and they need a break from all the mall stares.Mario makes sure all the stylists have been professionally schooled and trained. Once a stylist is given a chair, Mario provides additional on the job training to all their staff. For a new stylist they usually charge $40-$45 for a haircut, not bad. The more established senior stylists charge more. Again, Ive been a client for so many years, Im familiar with how they operate.I like the fact they give you a black kimono and a cape to protect your clothes from the cut hairs or hair dye when I visit. If you are having highlights or color done to your hair, they put your purse in a plastic bag. This was enforced a few years ago when a stylists accidentally splattered some dye on a clients designer purse. Not mine, my purse is basic boring.I highly recommend purchasing the $300 gift card. For each $100 you purchase, they give you a $15 credit. $300 = a $45 gift card, enough to pay for one haircut!Besides changing the check in back to what it was, I wish they offered a frequent haircut card.For every 10 cuts how about offering a free cut up to $45?Sounds good to me ;0

I went because they recommended it to me to make the most important haircut of my life because I had made it so short and I am so disappointed. they left me a cut so strange that there is no way to comb, besides that after 3 days something strange came out on my scalp only in one part as a strange shell that thank God I could eliminate by pulling it with coconut oil. They also charged me 80 dlls plus tip and did not accept my 20 dollar coupon. I do not step on Mario Triccochi of Vernon Hills again

My 20 year old daughter went for a couple inches off a a reshaping for thick curly hair. Ended up with 5 inches off. Was unable to watch what was being done, the hair dresser did not have her facing the mirror. She hates the cut!

I have been a loyal customer at this location for 13 years and even though it is a bit more expensive than other salons in the area the services I receive are well worth it.Katie and Marlien are like family to me and seem to know what I need every time I see them to make me feel beautiful! I am grateful for the time I have spent with them through the years and look forward to many more years of their services.My only complaint about Mario Tricoci is that what they charge for product is not realistic as I can purchase my Pureology products on Amazon for almost half the price.

Unbelievable! I was running late and I called to let them know. I get to the appointment and was told they have a 15 minute cancellation policy. I was NOT told this on the phone. Wouldnt waist my time driving back here again. Customer service F. Manager was rude and scarstic. Staff all need training. Guess they can afford to loose customers.

Came here for a haircut. Alex was the sweetest. She reassured me of some of the worries I was having about my hair and listened to what I wanted and did a great job with my hair. I totally recommend her.

Had these two very nice African American ladies bleach my dark brown hair, toned it into a very beautiful pale blonde, some parts were white. The only bad part I had about this experience was that it took 4 hours and I feel like it shouldnt have taken so long but they did a good job so it was worth it.

Paid $100 for basic color and they didnt even blowdry my hair! Was told it was another $20 to have someone do it or there was a counter where I could do it myself. I asked if there was a curling iron I could use and was told no they were owned by the stylists. The lady who colored my hair was nice and th color turned out ok...but nothing a $10 trip to Sallys couldnt have done just as well. I was willing to pay for the experience and having to dry my own hair was ridiculous. Save your money and go somewhere where you can leave with your hair looking presentable.

I usually go see Zuzanna in Arlington heights but I was sick a couple days ago and I missed the appointment so I just rescheduled it with Marybeth from Hawthorne and Vernon Hills because of convenience and she was available. I never leave reviews, ever, but i had to leave one after today. I was very hesitant to get a haircut here seeing it didnt have good reviews online. Its the holiday weekend and i was not able to get a cut sooner, so i came in yo see if they migt have an opening by chance. They did, with Crystal. I tend to be nervous and picky when it comes to haircuts because i like the bob hairstyle but not everyone knows how to do it good, i have had many bad experiences. Crystal did an absolutely amazing job! What i loved the most is that she took the time to listen and fully understand my wants and worries. She did not seem rushed and was not quick to just start cutting away until we were on the same page. I truly appreciated that! In the end, i love the cut and will definately be going back! Rudest manager Ive met in years. Stephanie in vernon hills does not care for the customers sake. No customer service skills, or respect for the customer when having an issue. Sad that MARIO TRICOCI WOULD HIRE SOMEONE as disgustingly passive agressive as her, let alone put her as a MANAGER. I WILL NOT come again to this place again ever and Ill definitely be spreading this around to my friends who go here regularly. Its a shame their standards for treating customers are as low as they are, especially after going to this place for a few years and never having this type of experience.

The lady doing lashes try to force me to buy products I don’t need.

I went in to get my roots done and to brighten up my blonde. I spent 150+ dollars there (with a $20 off coupon so it would have been 170+) When I got home my hair didnt look ANY different. I was shocked. I expected ALOT more for the price... so they gave me a complimentary redo. I asked her to do my roots more and please give it an ashy blonde tone. My roots looked better but not to my liking and it turned out a very brassy golden blonde. not what I asked for at all! PLUS! when she was doing my hair the second time she left the bleach on my roots for the longest I have ever had it. When I left my scalp actually felt like I had a sunburn and my hair was fried! I have been blonde for quite a while and have never had anyone struggle so much to get it right. I am very unhappy with the outcome and would not go back to the girl again. There may be talented people here but I was so upset about my hair I will never step foot in this place again.

Had my hair cut here a while ago and had the most wounderful time. Zhanna was assiting me and she made the experience better than I could have expected it to be.Normally i am a shy kind of person but it was easy talking to her while I was getting my hair cut, I would definitely recommend her and I will be back in a month or two.Overall, the place was clean and the people were nice as well. It is a warm enviroment and well worth the price.

Ive been coming to this spa since it opened and I love the staff - they are super-friendly and very customer oriented. My long-time favorite nail techs are Nina and Lili for pedicures and newer nail tech Sonia for manicures.

As soon as I walked through the door I felt judged. Weak smiles & no hellos. Just stares of really? Prices are ridiculous & based on how unwelcome I felt I wouldnt even dare pay for a service.

This place has no concept of time management! For the prices they charge you, you would think you get better service.
