I am the official payee for my child starting on 9/1/21 and pryor to that there was an insufficient check written that accumulated late fees and other charges. I began working with one of your managers on 9/1/21 to no avail. Finally on 9/13, I left a message in the mail slot for a call since I had been to the office 3 times that afternoon to pay all charges. Soon after the office opened on 9/14, the temp manager called me and within 70 minutes of that call,( I live 35 min away) she had the problem resolved and was so very efficient in doing so. She checked all files, called your attorney to confirm what she was telling me and I was on my way home. I so appreciate her efforts on my behalf to keep my child with a roof overhead. The regular manager stalled so many times plus there was a holiday weekend, so more late fees accumulated. I had given September rent which was not accepted due to the original late fees. Again, kudos to the temp manager.
As a disclaimer, this review is based on the experience with the managing company and does NOT reflect my perception of the staff at the apartment complex where I had lived. The staff at the complex was top notch and actually seemed to care about the residents. The managing company, on the other hand... Something shady is clearly going on with them, and things dont add up.So, to set the stage, we moved out of our apartment back in October, received a bill for some damages, somewhere around $600 or so, (We lived there for 3 years with pets, so the carpets were needing replaced.) We end up contacting them and working out a payment plan, sending $100 a month. Today, my partner reached out to them to confirm what our remaining balance was only to learn they apparently only received the first payment in December, I believe it was, and supposedly sent us to collections in January without any notification. (Mind you, weve not received any notice from collections either.) That means we sent at least 3 or 4 $100 payments to them that are now somehow lost.As I have been typing this, O got further notification from him that he had reached out to a number they had provided, and the company he spoke with had no record of the debt, referred him to another number, where he got the same response, zero information on such debt. So, either someone at their cooperate office has no clue what theyre doing and gave us false information, or they are omitting important information as to whats going on with this account.
Absolute worst management company. You never can get a hold of the supervisor or main person because all calls and emails get routed back to the manager of the apartments.
I just moved into an apartment at Sunset Vista that turned out to be infested with cockroaches. I moved in on a Saturday; I reported the roaches on Monday to the manager. By Thursday they had an inspector out here from their pest management company to inspect the entire building. He recommended the building (all of it) be treated for the infestation (or whatever its called) ... not just individual apartments, but ALL of them... the whole 9 yards, doing a total extermination including foam in the walls, etc. And the management company made it happen! I have absolutely NO complaints. The manager is cheerful and responsive to issues, the maintenance fellow is likewise cheerful and responsive to issues. The tenants are friendly; people smile and say hello or wave. One caveat; these are older buildings. Some of the apartments have been remodeled but the older ones look like what they are: older! If you want a fancy new looking place, either wait for one of the remodeled apartments or to go a fancy new complex. Personally, Im very happy with one of the older apartments...its small, but its comfortable, and it feels like HOME.
This is the greediest management company that I have ever rented from. I DO NOT recommend living in one of these communities. I have to remember not to take in out on the manager because she does what she is asked. My rent has increased $227 since they took over and they cannot even part with a carpet shampoo.
I have worked at NorthStar for over a decade now and there is a reason I have stuck around for that long. The benefits are great and the people that I work for are even better. The owner of the company is down to earth and treats all employees with respect. Plus he can be a funny guy! We have a caring company culture where we can rely on each other for help. I love knowing that the people I work for and with are good people. I also appreciate having resources to be effective at taking care of my community. It is still a business so one of my responsibilities is to generate income but I like that I can give maintenance priority so that I can be proud of the community where I work. There is always room for more improvement but NorthStar has grown and improved a lot over the years so this year I am giving it 5 stars!

NS is a great company, I have worked for NS as a property manager for almost a year, my supervisors I have worked under are Ramona and Ranae and they have provided great support in shaping my career. I have been won over by believing I work for one of the best as I have seen first hand the employees are taken care of, they will help you grow as much as you are willing, most importantly I have seen how they have made it easier for us property managers to take care of our properties and our residents. I have always had support when issues need to be taken care of, guidance when needed. I am happy with who I have chosen to build my career with, as I can wake up every day feeling confident I work for a company that I can be proud to be apart of. The ethics are strong, The support is amazing and I believe NS gives us the tools to take care of our responsibility to not only our owners but our communities.

I have been trying to contact someone at this place for days now. From what I can tell they don’t care about the tenants all they want is money. We lived at the Addison Apartments and let me tell you it was the worst experience ever. The water goes out at least 5 times a month and it’s never properly fixed. Kerrie ( property manager who needs to be replaced) made a 200.00 profit off of us because we moved into a 3 bedroom from a 2 bedroom and which was not properly finish. Oh and let me tell you about our pets that came with the apartment. Even though our apartment was not completely done and was rushed into the 3 bedroom due to Kerrie renting our 2 bedroom out ( we wasn’t even moved out yet ) we also had roaches. The roaches was so bad that we had to throw out a lot of our cabinet food. It’s constantly issue after issue with these apartments and they have the nerve to go up on rent when everything is breaking down. I hope Northstar calls me after this complaint because I will continue to make calls and work my way up until something gets done. Maybe a call to BBB will also be place but for know they need to get rid of the manager of the apartment.
I am a manager for NorthStar at The Flats at Julian Drew Block and I have been with the company for about 4 years. I started off as a independent contractor, then a leasing agent, then an assistant at two different properties before finally managing one of my own. I DO NOT live on site, but rather at a different NorthStar property (only because it has a yard for my dog) and I can speak from a tenants prospective on the matter. My work orders are always done within 48 hours, if for some reason it is not, I am notified. I love to use the pool and hot tub and always found them to be clean, along with the landscape and the laundry rooms. Bottom line is, if the manager is following NorthStar policies and procedures then you will have nothing but a rewarding experience living at any NorthStar property.
I agree with a lot of the reviews giving them a low rating as well as calling Northstar greedy or crooks (I would say both and throw in dishonest ). Management has been poor since they took over the property where I currently live and there have been more issues since then. Once my lease is up where I live, I will avoid renting from any property they own. I also feel that a 1 star is too high for them and negative ones would be about right (4 negative ones). They also attempt to scam tenants by convincing whoever it is that the tenant is responsible (including saying the tenant brought them in with no proof, claiming a policy that isnt on the lease applies to tenants, and/or making up policies on the lease that dont match the actual Arizona Statute). Also, get an attorney or contact Southern Arizona legal if they threaten you with eviction if you dont sign the payment arrangement as I was told I wouldnt have to sign it if I had of come to one place sooner.
I have work for NorthStar for almost 5 years, I started as a temporary help, after few months I got hired, now I work and live at one of the properties that NorthStar manages. Since is a local business, and Tucson based, the owner is visiting and caring about us(employees) very often. Ive enjoyed working and growing with this company and Ive made good friends over this years.

THE WORST MANAGEMENT EVER!!!Do NOT move into a Northstar managed apartment community. They SCAM you for your money. Can’t pay rent in split checks, can’t reach supervisor when treated unfairly, work orders almost never get processed (later resulting in a withheld deposit), etc. The old management was AWESOME till they fired her for caring for her tenants.They don’t care about you they care about your money $$$$DONT RENT FROM NORTHSTAR
I applied to rent from La Lomita. I was moving from out of state. They promised to have a unit ready for me. Not even two weeks before my move-in date, Naomi called me to inform me that my apartment would not be ready until two weeks after the date I needed the unit. After a rather disturbing go around with property manager Isabel, who was quite quite rude over the phone, they could not promise my unit would be completed. They agreed to renovate a unit, and had two months notification to get this done. I called multiple times and did not receive a response. I had to rent elsewhere. They left me high and dry. Maria, who is the only office employee with any level of customer service etiquette, offered to refund my application fee, after hearing that the manager did not call me back as promised. This management team is very unprofessional. They would not sign a lease ahead of time. Their manager Isabel is poorly informed about rental industry standards and the law. Who renovates and apartment without a signed lease? I am not comfortable moving across the country without a signed lease. Electronically signed leases are an industry standard and protect both the renter and management. I have no idea if they ever had a unit ready, however after Maria initiated a refund, her supervisor Isabel promptly cancelled it. Further, when I contested the charge with management and the credit card, they forwarded my ENTIRE application packet. They are not safe with your private information. This violated numerous privacy laws. I attempted to contact Northstar Management and the supervisors of La Lomita manager Isabel. I was unable to reach anyone at the office and was prompted to a general voicemail. Heed the warnings of the other reviews. I am much happier at another apartment managed by a more professional, and courteous team. Northstar, for your own benefit, please upgrade your rental process, and train your employees on customer service. As a prospective resident, I had a bad taste left in my mouth before I even began my move. Thanks a lot for leaving me high and dry.
Terrible managment company, cant even respond back to me about my discrepancy with my deposit, they are trying to charge me $680 for carpet replacement that was not necessary at all, in a 1bdr apartment. Do not rent from this property management company!!
I rent at Casas Adobes. My fiance and I were both on the lease together and after we split up she somehow wiggled out of the lease...I NEVER received any kind of notification of this. Obviously, I had trouble affording the place here and my student tuition. I got a second job and figured it was better off to just pay rent a couple weeks late and suffer the late fees with my extra income. However, TWO WEEKS after my rent was late, they taped a summons to appear in eviction court on my door. Im at the end of a 15 month lease and have 4 years of untainted rental history (13 months with them). I cant believe that after only 10 days of being late they started the eviction process. Their communication is HORRIBLE! Dont bother leaving a message because they will never do anything with it. They just care about bringing people in, but once your in beware! The google rating of 1.7 is much too high for them, personally. The apartment and facility is nice here, but there is absolutely no people skills with these people. I would just stay away from all NorthStar properties and any apartment complexes...they only care about a rent check, nothing else. Go rent a house or room from an actual person, there is no shortage and you will be treated right!
They are crooks please listen to the reviews I wish I would have. My credit that I’ve worked so hard to maintain is being jeopardized. I’ve paid months of rent without living there. I relocated because I was unsafe, after showing police reports and begging for help of any kind and I received nothing! I told them I would stay renting with them but needed to be relocated and told them I’d due anything! Now months later I’m receiving bills with outrageous charges that don’t even add up nor have the right year on the months they say I still owe 😂 this company is a joke.

I tried to contact North star about moving to another complex after the murder here, and they have refused to allow a move. Half of my neighbors have moved out and if I could afford it and the lease break fee Id be gone too.Its a shame Monterey Gardens has ruined my opinion of NorthStar. Ive only lived at NS properties since I moved to Tucson 6 years ago, but Ill never rent from them again.
Definitely read the reviews stayed at a apartment and dealt with one of their storage units. Overall horrible management of these properties. Google should really look into all these post from employees.
This is the worst property management company Ive ever encountered. Im at Pantano Villas and complaints are ignored or made to seem like they are unimportant. After my bathroom flooded they would not replace the wood vanity or even bring in a professional to check for mold. Now the weather is heating up and they want to charge me to have the bathroom checked for mold. This is after the mouse I had to kill myself, ant problem, broken bedroom door, shower door broken and the neighbors had bed bugs and they wouldnt do preventative treatment on my place. Also other neighbors get special treatment when it comes to the rules but the rest of us they enforce the rules all the way!Im keeping a list and documenting everything so I can take it to the BBB and state!
Do not ever lease a house from this company. Do not even put in an application. They cheated me and my roommate out of $200 which is a lot for college students. It took us over 3 months of calling and making visits to finally cancel our application for a house. They will take your money at every turn. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy.

John Is a good manager at prince plaza apartments,when i had any issues they were dealt with the same day.even the refrigerator, provided brand new one in two days !not a bad place and affordable!

Read the reviews! This company is terrible! Unless you work for them apparently. And those few employees who gave them 5 stars, were probably made to do so. But all the real reviews come from the unfortunate, like myself, who, of thier own free will, write a review to warn other people about this company. When North Star properties management company took over Copperhill Apartments, things went down hill fast. They started by taking away our heated pool, which was the reason I moved here 5 years ago. And they havent stop taking from the residents since, with all their money saving cutbacks, so they can line thier pockets. I could go on and on about what they have done here to save themselves money, but the savings never trickles down to the residents. If anything, we pay more and more and get less and less. Stay away from these properties if you possibly can!

If I could give Northstar Negative stars I WOULD. As a Service member these proffesionals ripped me off at every single turn. They backed out on having a military clause. Charging me 2K to move out..while I was already stressed out about to go to a deployed location. I learned my lesson, and will read the fine print next time.As for issues I had while living in their apartments:-Faulty Electrics-Hurry Up, Sloppy Job maintenance-Unresponsive Property Management-RUDE Management-Attempted to charge me for damage a stray cat caused to a window...This company has expressed some inherently rude and unprofessional behavior at their Mountain Village Apartments in Tucson, AZ. Military STAY AWAY. They will screw you over without a second thought.
I have lived Sahuaro Point Villas since September of 2015 (8 months), I have lived most of the time here with my roommates fighting to get the management to fix MANY issues such as heat and air for weeks sometimes months without. Recently withholding rent until fixed and then attempting to pay same day everything was fixed to be denied payment and be charged fees for being late. Showing management the emails and calls to the office trying t get maintenance to come fix the Ac, Heater, Hall lights stove etc.. and showing law stating that if living conditions are not met that I can withhold rent until fixed which means no late fees. They have refused to waive late fees, management refuses to speak to me, only being able to speak to receptionist other then 1 time. They are wait days to contact me back causing more late fees to be added on and site where payment is made has still not refunded rent paid that they are declining after a week. I am now being threatened with eviction due to their poor practice and refusal to speak to me (management). I have also been yelled at by receptionist over the phone and by receptionist at Sahuaro Point Villas site as well. She screamed at my roommates in front of new residents. She refused to send me my sign lease requested multiple ties and corporates number and her managers. when asked for nearly anything all that is received is attitude and never what you are actually trying to get.
If I could give 0 stars I would!My sister lives at CopperHill and we are very close. Our mom passed away a year ago so all we have are each other and our kids. We hang out daily and sometimes she will sleep over at my house and I will sleep over at hers. I work a lot and she watches my 4 month old for me so depending on my work schedule I am there early in the morning or late at night. Apparently Im not allowed to be at my sisters or sleep over because the manager Carla constantly harasses my sister and myself! This morning just right now I was parked in the front waiting for my sister to come out and get the baby and she handed me this bs parking sticker saying she was going to have my vehicle towed because my plates are expired! Yes they are expired but I have 30 day registration tags on them which technically are NOT expired by law! Anyhow, she accused me of living with my sis and I told her that Im allowed to visit my sister! She walked away like a coward muttering that she was gonna call my sister anmd Section 8. Shes a rude, nosey, meddling woman with nothing better to do but make false accusations and harass people. I was thinking about moving here myself when my lease is up but no thanks. Lol.
I am the on site manager at Monterey Gardens Apartments. Our property just became a Northstar Management Property. It has been a busy week with lots of new systems to learn, however, I am so impressed with the management team, how helpful and friendly everyone is and most important, I am so impressed with their dedication to the client whose properties we care for and our customers we serve. I will have a bit of a learning curve, but its worth it to know that every Northstar Property has rules and systems in place that you can count on for the very best service to client and customer. I am proud to be a Northstar Employee and to call Monterey Gardens Apartments my home.

Hello, I moved into Casa Adobes Apts. in 2012. It was very reasonable in price and the 1 bedroom apartment plenty big for me. I lived here and made friends here and folks were very nice and personable. We had a Manager named Theresa I believe and she was tough but kept things stable here and there were no issues. Along comes I think, October 2014 and new Manager comes in.... Things start going downhill as in it seems like Background checks or something went away..This is when Thefts of car break ins, Motorcycle thefts of parts and accesories started in.. Apartment Burglaries, drug deals in Parking lots, Brazen Gang graffiti on structures in the apts. happened, and Recently wash macines of all things were actually hole driled into and the Quarters stolen! Neighbor reported to me someone cut wires on his Harley Davidson Bike to try and Hot wire it last night! Complaints to Northstar Properties have gone unanswered!!
One Sorry Ass Star Rated..... Absolutely The Worst/ Non-communicating staff ever, @ Desert Cove Units.....Just this past February I filed out an application/ also sent a small application fee of $35.00 to occupy an apartment which still has tenants already living in the unit, I had previously spoken with this management on several occasions in regards of my needs & of needing an apartment immediately, Just Yesterday I decided to email this manager & asked why havent I received any types of phone calls/email notifications in regards of her (Rejecting My Application Due to Income based Guidelines, in which btw wasnt presented on the application?) I had no idea that Desert Cove has Income Restriction Code?) Any way, I never once received any types of email/phone calls telling me that this application was just (Rejected?) I automately assumed I had a chance of renting this up coming unit on March 31st when the old tenants were scheduled to vacate the premises?...... Any way,I found this to be very unfair/unprofessional on this managements behave to just denied me & my family a place to live without no notice from the beginning?)...... Smh... Definitely Completely pissed off by this?....simply because this manager & I had already spoken a month ahead of time about me having first bids on this up coming apt via March 31st?...... but only to find out I now have no place to move to this coming April?..... & Probably will not receive /have this application fee refunded @ all???.... If I had of known that I would be refused an apartment due income guidelines?.... I would have never applied to Desert Coves period!!!!.......Smh, Then After I was told of this rejection? this manager had the nerve to replied that if I ever received more income to re-apply again.....Lol, Wtf????...... Worst Mistake Ever Made with applying with this complex, & will definitely will re-apply with these thieves ever again in life!!....(((So, Do yourselves a favor & never apply with NorthStar Management & Avoid Theirs Properties With All Costs Strangers!!))).....Look Elsewhere, Dont Make the mistake I made with applying with Desert Cove Apts In Tucson!!
The upper off property managment for this company are the rudest, most uncaring, insensitive people I have ever come across, and this expierence is towards their own employees, which I am not and have never been.They treat their mid managment like idiots, whom I found to be likeable and personable.They berate their people in public places not in private offices.I will never again consider there properties for my housing accomadations.
NorthStars management practices are not just unethical, but illegal.Violated rental agreement (lease signed by both parties stated free utilities; however, they charged a fee). Falsely advertised property (free WiFi, free utilities, etc.). Divested themselves of the property without giving the required timely notice. Generally mismanaged the property during time in charge.Avoid at all costs!

I live here now at buen dia townhomes, this apartment is beautiful, but the management is very unprofessional, and the rent is way too high for this area, not to mention utilities are not included.
Ruined the community feel of the property. Got rid of the on site manager who knew everyone and their pet by name. Awful money hungry company.
