I have been bringing my cars here for years and love that I always get prompt and polite service. Their prices are comparable to everyone else in the area but here I dont ever feel like they are trying to sell me stuff I dont need. The car is ready when they say it will be, doesn’t go over the estimate without calling. I cant even come up with a single complaint about this place. 10/10 would recommend!

The service manager was very knowledgeable and even though we had an emergency repair to be done on a saturday he was courteous and immediate in helping us have the issue fixed immediately. i have been to a lot of places that have left a bad taste in my mouth but this shop is top notch and i highly recommend it to anyone that is considering going there

I brought my car to them late on Tuesday afternoon with a problem with one of my tires which caused the vehicle to be unsafe to drive. Even at the late hour, the Store Manager: Jay was so very kind, patient and helpful. He researched if I had Road Hazard insurance and spoke to me about all my options. He and his Technician: Phil could not have been more amazing. They took the vehicle into the shop, changed out the tire, balanced the new tire and made sure that the vehicle was safe and everything was aligned properly. I am a loyal customer to the Albany Central Ave Fire Stone, and now I am most certainly a new loyal customer of the Troy Fire Stone On Congress Street. I honestly would recommend Fire Stone to everyone based on the experiences I have had at both the Central Avenue location and the Congress Street location. Professional, Honest, kind and they get the work done correctly the first time!!!!!

Greatest place to get service done on your vehicle. The manager got us in the same day. We waited 30 to 45 minutes. My kids were everywhere and there was no problem with them being children. Needed a patch on one tire and after waiting over two hours for service, they refused to patch it and tried to sell me two new ones, claiming the tread on the edges was worn down. I might have fallen for it if I hadnt JUST taken it in for service a week earlier somewhere else who told me my tread was fine. Wasted a whole afternoon on my wife and my anniversary. Awful.

Provided great service. They had me in and out the same day and within 30 minutes. The front desk gentleman offered to save me $40 by applying for the credit card. I am not a fan of credit cards but I took the offer and paid it off as soon as the charge posted. Overall service was good. Much better than the next door location of Mavis.

Why do flat tires happen at the most inopportune time? I called on a Saturday, and was able to get an appointment right away, which is very unusual. All the staff were helpful and friendly. I recommend this location.

Good location - never had an problem with this particular franchise. They are conveniently located just stone throw away from Rensselaer DMV up-the-hill. As a result, I did most of my inspections and minor repairs here without any issues.

After asking for a hole in my tire to be plugged, I was notified that the sides of the tire was damaged beyond repair. The service representative said that the tire was not serviceable and refused to plug the leak. A best option tire was quoted for me to replace the tire for $125. After returning to pick up my car, they showed me the damage that made the tire not serviceable. This damage was due to road friction and only removed some text on the surface. A second opinion from an independent auto repair service showed that structural integrity of the tire was not compromised. Additionally, the tire that replaced mine had noticeably less tire tread, irregular tread wear, and dryrot. While the representative did not specifically say that this tire was new, I believe, given the price comparable to a new tire, it was a reasonable assumption. The bill also had no mention of the tire being used. I plan to go to a different auto service center to put on my original tire and share my experience of my visit.Overall the staff was courteous and professional. With the added fact that my previous visit was the installation of a faulty wheel bearing, I cant help but be skeptical of their business. I would only go here in the future if I was desperate.

Waited across the Street in the freezing cold at Mavis where I usually go, just to get 2 tires changed along with other customers. I guess the manager was running late because they didn’t open at the time they had posted on the doors. So the Guys at Firestone waved us over to Firestone and got everybody in and out super fast!!! Great Service, very knowledgeable, but prices can be a little better. This is how a business should run! I recommend this place.

On my way from Maine to RPI to pick up my son, my Honda Odyssey developed a loud banging noise in the rear passenger side wheel. The noise was so serious I thought for sure that I was in a really bad situation. I finally limped into Troy and was incredibly relieved that I made it okay. After spending the night at a hotel I pulled into Firestone Auto Care first thing in the morning. I felt incredibly vulnerable as I had no idea who I could trust. I thought how easy it would be for some auto repair place to take advantage of me being so far from home. I choose Firestone based on the reviews and I knocked on wood. Well, short story even shorter...I went off to breakfast while they looked at the car and when I returned, the van was parked ready to go. The manager at the cashier explained that a bolt had come loose and the brake pad had been banging around making the racket that I heard. The cost for labor and installing the new bolt? $14.99. I had to ask twice for the manager to repeat himself to make sure I understood him. Need I explain more why I rate Firestone Complete Auto Care with 5 stars?

We are big fans of Firestone for their professionalism, prices, and speed. We are never disappointed, and this location is very convenient for us. My wife and I went to breakfast around the corner while they did inspections and oil changes on 2 vehicles. We came back in 30 minutes and they were ready for us. Thanks guys!

Someone had recommended that I come here because theyve had great experiences recently. Apparently the person he dealt with wasnt there today (or I did not see him if he was). My check engine light was on and my brakes were squeaking so I asked them to take a look. I was there for about a half hour and they charged me $118 just to plug their machine in to see why my check engine light was on and to inspect my brakes. They quoted me over $500 just for new front brake pads and $200 for a new thermostat and $100 for coolant fluid exchange. I took the estimate and ran but they still got $118 out of me for a simple inspection of my vehicle. I already set up an appointment elsewhere where they dont rip you off with ridiculous prices.

It was wonderful my sister and I came in with no appointment for oil change and inspection they said it would be about an hour well we decided to wait in the waiting room chit chat with the neighbors I had a wonderful time before you knew at the time was up and Ill call was ready they did a wonderful job and I recommend their services to everybody Firestone keep up the good work

I walked in to ask if they were available to change a light on my car and a gentleman gave a smart remark. Clearly this place isn’t customer friendly based on the attitude I just received. Got a bad first impression and would recommend people to go to family owned mechanics versus corporate ones with rude employees.

While driving cross country we developed a bulge in our back tire.It was Friday evening when we wobbled into Troy, hoping to get to New Hampshire that night and our new house in the following day. Time was of the essence. We stopped at Firestone, and they were closed early for an employee meeting, but they opened their doors and got us a new tire within 15 minutes so that we could be on our way again.Great, fast service for which well be grateful for a very long time!

I was not to happy with the service i got from them and will not be going back ever again.now i been working on my cars for year and never take them to the shops or dealer unless i need a inspection done or tires that it everything esle i do myself sorry i just dont really trust any shops working on my vehicle i take more care in my work cuz my money is invested as well as my family being safe from point a to point b so anyways i bring my vehicle in for it inspection to get done i get a phone call stating that the vehicle did not pass due to the need of new brake pads and rotor on the front and back the price will be$1,000 for everything now this is a 94 honda accord it not that bad but the front rotors can be a little pain so i took it home and went to go check out the brakes i checked the rotors thickness on the front and back that was both within spec pads was good in rear and needed to be replaced in the front so i went to autozone and and got both front and back pads just because they was a good price and i like to do things all together just to have peace of mind and to know how my brakes are performing over the long term so i changed them and then it pass but i didnt take it back here firestone trying to get money from people that know the mechanic side of things.im really disappointed with there service i would NOT RECOMMEND going here unless you want to give your money away for unnecessary parts and labor just for them to make a bucket.NEVER AGAIN!!!

I lost the cap to my tire air outlet and one of the guys at Firestone was so kind and helped me get another one. He was super sweet about it and I would definitely get any repairs done at this location because of how great their customer service is.

This is my second time here. My car has staggered wheels and tires. They put them in the wrong positions - front and back tires swapped, maybe wheels as well I dont know. I had to wait another 1 hour in the shop for them to figure out the right things. Without me pointing them out the tires were mounted on the wrong wheels, they simply swap the front and rear wheels without changing out the staggered tires. This was probably the worst experience I had with a shop. However, they took $ off my bill which bought some satisfaction back. Update the second day: I found a thumb size piece of rubber ripped off from one of the tires. I had taken pictures for tires before they changed them out. So its definitely from there. Unacceptable.The first time they made some scratches on four of my wheels.Price was reasonable, which was the reason I was here. But never again.

They are great! They went above and beyond the normal. I bought all four tires from them for my SUV and they informed me that there was work needed to be done in the future. The service was fast and very friendly.

I had scheduled an appointment today to purchase 4 new tires and to have installed on my vehicle. I was told that my vehicle was too unsafe to have the tires installed and I needed a litany of repairs before I would be sold the tires. When I refused to agree to such repairs and questioned the whole process I was asked to leave and was told to not come back to this store. I am a regular customer at another location and came to this store out of convenience. The whole experience was questionable to say the least. I would not recommend patronizing this location . By the way, I was able to purchase tires and have them installed at another tire center with no problem.

The racist gentleman in the service department that yells across the lot at my dog and I every morning is a real charm. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. If negative stars were possible, I’d certainly leave a couple.UPDATE:I ran into one of the managers at this location, Dan. We had a very pleasant chat about the entire situation. The issue was resolved and I will defiantly be giving this branch another go. Dan and the rest of the remaining staff are great!

This is undeniably the worst place I have ever been. I had tires sent here from tire rack. They put on the new tires and looked at my power steering issues. They replaced frayed belts with new ones that were dry rotted so bad I had to get them replaced again three months later. My original set of tires and wheels on the car had security lugs on each wheel that they never gave back to me. They left several of their tools in my car including half a set of socket wrenches. My lug nuts from the previous wheel set were left strewn about the trunk under my old wheel set. The staff were constantly bickering with each other and complaining behind each others backs. I pity anyone unfortunate enough to have to work there or deal this this place.

I dont usually type reviews, but felt compelled to share my experience. I went into the shop because my exhaust system needed work. I figured while I was there I would also get an oil change and inspection. I was informed I needed a new exhaust system from the cat converter back, which I expected, and 2 rear tires, which I also new were bad shape, but also needed front brakes and rotors, being the car is a 2001 it was to be expected. They originally quoted me at 1550 for everything, but I didnt have that much, so the manager really helped me out by adding additional discounts, and ordering me a different cheaper cat converter. That brought the cost down to 1200 which was very reasonable, as they were working on the they exhaust system they noticed my brake lines were very rusty and in bad shape. They didnt feel comfortable sending me on my way with the brake lines in that condition, nor did I. They originally quoted me 300 to replace all the brake lines, but again them knowing I am very short on funds agreed to do it for 100 which was extremely generous on their behalf, unfortunately being an older car complications arouse. The brake booster was stripped and in bad shape, so they ordered me a new one, at no additional cost. The car was there for 4 days because of the added complications that occurred due to unforeseen complications. They were very apologetic and kept me informed daily as of the current situation, but in all fairness it was I that felt bad, here they were trying to help me out, and my car was fighting every step off the way, when the work was done I went to get my car, and they only charged me to original quote of 1200, they did not even charge me for the replacement off all the brake lines. They sunk many man hours into the car on their dime because they wanted me to be not only happy with the work that was done, but to drive a car that was safe. I am very grateful for their dedication, honesty, and generosity. I would especially like to thank Dashaun he was the mechanic that worked on my vehicle. He went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy, even offering me a ride home when I had trouble getting a ride home the day I dropped the car off. I also want to say that the 2 managers I worked with Ryan, and Dan were very professional, even offering me something to eat when I had to sit in the waiting area for a few hours, all in all we all hate when we have car problems, but I highly recommend the TROY firestone team, and I am definitely going to be a repeat customer

This business has humored the maintenance of my clunky, used-and-continuously-abused 05 Impreza for an entire year of everything from oil changes to transmission replacement. The manager, technicians, and desk employees are outstandingly communicative and punctual; they always remember my face and my schedule. As an oblivious but curious first-time car owner, Im extremely grateful to have this shop only a stones throw from my downtown apartment.

This Firestone shop was awesome - I stopped in due to my front tires giving out and were already losing air. I was essentially stranded in this town until it was fixed... Nathan was the first to see me, so I explained my situation. He told me two hours for the fix but would get me in and out as soon as possible. I visited Riverfest during this time and came back 1.5 hours later to my car already sitting out front, ready to go. On top of that, Nathan worked a better deal for me because the warranty wouldnt have helped much.Saved me time and money, plus getting me in midday on a Saturday - couldnt have asked for more!

I have been going to this paticular Firestone because this is closest to my home and jobs. Had 2 cars inspected and they came up with $5000 work that was needed to pass inspection. Said I needed all four break pads, callipers, and routers replaced when just 3 weeks ago I had a new break pad and calliper put on one wheel and the mechanic said the other three were still fine. I think they exaggerate things or outright lie to get you to spend a lot of money there. go to someone you can trust.

My go to auto repair since my GMC warranty expired. I drop off my car and walk a minute to work always done agead of time. The technicians are seasoned and very skilled. Prices for auto repair are not cheap, but you cant put a price on peace of mind!

I was low on oil and stopped in. The service rep, Scott, was more than willing to help. He looked for major leaks, topped off the oil and offered to set me a reservation for a further look over.

The staff are very friendly and incredibly helpful. They make sure to get you what you need but arent trying to sell you in on unnecessary fixes.

Great quote had my tires swapped and aligned the quote was what I paid. I was nervous because of some reviews but my experience was great they finished 5 min earlier than expected, the customer service was great I had so much help from Ryan C and Nate K never had such a great experience when having anything done with my tires on top of that the place was clean and beautiful. Soooo glad I came here!Update:The only Firestone I ever go to and walk in and out happy and feeling like they know what they are doing, honest, I got what I paid for and then some. Dan S and Ryan C were amazing as always! I got the top of the line new all season tires and with the rebate Visa card end up spending the same I would for the lower type of tire. Not only do they rip you off but make sure you dont have anything valuable left in your vehicle when you go there. Had $100 in my Army bag in the event of an emergency. All they were suppose to do was my tires. Left the bag under my passenger seat and when I got the vehicle back it was on the seat empty. Not only did they have me over pay for tires but took my emergency funds from my ARMY bag under my seat. What disrespect to our military and the people of the community. I highly recommend not to go there. Their store manager backed them up too instead of investigating and resolving the issue.

Went for tires...of course ended up with other stuff wrong. Still having sum wobbling even after the second balancing they did. Labor costs are reasonable but the prices they charge for parts are ridiculous and a rip off.

I will never trust this shop to do any serious work on my vehicle. After a week or so of driving around with a sound coming from my front end, in a 2013 with 40,000 miles on it, I brought my car in for a diagnostic and quote. Thirty minutes later I get a call back. I work half a block away from the shop and walked over to receive the news. $1900 in repairs! One caliper was destroyed, so I might as well replace both in the front end. $700. Bearing in the front right was the cause of the noise. $400. All brakes and rotors need immediate replacement. $800. Being told the issues were not immediately pressing, as was my concern (I had plans to travel 300 miles the following day) I scheduled a diagnostic with Vons. An hour after droppong my car off, copy of quote in the hands of a competent mechanic, I was told I did indeed need brakes and rotors. The cause of the noise? Not a wheel bearing. Those are designed to last THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. The brakes have a scratch plate notifying you of the need for service, thus the cause of the noise in the first place. The calipers? The mechanic explained that there was not a single piece of evidence of a single issue with any of the four. Had there been, there would still be zero reason to replace both. He showed me the even wear on all of the brake pads and the surface of the scratch plate and where it hit the rotor causing the noise which he replicated in front of me. Final cost? $500. I was informed Firestone is commission based, and likely they never even diagnosed anything but the brakes, tacked on the suoerfluous caliper replacement, and explained away the noise with an moderately high priced replacement of a bearing to tack on more labor and profit. This would have TRIPLED my repair bill. For no reason. If I need an alignment, or a convenient oil change, Ill find a shop that isnt a bunch of crooks. Seriously, dont go here.

I had to file acomplaint with the BBB. I hope I do not have to go to NYS DMV complaint form VS-35. I want Firestone to review the work and fixit.

I feel terrible about this place. I am a kind woman, kind to everybody and never prepare to judge anybody and any company. But, I have to say, they are bad people, the sales there. I go for a normal inspection .then they make up a list of three parts(the former pads, the later pads and the left airbag) for change that your car dont need(the former ower has told me the car needs nothing and he is a really good man). the inspection fee on that list is free. I told them i will pay the inspection fee and let me go. They warned me if i do this, they must take away my inspection note that i got from DMV and they must report to DMV that my car doesnt work, it will be trouble to me. I was scared and difficult to decided. Finally, I payed them 430 dollars for the change. However, when i sign on the final paper, I found that the three parts are different, no airbag on the list, and some oil(i remember some thing like that) change take the third place. and the inspection fee included. The worst thing is, i drive the car for 10 days before, no check light, but when i come back from their inspection and replace of my cars parts, the check light flashes. I must tell other people. It is not a good place for your car. see it.

I first took my car in with a nasty wobble after the dealership rotated my tires; Firestones rebalance made it vanish on the first try. Second experience was to resolve a clank coming from inside the tire itself.Dont know if the wheel weight slipped inside due to the balance or from back at Town Fair Tire months ago, but this Firestone team de/remounted the tire, let me check inside for damage myself, and rebalanced it all with no hassle and no expense.Plus, I overheard them sharing the (verified) tip that 3rd party Subaru CV axles often cause new vibrations; now they only recommend OEM new or reman ones, saving customers repeat visits!
