The mechanical service seems to be good, but doesn’t make up for not being able to reach anyone by phone or message. One is forced to make a physical trip to the (Hoosick Street) location for information/updates. A huge drawback. We are all busy in this modern life, no excuse.
They always take good care of me, and their waiting room is comfortable. They are friendly and welcoming. I get in and out efficiently, and they are honest. Recently I went in to get new tires, and they told me that my car needed several repairs. Then I decided not to get the tires and to look into a new car. Other businesses might not have given me the same advice. They provide a loaner car when needed and have Saturday service options. I highly recommend them!
So I didn’t bring my car in for the north pole tire rotation and typical service I brought it in to get it lifted and I am glad I brought it to SUBARU rather than another place just for the peace of mind that there are Subaru techs working and making sure that my car safe everything is installed correctly. Plus it was something new for them and the nailed it!. The fact Everybody was as excited as I was about how the installation turned out just speaks volumes on the positivity and community that they have at the dealership. So big shout out to Andy for everything and making sure everything went smoothly and my man Frank for the installation!
Members of the service department should have retraining in the proper ways to greet and treat customers. I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership and had a warning light come on. I brought the vehicle in to be checked. As soon as I arrived members of the service team told me that they would prefer people make appointments and not just show up in the express service location. When I explained the warning light the customer service staff member kept coming up with reasons that the light may be on and appearing to be dismissive of my concerns about the light. The entire experience made me feel as if I was simply inconveniencing the service department. Carbone should consider getting out of the service aspect of car sales if this is how they treat customers who purchase cars at their location and then also purchase service contracts.
We had a wonderful experience buying our car at Carbone with Allison . Unfortunately despite spending more money for an extended warranty we’ve had terrible service at Carbone . The screen in our 2020 outback stopped working. We brought it in for repair, there was no car to loan us, despite being promised we would have that when purchasing our car and extended warranty, no one called to tell us what was wrong when it was in for service, we called multiple times, finally reached someone who said the part had to be ordered . We called 2 weeks later to find out the status and again left messages, no return phone calls . Finally reached a salesperson who promised a manager would call back within 15 minutes - no call .Not sure what to do or where to go after spending over $40k on a new car with warranty - definitely wouldn’t ever recommend this dealer .
I so love this place and everyone here is so nice and respectful & also helpful .. I love mark is a nice guy and also very handsome .. If you need to Finance a car he the man to go .. Also sell man Ralph and doc are so helpful and a great sell man, I’ll definitely recommend anyone to go here I love cargo single Carbone Subaru #1 ..
Took my new Outback into Carbone for its first service. It was a very poor experience, but Im not sure they could have done any better. Took a month to get an appointment. Then I waited almost 2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. Service advisors only started a couple of weeks ago - took 20 minutes just to get my paperwork and pay. They seem to have been hard hit by the severe parts and labor shortage. So as I said, Im not sure they can do any better. Just be aware, be patient. Good service is not available right now.
I purchased a 2021 Forester Limited,3 mos.ago,one of my better decisions.Its full of safety features,and boast a smooth ride. However I must mention the Carbone dealership staff.In particular my sales person,Rudy C.who provided the much needed support and guidance I needed for my new ride. Also the entire sales transaction was very smooth.For making a huge financial investment,this kind of interaction is needed.
I will not be returning here for service ever again because the mechanic gashed my driver side front wheel while swapping my tires. I’ve called a couple times because I personally don’t like being mean about it. Never heard anything for a couple weeks, then I showed up for an inspection and still no one has bothered to help with their screw up……Now I bought my car here, and super unhappy with the service here…. There’s no excuse.

I had my car in for a recall. Mike was very courteous and friendly, and kept me posted on the status of the job, estimated to be three hours since it was Saturday. The recall was fixed, oil changed and tires rotated, PLUS a complimentary car wash, all in under 2-1/2 hours.I had a comfortable place to sit and read (could also have watched television) with a (free) cup of hot chocolate. I noted they also had free WIFI if I had been so inclined.The experience was very much in keeping with the service Ive received since purchasing my car 3-1/2 years ago. I will definitely keep returning for such outstanding service.

I was recently in a collision that totalled my last car. John Julian went above and beyond to get me in another Subaru as quickly as possible, to the point of driving it to my home so I could take delivery. Im normally underwhelmed with the service at Carbone, but John has changed my opinion of the sales team for the positive.
Doc Johnson was an awesome, prompt salesman who helped me out of my old vehicle and into a newer, nicer vehicle. The best part is my payments barely changed! My fiance and I just purchased a Subaru Outback. We had Jacob VanBuren as our salesman. Everything went smoothly. He was excellent at explaining everything we wanted to know about the different models we were interested in purchasing. He made it easy to understand everything and we never felt pressured. After we decided on the Outback, he went over everything in minute detail and showed us all the different components of the vehicle. Mr. VanBuren made the whole process smooth and easy. Carbone Subaru gets high ratings and it is easy to see why. I spent about 3 months researching the different vehicles on the market, and once I decided to go with Subaru, I researched the dealerships. The high marks and prompt response I got from Carbone made it an easy choice. Weve had the Outback for a few days and we are thrilled with it. Good job Carbone!
I bought a new Subaru Outback from Carbone in the fall of 2020. The process could not have been easier. We went in that day to car shop (during the height of the pandemic) and we felt completely safe throughout the car buying process. Our salesperson, Norah Frenyea, was top notch. Unsure of what exactly we wanted, we initially asked to test drive one of the smaller cars. When we changed our minds (TWICE!) Norah was happy to show us different options and allow us to test drive two other cars before we made our final decision. Norah was so helpful with all of our questions both about car features, etc. as well as the financials when it came to purchasing the vehicle. She even checked on us a couple days later to see how we were enjoying our new ride! The experience was great from start to finish. We would certainly recommend buying a vehicle from Carbone and it will be the first place we go in the future. Thanks to Norah and Carbone for our beautiful ride!

Not great experiences here. I bought a maintenance package with my new car and was told I could use it at any Subaru location which was not true. I brought my car in for a standard 6000 mile service today. I had an appointment and after waiting for 2 hours for the car to be finished, I decided to check the status of the car. Nearly all of the maintenance attendants had gone to lunch and when I found my attendant he said, “Oh I totally forgot you were here”… During another maintenance service, they lost my keys. Not all that impressed with the service here, but I do like my car a lot.
Nora was amazing to work with! She took the time to help us find the right car and then took care of all the little details it takes to get into a new car. She even found the exact car I wanted and had it shipped in for me. 10/10 recommend 😃

Overall, my experience wasn’t terrible. I don’t go there unless if I absolutely need to and I had to go for a recall on my vehicle. They did try to sell me on things and kept saying that I needed an oil change even though I just got one last month. Again, not terrible, but I hate how they always try to get me to agree to have unnecessary things done just to make a few bucks.
Best car buying experience I ever had! Rudy was my salesperson and patiently answered a million questions with expert product knowledge and a great sense of humor. Since I had to drive my new Subaru off the lot that day, he worked out every detail seamlessly to save me time. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and helpful, great place to shop.
The used Subaru we bought here several years back is a gem, plus weve had excellent experience with the service dept -- and especially this Sep 2021 thanks to service advisor Andy M whos exceptionally knowledgeable and professional.
I completely understand being understaffed during these times, but when you cannot reach your car dealership for days upon days and leave countless messages without a response there is an issue. When I have gotten a sales person on the phone and explained my situation they told me that they would have a sales manager call back, which never happened. It is hard to get things taken care of and maintenance done to your car when you cannot communicate with anyone. This was happening prior to them being understaffed too. Not to mention, I have had issues in the past where I was told “there was nothing that they could do”. Not happy with the customer service and will not be returning
Carbone is an excellent dealership but trying to talk to someone in the service department is next to impossible. Leaving messages doesnt help much as when I have they were not returned in the same day. I have never been able to secure one of the promised loaner cars. Scheduling service on line works fine and once you are in the service department they are top notch. But the communication to them is a real let down. I know how busy everyone is but this problem needs to be addressed and resolved. Until then, I cannot give a glowing review even though I would like to!
The dealership is top notch. Norah is stellar and a great person to work with. My wife and I couldn’t agree on a car but Norah was supportive in my decision to buy the car I wanted. My wife and I are getting a divorce now but with my new car I’m sure I’ll be making some heads turn.

Standard dealership trying to squeeze any dollar they can find. You need a new cabin air filter for $60. Oh wait I changed it myself by buying a 3 pack online for $20 and spent the 3 minutes to change it. I paid for their ilife (or whatever it is called) so I dont have to pay for oil changes but somehow they came up with over $500 charges to try and trick people into paying more money. But as I said at the beginning that is every dealership out there and enough people that fall for the scams.

Everyone at the dealership was very professional and were great through out the whole process from the time I walked in, to when the vehicle was delivered. Kevin was apologetic to the situation, listened, and seemed sincere in his desire to fix the problems I experienced. Additionally, he was receptive to helping find me the car I wanted, though ultimately, the current automotive manufacturing situation globally stifled his efforts. I had a good experience speaking with Mr. Hoagland and hopefully any issues leading to my initially experience will be remedied.Original review (9/20/2021)My experience at Carbone Subaru of Troy was not pleasant. I inquired about the availability of a specific car. I was told the car was available (turns out is wasnt) and scheduled an appointment for the very next day. I arrived at the dealership at my appointed time to be told that the car was in fact not available. I was told a miscommunication occurred. I say negligence and incompetency occurred as I was checked on by my contact, Customer Care Rep Matt Capistrano, multiple times throughout the day leading up to the appointment, with zero mention of the car I asked about actually not being available. I travelled 2 hours to see this car. In an effort to expedite the process, I had previously filled out as much information as possible online prior to my appointment including a finance application. This resulted in a pull on my credit, which wasnt necessarily surprising, but when I brought this up with person I was working with face-to-face, which was not the person I had previously been in contact with, they denied that a credit inquiry had taken place. I spoke with the Financial Manager, Miles Murray, who again insisted that a credit inquiry wouldnt have taken place with just filling out the online form. When I showed him the inquiry alert, he was surprised and unsure as to why that happened, and would look into it. Between the Financial Manger and the Customer Care Rep it is apparent that having knowledge relevant to your job description is not a prerequisite to being in that position at Carbone Subaru of Troy. The person I dealt with at the dealership, Sohail William, was fine. He was nice, patient, and tried to find answers to my questions concerning my disappointing, supremely frustrating, and completely preventable, experience at Carbone Subaru of Troy. I will not be using nor recommending any of the Carbone auto group.

I had an appointment today to fix two previously identified issues. But then I added on two more issues to be checked and fixed if needed and both were needed. It was all done in good time. My service adviser Josh H. was great and got everything done in record time. He kept me updated with the status. Very happy with service provided.
Very disappointing. True bait and switch. I had scheduled an appointment for a test drive on a vehicle. Drove 1.5 hours to get there. Had been in touch with the internet sales consultant about 1 hour before my appointment. I got to the dealer, the salesman brought the car around to the front then said, sorry it sold earlier today. someone could have called, texted or emailed.Then he tried to show me a different car, more expensive, with body damage and not a clean accident history.Never going back or recommending.

Prepare for buyers remorse. Service is amazing slow. Prices are high, and worse of all they are one of the very very few Subaru dealers to not have a 30day return policy.

Where do I begin. I was looking for a family car with having 2 kids. I wanted something that was big and would fit my family in it. So I called to see if I can look at a couple. Just bought my firstt Subaru ever from Subaru in Troy while working with NORAH for a few days to find the right car with the right whistles and bells that I was looking for. What a breath of fresh air. Car shopping can be so stressful. Norah was so personable and charismatic during the whole process. The one thing I am most impressed with was after the sale. She kept in touch and is always available to answer my questions and help with any service appointments I need to make. I have referred her to many friends and family.
Customer service is terrible. Kept my car for 4 days and did not find or fix the issue I was describing. Instead they put 140 miles on my car and left it on empty and gave me list of other things they could fix in the meantime. They refused to reimburse me for the gas it took for me to get home but I had to fill the tank of the loaner before returning it to them. Not to mention it is nearly impossible to get anyone to answer the phone when you call. Will not be returning here.
Nobody answers the phone. Inside they have 100 salesmen working and a single person manning the phones. Shows where their priorities are. If you arent there to buy a car they treat you like garbage. Avoid at all costs.

Zach Brennan was my salesman and was very thorough, showed me what I wanted, kept it in my budget, and was very attentive.I knew I wanted to purchase here because Carbone came highly recommended by a few friends. My boyfriend thought the entire experience was terrific too, and he may even get a Subaru now too!

So far so good. Find a car my daughter liked and made a deal. A found a couple minor mistakes in the paperwork which will hopefully get sorted today. Ill update when the deal is done
