We have had issues in other area gyms with men harassing us, so we moved here. Almost immediately, we had the same issue happen again, and we felt we needed to just continue to find another gym once again. Upon reporting it to staff, soon after the manager Brianne called us. She took complete charge of the situation, and reassured us her gym is a no tolerant place for this kind of behavior and took measures into her leadership hands. We want to say, just the fact that she is a woman manager makes all the difference and cannot express that she is truly a very darn good manager. Just because someone is a manager does not mean they are good at it in our experience going to gyms nationwide for many years. With Brianne, we want to say it feels good walking in the gym knowing she is there, therefore we will continue to go. Not to mention, her staff is nice. We have seen the opposite so many times in other gyms and its annoying to say the least. It feels like an old school gym, if this makes sense. Its clean and the energy all around feels welcoming and refreshing compared to so many other gyms where you feel like you dont really want to be there because the atmosphere feels toxic etc...we feel it starts at the top leadership for sure. Anyway, dont hesitate to try this gym out, especially for ALL women. Train with Nick, he is great and super nice.
Read the fine print - their basic plan does not include the r-ball courts, pool, sauna and steam room. And their steam room has been out of service for sometime now. And youll learn this after you have signed up.
Hours are some what limited at this location, the staff nice, location very clean. They have a salon inside, Amazon pick up location inside too!Seems to be a good flow of people not crazy busy but just enough to keep you motivated to exercise 😉
Not as nice as the others. Older crowd. Staff is rude. Never acknowledges you walking in or responds to a hello. The Mexican lady at the front desk is the rudest of them all. There is an esporta on dobson and Warner. Go there. This one is rude, unfriendly, and the old heads think its their personal gym.
Friendly folks, lots of machines and weights. Nice programs.
I am the cleaner here and my boss is amazing. My cleaning crew is just as amazing and I love them. You, the clients can be majorly insecure but thank God I can work with music. Small, cozy, a lot to offer great trainers. Worth a visit!
I have been working-out with new trainer James and he is so knowledgeable and gives 100% . Knows lot about body and changes workouts every time and very motivating trainer this place ever had. I love the way he says, he cares about his clients and I experienced that with this trainer. Hope he stays and continues to inspire members to workout with his training.
Clean and welcoming may have been the only 1 wearing a mask but I did not feel uncomfortable
If I could give 0 stars to this place I would. Didn’t know a gym would try so hard into scamming people out of money.
This location is a smaller than some of the others in the area. Doesn’t have some of the exercise equipment i needed. More of a gym for older people who are looking for a light workout. Was clean and less people than my usual gym!
This location seems lax concerning Covid. You would think being closed three of the last four months, and having had to shut down a second time only one month after reopening, would make an organization take simple steps, such as enforcing their mask policy, to prevent further spread of the virus, even if only for financial reasons. But today I saw several people with noses hanging out or masks dangling from one ear. An EMPLOYEE was even walking around with his mask down under his chin, talking on the phone. An employee. Of an organization that is supposed to be focused on health. Think about that. Not talking on the phone behind his desk away from people working out, but actually walking around the gym, unmasked, talking on his phone, potentially spreading the virus to his customers. To their credit, this Esporta location has abundant sanitizer, but this is primarily an airborne virus. Sometimes, but not consistently, this location does temperature checks when you arrive, but those are meaningless if someone is pre- or asymptomatic. Simple enforcement of the mask policy is still the best way to prevent another shutdown. This Esporta seems not to take that very seriously.
Do not sign up! Management is absolutely horrendous! Ive been trying to cancel membership for a week and I cannot get a hold of the Manager. They keep on taking my information down for him to call me back and yet nothing. Even when I try to call back he is somehow Busy all the time. Go sign up down the street at EOS for a lower payment and a better gym with personal that does care...
Clean gym. Great for exercise! Under 10 a month. Need i say more? :)
Waited for over an hour on a Saturday and nobody show up up to open the gym. Supposedly they open 8am...
L cancelled a few months ago, they were still charging me. I called my card company to say I had cancelled it so they gave me a temporary credit. A week or so ago, the gym had the audacity to call and say this months payment wasnt going thru, I said it was cause I cancelled 2 months ago. That day they said they finally cancelled. Fast forward to now I get a notification for my dispute with my card for the unwarranted charges turned, and the gym reversed it on me saying they were valid charges. (:
The staff is amazing, I’ve been working out with the trainer James’s and it’s amazing. So glad to be working out at this location
Do not hire Antonio as a personal trainer he is very unprofessional, poor energy, and does not take his job seriously. The gym employees explained that this is isn’t the first complaint about him but yet still have him as an employee. Wasted way to much money for pure trash! I do not recommend hiring a personal trainer from this facility at all. If zero stars could be given they would be!
Great gym location
Nice gym. Friendly staff!
Joined this gym February 1st and I’ve been doing personal training 3-4x a week. I get a great workout every time. I signed up with Stan and would highly recommend him to get the best deal for your fitness goals.
The fitness center is amazing. Its LA Fitness on steroids
Great potential for a really nice club. It has a nice layout with open spaces, well maintained and working equipment, decent flow for workouts; and most people are friendly. IMHO, regardless of membership revenue decline, LA Fitness could invest in pride of ownership with on-site management staff and contract external cleaning and greeting staff. The two front desk staff could put down their phones to clean the bathrooms and greet incoming guests. This could be a bright, modem and fun club.
Esporta is formerly known as LA Fitness and what I like about it is not just the fact they have all the machines and free weights you could want, along with great pool, spa wet and dry saunas but this location is not as crowded so you can do your workouts with out having to take a spot in queue. Basketball court is popular and they have racquetball courts if thats your thing. The staff are always friendly and will answer any question you might have. The trauners are also nice to work with and helpful. They have classes also...so qhsts not to like about that?
Great smaller LA Fitness. Usually not too packed when I go alone so Im able to get in, get to work, and get out. I love the simplicity and convenience of this location
One of the few locations in the east valley with a steam. Place was remodeled, looks great, staff is somewhat friendly but more on the quiet side. Really love this gym. Its never too busy.
Don’t try coming on a Saturday and expect the gym to open at 8am. They literally never get here on time. There’s tons of people waiting outside.
Its okay. Plain looking thats for sure. This place needs more color as far as appearances go. As for equipment theyve got what you need. Great trainers too.
This LA Fitness gym has been here for ages. By ages I mean you would go here back in the day when Red Hot Chili Peppers were topping the charts and listen to Scar Tissue while you were on the treadmill. Wow what nostalgia this place can bring.
Really nice an clean gym compared to other LA fitness gyms around the area. The equipment is top of the line and well maintained. Its never too crowded which is nice because you can really focus on your workout. The staff is mostly really nice and welcoming which is rare in LA Fitness gyms so that puts this gym ahead of the others.
Love it
Really nice people here, they are all really helpful. The gym itself needs an upgrade but still a cool place, near by everything, patient and understanding folks working here not to mention the eye candy in the morning. 😏
I do like this LA Fitness. Its equipped with standard LA Fitness things, including the pool, but what I really like about this one is its dry-sauna (not the steam room). The dry-sauna here sits at about 205 degs, so its a hot one. And fewer people use it, so its not worn out. The dry-sauna is where you can sweat out and better manage your own water hydration & weight.
I tried to find out what the cheapest membership was with LA Fitness. {That should be OK}. I only wanted access to a lap pool, nothing else. Not sure who I got the first time I called, but on that first call, after pressuring me to come in to the gym for my question to be answered, I was told she had no time to talk to me because she was the only one there {around 3:15 PM on a Friday...August 7, 2015}. I said Id call back later. When I called back a few hours later and got Priscilla. I told her I could only afford the cheapest membership and just wanted to use a lap pool. I asked the price their most basic membership with access to the pool.Instead of answering my question, she asked me if there are other gyms that I go to. What, ?I told her I had no idea why shed ask me that. Priscilla said something about how people do this or that with various gyms, { I COULD CARE LESS, AND THANKS FOR THE WEIRDNESS}. Anyway, is it any of their business how many gyms anyone belong to ? I dont think so. Unless Im living in some other country, but I think this is still the USA. Land of the free. But I just wanted to use a lap pool, and was being accused of something.I told Priscilla, I cant believe youre asking me WHAT I do, and I dont appreciate being accused of anything. She replied, Well, YOU called ME. Yeah, genius, except Id called to find out your basic membership fee, I didnt call in order to be insulted and interrogated. Stunning level of maturity there. High professionalism from Priscilla. Way to go. I hung up on her.I walk with a cane and thought swimming would be good exercise. I could swim even though walking is difficult. Ive seen gyms before I dont need to go through a hard-sell attempt to get me to sign up for things I dont need and cant do. Id love to use a lap pool, but I couldnt get past the idiocy of two of the people who work at this place. And I have to assume the way they treat people is connected to directions they get from the management. Ill take my business elsewhere.
Awesome workout and great trainers- Ive been coming for a few months now and hope to continue.
I only come here because its close to my work and I have a tight schedule. Its extremely nasty that there is carpet in the bathrooms. It smells really bad and I usually change at work just to avoid the locker-room area. The best part about this place is the staff. Theyre genuinely nice and helpful. The equipment could definitely be updated. I will be looking into another gym that cares more about the environment / experience for their members.
I cant really complain. Its located in a nice spacious lot, and front desk people are super nice. They make sure to greet everyone with a smile as you come in. The machines however, do have a bit of an outdated feel and some of the weight machines felt a bit clunky. For example, there was one where it a metal bar that you pull from behind and over your head then down. The height seemed off and it felt loose even I after I adjusted it. The showers also dont feel as clean as some of the other LA Fitnesses.Overall, however, a decent place to workout at.
The lockers were not designed for heavy duty locks. Luckily, I had a thin spare one. The showers had a moldy smell, meaning they havent been cleaned for days. The gym floor was nice though......
This gym is very outdated, dirty, and hosted by a very discomforting staff. Like every other LA Fitness at 3 pm, the locker room is full of elderly naked folks, but this one has benches topped with unbelievably tired brown carpet that has helped dry their nooks and crannies for the past century or more.
Just started going to this gym...staff was great& helpful! Facility is definitely well equipped. Me & my daughter go but she uses the pool while I workout. Takes care of all our needs!
We joined LA Fitness as a family to help us all with living a more healthy lifestyle and it has been awesome. Our trainer, Allison, gives us super tips and strategies and works hard to motivate our teenage daughter to keep going. Even when Allison is not there the other trainers have asked us if we need direction, given us tips, shown us different and more effective ways to work out. Love our gym and all the people that work there.
Machines all worked. Locker room was clean, and the swimming pool was warm. Very nice!
They updated the gym and got rid of any decent free weight equipment in favor of machines. The management turns over every three months and they seem to get worse and worse. It is a do whatever you want gym now with people doing odd stuff all over the place.
Needs better ventilation. Fans! The bathroom is gross!
Its never going to be open 24 hours again after the pandemic. What a shame, need to cancel and go to EOS open 24 hours.
My favorite LA Fitness in the Valley. Great location and great staff. I am a former member, and I now live out of the state, but GM Adrian and the staff always welcome me back when I’m in town visiting family.
This Fitness center on Priest and Elliott is my favorite of all from 51st Avenue & 24th Street on Baseline ~ 75th Avenue & Thomas ~ 7th Avenue & Camelback ~ 22nd Avenue & Northern to mention a few. The trainers, floor personnel, operations, management & maintenance people are top notch, kind, knowledgeable & courteous.
Just ok. Usually not too busy, but cleanliness could be better. The dumbbells STINK. I get it. Its a gym. People sweat. But please, disinfect things for your members better! You can smell and feel the buildup on them.A lot of the equipment is dated compared to other LA Fitness locations, such as their benchpresses. It sucks that some locations have newer/nicer equipment, but its the same membership fee regardless.
Let me start off by saying Ive been to about 9 LA Fitness gyms in the valley, this one has to be the cleanest, friendliest and best kept equipment BY FAR.... The manager Dee and trainers plus club staff are very friendly and helpful. Thanks, from a customer who cares about customer service.
Nice and clean. Has everything you need to get or stay in shape.
Everyone do yourself a favor never go to a LA fitness, Ive been a few times in the past to check it out cause Ive thought of going there before, anyways the staff is always so unprofessional no matter which one Ive gone too, and the facilities are always super dirty, but putting all that aside I went and took a tour of one tonight because I dont have a current membership at a gym, the lady was so rude because I decided I wanted to think about it, she literally wouldnt let me leave she just kept saying what are you thinking about, no matter what I said it wasnt good enough she was literally trying to bully me into signing up, I said I didnt want to sign up right now but she ignored it and kept pressing until I finally said thanks for the tour you were great, have a nice night. It was rediculous, I left feeling like I just stood up too a bully and felt terrible for anyone that has to go through that, and felt even bad for her that she somehow thinks thats acceptable. On top of all that there prices are crazy it was 55.99 a month, with first and last month down, and a 99 dollar start up fee, for a total of over 200 dollars just to start the membership.
Stop littering my driveway! You guys are obnoxious, I have to stop my car to get out and pick up the TRASH you left on my property! It looks like Im away from the house when there’s papers all over the place so someone could rob us. Next time I’m calling the police instead of leaving reviews!
If you want to be surrounded by beautiful people then this gym has a higher proportion than any other LA Ive been to around Tempe.
The gym is ok - the racquetball courts are in good shape. However, I just learned that the steam room will be out of service for months to come. I do notice that people enter the sauna or steam room fully clothed. Thats disgusting - you suppose to rinse before entering either room.
Their is a hair salon Fatemae has been styling (haircuts) at this location for over 20 years. Good price and great service.
They ruined the gym by cutting the basketball court in half for a training area no one uses. So many people played ball there, but not anymore.
Nice facility. I like to vary my workout. Lots to do from racquetball, basketball, weights, etc.
I have to agree with Chenzo. I have a similar story. I moved away from my house that was near the LA Fitness and there wasnt one near where I live. The good part is they dont do any contracts so you can cancel at any time. However, I tried to cancel my service, and they convinced me to freeze my account instead so I dont have to pay a fee in the future to sign up if I find an LA fitness near work or something. To freeze your account costs $25 and I was already paying $30. They charged me both in one month, so I called them and they would not reverse the charge, so i tried to cancel the account. You can only cancel by mail. On top of that they told me it can take up to 2 weeks to cancel it AFTER they receive the letter...By the time they canceled my account, they charged me $85 in a 1 1/2 month period... Horrible company. Pure fitness has smaller gyms, but they are cheaper per month, no contracts as well, and you can cancel on the spot without waiting.
This place is awful! The owner of the salon here named Fatima came out of the shop “fitness cuts” to berate my daughter for breastfeeding her infant son while she was fully covered and sitting on the floor watching her husband play racquetball. As if her ignorant behavior wasn’t bad enough- her ignorant brother came out to join her - standing over my daughter telling her she needed to leave and that she shouldn’t do that in public . Then the asst mgr of the gym asked her if she normally does that in public. After my daughter moved Fatima came out with a can of Lysol and sprayed the area . This barbaric back-asswards attitude should never be tolerated and shame on the management for allowing her to stay there.
L like steam room in tempe but never fix steam room then thinking about cancelling. It was best steam room.
Fine location, but no kids club, clean well maintained treadmills, nice showers/lockers, friendly weekend staff.
RUDE. LOOKS SMALL. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. WOULDNT RECOMMEND!!
The steam room was going through a maintenance check and the Jacuzzi needs more powerful jets. They should also update their elipticals, treadmills, etc to have individual televions like other LA Fitnesses.
I really liked this club. Experienced going in the morning, at night, mid-day. Never had any issues, always got my workout in, and everyone on staff seemed pretty friendly. Moving closer to a different club and I will surely miss this one.If you are thinking of signing up at a gym, this one has weights, machines, cardio equipment, a basketball court, sauna, spa, racquetball, and a lap pool. IDK what else you really need to get a suitable workout in, so quit making excuses and just do it.
The new management team (Amanda and the bald guy) are really turning it around here. I am noticing more conversations with the staff, where in the past you were greeted with indifference. Its getting better! I promise. They even put a heavy bag in the aerobics room; past managers gave me BS reasons for not having one - its not permitted in the lease ; theres nowhere to put one; etc. Happier here now than I have been in the past. One thing to note - I cant get anyone to put an end to the cardio activities in the sauna. For goodness sakes people!!!! - If you are the only person in the sauna, then have at it. When there is more than one person in the sauna, cut it the F out! Oooh, look at me; Im so cool be doing jumping jacks and medicine ball tosses in the sauna; I dont care that my sweat is flying off my body and onto everyone else. Seriously, if it doesnt stop, Im going to start saying something, and I bet they wont like when I do.
If you are here writing a review because their cancellation policy is annoying...get over yourselves. Its a great gym and like every other LA Fitness I go to.
Awesome place to get a quick workout. Staff is nice and very accomodating.
It is as good as average gym, a decent basketball court which is all i need. Equipment is good and staff are nice.
Probably the most dated LA Fitness in the area. Old machines, only one squat rack, and overall pretty dirty. Avoid when possible
Great staff... a little older equipment and club... but it a good place still..
I came here because they closed the gym on Baseline and the 101 and needed a new location to continue. The locker room was very outdated (carpeted benches, and there was dog hair?!?!) and the bathrooms were also old and dirty. I heard the reason they closed the Baseline location was because it needed lots of expensive improvements. Well, that one was like the Ritz compared to this one. I just cant go there, and theres no doubt they will likely close this one too.
Small gym! Love it here.
Nice facility, wide variety of classes, spin,bb court, free weights, circuits, racquet ball
I dont mind this place. I know some folks complain of the equipment and facility. I just do my workouts and leave; Im satisfied.
Great place to work out and the community keeps it safe
This is a hidden gem. Usually not crowded and has everything you need for a good workout.
Just joined for my daughter going to college down there. Location is good. Equipment is older, but...NO WIFI! Really??? This is 2016! We use our phones for many services that need wifi. Including playing our music. Come on LA FItness. Get with the times.
Usually pretty empty but definitely why I I like this place
As a truck driver I ve been in many La fitness gyms all around the country. This one is the worst so far. Many reasons for that. They dont have rowing machine. Other equipment is old. Basketball court is closed, even though one basket is perfectly fine!!!! Mens restroom is dirty ( but thats ok..).I dont usually write reviews...
Great gym, friendly staff and all the amenities I need.
Clean locker rooms, equipment are in good condition. Well maintained and friendly staff
Stay away they dont stop calling you and spamming your email
I wish they could upgrade and pay more attention to some of the workout equipment.
They say hello when I come in, and answer my questions.
Always clean and well keep
This location is older and smaller than some of the other LA Fitness locations. The equipment is older, and there is no juice bar.
Great gym.
Great staff and its rarely packed.
Horrible horrible horrible horrible was the worst of all! I have a combined 12 years of total membership Time Gym and I went on on the free two-day pass that they didnt honor didnt let me in honestly I had to pay for the day or sign up. I will update this for peoples names soon
My question does it have basketball courts and how are they
Never over crowded
Old facility, equipment in poor shape, dirty facilities and rude people at the desk. It used to have free towel service and now - nothing. Not many reasons I can think of to continue going to this gym...... Ill be moving my business to a different location and/or gym membership.
Big gym good equipment
Dated LA fitness facilities but the staff is friendly.
Lots of classes and times to choose from but gum can get very busy and crowded on the machines
I wouldnt even give it a star people are so rude hard to cancel the membership!!!
Very rude, will not let you cancel your membership, should not be allowed to stay in business in AZ
