Renting with Fox was amazing, great experience, no extra chargers for nonsense things. The car was in an excellent conditions, they charged me what they told at the time of the rent and the deposit returned to my account quickly. The price for was π that I could not believe it was true. I was so distrustful about the price that I deposited-extra money in my account, just in case. Five days later all my money was there, including my deposit except for the money they told me will cost for the days I was using the car. It was amazing and real chip. Thank you to the staffs for the great service.
We rented a car for the weekend with fox and had a great experience. The line was a little long but thatβs to be expected with it being the most affordable rental car in the whole airport. Victor was helpful with everything and got us in out of there quickly. They were out of the standard size cars that i had booked so they gave me a suv for the same price. I will definitely use them again next time Iβm in the area!
Wow great deal and great service. I really liked when I got car they have a sheet with all damage noted so no questions about nicks when I came back. They also allowed prepaying a half tank of gas saving me time on return. I will definitely use again! All employees were polite and friendly. They are all electronic now contract and receipts come by email different for me but worked great
Great customer service during both pick up and drop off. With several people in front of me I still only waited in line maybe 8 minutes to get my vehicle. Despite being the cheapest rental I could find the car was very clean, new, and in great condition. Returning the car at most took 2 minutes.
I gamble on this rental car place, made a good choice overall. I turn the car in after 8 days and received my invoice of extra charge of $47 for gas which my husband filled it up completely. So I just got off the phone with customer service and very sweet guy understood the misunderstanding and refunded me the pre-filled gas charge quickly. I can truly if Im ever in florida again, I will be using Fox. Thank you!
Honestly the reviews arent great but Ive had pleasant experiences. Tonight, I was a little late and Stephen did a great job taking care of me. He was rocking and rolling, very friendly and helpful. My only knock was the 500 deposit since Im local. But everything else from the gas price refill to the extended day should needed was very fair priced. Will continue to rent should I need to.Hi. The online booking is easy but once you are here the representatives try to sell you more stuff. If you have a full insurance coverage you do not have to buy one from here. But they just try to sell it to you. Then tried to force us to get a toll pass. When informed that we will not go through tolls tried to scam us telling our route have five toll booths. That is absurd. Giving three stars because of the vehicle. It was well cleaned and very comfortable ( A Dodge Grand Caravan). Two stars docked because the staff did not help at all.
I went into this experience expecting the worst due to poor reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. The guys at the Tampa airport were quick to get us into a vehicle. They did offer services that we definitely didnt need, but they werent pushy at all. Gave us a complimentary upgrade as well. Incredible experience especially for the price I paid.

We rented a minivan for 9 days for a super price but after reading the reviews on this particular rental location we booked a backup vehicle with another company- just in case. Iβm happy that we didnβt have to go with the backup. Mandy helped us and our checkout was quick and easy. Our flight was changed to an earlier time and unfortunately the minivan we rented wasnβt available. We were offered 3 different 7 passenger vehicles and chose one with only 26,000 miles. We were given the keys and given instructions on where to get the car. When we got to the parking ramp the woman working in the booth (rather flat affect and unfriendly) recommended we video record the ENTIRE vehicle and make note of any scratches or dents. βVideo it so you have a date and time stamp for proof. Youβll be charged for any scratch bigger then an inch or dent bigger then a golf ball. Make a note of any dent or scratch so you have proof.βLet me tell you- this car was COVERED with scratches and had several small dents. I will absolutely rent from them again but will video every square inch of the car before I drive it off of the ramp. The car ran flawlessly, got excellent mileage and was very comfortable.

Steven did everything he could to assist me with the car rental and went above and beyond to make sure I left satisfied. Ripoff. They do not maintain their vehicles. Reeked of cigarettes, dirty inside and covered in bird droppings. Two days in engine starts knocking. I am 2.5 hours away. Getting through to customer service is a nightmare. Took to Ft Meyers got a POS Fusion. Paid for a jeep upsold to a Charger, driving a Fusion lots of hidden fees.. Never ever again
Service was great. The car we rented wasnt cleaned and the remote for the car want working properly and the car wouldnt unlock until you kept pushing the unlock button foe almost 5 mins. Other than those 2 issues the car ran great.
Honestly, I intended on leaving a bad review INITIALLY! I paid for the rental in advance, where they are sure to mention that the full balance (car rental & deposit) will be due at that moment. So it was a whole ordeal with them trying to collect another deposit when I got there, but Shelly, who was so sweet, polite, even when I was frustrated, help me get it figured out and I was on my way! Unfortunately, there was pest problem in the vehicle I was given but they exchanged it & even upgraded me without any problems! I canβt remember the actual manager I spoke with but he was great as well! Overall this place is affordable and friendly, & is good about helping correct any issues that may occur.

I rented ahead of time through Hopper and it was supposed to be $276 when we picked it up. Get there and after all the fees and the $450 deposit it was over $800!!! The only good thing is the guy working at the booth was understanding and super nice, he was nice enough to recommend Ace Rentals for a better deal which saved us over $400.
I was pleased with my reservation from Tampa airport. When I got to the airport I found out that my reservation had been cancelled because I was 15 min late in picking up the vehicle (flight was late due to weather). The young lady named Gohar who attended me was professional and sympathetic. Since the car I had wanted was no longer available she was able to up grade me to an SUV at the same price as car. Great customer service!
I rented a car for pick up at 630 am on a Friday and drop off at 630 pm on a Monday. When I got there to pick it up I waited 45 minutes in a crazy long line with 1 person working the counter. Then when I dropped it off no one was there anywhere to be seen to check me in. I travel quite a bit and usually someone is on you the second you pull up. Not this time. I was able to get myself, 2 kids and our luggage out of the car before anyone showed up. Then they charged me a $50 late fee because pick up was in the am and drop off was in the pm. Which is exactly what my reservation was for! These people are out of thier minds. None of it made any sense. I showed Ashley (the employee at the window) my reservation confirmation and she stillsl charged me a late fee. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else!
First vehicle was a 2018 Dodge journey in semi ok shape. The battery died twice, then check engine light came on. I stupidly leave my Ray ban sunglasses in it when I returned it on day 2. I go back and was told they usually throw things like that out. Sure, throw into their pocket, maybe. Why is there a lost and found then? Second car (same make model and year) I got has German roaches in it. Found 3. 1 in my purse, 1 on my mom and 1 inside back door. I was told I would get a discount applied at checkout. I didnt. No one around to take car. Left keys in a drop box. No receipt.Edit: I emailed customer service and did received a 50% discount before taxes.
This was one of the worst experiences I have had for renting a car. The customer service was awful. We waiting over 45 minutes in line to start the process when we had reserved the car 8 months in advance. This was mostly due to there only being one worker. One of the other ladies left in the middle of the rush for a break. The woman tried to give us a different car and finally when we told her we had worked at rental companies before she stopped and gave us what we had reserved 8 months ago. After this, we went downstairs to pick up the car, we were told we had to wait another 20 min to why our car washed. There was the exact same car sitting there but she wouldnβt let us have it. A family that was behind us in like about 6 people back, came down as we were still waiting and got into the exact same car we had reserved. Then finally our car came around the corner another 5 minutes later. The customer services was one of the worst Iβve experienced. They attempted to give us smaller cars, we wouldnβt have been able to fit in. Then they didnβt even attempt to help us feel better about the wait or get a car faster. The employees had attitudes the entire time and kept saying they couldnβt help. At one point when we were asking how much longer the worker in the garage stopped talking to us, and started helping other customers in the middle of our conversation. Customer service should be the only thing these small companies in rental business care about but they didnβt even care how rude they were. Save yourself some frustration for the start of your vacation. Donβt rent from here, itβs not worth it, even if they are a little cheaper.
I rented a car back on 8/18/2021 and when I returned the car on 8/25/21 I told them that the car was running weird. That the car was all over the road and was a horrible ride not to mention dangerous since it skidded all over the road when it rained. Iβve called several times since returning the car because I forgot my I pad, I called option # 4 to the lost and found and left numerous messages and no one has called me back. I just called customer service again and an Indian speaking girl picked up the phone and she told me she was located in California which I highly doubt it. I requested to speak to a Manager and she gave the run around and eventually hung up on me when I requested her name. Please do not rent from this company itβs not worth your life since cars are runned down and not safe plus to get someone on the line is almost impossible. Horrible experience
Easy reservation, lower pricing than most companies: however, you get what you pay for... Vehicle reaked of smoke, windshid wipers were terrible, and tires needed balanced. Dont purchase the discount toll package $$$$$ unless you really need it. They require a $150.00 in addition to rental fee.

What a nightmare! If anyone plans on renting from this specific rental, please stop and read what Im about to say. Do not I repeat do NOT rent your car through this rental. My credit card was over charged 4x the rental fee. The agent that took my reservation at the airport explained that the computer system had a glitch and on her end there was no confirmation number provided. So she ran my card again and now the grand total came out to $655.26 for a three day rental. The agent reassured me that the over charged would be reimbursed back into my card midnight last night. This morning I checked my bank account and sure enough this agent played me. I called Fox Rent A Car customer service three times today to dispute my problem and not one of the agents would help me nor did they even speak clear English. They told me its not their problem and that I would either have to go back to the airport and find the agent that lied to me or call my bank. I called my bank instead and filed a claim. All of this could have been avoided if the customer service would actually help me resolve this problem. If anyone decides to rent from the Fox Rent A Car in Tampa think twice and take my advice. Poorly ran and poor customer service. If Google allowed zero stars thats what this place deserves.

NEVER AGAIN!!! I would rate Fox Rental with a ZERO if I could. I made reservations ahead of time so we could skip the check in process (which is what we have always done with other rental car places). We walked up to the booth and were told we had to check in first. The line was RIDICULOUSLY long. The LAST thing you want to do when you arrive on vacation is wait in line. This wasnβt a 15 min wait...there must have been 40 people in line ahead of us. It took each person about 40 min to check in and get their car. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? We left and went to another rental and paid $500 more but were out of there and on our way to our amazing vacation. Obviously these employees either do not know how to use computers or you need to hire more people! NEVER EVER AGAIN! Pay the extra money...waste of time
I would have given this another star but when it comes to getting help and answers it seemed like they just didnt care and will give you the run around. I can say this, its very fairly priced and they have nice clean newer cars. I just wish they would have been a lot more helpful then they were.

How I rented a car and next day it wonβt start I called and they said βwe think is maybe battery hasnβt been changed β we will send a towing to see if is that and you can bring it backβ im like thatβs not my problem how you have a car thatβs all messed up and give it to customer and expects me to bring it back but wait the towing βroadside assistance β said they was coming and all sudden they canceled the pickup, and you try to call customer service and your on hold for two dam days π€¦π»ββοΈ worst company ever, there needs to be a zero stars! If I could give them no stars, I WOULD. Out of anything I could put an actual rate on in my life. This experience with Fox Rental Car was the worst by far. I waited in like for 2 hours to only get side swiped with an upgraded car that I didnt ask for (I had to pay for the upgraded cost, it wasnt given for free) and an added on driver that I also didnt ask for. I paid $300+ upfront to save money, and end up walking out the door that day paying $800+. We talked on the phone with customer service for 2 hours, they wanted us to turn around and bring the car back. On top of that, we were rear ended in the rental car. We did everything right on our end, filed with insurance companies, and filled out accident report forms. The customer service during this experience was horrendous. No one had answers, and when we called they forwarded us to someone in California, not even in Florida. Fast forward, Nancy from customer service repeatedly harassed my brother in law for insurance information, even though they already had it when we filed the claim. Called him multiple times a day literally screaming at him. Blows my mind that you think you can talk to a customer that way at any point. And now we are 4 months later, they want me to pay $300+ for admin fees and Loss of use of the car. Are you kidding me? I never got my deposit back. You charged me $150+ more when I got the car because the guy couldnt understand english. And now I have to pay for the loss of your car when it wasnt my fault. Disgusting. Ive never been more disappointed in my life. Oh and catch this, I asked for the loss of use report, Nancy said she couldnt give it to me. Also said Id get a receipt, didnt get that either. Ill never recommend this place to anyone ever.
To Aaliyah at the Tampa International Airport: Our family flew into Tampa and had made a flight/car reservation through Priceline. When we arrived at the Tampa Airport to pick up our car, Aaliyah realized we did not have a car suitable for all of us. Because of a delayed flight and other misadventures beginning our vacation, we were truly bumbed out and frustrated. But Aaliyah upgraded our rental and treated us like it was Christmas day! She made a bad day very good and Im really grateful for her awesome customer service and help. Gregg C.
We reserved a SUV a couple months prior to our vacation. We landed in Tampa on 04/24/21 and went to car rental area for Fox Rental Cars. The line was extremely long. We got there at 12:28 pm never got to the counter and finished until 3hrs and 15 minutes later. Most of that time they only had 1 counter clerk working. The last 45 minutes they finally brought up 3 more clerks. This was a horrible experience. Where were the managers to take control and work when needed. Very unhappy with the service spending 1/2 of a day waiting to get our car!
Smooth pick up and smooth drop off. When you get off your flight you take two shuttles to the rent a car area, sounds way worse than it is. My husband and I brought our three kids 9, 4 and 9 months. It was a breeze
HIDDEN FEES, LYING REPS!We rented via Expedia and purchased their coverage, which claimed no out of pocket . When we picked up the car we were told that the that insurance is not valid. Thank God we didnt have to use it.THEN, when we were returning it, I noticed there was an extra charge on my receipt for half a day. We returned the car an hour early, so it didnt make sense. I asked the clerk politely and she said they charge for early return. Unless you time it perfectly YOU WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA! Such thieves! Of course I should have read the fine print, but this level of corporate level theft is just unreal!
Long wait to get car - almost an hour and it was not busy, only 1 agent working as 2nd agent went on break when we were the only other people waiting to be taken care of. Car was ok, did the job. BEWARE OF TOLL CHARGES. Was told at the TPA counter there were no tolls between Tampa and Brandon, FL so we did not purchase the toll pass. Upon coming home received a 0.53 cent toll notice with a $15 admin fee. Called and complained and was able to remove the first admin fee. However, I have now received a 2nd and 3rd notice for a total of 4 unpaid tolls and the 2nd time I called they agent was rude and did not care if I took my business elsewhere in the future. Currently have $5.54 in toll charges and $60 in admin fees from Fox...not happy and will never use them again!

I was absolutely petrified of renting here based on the reviews. But at nearly a 50% difference between competitors over the holidays it was financially the best option. I want to preface that my flight landed at 6AM..so perhaps I avoided a mid-day rush. The manager (I believe Alex was his name?) was very nice and walked me through all of the details including asking if I was going to be on toll roads. The car was very clean and in great shape and Alex gave me a full-size instead of an economy car at no charge. I was in my car driving out of the parking garage within 12-15 mins. Drop-off was also a breeze and took no more than 5 minutes--there was again no line at 4PM. Got an email immediately with my final charges and there were no additions or surprises. There were no weird conversations about gas, I just brought it back full like I always do when renting a car. I think if you are prepared (license, credit card, etc.) and are familiar with renting a car you will have no issues...but I cant confirm if my experience would have been different if the place was packed and if someone other than Alex was helping me!
Do not get your car from here. The Camry wife got have so many things wrong I mean wow. First thing the tires are so bad there are gashes in the tire, to the point were she was scared to drive it. Second the wind shield wipers are so bad that they dont even whip as they should. Lately the inside of the car was bad I mean the speakers didnt work. Please dont go here. This is the shape they gave the car to me they ( this is both the front wheels) could have popped, with my son (6) wife and my self in it.
I had a great experience with Fox. When we arrived there was no line and the person at the desk was very helpful. It sounds like they are very strict on their fuel policy, so I purchased half a tank of gas for $25 and had no issue returning it. The van we rented was nice and clean. They guys at the return area were also very helpful. We picked it up during a less busy time, sounds like they have longer waits at peak times.
My brother returned the vehicle on 3/6. Left my jacket and beanie in back seat(value jacket 250, beanie 125). I have sent multiple messages/emails no has replied to any of my messages.niece went to airport the following day 3/7 to pick up items. Personal at both counters (1st counter where you check in, 2nd counter where you pick up keys) was of no help, No help at all! Beside all the Attitude, my niece kept her composure because her main goal was to get the items back. After an hour and a half later. No one helped her locate the items.I am looking to get corporate involved, if no one reaches out.
35 mins to sign the paperwork for a rental that was booked 3 months ago. Down to PU the car, a lot of scratches, low fluids on oil/coolant. Rental Booth was unwilling to correct. We are now almost an hour into this ordeal with no car and approximately 42 cars sitting waiting for customers.This location had 4 upset customers with the amount of damage on the vehicles, the rental agent walked off leaving us and others without service. A Manager showed up to assist, however, they sent us to a car and another family to the same car. We had to once again go back and wait for another car.Terrible start to our vacation. Dont recommend Fox Car Rental as their customer service is below the rating currently at 2.2
I would like to leave this positive review for one of your employees, a woman named Josie. When other rental car companies at TPA International Airport could care less about helping me resolve a rental issue, your employee Josie took ownership after I asked one simple question, do you accept debit cards for rental?You see, my original reservation was with Enterprise Rental Car. Thats who we use for business and I utilize a corporate discount code. I have a business meeting tomorrow morning in Orlando. I live in Fort Lauderdale. The reason I chose to rent in Tampa and not Orlando is because my wife wanted to visit her friend here in Tampa and stay here for the 2 days while I do business in Orlando. Not a problem if we both could have driven our own cars, but my wife didnt want to do the 4 hour drive and so, as the good spouse, I told her I would drive her car here to Tampa and rent a vehicle so I can go to Orlando for business. The plan was on Tuesday return to Tampa, turn in the rental car and drive my wifes car back to our home in Fort Lauderdale.Sounds simple right? Apparently no. On Sunday, the only Enterprise I could rent from was at the airport. So I get there, pull up my reservation and try to rent, but my credit card is almost maxed out. It has about $300 left before the limit. I have another credit card with a few hundred left on it also. Combined they were sufficient for the rental. Enterprise said no, it must be the whole thing on one credit card. So I said ok, and pulled out a business debit card thinking since it was a BUSINESS debit it would make a difference. They said no, not unless I could show a returned flight. So it left me in a bind because they told me to rent from a local street Enterprise the following morning when they opened - except that wouldnt work for me when I have a business meeting at 9:30am.So as I was walking towards the exit I decided to stop and quickly ask a couple of rental car companies as I passed, Do you accept debit cards for rental? I was blown off. Lol But when I decided to ask just one more place, I came across Josie at Fox Rent a Car who went above and beyond to help me. She didnt even know about all the problems I just explained. It wasnt even necessary. Josie just wanted to help me, like any other customer.So not only was I able to rent a car but I was able to get it for an exceptional rate even better than the corporate discount I was using with Enterprise and was able to use my credit card after all since the low rental fell within the limit I had left on my credit card. Now, once I return to Fort Lauderdale after this business trip I will put in a request into our company looking to establish a corporate account with Fox Rent A Car and just do our corporate rentals with your company instead. Kudos to your employee Josie. THANK YOU.
We rented online and it said we would get charged 196 dollars when we arrived. When we got there to pick it up, we didnβt change cars or the length of time or anything, and we got charged 750 dollars. I do NOT recommend this place. Losing all of that money completely ruined our vacation.
I had a very poor car rental experience with Fox in Tampa FL airport location. On June 10th I was expecting a 2021 Ford Explorer for my family.Β I was only give one option which was a 2018 Dodge minivan with 65,000 miles, bold tires, the steering wheel shook very badly when I drove 60 mph on the highway.Β The rate for this car was the same and not any less.Β I called my credit card and I was told to talk to you first.Β I felt very concerned with this car and for the safety of my family.Β We needed a reliable car as we had 2 day tickets already purchased for legoland and other locations to visit.Β I would like to get some kind of a resolution... Let me know what you can do for me. My rental was from June 10 to 19th. I also tried reaching customer service via phone and email, Zero feedback so far....

Hidden costs will cost you more than youve calculated.Yes, the contract rate will be lower than youll find elsewhere...however, factor in the 1hr wait time at the counter, the half hour wait time in the garage while the car is being washed, the $15 PER $1 toll administrative fee, etc and its hardly worth it.I keep telling myself Ill learn, but I havent yet. Not a nightmare but about what youd expect and fear from this tier of rental car company.
Been on the phone for over 45min and they hang up. Iβm calling again with one simple question. Is there a shuttle that will take me to the Tampa intl airport or can I drop it off in the airport. Cars were very clean but customer service really needs an upgrade or more help.
I had a great experience renting from here. Did not have the CC I used to book, the clerk was able to change it to another one with no problem. When I returned the car there was someone right there to check it in. The price I was quoted was the price I paid.

We waited in line maybe 10-15 minutes, which isnβt unusual with any car rental company. The employee was friendly and offered additional coverage and toll pass but didnβt push us when we declined. We reserved a compact SUV and got exactly what we expected with a Dodge Journey. There were some minor dings and scratches but they were all disclosed on the pick-up form. Returning the vehicle literally took less than 5 minutes. I would definitely rent from Fox again!
Waited in line for 1 hour, then they tried to sell me different add-ons, had issues with their credit card machine. The plus side was a clean car and easy return. But overall, a poor experience.
After a delayed flight and POOR experience from Easirent I returned to the airport for a rental and FOX customer service and support was top tier. I showed the employee the rate from priceline and he was able to get me a car for a little less with full coverage. I was in and out in less than 20 mins, this place as made my travel to Tampa comforting. My rental was clean and I am thoroughly pleased. Thank you!

The worst experience every. Took about 2 hrs to get a car. Long line and only two attendants. Of course one attendant decided to take her break when we get to the counter. βWhatβs up with that.βCar is not ready. The guy who gives you the keys was nasty and rude. The car was damaged. Scratched and dented. Run... the cars are not worth the headache. You want to get off the plane, get in your car and be on your way, not deal with the drama.

Saying that it was strong smoke coming from the car & I dont even smoke and neither does my Fiance.. besides that the staff are RUDE!! and it took almost 2hours to get the car after making reservations and it took an entire month to get a response from the billing department inwhich Emailing the is your best way of contact because youll be on hold for days listening to the same automated messages. I recently just had a rental car that I returned after two weeks of renting through enterprise with no problems. Perhaps they were smelling the smoke off of themselves but I dont smoke and Im Tremendously upset about the fact that the person who reached back out to me had the audacity to say management checked my vehicle and detected smoke as well. Car was in good working order. Quite a lot of body wear and tear for a rental. The sales clerk up-sold things, such as a sun-pass that was never needed & gas - which sounded like a good idea, but you get no refund if you return more, so be cognizant of that. Just buy your own gas. I have tried for over a week to get in touch about getting this sunpass refunded. They dont return emails, calls, etc.... I was on chat and they disconnected more than once. AWFUL customer service. Even checking in - the process was sooooo slow! 1 person running entire airport check in.
Make sure you have an additional 3 to 4 hours to wait on your car if you choose to rent here. Youβll stand in line for at least an hour then youβll pay another $100 in fees and taxes and then theyβll tell you 20 more minutes because they have to wash the car you reserved. We waited at lease another hour and half and then a jeep drove up and they gave it to another family. This place is a joke. Their workers are in extreme need of customer service training. One filed her nails while the other one yelled at me about what time I checked in.
I saw some negative reviews, but my experience was fine. I paid 250 for a week when the big companies were getting 800. Havent received my final bill yet. If their are surprise charges I will come back and change my review.
Easy, well-priced car rental company. Unfortunately, they were a little short on staff so the check in wait was long but no complaints.

Got a total beater after waiting over an hour to get the car person said I had a car with no demts or scratches I looked over car it had multiple dents and scratches all over in fact person had to mark the sketch the car with all sides scratched and dented when I asked for a different car was told I would have to wait again and I could not deal with that as I was already late for the event I came for. I will never rent at fox again.
Very pleasantly surprised at the quality and service of this location. I was made to use this service by my company and expected the worst but I was very pleasantly surprised at what I got. The service rep was very friendly, fast and helpful. I think a lot of the bad reviews are from people who had crazy expectations or were looking for comps that were unreasonable. The vehicle I got was clean and very nice. I was out of there very quickly and returning was even faster. Be prepared to provide 2 phone numbers and your e-mail when you check in. Patrick at returns was awesome and took great care of me when returning my vehicle. I will definitely rent from them again.
If I could rate 0 stars I would. Prepaid 140 bucks to rent a vehicle. Read disclaimer saw bad reviews after booking, and got a little nervous. Should have read before, because the reviews are spot on. They were trying to charge me 500 bucks extra. I can understand any other fees or some kind of security deposit. But 500 bucks?! Are you kidding me? Thatβs a ridiculous bump especially when your happy to be in the sunshine state for vacation and have to deal with that. The manager and lady at the counter were no help either. Lady at the counter just brushed me off and made me walk downstairs to talk to the manager, and the manager was 0 help kind of seemed like he just didnβt care about customer service. What an absolute joke. Read the reviews theyβre real. If I could leave 0 stars I absolutely would. Will never ever consider doing business with them again. I went right next door to sixt and even paid a bit more for a car rental because the service was THAT MUCH BETTER and they were way more transparent then this scam of a company.
I HATE leaving bad reviews. But this company is Very very misleading. Paid $187 for our rental online. Which is the amount we thought we were paying total. Then when we go pick it up at the airport, they charge us $150 for a deposit. And then another charge of $540 he said was for a deposit since we used a debit card. There was nothing online about these HUGE additional charges. We decided we wanted to void the whole thing and go with a bigger more reputable rental car service without the ridiculous hidden fees. Which we did. But the void receipt they gave us was only for the $187. Very very sketchy and Very unhelpful!!! Also every single person at each help desk was blindsided as well and were having issues like us. DO NOT RENT A VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Especially if youβre trying to start off a fun vacation. Itβs a quick bad experience to start a vacation off. So start off good with a better company for renting a car.
I will never rent from these people, we were delayed due to weather In Tampa stood in line for over and 1.5 hours for our car at the airport never made it to the counter we were told of we were more than 3 hours late our reservation was cancelled no questions asked. They only had 2 people working. Very poor customer service. I wouldnβt even rate them 1 star.
Terrible customer service at Tampa International Airport. Line is extremely long and only one person working processing customers. Tried to call the number to ask for help but the was made aware by the robot that the hold time is over 30 minutes on Sunday afternoon. Not happy.
Worst car rental experience. U have a three hour window to pick up your car and if your flight is delayed forget about it. The manager has a heart of stone. I begged to get the car I paid for three months ago and he refused despite my three little kids sitting there after a long exhausting day in travel. Another woman was there in tears, stuck without a car, and her young child with her to witness it all. Money hungry and cold hearted to the next level. STAY AWAY!
2 bad tires. one dropped to 4 lbs soon after leaving airport. couldnt make it back, they wouldnt deliver a new car. had to wait 5 hours at a firestone store to have tires replaced cause it took hours for fox to approve. missed a fishing trip and $300. the car was clean but the tires....come on, get it together.
I actually love Fox!The people are very courteous and efficient at their jobs,and quick.Having said that,I had a toll problem last mth,and Cannot get Anyone on the phone to fix it!(6 days of calling,twice hit the βcallbackβnumber, still nothing!I asked if there were tolls between tampa and clearwater and was told no.they sent me a bill for two .50 tolls with a $30 admin fee!If I donβt get this taken care of,they will not get my $600 remtal in sept.!SO angry w/ phone service,in India of course.two very rude guys which really surprised me....every number someone gave me,adter 40 min holds,was told a Different number!
Worst experience with a car rental company ever. Waited in line for over a hour just to get outside to the garage and wait another 40 minutes.I suggest to pay the extra money to deal with another company.

Do yourself a favor and rent your car from LITERALLY anywhere else. The charger I had rented was infested with ants and spiders, the staff working the counter was rude and unprofessional, and they sneak in all these hidden charges when youβve already reserved your car and are off the plane. Our confirmation email clearly said we had $448 βdue at the car rental counterβ but to my surprise I ended up having to pay closer to $850. Everything about fox rental seems shady and unprofessional. Iβd rather be dragged on my face by a team of sled dogs than rent from here again.Thanks for the oh so warm welcome to Florida Cynthia..(not)Oh ps. Rented a car for a week through Expedia with Fox Rent A Car Tampa. This was a non-refundable purchase, but the price was reasonable, and I wasnt going to cancel the trip. Arrived at the Rental Car and realized why the price was $100 less than the competitors. The line stretched out of the Fox Rent a Car area and down the hall toward the escalators. The wait time was estimated by the person working the desk to be over 3 hours. All of the other rental car businesses seemed to have figured out how to manage their staffing levels based on appointments. It appears that the Fox Rent a Car business model is based on not actually providing the services agreed to. Tried to call Fox rent a car, could not get through. Expedia was an automated phone tree, saying someone would call back after three hours. After two days, Fox responded to Expedia saying that it was non-refundable and I was out $358. Do yourself a favor, dont buy a non-refundable reservation with Fox, it wont work out for you.UPDATE 5-8-21.While its nice that someone from Fox Rent A Car responds to these Google reviews, No one responds when you actually email the company. Id appreciate someone from Fox A Rent A Car actually responding to my emails.
The car was in fair condition. They stated they had to do an extra $150 deposit in addition to my reservation cost, which doesnβt make sense but I played along. I filled the car up with gas, a full tank, before returning the car. However, the person who checked in the car put the gas tank was empty and added road side assistance charges that did not occur and charged my credit card an extra $63 without my knowledge and not refunding my $150 deposit. I am now pursuing a refund of $219 after I had to submit proof to the rental car company billing department that I filled the gas tank and it was full when I returned the vehicle. I will never rent a car from this company again. This is fraud.
I recently returned a rental car over the holidays. They charged me an upgrade fee of $10 per day for 14 days. I told the person that checked me out that I asked about the upgrade, but did not get it. Their was no supervisor available and the attendant said they would call me within 24 hours. I have received no call back. I tried calling Fox and spent over an hour on hold and was not able to get through. I later called and hit the option to book a new rental and they provided me with the customer service email and the representative said they would follow up within 48 hours. Its been 3 days and I have heard nothing. This has been extremely frustrating considering I did not get the upgrade and they charged my account anyway. This is unacceptable service!

DO NOT rent from here!! Our family of 6 including my 80 year old grandparents flew in from Ohio, I had reserved a minivan and had a confirmation number and everything. After landing they tell us theres no minivan available. But offer to give us 2 vehicles instead. Not having my elderly grandparents drive an hour away in an unfamiliar city. Thankfully hertz saved the day! Lesson learned- cheaper isnt always better.
Over an hour on hold to ask a quick question and was then told that if I donβt arrive on time, I wouldnβt be guaranteed the vehicle I reserved. So I asked if my plane was late then I would lose my reservation and he said no but there was no guarantee of the car I wanted. What a waste of time!!!!
In December I went to fox rent a car and rented the car for a whole month, however I was renting the vehicle from them a week at a time. Every single time they charged me a $500 deposit. Out of the four times they they did this only two of them were refunded. This is disappointing because you canβt even get a hold of them. Iβve also left my transponder and a gift I bought for my a family member during Christmas and was never able to retrieve it from them. I have contacted the mail office, the corporate number, and emailed them to no avail. I keep receiving notifications by my bank with extra charges by Fox rent a car and itβs five months later. Iβve been on hold for literally an hour and thirty minutes because I received and extra charge a credit collections company for $118.57 and they havenβt even reached out to me in the first place. I have disputed the charges for the two charges and will also call the credit collections company they sold off my so called βdebt to themβ I will make sure to report them to the BBB and FTC.
Absolutely horrible never ever use again the worst customer service the cars are disgusting dirty old and broken down and it took us almost 2 hours from getting off our airplane to get our π car after 3 cars!!
Unfortunately I could not rate 0; 1 was the lowest. The car came with manual locks, manual windows, volume control knob missing from radio, Lever for driver seat will not recline/adjust, totally missing one of the clamps that holds down the sunroof (making for a noisy ride, antenna bent 90 degrees and dirty. Been on hold for 1 hour and 4 minutes and the recording constantly tells you of the absolute best customer service WARNING- DO NOT RENT FROM HERE - NOT WORTH THE SAVINGS
My husband and I rented a car while on vacation, 4/23/2021-4/30/2021. Getting the car was a nice smooth process done in under 20 mins! The gentleman told us a hold/deposit of $150 would be charged and refunded within 7 to 10 days (ok normal no biggie) returned the car thought everything was good. However my husbands credit card got charged 3 times!!!! 1 charged was refunded (not the $150 deposit) still 2 charges still appear on his credit card. Tried to call couldnt get through to anyone. Got on and emailed customer service and 5 days later still havent heard from anyone! As of this review Im currently on hold again with 10 callers ahead of me (the same number everytime I call) current hold time is 20 minutes and still 10 callers ahead of me. Very poor customer service and watch for multiple charges on your card you used!!!
Reserved a car online for $101. Their line at the airport only allowed one person per vehicle so, I was unable to stand in line. They ended up charging my card $787. They added a whole bunch of charges that I didnt want, and didnt sign up for on my reservation. I didnt notice until I arrived at my hotel and I have been on the phone for hours trying to get it figured out. Working with their website and customer service is almost impossible and their phone line keeps dropping.Edit: Finally got a hold of somebody on their customer service team who told me theres nothing he can do. He kept repeating the phrase Well didnt you sign the contract? and Well didnt you select... to which I kept replying No because I wasnt standing in line and the person standing in line wasnt told the prices of anything being added. I ended up going back to the airport and was able to return the car for a refund. There was never an apology or any sort of empathy. Just bad customer service. The only positive was that we didnt have to keep the car. We ended up renting from Hertz instead.
The car that they gave me was very nice and clean.The whole process on renting the car was good the only problem was when I returned the car my price went from $289 to $480 or something like that as they were charging me a full tank of gas even if I returned it with a full gas tank. Before I left the airport and talking to the FOX Representative she told me they will reimburse me my deposit as she got confirmation that the car had a full tank from her manager.The next morning my car was run twice for another $89 dollars and my invoiced went up to $549 something. I tried calling for hrs and no body ever answer and the number of people waiting never change so I emailed them and talk to Anna Orosco who apparently is the highest person you can talk to and after a lot of back and forth and me working from Missouri to find a receipt from a gas station in Florida to show them that I fill out the tank before I returned the car she finally said we will be reimbursing you $176 WHICH IS MY DEPOSIT!!! when I asked her about the other $89 dollars she never responded to my emails anymore that is not ok.Now Im disputing this charges with my bank but the customer service sucks.
Its simply stunning how a company this poorly run could survive a pandemic. So many lives and businesses were lost due to covid-19, and this company is thriving like a cockroach during a nuclear winter. If you are frugal like me, please find a rental car elsewhere. The levels of inefficiency and gross ineptitude are completely dumbfounding. The longer I sit here in this hours long line, Im actually becoming impressed with how terrible the customer service is. Its been over an hour, 50+ people waiting, and four have granted the golden ticket to get cars different from what they reserved. CLASSIC! Love these guys!
We rented a car from Fox rentals in Tampa and literally after a long flight had to wait over two hours to get our car. People were sitting all around the floor and after we checked in we had to wait again in the parking deck to even get a car. This was the worst experience Iβve ever had and we have traveled quite a bit. As we left the check in counter a lady said they had rented from a different company and had a 10 minute wait. This was not the way we wanted to start our vacation. I would not recommend them.
This place seems to be the most popular rental company at TPA as i assumed they offered very competitive price and cheaper than competitors. The staffs are working hard to serve the customers but it seems like to process make it very difficult to handle high demand. This is not employees faults. I hope that the management will figure out the faster/better way to rent a car in order to serve/handle a high demand. This will help reduce the employees stressed and customers frustrations.
We arrived Thursday at 4 and had no line quick in and out. The vehicle was clean but definitely used had about 60000 miles on it. No big deal there. I was worried with the reviews but I did not think it was bad at all. When I checked in they did phrase things like β would you like the basic or deluxe insurance todayβ you have to say neither if you want to decline also was encouraged to prepay for gas but denied that too. You just need to know to say no.
Very rude attendant that was not paying attention and worried about her nails than a customer at window. While on her smartphone, she tried to deter me to another area even though I was supposed to be there. No greeting, then a denial of a rental I paid in advance. When I tried to fix the issue she slammed window shut on me and said I am not renting to you.
Had a reservation for 1030 Am, got there at 1pm ( due to flight delay) and they had cancelled my reservation.Been renting for 20 plus years ... never had this happen to me. Had another reservation with Ace, for the same time and they came through
I donβt know how your moral conscious allows you to run a business like this. You make your customers stand in line for hours, have horrible customer service, and have many scam fees. I asked the employee at the counter if it was always this busy, thinking it must have been an off day, and she said yes.... YOU NEED MORE EMPLOYEES. Why havenβt you hired more?Plus the car has so many little scratches. Itβs not in very good shape.Time is money and I hope I can help someone steer clear of Fox Car Rental with this review. There is no way those 5 star reviews are real.
This place is horrible, we landed in Miami, and we get out of the airport to look from the bus that brings you to the building to get the car, so the bus doesnβt show up for 30 minutes and then when it does show up it blows by us without even stopping and we were with 10 other people. So we end up taking taking a 25$ taxi to go about 3 miles and once we get there, their is only 1 person working there, so we wait 20 minutes until it is are turn to get the car, but it turn out they didnβt have a car for us and we need to go down to the keys so we go back to the airport and then get a $400 Uber for a 2 1/2 hour drive to the keys. So if you are looking in to getting car from fox scam a car just stop and look another place and donβt put your self through this
Good people, decent prices. A little unusual gas policy: bring car back empty. Also, be careful to note that Florida has tolls. Fox has a transponder package that pays all tolls.Update: Not so fast. Bringing tank back empty allows Fox to add a bunch of surcharges. THIS IS NOT A GOOD DEAL. The effective price per gallon was about $3.50 (after fees and surcharges) while the street price was $2.03. THIS IS A SCAM.

Customer service is awful, and rude! Flight cancelled, not my fault. They changed the price 250.00 dollars for me picking me up 8 hours later. The representative told me several times I dont mean to be rude but..Totally unprofessional and terrible.
