Needed a vehicle while we waited for delivery of a purchased car. Rather than using ride share we decided to rent a vehicle to give us some more freedom around Tampa. Marissa was extremely helpful in getting my rental taken care of. Ended up in an extremely nice vehicle that I couldn’t be more happy in. Will definitely use Advantage in the future for any rental car needs.

Making this reservation was very easy, I was excited to get more than a fair deal on rate, and pre paid gas at lower than current fuel price. My face to face agent was MARISSA, her efficiency and thoughtfulness was most appreciated. I found everyone I dealt with for this 2 weeks rental to be very kind, at ADVANTAGE, keep it up✅👍‼️

My experience didnt start out good. My flight arrived after they closed so I had to call to change my reservation for the following morning. When I went to pick up my car the following day, the rep, Marrissa told me the person I talked to cancelled my reservation instead of changing it. I was upset because as you know its hard getting a rental car last minute, especially because I reserved it for 8 days. Marissa told me she was going to do everything she could to help me. She kept looking and even said she would try to find me something that would keep me in the same price that I made the original reservation for. She kept talking me through what she was doing. She even asked me if I had a preference on the vehicle color (which I always do but at this point I was willing to take anything). She found me a vehicle for the same price I originally had my reservation AND the color I wanted! She really went above and beyond for me! She saved my vacation! I was so upset and she really just made the difference. People in customer service dont understand the importance of their job. She could have easily said, Im sorry, thats not my problem. She really cared. I literally had tears in my eyes when I left. I even said a prayer for her. I hope that she is super blessed because she was a blessing for me that day for sure. And if she took her time for me that way, I know she does it for others. That is true customer service! I really hope this company takes care of their employees because they are truly blessed to have Marissa. Thanks again, Marissa for all your help! You are the only reason I am giving 5 stars!

Rented a car for a week from Tampa airport. This company had the best prices by far and the vehicle we were given was almost brand new. I really appreciated how quick the process of picking up the vehicle went we were out of the airport and on our way in now time. I would definitely recommend this company if you are looking to rent a vehicle.

Did not have cars ready to fill reservations, and had people return vehicles there werent in proper working condition, all while I waited for over 40 minutes to get to vehicle to have another employee give me instructions that were unclear rude after filling out the damage in vehicle she walks away from the counter and ignores me as I try to return the form. Marissa tried to do her best with what she was working with, but customer service is not the to priority of this company. If it is, it isnt at this location. I would try another place if there is an option.

This was my first time traveling via airplane and also renting a car. We got a very nice Nissan and it was very clean and they also give you a full tank of gas. I have never used Advantage car rental before, but after my recent experience, I will absolutely use them again! From counter to car pick up, everyone from Advantage was kind, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The process was so easy, and the price was extremely affordable. The car was clean and ready to go upon pickup, and the drop off was as easy as can be. A+ experience overall, and I am looking forward to the next trip back to Tampa where I will definitely be using Advantage for my car rental needs :)

I was with 5 other adults and a lot of luggage at the Tampa Airport. The place I had reserved a rental car from had a line at least 100-150 people long and there was one person behind the counter. We didnt want to wait for hours to probably NOT get the vehicle we needed. I walked up to the Advantage counter and there was one couple in front of me. I was greeted by a really nice person who got us the type of vehicle we needed, and matched the special price we had at the other place. We were in and out in ten minutes, perfect vehicle, nice person to deal with...when we go back well use them again! The trip was two weeks ago - wed probably still be in line at the other place!

Wound up in Tampa without a ride to my final destination. A last minuterental with Advantage Rent A Car turned out to be a wonderful solution to an unplanned situation. I was greeted with a smile at the rental counter. ZERO hassle about what type car, upgrades, etc... I was off and rolling quickly in a very clean automobile. Returning was the same, very easy and also greeted with a smile when returning my keys to the counter. I will definitely be renting with Advantage Rent A Car again.

We called ahead and booked it. The booking quote was 240.00 for 6 day with a Hyundai santafe or similar and that was with (taxes and fees.) So we reserved it . This is 3 weeks ahead of our arrival we get to Tampa and get to the booth there is no one there to help us so we walk around and have to ask the other rental companies. We get to the last one he says yea I can help you out so he takes us over to the advantage rental booth. He says well im gonna have to upgrade you but it will be for free and then by the time we were done it was 469 plus the 250 deposit on top of it . Dont use them they are snakes and they will rip you off.

A few hidden fees and add-ons to the listed rate. Not a surprise, really, but heres why only 2 stars: They rented a car to me that was completely bone dry in the windshield washing solvent reservoir. I would never let that happen in any of my cars, and its stunning that they would. Of course, when I found out it was dry was when I really needed it. Thanks for putting me in danger, people. Its a basic safety item, its not rocket science.

Adrian and Robert were extremely helpful. They were pretty quick to change my car when I asked. Robert even cleaned the new car so I could have a different vehicle. I looked at other reviews and I did not have the same experience. The reason for the Ace workers is that the two companies are the same now... Didnt seem shady at all having worked in the business previously. The nice lady who checkecked me in was pleasant and helpful (Yesenia?) I think. The comment about the extra charges that could happen are laid on in the contract... In fact when you initial and sign, that is what you are signing... Read people!!! Anyway, I give them 5 stars for friendliness and service. Thanks.

I booked on line 2 days in advance only, my plane was late, I was in my car in minutes after signing papers. The car was new, clean, and the service was excellent. There were no problems. Only one person working in garage. As soon as I pulled out garage dashboard light came on that reference to see car manual. There was NO car manual in the glove box. I called road Side assistance on paperwork I was given who I assume the third party company. They asked where I want car towed and I was baffled as I had just flown to the state and do not know the area. I also was dumbfounded they were willing to pick up the car and leave me strand.I was onliy n Florida for three days and Desperate for car rental. My flight landed late in the day and there was no other renters available. Fortunately dashboard light did not come on again. I am disappointed no one from customer service ever followed up with me.

Utterly HORRIBLE! I surely wish Id checked reviews 1st. I had requirements for a last minute trip to Tampa, planned to last less than 12hrs so I checked for a car for a 1 day rental. Advantage popped up in my search engine. While it was easy enough to book, getting the actual car was another story. 1st, I receive a text to confirm on the day of travel. I reply Yes as requested, but I guess no one received that message. As when I arrived in Tampa 1.5 hrs before closing of their desk, there was no one there. I waited and approximately 5mins later a young lady came to tell me to go to ACE and they would honor the rate. Im now 4th in line and hear the customer at the counter being told that his reservation has gone up because of the cars that are leftReally????? Youve got to be kidding me. I will pay what I reserved and ONLY that! Theres 1 person working a 4 position post and hes telling people behind me that even though they have reservations that he is trying to get them a car.STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!Advantage should change their color and logo to a BIG Red A - Like the scarlet letter.

We set our reservation up for 830 pm which we knew might be be just a little bit early. When we got there at 9pm there was no one there & a sign saying to go to Ace Rent a Car for rental. Ace rent a Car had a long line & only ONE person working! I am not happy about this at all as we still have a 3 hour drive to our final destination & at this point well be lucky if we get our car by 10pm. If there isnt going to someone working at YOUR booth during times people are picking up then you should inform them of that at time of rental so they can choose to go elsewhere before booking with your company!

Booked through Priceline as it was the most affordable rate. Got to the counter and there was a sign at Advantage advising to go to ACE for service. The representative from ACE then walked us back to to the Advantage desk and pulled up our reservation. Picking up process overall went relatively smoothly and quickly. However, our flight changed to an additional day and when attempting to call Advantage to extend the car rental, we were unable to get a hold of a live person at all! This was extremely alarming. I reminded my husband that at the airport the associate who helped us mentioned that ACE was the same company as Advantage. So my husband calls up ACE. The representative at ACE had no idea what we were talking about which was another red flag. The representative from ACE sent an e-mail to someone at Advantage while on the phone with us. We eventually get a call back from someone at Advantage who states that we need to drive to the airport in order to extend the rental. My husband had to drive two hours in order to do this, just so they could quickly print out a piece of paper and hand it to him. This was such an inconvenience during our vacation.

I just have to write a review because Marissa the agent at the front desk at the airport was so nice, and so were the staff in the parking ramp. We are so happy we didnt select Fox rental car because the line was soooo long at the airport and there was no line at Advantage. We had a slow leak in our tire on our vacation and they delivered a new car right away! I would totally recommend Advantage Rental Car.

Mixed feelings. My flight got in early. Most places let you to take a car early, but they made me sit for an hour to then come up to the desk and my car was magically ready. The customer service staff was pleasant enough about it. The other issue is while I sat waiting, listening to screaming kids with their mom waiting on Dad to get the car, other reviews are accurate in that it is fairly understaffed - only one person. And the $25/toll charge sounds scary! Glad I saw that in another persons review.

This is the worst place in the entire world. I would not send my enemies here. After traveling here I was told that there were no more cars available and next time I should use a “better reservation system”. After the employee feuded with another customer we were told we could have a car. The wait time was over an hour and there were only two people in line. I tried to eat a snack and was told that would damage the run down interior.

We were flying in from Illinois to Tampa Florida. We made reservations four weeks in advance. When we arrived there was only one person working the rental counter. Our reservation was for 12 noon pickup we got there at 1:45 she told us that our reservation had expired and no car was available. The other rental agencies were busy after checking with every other agency there was nothing available except luxury or high end sports cars. Well i guess no car for us on vacation. Will never book with these people again.

I arrived at TIA on 12/19/2020. Female worker at Front Desk very rude and arrogant. Rep was very sarcastic when asking questions concerning reservations. After standing in line for 45mins listening to her express her frustration about her not being able to communicate with the “Guys” (the co-wrkers who pull the cars), I decided to Cancel my Reservation and Happily book with Hertz, whom provided us with a quick and friendly experience!

Believe it or not this people are thieves... they charged me for 3 days almost 700 dollars... they did not refund my deposit they took my 200 dollars plus another 85 dollars for mileage ... they also took 56 dollars for fuel when i returned the car at 95 percent fuel capacity.... they could not explain to me the mileage over price... people go to big companies they thieves and many hidden fees ..... never again

Friendly service, professional counter agent. Good rates through their corporate program, especially now, during peak season in Florida. The only issue was that there was only one agent on duty during this very busy time. There should have been more agents on duty to handle the line of customers awaiting their rentals. But having said that, Im pleased with the service, the car, and the rates. I rent cars very frequently, and this was my first rental from Advantage. The experience was good and Ill be back.

The people who helped us talked to us nicely. The system is set up poorly. They gave me a car without USB port. I asked for a car with USB port but they refused to do so because system didn’t allow them to change car for that reason. Car seatbelt has mold or some weird stain. They also sold me a toll tag which is not useful.

My $300 car rental from May 2019, turned into $600 an ENTIRE YEAR later.I am not one to make posts like this, but I am extremely unhappy with Advantage Rent A Car.Back in May 2019 I rented a car while on vacation in Florida for $300 at Advantage Rent A Car who offered the best deal... This was already expensive for us since we were under 25 at the time. We returned the car and everything was great.Fast forward to September 2019, I receive a $100 charge from Advantage Rent A Car on my credit card. This was odd because I hadnt rented a car since May 2019.I called Advantage Rent A Car and was on the phone with them for over 3 hours. They have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced. They were so rude and unhelpful, would hang up, transfer me, give absolutely no empathy or explanation towards this situation.Apparently when you rent a car from Advantage Rent A Car you give them permission to continually charge your card???????Fast forward to March 2020 and Advantage Rent A Car charged my credit card an ADDITIONAL $200.So now my $300 card rental turned into $600 and Advantage Rent A Car IS ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN. I will never use any of these companies EVER again and have cancelled my Master Card in hopes to stop this scam. DO NOT EVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

So I booked my rental through Priceline and have never had an issue until now Made! The workers are all sitting around AWAY from their working area chit chatting, I had to seek out help instead of being greeted when I arrived with an appointment to pick up my rental. I MADE SURE TO READ THE FINE PRINT before clicking agree; NO WHERE Did I see any explanation of individuals who have State ID for rental area being limited on miles. I no longer live in Florida but I do still have my Florida ID; My confirmation shows unlimited miles and it was NOT upheld, instead I was told I NEEDED a $25/day Milage package! Upon returning my vehicle, My information in the system (ALTHOUGH SPELLED OUT CLEARLY WHEN ASKED) was incorrect and had to be changed. First experience and I am definitely going to make sure it is my last.

Today morning I went to this place to rent a car via Priceline. One representative started seeing the details of my booking. As Priceline had mentioned unlimited mileage and no restrictions of going out of Florida state of any sort in the contract. Reaching upon this Airport place, this person started saying you can drive only 150miles per day and cannot travel anywhere out of Florida. I politely refused this offer as the contract info was totally not what I looked upon. Giving this rating and telling all my closed ones to not take rental from this company as he was rude at the first place and started saying conditions as he wished. Just felt like sharing to the people who think about renting from here. Think twice before you waste your money. I lost my Uber charges too (Curly haired with Glasses)

Arrived at counter a little later than scheduled because my flight was delayed. Counter person took care of the two in front of me and the next thing I know I am getting in the exact model I asked for and I’m heading towards the beach. Driving a very nice and clean new rental suv for the next five days. As easy as getting the unit it was just as easy to turn it back in at the airport in Tampa. Will use Advantage again.

Quoted $72 on cheapo air the receptionist billed me for $380. I will never book with them again. We had an emergency and flew in as fast as we could with the car already added to the reservation. I was told “you should’ve read the fine print.” When I showed her my itinerary she said “oh your right, there is no fine print.” We flew in to take my mother off life support and didn’t have time to argue. I booked with Advantage via Priceline at the last minute due to a death in the family. Was a bit skeptical as reviews were only so-so. But overall experience getting and returning the car was very good. Employee at the desk was friendly and helpful even though her estimate of the Nissan Versa’s mpg was off. The mpg turned out to be better. Car was clean and ready to go when I got to the lot. Leaving and returning were smooth. I did have to wait a bit to turn over the car when returning but not significant. I would rent from Advantage again.

Horrible experience!! The car given to us looked like a car that has been in several accidents- scratched up, multiple dings, door damaged with rust from being hit- inside was dirty- over 40,000 miles. Julie at the desk was informed of the car and its condition. She informed me that all the other cars were reserved- no other cars left- nothing she could do. Luckily, i had another backup reservation with enterprise- boy what a difference!!!! Courteous- they actually care for their customers—- 5* enterprise. 1/2* advantage- shame on them - Run the other way people!!!!

My experience was pleasurable, it was a lot less hassle then what I was anticipating. There were 2 counters, and one was set up for another rental service. The agent saw I was waiting and called me over and switched the service over for Advantage. Everything was explained to me and I selected my options and off I went. Drop off was like 1-2 minute process.

Car they gave us had a slow leak in the tire which ended in a flat tire. We called them to let them know what happened and they told us to return the car to the Tampa Bay airport and they’d give us a different car. After driving for 3 hours to get to Tampa, they were out of cars and told us to go get the tire fixed and they would reimburse us. The first tire place they sent us to was closed. So we went to the second recommendation, which was in a sketchy neighborhood. I did not feel my family was safe. We didn’t get it fixed and just drove back to our hotel, which took another 2.5 hours, on the spare tire, only allowed to go 50mph. Dropped the car off today and was told that we would be able to keep our deposit. And they would give us a 10% discount. Wow, a whole $20, which we can get cheaper on Priceline anyways. Would NOT recommend this rental company. Missed out on LEGOLAND, which was the whole reason we came down. DO NOT RENT WITH THEM!!!

I was just telling my husband about this awesome agency! Always print, good service never an issue. I booked with them for my May trip and was coming online to book for my October trip when I noticed only 2.5 stars. I had to write something to help their rating. Not sure what all the other guests are complaining about as I dont care to read them. From my personal experience they have been fanty. Understaffed. Check-In took a solid half hour. Getting my vehicle took another half hour. Was offered a toll pass, but declined as we have never taken a toll road while in Tampa area. However, this time we took 2. Toll fee was $2.88 total. Advantage policy is to tack on another $25 per toll rather then a reasonable fee and forwarding on or taking care of it. So I paid $52.88 for the 2 tolls. Id classify this as gouging. Car and drop off were fine as it was after hours and I didnt have to wait on anyone. All in all I was unhappy with the time required to get into the car. The fees were simply icing on the cake. I will take my business elsewhere.

Great company and great service. The service was fast, I was in line and out the door in under 7 minutes (looking at my watch because I was late for an appointment) and the car they gave me was clean and very well maintained. I found everyone to be really nice and you cant beat the price. Many thanks for a great experience.

This place is terrible, avoid at all cost! The customer service was horrible and all the hidden fees you know nothing about until you try and pick up your rental car. They have to book through Priceline to get people to rent their cars.... I wish Priceline knew how this place was really ranning their business....

Showed up 20-30 min late to pick up a RESERVED car and they told me I had to wait two hours for a car to show up. Mind you, this is a rental located at an airport where flights can oftentimes be delayed and things don’t go as scheduled. They offered no additional assistance. The woman at the front desk was very un-empathetic as she consistently told me I was late and I should have prepaid. Although I had prepaid for the collision damage insurance. Which she rudely informed she had nothing to do with the refunds. She couldn’t even tell me what company could help refund the money. I proceed to go to other rental car places that tell me they only have cars available for $200. Which was about $150” more expensive than what I had agreed to pay with advantage.Moral of the story, reserving a car with Advantage means nothing. Don’t prepay for collision insurance because that will get lost when they don’t have a car available for you (even when it was reserved). The receptionist is rude and will consistently tell you not to be late next time, as if I could control flight diversions that result in 20 minute delays.

Check-in was super easy. Gregory explained all our options clearly and was very knowledgeable about the area. We told him which way we were heading and he was able to tell us which toll roads wed be traveling on and gave us some good local tips! Easily the best check-in experience weve ever had with a rental car company.

The absolute worst experience Ive ever had renting a car. The front desk staff showed up 20 minutes late to my 6am reservation. I booked a full-sized sedan and was only able to get a compact sedan or wait and extra two hours to get the car I paid for but wait, theres more. They did not reimburse the price difference for getting into a smaller car. They did however offer me a minivan but I was planning on driving about 600 miles so I wanted something with good fuel economy plus what kind of 25 year-old wants to drive a minivan in Miami. It took 45 minutes to get into my vehicle because they didnt have it clean and when I told them the tire pressure light was on, they did nothing to fix it. So to make things better they offered me 10% off my next rental through the company. WHY WOULD I EVER USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN. Let this be a warning to all.

You get what you pay for, this company is inexpensive and the cars are basic. The car was a newer model and I felt safe driving it. It was slightly dirty on the outside but no big deal. Customer service was nice enough. I will definitely rent from this company again.

We reserved a car through another rental company for our Florida trip and that company ran out of cars! They referred us to Advantage, who beat the other company’s price and gave us an upgrade! The service with Advantage was top notch! Easy peasy pick up and return! We will definitely be loyal customers! Thank you so much Advantage!
