Many leaves at bottom of pool. Car was towed today so that power washing crew could clean parking lot. Management should have just came to the doors of the few people who forgot and knocked to remind them to move their car. Instead the hired a towing company to remove owners cars at the cost of $150.
Frequent visitor of grand key as one of my friends is a renter here for around 4 years. I was over this past weekend staying over night on Saturday. We were parked in his reserved parking spot for around 15 minutes on a phone call. At 1:35am as we exited the vehicle we were held at gunpoint in an unfortunate armed robbery. The gate was broken at the time and probably still is now. Desperately looking for phone access we eventually got someone to call security on our behalf. The response wasnt as quickly as I expected. Hopefully our unfortunate turn of events can push some urgency into keeping a gated community probably gated, and security being taken as more of a priority. To the current residents, please be vigilant and look out for one another.
Please do not live here. The HOA (Grand Key Condominium Association) is the most unprofessional circus I have ever seen. The lady slammed the door in my face and is impossible to get in contact with. If you have any maintenance issues that have to go through her, dont expect any resolution in a timely fashion.
I have lived at Grand Key for over 6 years. Overall the complex is quiet, safe, and well maintained.
Im an owner at Grand Key. Its located in a very convenient area with easy access to Tampa and St Pete. The pool is very nice and its quiet most of the time. Most of the negative comments on here are regarding the parking situation. There are few guest spots; its a huge complex with lots of units, so space is at a premium. Every unit has assigned parking spaces. You know the number of assigned spaces when you buy/lease a unit, so I dont know why it seems to come as a surprise that people cant find room for their extra vehicles.
I am giving this condo 1 star simply because the parking situation is such a PITA and is something that should not be occurring anywhere, but especially at these prices.-There is only 1 reserved spot per unit. Other parking is only available via cutthroat competition for guest spots. Often time, it is easiest to park across the street at Lowes and just walk back to the condo. Spots outside of the main office are available (briefly) during the day as they ALL fill up quite quickly.Other aspects of living here: the grounds are kept clean, the pool is nicely kept and not too frequently overwhelmed with screaming children. The pool area has 2 charcoal grills that may be used (without prior approval).-The workout facility is an absolute joke, unless you are recovering from a quadruple heart bypass.-The indoor (nice) basketball gym sports decent hours -- remains open to 3am during the week, but over the weekend everything changes. The court does not open until 12 NOON ON THE WEEKEND. The gym has a few lights that are out that have yet to be replaced for quite some time. The location is nicely centered with a variety of shops and centers within very short distances. Majority of the gripes I have could possibly be overlooked, if the price was better or if I didnt have to endure daily chest pain and cerebral hemorrhage in order to locate a spot to park my car.Hope this helps a little bit.
This place is close to everything! Not far from St Pete. 10 minutes to downtown Tampa. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. I see that negative comments posted are about parking in someone’s reserved parking spot and getting towed. Some people refuse to accept personal responsibility I guess. Guest spots are clearly marked. Also, the area is very clean.
This place is a joke. The location is great, but parking is always an issue and the management company is beyond awful. They are quick to reprimand owners for the most ridiculous things, but yet can not do their part and maintain the property well. They are impossible to contact in emergency situations, and always have an excuse for why things are broken and not sustainable for living. On top of it all the office manager is ignorant and rude. I warn you, do not purchase property here.
Place was fine but the parking is TERRIBLE. I don’t normally write reviews but I’ve just had one too many nights of driving around looking for spots. I was told to park at the Lowe’s across the street.
I have lived in grand key for 2 years and I will say I’ve enjoyed it. It is close to everything! Coming from Harbour Island, I didn’t realize how important it was to have a Publix, target, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks etc. all within a mile. Nice and friendly people, safe for sure.BUT.. and the huge but is.. the parking is absolutely a nightmare. I live in a 3 bedroom with only 2 parking spots and this is how most come. You would think since we pay to live here monthly that we’d be secured a spot. But no, we have to fight for guest spots or park at Lowe’s. I don’t think it’s safe for anyone to be walking across the street late at night. I just wish the management would have some motivation to fix this issue because then I would rate it 5 stars and I think more people would be happy.
I parked in a reserved parking spot on accident for two hours while visiting my friend. It was night and the reserved parking was next to 3 or 4 guest parking spots so I assumed that the small line of parking spots were all guests. My car got towed & now I have to pay $205 for parking two hours in a wrong spot on accident because whoever had the reserved spot decided to call security. Not to mention there is no signage for the guest vs. reserved areas, it’s poorly painted on the black top and extremely faded from the sun & rain. Their best advise was to park at Lowe’s across the street of a busy highway & assured me my car was safe at the towing location. I’m more concerned about the $205 I know have to pay to get my car out because the towing place is closed when I called. I won’t be visiting this place again.
They do a really good job of keeping the grounds clean. There are dog waste station all over the place and they are used. The parking has improved some. I am happy living here
I have moved for my job several times over the last 20 years and stayed in several hotels / corporate housing facilities. This is by far the worst I have ever stayed in. It is dirty, it is poorly maintained and it is terribly operated. One example..... 200 or so units, 6 visitor parking spaces. Other than a nice pool, I know of no redeeming qualities. If you are looking for a place to stay or if your company offers this place......... run, run away very fast.
Ive lived at the Grand Key Condominiums for about two years now. Im currently active duty in the Army and my fiance lives with me. Im going to list off the Pros and Cons of living here and what you should expect. I loved living here in the beginning of my lease, they have wonderful scenery and take good care of the landscape. The apartments are nice, clean and well taken care of. This is where things get ugly, you only have one day to pay rent if you miss it then you get a Threat Letter of eviction if this happens within the next 12 months they say they will evict you. Usually complexes like this give you 5 business days to pay rent. Hurricane Irma passed by and MacDill AFB was put on orders to leave the area, with that i got my apartment ready by putting tape on the window in the shape of an X so the hurricane wont shatter the windows. Im looking out for the property. After coming back to the Grand Key I was sent TDY for a few weeks. I received a call from management saying to take it down and ignore the letter they just put in the mail. Once again this letter was a Threat Letter saying to take it down and if this happens again in a 12 month period i will have to evict. Now the problem is I have submitted multiple service requests probably 12 times now about trying to get the sinks and the shower to be fixed because Tampa water corrodes the seals and makes the water constantly drip. I have gotten calls but the problem but it has never been fixed so when they have a problem everything has to be done NOW and when you have a problem it will never be fixed. Its a one way road. I fix the problems but they never reciprocate in return. Also they turn on the sprinklers every night and Tampa water is highly chlorinated and it leave white drip spots on your car that messes up the paint.
Great place to live. Very convenient to restaurants and shopping. Beautiful landscaping and pool, gym, and club area. Only downside is lack of parking spaces for guests.
I lived there for two years and loved it. The only downside was only having one reserved parking spot.
Ive owned a condo here for 5 years and love it. Not sure why the pictures posted are of a hotel.
