I made an appointment for 5PM. I left around 7:30PM for a detailed holiday manicure and French tip pedicure. I would recommend this place for people who would like a place to regularly come to for less detailed nails. They care about not leaving gunk under your nails and continually assuring that you like the shape of your nails. Don’t be afraid to speak up. Although I only made an appointment for an acrylic full set, I had the time and was willing to do a pedicure but I don’t recommend doing more than what you made an appointment for here. They didn’t seem busy but it felt like an inconvenience if you know what I mean. My pedicure and pinky nail design that my technician came up with are my favorite part of the whole thing. Fine lines were a struggle to create here.😔 I wish my nail technician used tape to create the lines. Other than that solid 8/10. They offered me drinks, more service and even gave me a gift of lotion on my way out since it is closer to Christmas. 🎄🥰😊 The place was decked out in Christmas stuff.

Ive been coming here for quite awhile, the services were good until today. I came in with my husband, I asked him he should get a pedicure because (Linda) is great last time I had my pedicure. I have dip nails and the lady (never had my nails done by her) tried to RIP IT OFF! She tried to pull it off with a fake nail and I said ouch that hurt and she did it again and rolled her eyes on me. So I decided Im not gonna do it, the way she treated me and i just left. I wasnt sure why she would do it that way! If youre having a bad day dont take it out on your customer!

BEST SALON TO GET NAILS DONE IN TALLAHASSEE!Everyone who works at City Nails is demonstrates great professionalism and is very nice. Their gel and dip manicures are awesome! (I got a dip manicure with chrome from Helen as pictured in my photo). I love the atmosphere, selection of colors and designs, and the timely service. I recommend making an appointment to guarantee being seen at a desired time since some nail techs are in high demand which is understandable since everyone does an above excellent job.

Horrible service! Walked in was one of the only customers in there. I got my nails done and was seated for a pedicure. My feet sat in the water for 25 minutes and got cold. Staff walked around saw this and only decided to care when I was about to leave. The person doing my nails didn’t even tell me he was leaving just got up and left to do someone else’s nails! The excuse given by someone was he didn’t speak good English, but he spoke fine English while doing my nails. 0/10 bad service! I’ll never go back. I’m not sure if it was because I am black, but I’m never going back. Poor service. Communication is key went across went across the street to Nail Nook who provided great service!

My toes love this place. They get pampered and polished delightfully. The polish lasts a long time. The 2 men who worked on me were great. No lines no waiting.

I was told when I got my nails dipped that I could come back for a free repair.. I asked because I always seem to manage to chip a nail. Sure enough, a week later went back with a chip. They were not particularly friendly and seemed annoyed to have to help me. They somehow decided to go over all the nails on one hand even when not needed. The nail needing repair is now darker than all others, the rest of the nails on that hand were left a shade lighter than original since they felt the needed to mess with them. And, these nails were also left bumpy - really unprofessional. The other hand is a completely different shade. Now I just want polish off. Lousy quality and service Waste of my time and money. Will not be returning. Thank you.

My daughter treated me to a birthday pedi-mani. I was very disappointed with the man I had. He was rough, cutting my cuticles to short. It wasnt a professional experience. He never asked me what kind of pedi I wanted. He was checking his email during the process. Too many nice salons to pick the next time.

I have been to many places with great service, and honestly never felt compelled to take the time to write a review. But after today, I feel that City Nails truly deserves to have other people know how wonderful they are. The people were not only extremely kind, but also did an AMAZING job! I had my nails done somewhere else today and unfortunately it did not come out nice- and it cost me $40. My only option was to get them done again because I have an event to attend at the College of Medicine. Thankfully I found City Nails after goggling best nail salon in Tallahassee. I called them and they were kind enough to let me go even though they were supposed to close in 5 minutes. After getting there they assured me that they would do a great job- and they did! And on top of that they were understanding of my situation and did not charge me full price. Now THAT is customer service.

Ive been going for years. Always love my nails. Niki is my nail tech. Salon is very clean always. They have great customer service. The owners greet me by my name always. The atmosphere is tastefully decorated. The music is relaxing. Always a good experience.

I am writing his review the day after my manicure and pedicure. When I left the salon yesterday, I knew Id received a mediocre job. My nails were painted unevenly on my nail beds and my toes had paint on the skin. I paid $64+$10 tip for a terrible pedicure and gel manicure. While I was seated quickly Michelle barely spoke to me. I assume this is her name because this was the name of the equipment on her station. Instead of introducing herself to me and being personable, she spoke her native language to her colleague and barely paid me any attention. Im actually completely fine with that, if shed done her job properly. Again, my manicure is uneven and chipping already, and my pedicure was uneven and painted on my skin. Ill never go back. Id rather pay $10 more and go to millennium or royal nail.

I am pleased to write a review for Nail City. They were very thorough and I did see staff cleaning their tools. I suggest that those who wrote a review before me open their mouth and let it be known when they are not satisfied. Dont wait until after you have paid and/or left the facility to complain. Look at your nails while they are being done. I am sure if you find something wrong or feel as though they are being to rough they will change. I have had no problems with this place at all.

This place was amazing! Im a biter--nail and cuticle. After ten minutes, Amy had my fingers so cleaned up you could never tell. The gel manicure came out beautifully, and my nails look better than when I had acrylics. Ive never had a better manicure, and the price was lower than some Ive had. I cant wait to go back.

The one stars are for the services I received today. I must say if you are a regular, they are extra friendly and call customers by name. Today was my first time there and atmosphere was nice and relaxing . However, I think I received the wrong tech. My pedicure is not nearly was what I’mUse too. The tech was old ( seem like the mom of the shop) she was not hipped to the new stuff and I had to guide her on how to file, shape and polish my toes . The owner seen her struggling by on my feet so they talked badly about me in their language . They proceeded to check on me after they seen the mess up. I WILL NEVER RETURN. I hate supporting those who makes a wealthy living in our country and give bad services. Horrible experience.

Terrible. Will never go back! Male employees creeped me out. Only part I liked was the calve massage of the pedicure. The guy did a good job on that, but my toenail polish on my right big toe got a large chip within 24 hours. Paid $45 for SNS nails which is supposedly the next greatest thing. Not worth the money. Started chipping off in less than 10 days. And they lady who did them was rude and kept pushing my hand away from me after she was done with one hand. Waste of $100. I still gave a generous tip even though the whole experience overall was terrible. Even the complimentary wine was gross and I’m usually not picky. Avoid at all costs.

City Nails has been taking care of my nails for the last two years. Unfortunately late last week the work done to my hands was done by her and then she referred me to another staff to finish the work. The gel polish did not look right, messy in some nails and I was unsatisfied. The pleasant and respectful male that placed the gel tried to fix the areas were it ran outside the nails over skin but still did not look good. ..I Returned to the salon and spoke with the owner. This lady looked at my nails and stated there is nothing wrong with this nails. I tried to explain my concern but she acted no interested to here from me. I asked for the staff that usually take care of my hands to fix the gel polish for me. She agreed. The guy that did the nails suggested to change the gel color so I agreed. I started looking for a particular gel number that I have used before. The owner started harassing me loudly while working with a client. She kept chouting and pointing the only gels rack she had but the colors werent light as usually I use. In my way to a last rack I found the get lcolor I wanted. She yelled cross the room Oh those are gel. I was doing the same routine all clients do to find their polish color. I was embarrassed the way this lady kept treating me and in front of staff and other clients. Finally my tech arrived and worked my nails. Still I ended with irregularities but I did not have the time to start over again and have to take the verbal abuse and disrespectful attitude of the owner. I asked if there was a fee for fixing the previous work done. I was asked same amount I paid for the original work. I disagreed, if the work was correctly done then I wouldnt have to come back. The owner kept arguing loudly about prices and continued her disrespectful attitude toward me. I attempted to show a picture of the original work done in the nails to justify a discount because it was not fair paying a work twice that she was responsible to resolve. She kept her rude unprofessionalism staring loudly I DONT WANT TO SEE IT, I DONT CARE. I paid the fee and left. Left to never return. I deserve being respected in my own country and have the right to express my concerns or problems in any service received. Especially if I am not satisfied with a work I already paid as a client.

I love my chrome nails!

My nails were pretty torn up through cleaning from my move. I wanted my acrylic nails soaked off and a new set put back on. Unfortunately water had gotten under my nails while I was cleaning and caused a fungus to start. I had no clue until the nail tech Kent showed it to me on two different nails. I asked him if it would grow out and he said to make sure and come back in two weeks and hell check it. After further research, nail fungus does not go away without treatment and everything Ive seen says you MUST take the nails off for the healing process to even begin. He did not put on fresh tips like I requested but used my existing natural nails. Add to that the fact he continued to work on my nails with his normal equipment and made no attempt to sanitize it knowing I had a fungus on two nails. $50 I was charged for this and I left him an $7 tip because the nails did look beautiful.This looks like a clean shop when you walk in but they do not sanitize their equipment and will take your money rather than protect the health of your nails. I dont care if this was the last salon in this city, I wouldnt go back.

I went in for a full set of acrylics the lady that did my nails rushed through. They were uneven and not shaped properly. It was almost like each nail had a different shape. Within a week one popped off. I was trying to talk to her and be polite she ignored me the whole time. The work was poor and the people were rude. Oh! And she made to my cuticles bleed! I will never go back!

Um lets see where should I start...1. Horrible pedicure2. Cant file and shape nails to save a life3. Worst nail polish application Ever4. Acrylic application from the realms of HELL5. Talks about customer in Chinese (especially when you tell them that you dont like your nails)6. Quick & happy to charge you but not quick &happy about fixing their bad work7. Even when they fix your nails, its still horrible8. Save your money and time!!!

A day after my pedicure I noticed sensitivity in my big toe. Two days later I realized I had a nasty infection. I was forced to put my day on hold to go to the doctor and get a prescription for antibiotics. I have never had a problem with an infection after a pedicure and I was extremely disappointed that this $29 pedicure resulted in an infection that required medical attention. They were accommodating when I asked for a refund, which I did appreciate, but I was not reimbursed for tip, co-pay at the doctors office, or the cost of the medication to fix their mistake. And they made me point out my nail tech in front of him which was very awkward and uncomfortable. Overall very disappointed with this nail salon.

I usually get my nails done at another shop but it was too busy and I had to get them done for an event the next day so I decided to go here. The place itself is very nice and the equipment seems sterile, but I am not impressed with my nails. I asked for square round acrylics and I got them, but they are very thick and oddly shaped as the tech basically just put a big blob on my nail and barely evened it out, not to mention that the filing job wasnt that great either. There were many clear overlays under the nail that had to be filed down by another tech, and after she did it she said something along the lines Can you breathe now? almost like I was being a perfectionist and that the nails didnt actually need to be fixed. I should NOT be able to pull left over acrylics from my nail, which is what I could do before she refiled them. The coloring wasnt great either; a few nails are clearly darker than the others and there are slivers along the sides a few of my nails that didnt even get polish on them. I paid $48 plus a tip and Im not impressed at all. Definitely going back to my old shop that is much cheaper, the staff is more personable, and the nails are much better quality.

I went for a pedicure & full set. This my second time going. First time i just went for a pedi. Both timea they were very rude, rush to do your nails, the acrylic started chipping at the beginning of my nails, I didnt get the length i asked for,the nail polish on my toes chipped after 3 days, I will never go again. My girlfriend went here for a French manicure in preparation for a job interview. I waited in the waiting area...the place was extremely loud as employees were shouting across the salon.I was also getting sick from tobacco smoke - employees smoking right outside with the doors wide open.Then, my girlfriend was upset by the quality...nails of varying lengths not even remotely similar to what she requested. We went back to get it fixed and they were rude about it.No “thank you,” “please,” “I’m sorry” or anything like that in their vocabulary. Salons are discretionary services (you don’t have to have it)...and there are many choices/competitors out there...so they should be polite, relaxing, clean, and the workers appreciative of customers.World Nails by Esposito’s (behind Carraba’s) on Capital Circle is much better. Quiet, friendly, sanitary, reasonable prices, etc.

I had a wedding to go to so (first time in Tallahassee, fl) i went to city nails cause I needed my nail color change so I did a nails fill and color change on my toes which suppose to be cheater then doing the full set. Anyway I paid 60 plus 10 for tips. Do you know the polish on my toes messed up by the time we made it to Ill room. I was so pissed and didnt have time to go back. So I had to wear boots. Which I didnt put on until I got to where the wedding was taken place. Now the polish just didnt dry so when I had my boots on my polish pushed to one side of my toes nail and some came off. Now my finger nail was good except one of my thumbs. You really cant tell unless you really look at it and it was messed up by it gel you can remove it like regular polish as she tried to fix it but you can still see it. But im not made bout the but my toes Im mad. I have to pay again to fix my feet but with a pedicure this time. Im glad I didnt get a pedicure I would of called my card and dispute the charges for a pedicure. Bad experience being a new customer their. Bad for rating

I was looking forward to a pedicure, and went to City Nails (I was referred there by a client). Because of Obamacare, my annual physical that morning was free, so I decided to splurge, and treat myself to a pedicure. I was welcomed by a nice young lady who got me some cold, refreshing pink lemonade, then directed me to pick out my polish. This was my first disappointment, and where all pleasantries ended. The polish selection was sub par: most of the bottles were old, nearly empty, dirty, and gummed up with old polish. I finally selected a nude pink color, chastising myself for not bringing my own polish from home. I was directed to my pedicure station and sat down. The first thing the nail tech said to me was too light and made a disgusted face at me. I said thank you but I like that color trying not to be offended. Its the middle of summer for goodness sake, Im not painting them black. I told her I like my nails short and square, then proceeded to play candy crush on my phone and enjoy the few minutes to myself. Well, I enjoyed precisely zero minutes of my time at City Nails. The entire time I was there the staff yelled across the spa area at each other in Vietnamese: laughing, yelling, bantering and visibly leaving every client in the spa uncomfortable. My nail tech spent more than half the time looking away from me (specifically away from my nails, while she was ripping them apart with nippers) to talk to her co-workers. She yanked and cut and my nails so much, I was almost in tears. I kept saying ouch and thats too rough and she would glance at me irritated that I interrupted her conversation with her co workers. She put callous remover on my feet and then left it on so long it started burning and stinging, leaving an irritation rash on my ankles for the rest of the day. The foot stands of the pedicure bowls are made of hard plastic, and since she didnt put a towel down I had to rest my ankles directly on it. It was incredibly uncomfortable, but any time I would try to shift the weight in my feet she would move them again to the painful position I had been trying to escape. The massage was lackluster at best, but I wasnt expecting anything by this point. I just closed my eyes and tried to meditate and relax the best one could while ones toe nails are being assaulted. She started to paint my toes, and I was grateful the violence had finally ended. However, upon the conclusion of her artistry I noticed she had done a horrible job. I could have painted them better at home and wish that I had. She didnt completely remove my old nail polish so it shows right through my new color. I guess it was too light for my nail tech, since she obviously didnt intend on fully removing the old color. The edges of my nails are rough, and Im sure youre surprised to read that theyre completely rounded (which I hate). I know from experience that this rounding off of my toe nails will lead to ingrown nails and hang nails, which is why I specifically asked her to keep them square. They are already red, pink, and tender, and hurt when I put any pressure on them. Overall I would say that a poor/fair rating is too generous for this establishment, I will never return here, and would strongly urge readers to seek other venues if you want a relaxing pedicure that looks at all decent.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! This place is a scam! It’s not worth the drive OR your time!! I suggest you take your money somewhere else because the people here do NOT care about the customer and the LIE

Horrible service and loud employees shouting the whole time. I walked in and multiple other customers were already complaining... I decided to wait it out and ended up regretting it. Took almost two hours just to get a pedicure, which was terrible all the way around.
