They took advantage of my sons disability for financial gain. My son has a mental disability. Subsequently, I manage his accounts for him. Knowing that he would not remember to notify them in a timely manner, I notified Premiere via email that his membership needed to be cancelled. No one responded to my email and the continued to withdraw funds from his bank account. When I asked for the funds to be returned to him they claimed that we needed to have completed a form by a certain date. They acknowledged that they received my email and that they did not have the professionalism to respond to make me aware of any additional steps that needed to occur. Nevertheless, they refuse to refund my sons money. What makes this worse is that my son lives on a fixed income and can not afford to loose this money for services he has not benefited from.

I’ve been a member for a number of years now. While I joined mainly for racquetball I also used the entire facility. In that entire time I’ve never seen any kind of promotion for racquetball but amazingly enough have been asked by people that walk by and watch us play about how to play. The place started with 3 courts when I joined and is down to 1. Not because of a lack of interest from members but the facility/staff doesn’t support it in my opinion. The gym/weights area has also declined tremendously I’m not sure if it’s since COVID but there is truly a change in how they take care of the place all around

We have been members for a few months now, mostly because of convenience. We originally loved their racquetball ball courts, but now they are down to one. Their equipment is older, and seems to stay broken once they go down. Family swim has also been taken away. But, all in all, you can get a pretty decent workout done.Biggest issue with Premier? Lack of cleanliness. Sooooo many people using machines and not wiping them down before or after. And no encouragement or influence to do so from staff. Between covid and just general germs, this is disgusting. I dont know know if it is ignorance or laziness, but the wipes and towels are there and people just dont seem to care. I cant even imagine the amount of germs and virus and is getting spread. Staff will see and just say nothing, nor do they come over and wipe it down. Now I have to wash anything there before I touch it knowing cleanliness is not encouraged. Truthfully you could just compare the germs on the equipment to a public bathroom.

The staff are great but managment are not very forward thinking. I have graduate degrees in sports administration so Id like to think I know a little about this topic and can provide some perspective.Premiere is the best facility in North Tallahassee. It is also pretty much the only facility too, aside from Forest Meadows which I wouldnt even count. But, if an LA Fitness came to town it would put them out of business pretty quickly. If youre a swimmer you have few other options. If you lift weights, there are plenty of places with equitable equipment and probably better equipment if youre willing to travel a little further. If you play basketball, you can play pickup on their two small courts. I witnessed staff having to break after fight yesterday, so bear that in mind. If you play racquetball, youll have to limit yourself to one court even though they are actually three courts there. They are gradually removing them citing lack of use, but Ive never seen any instruction, any rules, or any type of effort to promote the sport. Basically, unless you already know how to play it looks like an empty box. Theyre also used to be pickleball too, which is the fastest growing sport in the US, but it looks like that is a thing of the past as well.In my opinion, Premier is expensive for what you get. I understand that there is a pool to maintain, but in the 18 months Ive been there, Ive not seen any effort to update equipment. Again, if one of the larger chains came into Tallahassee oh, I think this club would be in danger of losing a lot of customers. I went to Premiere to play racquetball, but the loss of another court, not to mention I cannot invite friends to play because the court floors are not regularly cleaned or maintained, means Ill be moving to another facility. A sad tale. Premiere was conveniant to me, but in the end Id rather drive further for better.

Would have given a five star but they are making it harder and harder to be a member. Other gyms are not as nice with amenities but getting to do the group classes is almost a wish now. They wont add more classes so their members can get into them. There is most time 5 to 11 waiting list 3 days out . You have to go through apps to register,, then temp check then Scan and also re-register AGAIN THAT IS NOT near the area you are going to, before you get in the class. The worst part is other gyms dont force you to wear a mask. At this point. Its a hassle and stressful. The governor says there is no mandate, but some businesses refuse to let you in without one. Its time to move on. Most have their vaccine, covid rate is low and those that want to keep a mask can keep on but others see it as useless.

Visited with my friend who is a member for a workout class. The center is very nice with upgraded amenities and very nice equipment. The multi-level center also has a heated outdoor pool (closed due to cold temps), a basketball court and a studio room where our workout took place. The studio was well equipped and the accessories (steps, barbells, mats etc) were in very good condition. I was very pleased with the ladies locker room which featured restrooms, showers, a sauna and a steam room. All clean and in great condition. It is obvious why this place is so popular! However, the hours of operation are not long enough, especially if you get off at 5 and have to travel to NE Tallahassee. Also, the price is high for a monthly membership.

I would have given it at best 2 1/2 stars. It has most if not all functions that you can expect from a gym. But here is where it all ends. Upper and lower body workout machines are antiquated, going back 15-20 years at least. Reupholstering does not change it. I just came back from Philadelphia where I joined a gym for 1 month. The equipment there was far more advanced. Also, Premier cleanliness is mediocre. Swimming pool and hottub are broke quite often. Walking track is worn out. To summarize, it seems like the gym including its management need a rejuvenation.

Overpriced. I got a membership over the summer because I needed a lap pool closer to home compared to the public one. Every time I went the pool either had bandaids in it or it was dirty. The pools are consistently busy and you will be sharing a lane majority of the time. Most of that lane sharing is going to be with a person that is water jogging, but everyone needs to exercise and they paid for the pool too. They usually empty the hot tub every few weeks to clean it but it doesnt get filled timely. There were more than a few times I didnt see a lifeguard the entire swim.

The price is high, but the facility is nice. Theres plenty of equipment, but as with most gyms, youve got groups of patrons that just ruin it... too many people taking up multiple pieces of equipment and just talking, instead of lifting.Update after a year:I became disgruntled and left when they removed family swim. My wife and I used to love taking our daughter to the pool, during the small couple-hour window on Saturdays. We both had memberships and were both paying for this amenity... very disappointing to have a feature taken away.On the other side of the coin, the play-care is top notch. So while my daughter is not allowed to enjoy family swim any longer, she is able to play with her friends while my wife works out. We can trust the workers in the day-care area, and feel it is a safe system. This is the primary reason my wife kept her membership.I now workout elsewhere.

Ive been a member of Premier for more than 10 years and it has been a great place for me. I like that my membership fee covers everything. No extras and no hidden costs. I get a senior discount and it is very affordable, only a little more than a dollar a day. The instructors are very knowledgeable and there is a very interesting variety of classes. I wish they had more Spin classes and especially Spin classes on Saturday afternoon. But these are small quibbles. BTW, the spin bikes are top of the line, as is all the equipment. The womens locker room has a steam room and sauna, plenty of showers, nice hairdryers, complimentary bags to take your wet bathing suit home and other amenities. It is kept clean too, not like some gyms I have been to where you were afraid to put your feet on the floor. The heated pool and jacuzzi are such a luxury in the winter! I am always greeted in a friendly way when I arrive. There is a really nice social atmosphere. Workouts are challenging but they make it fun.

Premier has plenty of equipment of various types (cardio, strength, etc.) They could offer more classes, but the ones they do offer are generally pretty good! The showers are beautiful and very private, and all of the customer service personnel are friendly. My only real complaint is with the childcare...some of the childcare employees are absolutely excellent, but others leave something to be desired. I had one situation where an employee took my 3.5-month old son into the back room, turned all of the lights off, and blared the TV as loud as it would go, because he wouldnt stop crying. When I arrived to pick him up, he was hysterical and I was livid. Thankfully, that childcare employee stopped working there at the end of 2016. Several of the younger childcare employees sit around without really interacting with the children, and will interrupt your workout and have you come get your child as soon as they start fussing, which kind of defeats the purpose of paying extra for childcare so that you can work out. However, the older employees really care about the children and work hard to keep them happy and safe. Anytime one of the older employees came and got me, I knew that they had tried everything they could think of to calm my baby down and werent just interrupting my workout out of laziness.Overall, this would be an excellent gym for someone who doesnt have children, and a good gym for someone who needs childcare during workouts. Just plan your workouts around the schedules of the older childcare employees! ;-)

I joined Premier last year and immediately took advantage of all the many facets they have to offer. I met with Shannon Moore, Premiers registered dietician, she helped me sort out the food part of my life. Then, on her recommendation, I met with Brandon Roberson. Brandon is a Personal Trainer at Premier. I actually feel like I am slighting him with that title. He is so much more than my trainer. He is my coach. He is my cheerleader. He is my game changer. He reminds me that I can achieve more. I know for a fact I would have never gotten as far as I have without his consistent encouragement, although some mornings it does feel like punishment ;-) Thank you, Brandon and Shannon and really, all the staff at Premier for creating such a welcoming environment and culture. #gottahaveit

Probably the best-equipped gym in Tallahassee, with pricing to match. Locker/changing room excellent, spacious, clean, well-maintained. Generally courteous atmosphere. Two complaints:1) There are no clearly-posted rules about equipment usage, so there are the usual number of equipment-hogs doing their super-sets.2) As with most gyms, the staff is allowed to set the music style and volume (at the trainers’ desk), both of which I find offensive (too LOUD). Based on the fact that 85% of the patrons wear headphones, I suspect that the vast majority of the members agree with me. Complaints about this on-site are ignored or resisted.

They close at 10 PM on weekdays and 6PM on weekend which is early IMO for about $60 per month membership fee. Also, takes very long to fix if something gets broken. Id recommend the management do an online feedback/satisfaction survey to better address the low points.

Well that isnt Premier. All the people Ive met that work here are kind. There are some hoops to jump through when you sign up but that just gets you loose for your workout, right?;)It is a place where a lot of different people go, so you may meet some not so nice people… but thats those particular peoples faults and not Premiers. If you meet someone who is unkind, dont worry because there are so many good kind people waiting to back you up and be awesome.Premier is not a gym where you will find those girls that go all dressed up and find the most muscle-y guy they can find and hit on him. When you are finally ready to join the gym, you might be feeling a little anxiety about getting started or be overwhelmed. You might not physically be at your best and walking through those doors can be intimidating. If this is the case, Premier Health and Fitness is not the gym for you.I have never experienced more roadblocks when attempting to become a member. They don’t have to be helpful because their lot is jam packed. The machines are jam pack. The classes are jam packed. Ask for a temporary pass and see for yourself what Premier is all about. Be prepared to fill out forms, make sure you bring your ID, and don’t forget your checkbook. You are about to be owned. If your spouse is a member, there is no break for joining as a family. If you don’t join at the same time, you pay double enrollment fees. Beware of the contracts. Beware of their “policies”. Beware the childcare ups your membership fee significantly. My husband brought my 15 year old niece to play some one-on-one in the gym and had to get the management involved to gain access with her. In response to a question I had, the boy at the counter actually used the words, “we don’t have to…we are owned by TMH”. Its like that. The facility is nice, except they act like they are doing you a favor by allowing you in their gym. Join this gym, if you have a good workout routine going, you know how to use all the equipment and don’t need any kind of workout advice from a “professional”.Otherwise, you can be under contract down the road for a lot less with money, less hoops to jump through, better parking, nicer locker rooms, more helpful staff, more space in the classes offered.

Hands down the best gym in Tallahassee. Now, one may not agree here but that depends of what you are looking for in a gym. For me, I need more than a bunch of equipment that I either dont know how to use, or need to wait in line to use! Whats also important to me is the availability of classes. Sure, there are far cheaper gyms in town, but they offer much less. All of the gyms I know of have some sort of a contract and upfront fee and this place is no different....that is unless you are a law enforcement (sworn) officer. Here are some of the things that attracted me to this gym:ClassesEquipmentBasketball courtRacquetball roomIndoor track (small but its still something no other gyms in town have)Year round heated pool (both lap pool and swimming pool)JacuzziSwimming lessonsLifeguard on dutyLarge exercise room where classes are held2-levelsSteam room and saunaMirror TVs in the bathroomMassage therapy available (additional cost but not too pricey)Tropical smoothie caféSmall library areaChild careHours of operation (no they arent 24 hours but I am not trying to work out at 2am. They open up early enough for the average early bird and remain open late enough for those who dont work standard bankers hours)When I went in for my initial tour, I did not feel any pressure to join. (Gosh Ive had that so many times at other gyms!) This place stays pretty busy but I havent found an issue with parking. There is a key rack by the front desk for those that may wish to hang their keys. There are keyless lockers available and they are a great size. The bathrooms are clean and I often see staff in there cleaning. There are wipes stations to help ensure the equipment remains clean. I also see the floor associates (in the red shirts) that walk around checking the equipment but they are also available for any guest needs. They are usually around so you wouldnt have to walk all the way downstairs to find someone if a problem arose.I definitely come here and spend a couple of hours. Its easy to keep a gym bag packed, enjoy a workout, the pool or sauna, shower, grab a smoothie and then go run some errands! So yes, its going to be about $65 or so per month, but with all that I mentioned above, doesnt it sound worth it... or at least worth a try??

Also why isnt the pool indoors? You could have easily made that an indoor pool. Lastly, how about getting with the times and offering some Aerial Yoga and meditation classes? If you can offer Ballet Barre you can offer Aerial Yoga and certainly you can offer meditation classes. One more thing (and I really shouldnt have to say this) encourage older (senior) members not to harass younger members. Its just rude.

These guys are worse than homeland security. They wont let you in without a photo ID. I feel like Im going through airport security every time I go in there.
