If you want a good place to work out go here! The owners train you and theyre very educated and they both take the time to teach you the correct way to work out and will do what it takes to help you get what you want out of a gym with the best results! I highly recommend this gym! This gym is the best in Pierce County hands down!

I love this gym. It’s just what I needed to come along side me and help me accomplish the workouts with modifications and teaching me the right way to workout and to push me farther than I would allow myself to go if I were doing it alone. The trainers are all very helpful and kind and really care about the people. The people who come are also very like minded, helpful and very supportive.

Grit city is more than just a place to work out and get fit, its a community of awesome like minded people who want the best for everyone! Todays workout was a tough one, but Salim (one of the trainers) made it fun by adding some friendly competition at the end. It sounds crazy Im sure, but once you go to grit city, youll get hooked! I could go on and on but Ill leave it at this :)

Ive been working with Grit City for four months. I have seen a significant reduction in size and increase in muscle and strength. I had a back injury and they have been working with me on improving my mobility and strength. My back pain is almost completely gone and I feel great. Im so happy that I decided to invest in myself.

I have been going to grit city for over a year now. They offer a lunch express class that is perfect for me to do during my work lunch break. I love the coaches and that the workouts are different every day. Its a great gym with great people and I am glad i found it.

Amazing, knowledgeable coaches who keep your form correct to prevent injury. Friendly, helpful classmates. Has a kids area that you dont have to pay for. If they had a way to shower it would be 5 star rating.

Ive been a member of grit for over a year now and I can easily say Im a better person because of it. It has transformed me physically and mentally into a stronger person. I give it 5 stars... And will continue to get my butt kicked by the amazing trainers!!!!

I was given a complimentary dome meditation session. I can’t believe how relaxed I felt afterward. Will definitely be coming back again. The staff is very friendly and kind. They do not pressure you into any kind of plan. I absolutely love it. I was told about an expensive package though. It was $98 a month and you get unlimited done sessions, spa with a couple other knicks and crannies 😉

I love this gym! My wife brought me here on a trial run and Im so glad she did. Everyone that works there truly wants to see everyone that comes in to succeed and become the best they cam be. They work well w all fitness levels as well. Im so glad I found them.

My relationship with GRIT CITY FITNESS AND PERFORMANCE is a life changer.I have never felt like I was part of a fitness community before coming here. I have never felt like my effort was meet with results before coming here.I am 37 years old, and this year is the first time I’ve understood my body’s needs and how to give it the best possible circumstances for health and wellness.I use Jeff’s virtual Team Training, Serena’s Superhero You and nutritional coaching. I’m forty weeks in to recording of nutrition and I don’t ever want to stop habits, nor my relationship with Grit.The virtual training is more than just watching a workout. You can workout live with the coaches... and Jeff is ridiculously good and concise with remembering/recommending substitute movements for your limitations or injuries, and very resourceful with helping you utilize the objects you already have in your home.I have many many many public Facebook posts about this place if you’re still on the fence about investing in yourself.Oh - and the generous outpouring of support and communication through several channels (fb,insta,email etc) is 24/7. They have really really found a way to personalize your health, while still keeping you part of the group. *********** updated 1/12/2021 9mths after the original post below.If I have ever thought myself anything, I thought I was anti gyms. I have walked out of more gyms than I can count, never to return. I have been asked by fitness coaches “what has kept you from joining a gym” and my answer was always “you”.I have walked INTO Grit City Fitness 3-5x a week now for collectively about 5months.I have shifted my priorities.I crave walking through their doors again and again and again. The community they have created doesn’t compare to anything I’ve experienced. Their motto shines through as we all get #bettertogether, even those like me who have purposely isolated from communities, clicks and groups.As I write this review we are in the middle of a quarantine for an international pandemic. Our routines are disrupted. Our hearts are heavy. So much uncertainty. These coaches have jumped, climbed, and continue to rise to the occasion to push us all as members, and openly welcome the public to stay with routine and challenge ourselves along with them, to remain positive, be creative, move with intention etc... so we will be more than ready to walk through their front doors once again.

My expectations were definitely exceeded! What a great place to workout - its a supportive community with coaches who really know what theyre doing & make a point to reach out & be available to support you with advice on other things like nutrition too. And for some reason I really love that they play uncensored music, but theyre awesome besides that. :)

The gym has an amazing atmosphere, very welcoming no matter what your level, and I love the community and family feel. Having such a positive group and atmosphere helps to keep you on track with your fitness!

It seems like everyone has tried a gym or a fitness program at some point in their life so most people know what it feels like to go to a gym and workout. For me it felt like I was working out by myself, floating from machine to machine, listening to music on my headphones, and staring at the picture of some super fit chick sweating over a set of weights trying to tap into the motivation it was supposed to convey so I could talk myself into one more rep. At Grit City, motivation is not something youll find hanging on the wall. Its something youll find in the community of people that surround you as we all work together towards a common goal. Its little kids running around the gym to remind you that what you are doing will impact more than just your physical health. Its the high fives that you get at the end of every single workout. Its in the same question that the coaches ask almost everyday...See you tomorrow?At a minimum, Grit City is the most fun and challenging workout around, so if thats all you are looking for, then you found the right place. But if you are looking for motivation, inspiration, accountability, community, support, and growth beyond just your physical self, then you really have no other option because you wont find what Grit City has to offer in any other gym.

I am absolutely in love with GRIT CITY!! From members to the trainers, everyone is like family. All ways motivated and push each other to do better. I started my first round of SuperHero five weeks ago, and was able to complete a 3RM of my test weight 215 (1RM) of the deadlift during my Army ACFT test earlier this week!!!! I can’t wait to test my 1RM at the end of this SuperHero Session in a few weeks. Thanks Grit City family for the continuous support in motivation to exceed my goals! #MySecondFamilyForEver

Positive atmosphere. No boring repetitive workouts, they change it up every day. Man...have I got a long ways to go. See you there! By the way, they moved to a larger facility at 309 Puyallup Ave. (the old Tacoma Bike location.)
