Joe was fantastic when he came out to do our annual furnace check up. Walked me thru what he was doing and was a fun guy to talk with! Really knew his stuff and they were here right on time. Will for sure use again.

Ive used Schwantes for many years; Theyve serviced, installed, and maintained my heating (furnace) and air (air conditioning) units. They are easy to schedule, always on time to start the work, efficient, accurate, and clean up afterwards as if they were never there. Joe has done our yearly maintenance visits most years and it is great to see his smiling face and great laugh each time.

These guys are the best! We have a rather unique split, through the wall, air conditioning system. This requires ordering special parts, with long delivery time. Dave kept us informed on status and explained the situation.Once delivery came, we immediately were notified and scheduled for the next day.The technicians, Brian and Pat were very professional and courteous. First thing they did after introducing themselves was to cover the area with tarps and wore shoe coverings until that was completed.They worked diligently, really knew their stuff and answered all our questions.Highly recommended.

My air went out this past Saturday. It was 97 degrees outside and 90 degrees in my house. I was about in tears as it was absolutely unbearable in the top level of my townhouse. Tim was very responsive and helpful. Pat is the gentleman that installed the unit the following day on Sunday. We originally called the company that installed our furnace for an air conditioning repair only to find that Hero Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning took over the business. Hero came out first and said the circuit board would need to be replaced for $2000 with no guarantee that it would be compatible with the motor module which if it wasnt would cost another $2000. The suggestion was made to simply replace the unit. We called Schwantes for a second opinion and the technician found that some wires had been chewed through. The cost of the repair was $171. Compared to Hero, they were thorough enough to accurately diagnose the problem and fix it for far less. The technician even stated that the circuit board in question would only have cost $800 purchased through Schwantes.

Chris was a pleasure to have do the work we needed. Here in time window promised, diagnosed issue quickly and fixed, explained the work he did upon completion well. Nice job!

Schwantes is the most professional, dependable Heating and AC repair company I have ever dealt with. Our furnace blower went out on Wednesday, 6/2/21. With heat temperatures hitting close to 100 this weekend, Stacy and Carrie (office managers) were able to get Chris (technician) out here to service the issue. He ordered the part Wednesday and installed it yesterday, 6/4. We have air!!! I highly recommend Schwantes for their professionalism, customer service and competitive pricing. Answered phone immediately, scheduled AC repair assessment within 1 week. The showed up within the scheduled time frame and repaired the AC easily. (It was only blown fuses). There were other issues too but it didnt need to be repaired right then in order to work. $90 to assess, and repair cost very reasonable. Recommended.

The best of the best! Customer service was outstanding! We were in the middle of a heat wave and we were recommended to try Schwantes. Tim, my contact, came out right away and met me first thing the next day. He was response with my questions and was available both day and night with my questions considering we didnt have air in the middle of an unusually high 100 degree week. I talked with Dave the owner and he took time out of his day to help explain to me the function and design of my new unit during our heatwave concerns. I couldnt be happier using Schwantes and highly would recommend them. You will not be disappointed!

I highly recommend Schwantes Heating and Air Conditioning. I was very impressed with them, and in particular their technician, Chris Ball. He diagnosed my AC issue, showed me the defective part, and repaired it in 30 minutes. He also brought me outside to show me how to keep the unit free from dust, and debris that could cause problems, and reduce efficiency. I have had other service companies come out and try to sell me a new AC unit or furnace, but that did NOT happen with Schwantes or their very experienced technician, Chris. He deserves a bonus!

We have always trusted the services and technicians with Schwantes. Recently this year, and because my wife has extreme asthma, we had Schwantes instal and RemoHalo system on our furnace in March. Immediately not only did my wife’s health improve, our entire house smelt fresh. In June, my wife was not breathing or sleeping as well and our air seemed musty and stagnant. As my wife’s breathing became worse, I had Joe ( who is fantastic and helped us before) come look at the Halo system. Joe was upfront and noted the original young installer had incorrectly installed the system and because of it, the system had not worked in months. Joe corrected this and I expect my wife’s health to again improve. So if you want a company that fixes mistakes ( which has not occurred before)-Trust Schwantes ( especially Joe). Products can actually have affects on people’s health and the Remo system will now allow our house to be cleaner and healthier.

We only use Schwantes for our AC and furnace needs. Joe came over to look at our AC issue and didnt find a problem. He walked through his testing and showed us the results showing that everything was in working order. He then offered a timeline for getting our next matainence done. Schwantes installed both new 7 years ago and we have used them ever since.

Our air conditioner stopped running. I called Schwantes because I saw they had serviced our unit 3 years ago, just before we moved in. A control board was replaced at that time. When the technician arrived, he went straight to the control panel and told me it would need to be replaced. He said the item would cost $500-$1000 for the part. When he looked it up, he told me that part would cost $580. I refused the work. He also told me my furnace was near the end of its life, at 12 years old. A furnace should last much longer than 12 years. He told me 10-14 years is as long as a furnace can last.I looked up the control board online. OEM part, direct from the manufacturer, cost me $179. I replaced the control board myself, but the air conditioner still wouldnt work.Upon reviewing the compressor outside, which the technician from Schwantes never even looked at, I noticed the capacitor was damaged and needed to be replaced. I replaced the capacitor and the AC still did not turn on. Finally, I had someone else come out and he noticed there was no signal coming from the thermostat. I replaced the thermostat and the problem was resolved. This technician also told me the old control panel was in working order. It just needed a $2 fuse to be replaced.I would have a really hard time trusting Schwantes to perform any HVAC work for me or anyone I know after this experience. It seems to me the company is just out to get as much money out of people that they can.

Contacted Schwantes requesting central air conditioner repair after noticing fan wasn’t rotating when compressor engaged. They arranged for a tech to evaluate that same morning. The unit was repaired within three hours of my call. Very impressed with their courtesy, responsiveness and efficiency.

Hottest week of 2021 and my AC stopped working. Diagnosis was a leak, and a $2700 repair that I had to pay on full upfront, and would need to wait 4 weeks for the repair. I had a friend come over and they replaced a bad switch, not diagnosed by Schwantes, and add 1.5 pounds of R-22 to my 13 year old unit. Runs perfect now. I asked for my $90.00 diagnosis fee to be refunded, but was denied. I will not be calling again.7/24/2021 update - AC unit is running great. Always get a 2nd opinion as many of these outfits would rather replace than repair.

We hired Schwantes last fall to replace our furnace. Their bid was very competitive and their service was top-notch. When we accepted the bid, they were able to book us for replacement with very little delay. The installers were on-time, very courteous, and were careful to keep our home clean throughout the process. Once the new furnace was in, their installers took the time to make sure we knew how to maintain and operate our new furnace. They also made sure we took advantage of our utility company rebates and handled the permit process for us.This spring, our A/C unit failed. Schwantes was able to provide us with another competitive bid to replace that unit. They got us scheduled for the install in just a couple days and we were back in service! Again, the installers were on-time, courteous, and careful to keep our home clean. They also took appropriate safety precautions to protect our family and themselves from COVID-19 while they were in and out of our home.I cant recommend Schwantes strongly enough. They have been dependable, professional, and always do exactly what they say they will do -- all at a very competitive prices.

We had the technicians come out to repair our furnace that had stopped working. They were professional and took the time to explain what it wrong. We anticipated what was wrong and priced the part ourselves ahead of time and the price that the techs quoted to fix us was completely reasonable (only $100 more than we could get the part retail for). They did not pressure to repair or replace, and left the decision up to us. The sales person was low pressure and very educational. We were able to purchase the system that is best for our family. The company did all the permitting and rebates for us. The installers were courteous, put runners down on the floors, and professional. I called Schwantes at 8:20 AM and told them my furnace was out. I was told someone would be there between 9:00 and noon. Chris showed up promptly at 9:00 and our furnace was working. I recently had Xcel Energy out to install a new saver switch due to old age. When we went to turn on the AC, it wouldnt turn on. I thought that this was rather coincidental with Xcel just out and AC not working. Joe fro Schwantes opened up the compressor and found the Xcel tech had not connected a wire properly, which caused the AC unit to not turn on. Joe also checked the contactor and found it in need of service as well. He replaced this part, reconnected the wire and bingo bango the AC works. My wife who has been working from home was thrilled to have AC cooling her home office. I have used Schwantes before and will continue to do so.

The Schwantes team turned a stressful and potentially unsafe situation into an amazing, positive experience. My carbon monoxide detector alarms went off at 11:00 am on 1/18/21. I immediately called the Stillwater fire department for assistance. They confirmed that I had a significant problem and called Excel energy which deployed a technician who confirmed my furnace was the cause of the leak. I had to quickly find a heating company in the area who could help me determine the magnitude of my challenge. Within 20 minutes of my call, Mike Rumpf was at my door. He did a thorough inspection and found the challenges with my current furnace were not repairable. He called in a request for a sales consultant to come and give me an estimate and options for replacement. Tim Bachmeier arrived within the hour, discussed my options, gave me a quote and got back to me immediately with the incredible news that my new furnace would be delivered and installed later that afternoon. By 4:00 pm, Dylan and Rock were at my door to take care of the removal and replacement of the furnaces. By 6:10 pm, the job was complete and my home was returned to a safe heating system!!Everyone at Schwantes was professional, considerate, informed and skilled and all wore masks to keep our interactions safe. Kudos to Schwantes for instilling such a high level of customer service at every level of your company ensuring all my future heating and AC projects will be theirs!

I finally decided to get a Google account on 2/19/21 so that I can review this company. On 12/14/20, I had Schwantes restore the second stage on my TRANE furnace. They came out three days after I called about the problem and fixed it. I had noticed that the second stage on my Trane was not working. This occurred after a contractor from ACCAP had worked on my furnace. On 11/18/20 ACCAP approved me for a government program to super insulate and seal my home to reduce my heating cost. Now the problem may have been that before from work done several years before. However, when I call ACCAP’s contractor, not a TRANE dealer, about the problem they came out and looked at it and said it was working fine. So, I called around and was unable to get any kind of estimate to fix the problem. Time frames were anywhere from 2-3 weeks. Cost estimates, for those that would give one, were in the several hundred-dollar range. Then I called Schwantes! The lady who answered the phone was very polite and helpful. We had a pleasant conversation. She had been there 20 years. She setup an appointment for three days out. Joe came out and found several problems. The cost was $159.99, which included a $90 dollar trip charge for an hour and 15-minute job. Never have been as happy paying for something before. My furnace was now safe and working great.

Joe was great in servicing our furnace. After moving into this house we were unsure of the status of our old furnace. Joe performed the tests and maintainence, and was able to tell us what work had been done and its future life expectancy. He was friendly, helpful, and courteous. We will definitely get him back for all of our HVAC needs!

After hours help needed on Sunday. My sisters a/c went out. I took the cover off the condenser unit and found the capacitor to be bad.My sister called and got on the repair list. She called at about 9 am and your guy arrived just after 12 noon. That is fast and we appreciate that.After I diagnosed the issue, I started searching for the part. Not easy to find on a Sunday but eventually I found one from a heating/cooling company that would sell me just the part for $20. I was heading out the door when you called and said you would be there in 10 minutes. We decided to let you take care of it.It took 5 minutes to replace the capacitor and more than 5 minutes to write the bill. My sister lives in Stillwater, not far from your office.I understand the $180 weekend service call but to charge $260 for the part, come on. I know you need to make money but that’s a heck of a mark up.We won’t request your services again.I diagnosed the problem and had the part half removed for the guy.

We own an older home in Roseville, and when it was time to replace our older furnace and AC we asked Schwantes to take a look. We had some major comfort and air quality concerns too. Schwantes created a plan to correct these issues and improve our home. Its been a month since our new system was installed, and the difference is huge - we are comfortable and are breathing cleaner, healthier air. We first spoke with their answering service representative and were informed of the basic service/trip charge, which we appreciated the up-front transparency. We chose to proceed and were told the service technician would contact us within 15 minutes. Rockney was our assigned service tech and he reached out to us within the expected time frame. He told us that he anticipated arriving at our home within the hour. Rockney arrived on time and was quickly able to determine the cause of our problem, a clogged intake pipe (poor dead bird)! Afterwards, he very clearly explained the charges and ensured that all of our questions were answered before leaving. It was a pleasure having Rockney as our service tech! We have had great experience with Schwantes and in particular their technician, Joe. Last Winter he evaluated our furnace and got straight to the point with us. This was a relief after having another company come out a half-dozen times and still have no resolution. We ended up talking with Tim who was great at explaining our options and was able to get us a new furnace quickly! The technician that installed it was prompt and excelled at the job!We decided to have our AC tuned up before the summer and Joe was prompt, courteous, and helpful in explaining what he was doing and why. We have been so pleased with Joe and the Schwantes team! Its great to know a team of professionals is looking out for us homeowners!

Obviously, no one wants to hear on a Friday morning that their central A/C unit is non-functional just before one of the warmest weeks of the year…. but having a 23 year old unit (a long running Trane unit) ….it wasn’t a total surprise to us.We have been completely satisfied with the entire process since. Stacy handled all of our appointment scheduling and worked to make it fit within our availability. We had an appt with Scott on Monday to discuss our options and quote a replacement. He was professional and explained all the options, answered all our questions….and never seemed to be playing the “selling game”. We had our quote in hand…. less than 30 minutes from when he left. We were able to schedule the installation for the next day. I’m guessing not all scenarios can happen this quickly, but we were thankful it was. Dylan arrived early on Tuesday to do the install. He was on-time, friendly, professional….and did a great job! By Noon…we had a new unit installed and running.Hopefully we don’t need to replace an A/C unit for quite some time….but we’ll continue to trust Schwantes with all our Heating & A/C work.

This experience was A+++, I would HIGHLY recommend Schwantes. I called Xcel Homesmart and they sent a company out. Though nice, they tagged our furnace which was not operating and had unacceptable carbon monoxide levels. Still, to get the heat exchanger part, and install a new one, they said buy some space heaters as it could take Xcel TWO WEEKS to get it ordered and done.So, I called Dave at Schwantes (who did our Air years ago) and he said he could get the warrantied part (as there was an extention of warranty that he knew of) and Schwantes got the whole job done by noon the next day.The Schwantes price was better than Xcel. The phone receptionist, and then the Schwantes technicians, Joe and Rockney were on time, efficient, pleasant, polite, professional and even cleaned up. They explained what they were doing -and in a way I could understand the mechanics- this TEAM is EXEMPLARY. Im very particular and they not only passed my test- they broke the bar!!!Go with Schwantes!

We highly recommend this company! The crew who came to install our furnace and A/C were great! They knew what they were doing and were friendly and helpful! Hats off to Mike, Dillan,Brian,Pat and Joe! Each one of them did a great job! Scott was very helpful discussing what we needed and walking us through the system after installation.

We had a furnace and air conditioner installed and Tim and the installation crew - Rocky, Brian and Aaron were great to work with. We are very happy with the comfort of our home with a new efficient furnace. The installation crew worked quickly. We did have a little problem a couple days later - but I called the office and they had someone at our house within two hours - apparently a thermostat wire had gotten knocked loose - fixed in 5 minutes. I would highly recommend Schwantes Heating and Air Conditioning!

Our furnace, on Thanksgiving morning, stopped working. Thank Goodness Schwantes was working on Friday and offering regular rates for service. Joe was out promptly Friday and within seconds, diagnosed the issue and within minutes, replaced the part needed. Such a relief! My 86-year old mother lives with us and I was worried about her using a space heater while the furnace wasnt working. Joe is great and we enjoyed having him help us get back on track with the furnace!
