Today was my first time here w/no previous recommendation from anybody. I took the leap and I was not disappointed. My appointment was w/Jess and I can truly say she was very professional; she listened and made suggestions that worked perfectly.I got a full color, haircut and a deep conditioning. My hair was very patchy w/all kinds of shades of brown because I used to have it burgundy and then tried to transition back to my โnaturalโ color. Jess did a wonderful job in trying to blend the new brown and make it look even ๐ she stated that there were still some patches(again red is VERY hard to neutralize) but honestly I canโt even notice and my hair looks so good and healthy again.She cleaned up my hair by doing layers but kept my length just like I asked. And I canโt say enough for the deep conditioner treatment, my hair feels so smooth.Iโll definitely be going back. Thank you Jess for your amazing work.
On Saturday I had an appointment for a blowout at 9 AM before an event at 11 AM. I arrived right on time and I proceeded right away in the wash chair. I clearly let the stylist know that I did not want conditioner used in my hair because it would not hold a curl if conditioner was used and I asked for voluminous curls. I directed this to her before she started my wash at 9 AM. After she had already started washing my hair, she told me that she decided to put conditioner in my hair anyways and she had already done it before I could ask her to stop. It was already too late to change what had been done so I hoped for the best and proceeded into the chair for my blowout and style. Now, to put this in perspective, whenever I receive a blowout elsewhere, it typically takes no more than an hour for a wash/blow dry and style. She started my wash at 9 AM and at 10:15 AM the stylist was still blowing my hair dry. My hair was still damp at the roots when she began to start curling it. As expected, the curls would not hold because she had put conditioner in my hair after I asked her not to. She attempted to curl my piece of hair multiple times and it didnโt hold. At this point it was already 10:30 AM and I had to arrive to the venue to prep for my event at 11 AM so I asked her to please straighten the pieces that she attempted to curl and let me leave. I was extremely frustrated because I had been in the salon for an hour and a half and all the stylist did was wash and dry my hairโฆespecially because this is something I could do at my own home in 30 minutes. I proceeded to the checkout counter to express my frustrations and was still charged for a full blowout. I had no time to fix my hair before the event and it was left undone for a professionally photographed event. Also, it was still damp when I left and about an hour later once it fully dried, it was clear there was product left in my hair as became extremely greasy. The service I received was beyond subpar and I would not recommend this salon.
EDITED: since my last picture with final results was missing miraculously. I am posting it again. Also, during consultation she said cut will be included in the service, and there were no option to pay without tip. There were 3 options: 20%, 25% and not sure about the last one but it was the highest. Yes, I chose 20%. That should tell you how much I was satisfied with the treatment, but thats not the point. I went to see you, you provided the service that wasnt done properly. For your information, I did see a BB licensed /certified hairdresser and she is sure it wasnt done properly (less product was applied on the back).Jess Perez, the owner, ruined my hair!! She did a BB on Sept 22, guaranteed that the effect should last for at least 12 weeks, with a proper care. She suggested a BB products, but not necessarily, and no BB products included in $270! She said make sure its a sulfate free shampoo! Yes, I paid $270 after the tip, for a BB effect to be washed away after FIRST washing, without even shampoo!!! My hair never looked worse!! I explicitly asked for a heavier treatment (between keratin treatment and BB), since I wanted to change a hairstyle. She said BB would be an option to keep my hair straight, with more relaxed curls, but been able to get the effect with a flat ironing or blow drying. But she never mentioned I will end up with a TWO DIFFERENT hair textures!!! My natural hair is curly, ONE texture and I ended up with something on the last picture!!! And she didnt even apologize!! She said since it was my fault using a wrong product (I didnt even use a shampoo) she will redo it in a couple of weeks, since it was a harsh process and is not recommended to do it twice even in a 3 months! Yes, it was a harsh process for me, going through the same 4-hr torturing, having the same reactions (watery eyes, runny nose, headache-had to step out to the bathroom to rinse my eyes, since the product got into my eyes, and NO fan circulating ), for the same effect after only first washing, since she said she will do the same process. NO THANK YOU!!! I asked for a partial refund, but she was strict on NO REFUND POLICY!! And here I am, with the worst hairstyle in my life, after paying $270 and there is NO even a word saying I am sorry youre hair is this way, something got wrong!! Not to mention her costumer service, there is no privacy for costumers. She will exposed you and will call you out to explain yourself on a social media, sharing personal information from a consultation!!! Sort of a people I would avoid at any cost!! Just stay away!!!
I went here for the first time ever today. I went in to get my hair done and since I already had highlights I was looking for something lighter than what I had. Jess put bleach all over my roots and my scalp, this is the first time any stylist had ever put bleach directly on my scalp and as a result my scalp has been burned. I scheduled an appointment with her on Wednesday so she can fix her mistake and I am having second thoughts on going again because I do not want to have any more damage done to my hair.

Jess has been cutting (trimming) and coloring my hair for several plus years. Im a very picky person in general but even more so with my hair. She listens and takes the time you need for your hair to turn out as requested. Annie also works there as well and she is just as amazing as Jess. I highly recommend both!
Ive been going to Salon Blu for about 6 to 7 months now and I am a very happy customer. The atmosphere is friendly, and the shop is very clean. I go there mostly because my hairdresser, Josie, does a fantastic job. Josie knows how to cut my hair perfectly too. I tend to like the razor cut, instead of shears, and shes awesome at it. I always tell her it feels like a mini-head massage when she does this. Ive currently started hi-lighting my hair, and well, what can I say, Josie DID NOT disappoint! Josie is good at her craft, you should give her a try. What I love about Josie is that she goes out of her way to be there for you. Shes waited for me because I was stuck in traffic, and it was well past closing time.
Jess is the new owner and did a great job understanding what and how I wanted my hair. Love the new color and the time she spent with me.
Very friendly salon. Highly recommend Jess. She is a color guru. Love my hair eveytime she does it and I drive 50 miles each way just to get to her.

Haircut was mediocre, color was not what I requested, hair dresser was in a rush to leave. Had the worst experience using Groupon with them. Long story short I will never be going back and neither should you! Beware they have no regards for personal information or privacy, money hungry and just straight up rude!
Jess fixed my hair several years ago. I wouldnโt go anywhere else. She listens to everything I ask. Same with my 16 year old whom is very picky.!!

Got a new wonderful place for shellac gel mani/pedi Salon Blu. on the southbound 45 feeder just past Dawson Lock. Owner Marquette has been doing my hair for 10 years... but now she has partnered with Lisa for nails. Instead of the frenzied smelly nail shop experience, i was treated to a relaxed personal service, in their adorable salon (which looks like something youd find in old town spring - see their FB page), and at a significant discount. She has a $25 pedi special right now. Happy Happy!
