Ive been going here for about 2 years, and its the best haircut I have been able to find in the Somerville area. Always careful and attentive, and prices are extremely reasonable. Since covid, its just you and one barber in the room, both masked, which feels as safe as it can get for a haircut.They have a book-ahead service link on their facebook page.

Ive been to Fosters for every haircut since my first time, a few months after they opened. Phil and Bob both give a fantastic haircut every time, and theyre fun to chat with while theyre doing it. They genuinely care about making you happy and doing a great job. They keep the shop clean and neat so its a nice place to hang out, even if you have a bit of a wait. On top of all of this, Fosters has the best prices of any place Ive been around Davis, so youre also getting a great deal. I really wont go anywhere else for my haircuts, and neither should you.

About as much attention to detail as youd expect from a bargain shop but with the added detriment that1. The barber hits you, Ive never had such a rough haircut in my life. My neck is actually sore now from this guy bashing the clippers into my head and slipping with the comb.2. Its $21 and you dont even get a punch card. If Im gonna look like I got my haircut by a student Id at least like to get every 10th free.

Ive been here twice so far and will definitely be coming back again and again. I used to go to a more expensive barber on highland Ave but these guys went through barber school with those guys, give just as good cuts, and charge 2/3 the price.Phil did a great job, remembered me and my cut. Hes a good dude and strikes a good balance between good conversation and not talking too much.Go here if you are nearby.

I rarely rate a place of business I visit, which should say something about this place. I wish I could give this place 10 stars to be honest. Bob is a phenomenal barber! Coming from Texas, where it costs $35 for a proper haircut, Bobs haircuts are a steal. He has a prime spot right next to the T station, and it was easy to find.The only thing that I guess anyone could complain about is the wait - however it is only because he does a spectacular job taking his time with each haircut. Out of the barbers I have been to in the area, he is the best!

Been seeing Phil for a long time now, Ive never once regretted a cut. Prices are cheaper than anywhere else in the area, but they could honestly be higher and Id still get my hair cut at Fosters because of both Phils quality and the relaxed shop environment. Getting my hair cut always feels like just a meetup with old friends.

I went in there about a month ago, there was a guy cutting in the chair closest to the door who was friendly and did a good job.When I went back yesterday this was not my experience.There was a different guy cutting in the middle chair, he seemed grumpy the entire time, looked angry just to be there. On top of that, no one has ever hacked the top of my head up so bad, it’s terrible. He was alright with the clippers, but horrendous with scissors. I told him to just even out the top, he hacked one side all the way off and left the other long. When he started to take the cape off I couldn’t believe he was done, I asked “can you even that out a bit?” He goes “ok” and keeps hacking at the side that was already super short. I said “no no, the other side” and he started working on the back of my head. I couldn’t wait to get out of the chair before he messed it up any worse.Then at the end, he charged me $30, the last guy did a better job and charged $25. Are these guys just making up their own prices? Or (more likely) this dude is just overcharging and pocketing the extra cash, super easy to do since it’s cash only and he was the only one in there. For some reason I tipped him, I have no idea why.I’m never going back.

Best haircut Ive ever had! Parking was tough, but the second time I went I just stopped at the Davis Station on my commute home from work. The station is just across the street. Bob, the owner, is a comedian and very funny. Highly recommend!

This is a great hair cut place. Ive gotten my hair cut at various barbershops and were never really satisfied until I walked into Fosters. Great place, good atmosphere, and great cuts for reasonable prices.

Unreliable business !!!I made an online appointment and received a confirmation text. When I showed up on my appointment, the shop wasnt even open and no one was around. It seems like my appointment was cancelled without any notification.

Best haircut Ive had since being in the Northeast. Bob and Phil are the only guys I let touch my hair. Both are personable and professional guys.

Been going to Bobby for years, back to when he was still at La Flammes in Lexington. Hes the best barber Ive been to in the Boston area, and is a very professional, honest guy whos really easy to get along with too. Would recommend to anyone.

Needed an emergency haircut. Got there 5 min after closing owner opened the door and gave me a fine haircut at a great price. No schtick. No gimmicks. Just a solid haircut at a fair price. Absolutely recommend.
