Good people and helpful. They have helmets available to test ride the bikes. I would’ve hoped for a little more custom service and tips for my new bike. For example, the seat length was adjusted very poorly - not at all for my height. Also strong attempts for upselling all kinds of accessories. At the end of the day they have good bikes and they are knowledgeable so I would recommend this place.

I liked the selection, the convenience of the location and the fact that they had the bike I was interested in, in stock.. but I especially loved the friendly customer support, Bob, a sales associate, was very helpful and informative... he answered lots of questions and helped research what bike would best fit my 8 year old.. with the 1 month check in, the 1 year check up and the trade in program, I feel the team is working really hard to provide and maintain a great customer experience and lasting relationship..

Another awesome experience with the Trek Solana Beach team, following a similar experience in San Marcos. I had been struggling to get accessory info following my purchase of an Trek Allant+ 8S e-bike, so I figured I would ride down to the Solana Beach store. Thankfully there were two racks to secure my bike outside the store. I was helped by Bob, another rep and Jason (technician), who were all super knowledgeable. After a lot of research and elaboration, I purchased a Bontrager pannier bag to fit on my bike and a Commuter Fluid saddle. Throughout my experience the team was pleasant and engaged, including being personally fitted for my saddle. Again I wish I lived closer to the Trek San Diego locations, but if I did I would have a lot less money in my wallet ;)

I stopped in to buy a tire while vacationing from Northern California, and managed to pinch the tube when replacing the tire. Mark not only replaced the tube, but also changed the tube and tire on the bike..... all as a courtesy. Absolutely fantastic customer service. Can’t speak too highly of Mark and the store. Super friendly and welcoming . As someone who enjoys cycling but isn’t an expert, sometimes the bike shops make for an intimidating environment. It wasn’t the case with Trek. I was in and out in 20-30 minutes with two new tires, tubes and chain.Granted, it felt a little like when I bring my car in and they tell you all the things you need to do and buy but it seemed reasonable and I hadn’t serviced my bike in some time. I’ll be going back for my bicycle needs.

The new bike however fell apart on the first ride and Trek did little to compensate for the defective products. This store staff is fine but buyer beware with Trek products - once youre out the door youre pretty much on your own.

I was looking for a Rail 5 in the LA area and not one store had any inventory Hesitantly I called the store in Solana Beach (San Diego) and Jake answered the phone and said he had one and would hold it for me. I then drove down there and was assisted by Robyn. She was so helpful and acted like a consultant not a retail sails clerk. I know because I own my own consumer products rep group in the Pet Store industry. I would have much rather have gone to your Corp store in Santa Clarita but that store only has bikes that are the same price as some inexpensive cars. Of course the Rail 5 aint cheap either. Anyway Robyn explained that I can get service at any Corp Trek store. Bottom line i would drive back there if i had to do it all over again. Robyn and Jake are passionate about what they do, come across with a consultative approach, know the product line and have a great sense of humor. Picture this...I am strolling into a bike store for the first time in over three years. I ride as a hobby, not a Tour de France contender. I was looking for a new liner shorts for myself. Unfortunately, they did not have what I needed in stock, yet the salesperson was SUPER helpful, still providing me expert advice on Manufacturer, type and material to get, as well as suggesting a place on line to order from. Overall outstanding service and support. I also had the priviledge of observing the staff manage a highly irate customer who was itching for a fight. They did an excellent job of defusing the situation, the guy was still irate and loud - but his issue was expeditiously addressed. Great emotional intelligence on the part of the staff and their team. Highly recommend this place for hobbyists, weekend warriors, and the Tour de France contenders. Cheers!

I fell and messed up my derailer. I knew with Covid-19 the bike shops are busy and had already stopped by one that couldnt help right alway.I called and talked to Bob who told me to come by and theyd see what they can do. Jason was great. He got everything working smoothly while I waited. I want to learn how to fix more things on my bike so he let me watch and explained what he was doing. Duane, Vince, Ryan, a young lady (always fun to talk too) and the rest of the team (Guy w/ stylish mustache) and mechanics (Sorry Im very bad with names at first) go out of their way to help, greet, or start a conversation with you about your bike, riding experience, and help out even when the brand isnt Trek. My wife and I were recently involved in a hit and run and they saw both our bikes and fixed the front left shifters due to the impact of the vehicle love tapping our left side(s). Our bikes didnt fall or become damaged in the process. They turned out fine! Duane also helped fitting me into some new road bike shoes which Im stoked about, went into detail about the type of shoe, fitting, and cleat detail; teaching me how to clip in and out properly, and putting on some grip tape on my wives road bike due to the previous tape coming off and a Gatorskin for her rear end wheel due to too many thorns and punctures with the stock wheels it came with. Also helped my wife get properly fitted on her road bike and prepared her for her next road bike fit. This is why I continue to return and purchase to support your local Trek team in Solana due to the meticulous detail, questions, and concern they put into our lives. Last month I had my Faraday electric bike serviced by Jason at the Trek Superstore in Solana Beach. Faradays are beautiful looking and beautiful riding bikes (as if you are riding with a perpetual tailwind). Faradays are also a bit temperamental and have unique shifters, batteries and the like, requiring a knowledgeable bike mechanic to understand and service them. I could not be happier with the service I got from Jason and his crew at Trek. The bike is back on the road riding and looking good, and Jason gave me a few nuggets of wisdom for how to keep the bike on the road for a long time. Go see these folks, youll be happy you did. Bob

We had an excellent experience at Moment Bicycles and Ive purchased bikes from Black Mountain Bicycles and Bike Bling and would recommend ANY of these other retailers over Trek.Went to buy an e-bike for my wife and was confronted by condescending and unhelpful questions (presumed sales associate: have you even researched e-bikes?me: yesassoc: which one do you want?me: well, thats why were coming to the store.assoc: what kind of riding will you do?me: mostly road...assoc: well no trails or anything?me: no, thats why I said roadassoc: well let me see if we have anything small enough...brings some bike and explains that this isnt the bike were looking for). I understand covid has made customer service a bit harder, but this was inexcusable. Not only will I not return to this store, I doubt Ill buy anything from trek in the future because of this experience. Trek: Please train any customer facing employees to interact with people coming to spend THOUSANDS of dollars in a way that promotes a sale.

The Trek Superstore in Solana Beach is the best bike shop for all of your cycling needs, whether you are a casual or serious cyclist. The inventory is extensive and the customer service is outstanding. As a customer, you really feel welcomed into their store. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. The best thing about this bike shop, in my opinion, is the super repair service which is fast and reliable. Their knowledgeable mechanics have repaired several of my vintage 1980s time trial bikes from France, Italy and England into smooth running machines. They really went the extra mile to locate all of the components, all needing different sizes and threads, etc. They have also done a great job of keeping my modern racing bikes in great working order. It is easily worth the effort to drive the extra miles visit this truly Super Store, whether to buy a new bike or to get your bike repaired. I highly recommend this outstanding shop to anyone who is interested in cycling.

Robyn made me feel like I wasnt wanted in the shop. We were grilled upon trying to enter even though we both were wearing PPE. She didnt offer to help find anything and badmouthed customers the whole time I shopped. Selection was okay. The Trek in La Mesa has lovely employees that make you feel like family. Maybe its because this Trek is in a wealthy part of town. Either way I will never be coming back.

These folks are amazing here in every way. My husband is a seasoned cyclist. I am a casual rider. The staff here was helpful and accommodating to us both. Cheerful and competent all around. We’ll always come back here when we’re in town for rentals, purchases, and advice.

They didnt deliver the bike for my daughters birthday on time. They tried to fix the mistake, though. So I am changing my rating from 1star because of their willingness to accommodate us after all.Original review: I bought a bike for my girls birthday on Tuesday after confirming with them that they have the bike in stock and they assured me they will keep it for me! They said it will be ready for pick up on Thursday. I went on Friday morning to pick it up and they had sold it to someone else! Eventually, they texted me at 2:40pm that they got the bike - I went at 4:14pm and there was a guy outside giving a bike to another customer. I asked to pick up the bike and he said that they closed 4mins ago and that I have to come back on Sunday. Sunday is my daughters birthday!!! They are open for 5hours a day!!!!!!?!?!? From 11:00am to 4:00pm.

I like the people at the store. It’s a time that being a retailer is tough but to block your businesses front door with a table.Everybody’s used to wearing a mask when you enter a business. This table has been there since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic.You cannot enter the business and you are lectured as soon as you show up even though you’re already wearing a mask.You cannot call for help and you can’t enter. They are alsoclosed three days a week. The hours are a bit odd 11 to 4.Come on guys. Reevaluate.

I drove to this location because they had the quickest turnaround time estimate of theyre four locations in SD, ten days. I took my Schwinn MTB and a Rockshox 30 Gold air fork for them to install. Both the bike and the fork had a tapered head tube and steerer and since I had done my research well, I knew that both were in fact compatible. I drove all the way up from South Bay to this location, waited in line and someone took my bike. I was called soon after and was told that my bike and fork were NOT compatible and that they couldnt install my fork. I had to return all the way up there the next day to pick up the bike and fork, hoping that maybe the tech had made a mistake but the guy who answered my questions said that since it was a Schwinn, that they didnt know what standard they used for their tapered head tubes. From that I read a certain cork-sniffing we dont know Schwinn bikes, we only know, you know, real MTBs and he suggested that I buy a straight tube fork and bring it back. I was never going to go back there simply because I knew the guy was wrong. I instead took my bike and fork to a mom-and pop bike shop in South Bay where the tech immediately asked two vital questions: is the head tube on your bike tapered? and is the steerer tapered? . Yes to both and he said after glancing at both, sure we can do it, well just need a bottom head set . a day later, Bobs-your-uncle he had my bike ready with the new fork installed for less money than what Trek was quoting me. I understand Trek is a recognized brand and that they do a lot of business and Ive been treated from well to so-so at theyre South bay store. The cycling community can be cork-sniffy but its a business and a business is in business to find customers and keep customers. Theyve lost one which Im sure during these times of high demand for MTBs and service is nothing to them but believe me, things turn on a dime in these uncertain times. They should be wise and not make the mistake of assuming that these FAT times will last forever for them. Businesses are closing every day.

FRIENDLY SERVICE ! I stopped by here today looking for a couple of pairs of quarter socks with cool motifs. They did have a good selection of socks but very few in the shorter height I was looking for. Brian the manager was lots of help and offered to order in what I wanted. I will come back for a helmet one day.

I went to this location with an idea of what I wanted in mind and no previous experience with road bikes. Verne eagerly showed me different entry level models, fitted me to my selection, and walked me through selecting the appropriate gear to get started. I never once felt intimidated or over my head and now I’m happily riding around on my new bike. I would highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a new bike, as the staff is both friendly and knowledgeable.

Gotta give these guys a 10! We flew in from Chicago and I screwed up the assembly of my wife’s Madone. We brought it here and they took the bike from her like she was a formula 1 driver. They threw it in the stand and went to work immediately. Bike was fixed in less than an hour from when we brought it in. It was so nice of them to work on it so quickly. Thank you!!!

Ive got a fantastic Trek Madone that Ive loved for several years now. All my bontrager accesories have been great, I especially like my lights. The service department is fantastic. If you have a Trek bicycle and you want service, this store is the best. They have great mechanics and customer service, and they are underutilized, which means FAST turn around time. Please understand that Solana Beach Trek is part of Superstore Trek, which means they have access to more bikes/discount bikes/project one bikes than anyone, at the best prices in the nation. I know, because I have shopped them every time I buy a bike. This place is about value, and quality. I am picking my steed up today for its one year go-through, ( 48 hour turn around) and I am sure it will be perfect. Just do it!

Trek Solana Beach has been my preferred bike shop since 2014 due to their superior customer service and quality products. Even though I live in Los Angeles, I schedule my visits to Trek with my occasional trips to San Diego. Over the past 5 years, I purchased a road bike, MTB, and numerous accessories. No matter who happens to be in the store, or how large/small my purchase is, I am always treated like a VIP. On my last visit, Evan was very helpful and patient as we calculated the correct dropper post for my MTB; all I had was pictures and the seat post so it took a little more effort to determine what I needed. I went to one of the maintenance classes and learned a lot. I also realized I needed to have my bicycle serviced. I thought a certain service was included on one of the bike maintenance packages but this was my misunderstanding.
