Awesome bike shop. Bought 2 ebikes from them no problems. Compared to Charlie’s Electric Bikes this place is amazing. Charlie’s has no care for there customers and the bikes break down on me when i bought a bike from them the motor broke down the second day we had it 🤣 Definitely come to San Diego Electric Bike shop where they have everything you would need for your bike to get fixed or to buy a ebike. 5 Stars !! Would do 10 Stars if it was possible

First time renting/riding an electric bike. What fun! Kelly (007) was very helpful and friendly getting our bikes reserved and issued to us. We really enjoyed our conversation with him. We were a group of 5 and the bikes all worked great. We went over our time slightly and I dont believe we were charged - which was really awesome. Would definitely rent again from San Diego Electric Bike.

We rented four electric bikes while on an annual girls trip. The SD bike rental was fabulous. The customer service rep was very efficient and friendly with our reservation. Sensing that we hadn’t ridden bikes in a long while, he patiently went over the operation of the bikes, adjusted our seats and helped to match us with the correct helmets so we wouldn’t kill ourselves. We had the most wonderful experience riding on the bike path along the beach. We highly recommend SD Electric Bikes and will come here again when we come back to San Diego.

FANTASTIC SERVICE ! My wife and I ride road bikes but we are not getting any younger so we have been entertaining the possibility of switching to electric bikes. Today we called into this electric bike store near home to ask a few questions and get an idea if thats what we want.A store employee named Josh assisted us very courteously soon after we walked inside the display room. Josh explained many things we did not know about electric bikes and offered us trial rides on a couple of models priced up to $3500. The models we preferred were Yamaha Crosscore models priced around $2400. We each went for a ride and thought the bikes were great for what we need.....a bit of help up nasty hills like the one near home. We were very impressed and if we decide to buy then it will be from this store.

We rented ebikes for a few hours to ride up to coast. It was a fantastic experience. The guy with glasses was amazing. He was extremely helpful and knowledgable with all the ebike rental options, and walked us through the entire process. Would most definitely rent from here again. We will be back soon👍

Unless you have $5,000 dripping out of your pockets, they’re not interested. They’re very dismissive unless you seem ready to buy. They don’t have time for anyone interested in educating themselves before laying down $3,000 to $5,000. I guess business is good, and there is no reason to work on customer service. I asked them about Rad Bikes; and he quickly walked away saying they always break down-IDK about 5,000 reviews at 4.9 stars doesn’t agree. And all my neighbors that love they’re Rad Bikes.... But I guess it’s not a good business model to try to compete with an incredible $1,500 e-bike from Rad Bikes, that everyone loves, when you can get $5,000 from people who have plenty of money to spare. I got a $3,700 Pedego for my wife and she loves it!!! But they have great customer service so I didn’t mind paying more.

This place is awesome and I cant say enough. I bought my first electric bike here after loads of on and offline shopping and not only got the best deal here, but the staff is truly great. They did all the add-on work i wanted for free, gave great advice, and I now feel that any online deal would have come with a much lesser experience (and a lot of extra hassle for me). Im trying to convince my wife to get an ebike too so we can have fun exploring with great range. Thanks you guys!

$20/hour Ebike rental and great service! They had about 6 bikes with different options for rent on a Friday afternoon. Lots of fun biking down hwy 101 as there is a dedicated bike lane and the ebike made it super easy. Definitely considering purchasing one now.

They repaired my electric bike for a very fair price when others couldnt. They even did it the same day we brought it in. Knowledgeable and honest without any pressure. Highly recommend.

My wife and I met bought two electric bikes from SDEB. Cory helped us and I can not say enough good things about the store and Cory. Cory was very patient with us and made sure we selected an appropriate bike. He explained the pros and cons of the different styles and models. In the end we selected two Magnum bikes, a Cruiser and a Metro. We could not be happier with our experience at Sand Diego Electric Bike, Cory or the bikes we purchased. I give them five stars.

Fantastic repair shop! I replaced the broken headlight to my old EZee bike with a stock headlight (included LED) for $10 and Carlos in my office wired it for me. SD Bikes had the spare parts. If you ever need e-Bike parts, bikes, or repairs, the best place ever is San Diego Electric Bike shop on Hwy 101 in Solana Beach. They do amazing work. They tuned both my e-Bikes back around June and did a great job and the price was very modest. They also did a custom job on my lighting. I have been to numerous e-bike shops and this is now the only shop I will use.

Purchased a customized Phantom X2 last week here. Owner was very helpful, patient & knowledgable. Did not pressure me to buy any extras. After riding it a few days, the bearings of the right pedal blew out, but he replaced it with no hassle. Great selection and easy access location.

Spring Break was amazing!!!! My husband, myself and my 3 kids had so much fun riding San Diegos Electric Bikes. We rode up the coast to the bird sanctuary and made a couple of pit stops- taking in the breath taking sights along the beach. While riding, my husbands bike was running low on charge. I called the shop and the owner was extremely accomodating, he offered to come bring my husband a new bike. We ended up making it back to the shop despite his low battery and the owner discounted all of our rentals just for the little inconvenience of having to call. This is something everyone should try!!!! And I highly recommend this shop- there attention to detail and customer service really made our little get away all worth while!!! Thanks Electric Bike Company will be back this summer!!!

Less than professional!The website looks like they have a lot of stuff. However, they dont even know what is on their website.I had them convert the front wheel of a three wheel adult bike into an electric wheel. It was expensive and NOT professional finished. They charged for the time spent making the unprofessional system but a lot of the time was spent trying to find the parts.When I got the system home the first time and installed it, the wheel turned the wrong way. I had to call and they talked me through rewirering the connection so the wheel would turn the correct way.I ended up having to take the whole bike to have them rewire the battery.I would NOT recommend them. I should have bought the parts online. It would have been half the price and far less headaches.

There are few establishments that I wish I could sit at and warn customers to not do business with. This is one of them. When I originally got an ebike from these guys, Brian gave me a long speech about how I was in the family and I could use them for any support and maintenance. I had just moved here and was looking for a bike shop. Since then, they have nickle and dimed me on everything.One time, a product was incorrectly shipped to them because they had built my first bike and instead of taking 2 minutes to return to sender, I was told by Brian I dont have time for that. So instead I had to drive an hour and a half just to pick up a part and drop it off at USPS which took me about 3 minutes.Please, please, please dont bring your business here. The owner has no concept of customer service and is only a salesman. There are so many better E-bike places in the So-Cal area.

I purchased a Prodeco tech Phantom X3 from these guys about 6 weeks ago and I have to say it is the best bike I have ever owned. I typically only use the power on hills and often go on 25-40 mile rides without charging, not sure how far you can go as I have never run out of power when only used on hills, and we have a lot of steep hills in San Diego. The bike is heavy but well built only negative is the derailer could be better quality if you like pumping hard on hills you have to use the lowest three gears. It has ample power for even steep hills if you also pedal, it basically levels out the hills. I like the fact you can add just the amount of power you need. If you enjoy riding but are not in the best of shape this bike will let you keep up with all those ultra light very expensive road bikes and still get a great workout. I have over 500 miles on my bike and no problems. The guys at the shop are very helpful as well. I will probably buy a bike for my wife there too.

Took my bike there and the staff is trying to fix it. The bike works in the shop but does not work when I bring it home. They are re-running the diagnostics to see what can be wrong. The staff is trying to do all they can to find the issue.

I have 4 electric bikes and have been using these guys for about 2 years and they were awesome. Since they have grown a little they seemed to have forgotten what customer service is. Last week my home made trike was dead so I dropped it off. A few days later they called me and told me the controller needed replacing. A part that can be bought on eBay for around $35. They informed me that with diagnosis, parts and labor the fee would be $296 which seemed crazy high but I needed the bike running soon.When I picked it up the controller was physically smaller and they informed me that was the only kind they had, then I took it for a test ride and my smooth running trike ran like crap. Much less power and upon start up I needed to pedal it 1/4 turn to get it going (unlike before) or the wheel wouldnt turn and just jerked on the spot without moving forward. I immediately informed the manager of the store and he said well thats how it is now, just pedal it a little upon start up. Now this is a powerful heavy trike that is NOT meant to be pedaled so I was quite disappointed. Then I look on my handlebars and the display gauge is gone which showed battery power, speed and numerous other things. I look at the new throttle and there is no longer a key to keep my bike secure when parked. I again informed the manager about this and his answer was well we didnt promise you original parts I told him I didn’t really care about original parts but I did expect parts that did the same function as before and a controller with the same specifications not a smaller and weaker one. I loaded the trike and left. The next day I took the trike out of my van and no less than 200 yards later the trike goes totally dead.I called the store, the manager was not available but called me back and I explained my concern and situation. He had the audacity to tell me well it was working when you left here and that nobody in town did the kind of custom work they do and that they DO NOT warranty their work.I replied to him that when they called me with the estimate at least they could have given me the opportunity so say no and to pickup the bike before inuring all sorts of fees for parts that were not the same or similar specifications and labor that is not warrantied.I have since found multiple locations where small operations do this kind of custom so if I were you, I would steer clear of these guys and give your money to a shop that appreciates your money and business.

Called them up on the phone to get some info to bring my bike in for repair. The person answering the phone was rude and abrupt. Will look for someplace else for service.

These guys were great. They had a huge selection of bikes and were happy to answer any questions we had. They even let us swap out batteries in the middle of our very long bike ride. However, as great as the service was, the bikes definitely needed some work done on them. Despite the shape of the bikes, I would definitely recommend them and I would use them again, next time in San Diego.

Price ok! 2h 35D ... Bicycles were a marvel. We got a 20 km along the coast! Beautiful!
