Lived here for 10 months- recently moved out. Super sketchy block. Didn’t really feel safe at all times. (To be fair, the building has taken some steps- but still...) Many people experiencing homelessness around. Trash *constantly* strewn throughout the alley. Veeeerrrry old building. Heat barely worked- super cold in the winter. Pretty sure there were a couple of drug dealers in the building? Incompetent management.
Have been here a week now but my initial thoughts are mostly good.Pros:- Location is amazing. Super walkable, which was my most important priority.- The bathtub omg. So much room.- Walk-in closet.- Havent had any safety concerns so far.- Great windows - good size, so nice amount of natural light. Good ledges, so the cats are happy.- 1st month free rent special is excellent and a major help with what would usually be extensive moving costs. Personally, I like this a lot more than the places that are doing one month free but just reduce your monthly cost by a small amount to cover the one month rent over a 12-month period.- Honored my ESA no problem.- One of the few places that arent in some sort of violation with Seattle Rental Regulations.Major Cons:- My specific apartment was really dirty when I moved in. Not just hasnt been lived in for a bit so is dusty dirty but hasnt been cleaned in a long time and is gross dirty. Its obvious theres no cleaning service that comes in between tenants (or if there is, they arent any good), which would be concerning in normal times but is especially so in a pandemic.- Steam radiator. This might be fine but mine doesnt turn all the way off. The one knob doesnt close all the way and the other knob is broken. I called emergency maintenance about this one night because it was way too warm in my apartment and not being able to turn off something that is supposed to be able to be turned off was concerning enough that I thought it was warranted. They were supposedly going to send someone the next day but that hasnt happened, days later.- Bathroom doesnt have an exhaust fan. If I take a shower, and I have the door open, the steam (I guess?) from the shower sets the smoke alarm off thats above the front door. So I have to shower with the door closed (basically impossible with the cats), take a quick shower, or have to run out mid-shower and wave something around the alarm to get it to shut off.Minor Cons:- Hardwood floors, yes, but they havent been well cared for. Im getting rugs to cover most of it.- The kitchen is made for tall people. Im above-average height and literally cant reach the top shelf of the cabinets without a step stool, and the counter is super tall as well.- Old building so power is never ideal, I know, - but theres no outlet in the bathroom and the kitchen outlets are hidden by the fridge and on the opposite side of the counters, where they should be. No using them without running an extension cord.- Bathroom design. Door doesnt open all the way (or even to a 90 degree angle) because it hits the toilet. Is awkward going in and out, trying to squeeze between the door and the sink. A different toilet could easily fix this, or at least make it better.
Ive been living here for a couple of months, and so far my experience has been great. Ive had one or two maintenance needs and my requests were attended to asap. The location is central, but the building is totally secure, where I, as a single woman feel completely safe. I love it here and would absolutely recommend.
This building is absolutely not secure. Dont leave your stuff here. Its gonna get stolen. At least,, until Jamie campbell leaves . . . .stay vigilant tenants 😆
I moved in about a month ago I love the building! In love with the walk-through closet and I have a courtyard view which actually is really peaceful and pretty. I wish there was a place to keep my bike since I live on the third floor and theres no elevator and slight problem with the mail but all and all its a great place to live so far!
Cool little creepy
Class meets azz. VERY KLASSY❤️
Very secure gate. Lobby smelled good. But very old building, old appliances in the room.
We were lucky and ended up with a corner unit. 425 sq ft studio. Feels like the comfiest dorm room you’ve ever had. Phone app for washer/dryers instead of quarters which is awesome. Paying rent is easy and convenient through their site. Pretty normal neighbors. Packages/deliveries are stored in the foyer under video camera or in a lockbox. Rent is high in general but pretty reasonable for Seattle. Biggest drawback is all the sirens from a nearby fire station.
I’m giving 5 stars because we moved here from out of state, and Grant has been very helpful in this whole process - more so than any other apartments we’ve lived in before. Friendly service from office and maintenance. We didn’t even get to see this place in person before moving in, so you can imagine how stressful that can be getting everything setup from long distance, but Grant made sure we had a checklist so everything was ready for when we got here. It’s an older building but the location and access to everything is great - and has its charm. City noise can get loud with sirens but you get used to it or get earplugs. Getting packages is easy and you need a key to get into building, definitely feel safe here. If you want to be downtown this is a cool place to be, give it a chance - and the price ain’t bad either.
Ok
