Friendly staff, EXTREMELY clean facilities (and the staff is constantly cleaning), they give out locker lock/key making it convenient to store your belongings. They have everything you need, and plenty of space. I didn’t have to wait for any equipment, and went around 8:30am. Overall great experience and definitely recommend for any serious weight trainers.
Over the past 25 years, the hallowed spa-fitness hybrid has been replaced by corporate franchise gyms that reduce your identity to a bar code and subject you to crowds of people exercising on limited, basic, worn-out equipment. Not so with the Santa Fe Spa. A lone survivor of that bygone era, the Spa not only resisted this zeitgeist but managed to elevate itself to stand out as one of the Southwest’s very best gyms. Frequented by locals, tourists, and celebrities alike, all are on equal ground here and treated to superb customer service. It is run by knowledgeable fitness professionals - some of whom have been with the Spa since its inception - who greet you at the door by name and can answer any question related to their equipment, proper technique, and exercises. This gym is exceptionally equipped: it features two giant cable crossover assemblies, every type of resistance machine, including pneumatic and Nautilus, numerous cardio machines such as ellipticals, rowers, and treadmills, and the most complete array of free weight equipment I’ve ever seen - full sets each of barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, EZ bars, fixed weight bars, resistance bands, incline/decline/adjustable benches, a Glute-ham developer, the newest Hammer Strength plate-loaded glute drive and Ground-base Squat Lunge machines, a Smith machine, assisted pull-up and dip machines, a parallel bar/Roman chair, battle ropes, balance boards, ab roller wheels, Bosu balls, Rogue boxes, mats, accessories, and - best of all - enough giant Rogue squat racks that you never have to wait in line to use one like you do at all the other gyms. The gym’s staff set the Covid-19 example for sanitizing before the standards were even set. The locker rooms are spacious, immaculate, and have plenty of showers plus a full sauna. Classes in yoga, zumba, and other activities run daily. What I look forward to most when I come here (which is often) are the staff who treat me like family, the squat racks and new equipment, and the friendly community of members and personal trainers.Even though I’m a NM native, I never get tired of the views of the breathtaking Sangre de Cristos on the drive up to the Spa. Come here for a great workout session. Leave here with a fitter body than when you walked in plus memories of a special gym experience.
Great gym, clean, friendly staff, great variety of weight lifting and strength exercise equipment, clean showers and lockers. I have been a client for over 20 years, amazing place.
Hands down best gym in Santa Fe! The employees are great and always welcoming. 5 stars in my book!
The Spa is filled with wonderful people, and the facelift looks great 👏🏼
Great gym and they keep the equipment updated, also has Rough equipment
I am a member of the Santa fe Spa, outstanding and clean gym. Professional and courteous staff.
Amazing Gym and Awesome Staff!
My favorite gym by far!! The owner and staff are awesome! Its super clean and they make sure everyone has a mask on properly throughout there workout. They have some one walking around and sanitizeing every thing throughout the day. I feel more safe from covid here than when going in to whole foods.
The facility is great. The only thing is a staff member was rude to me and unwilling to admit his wrongdoing.
Our favorite gym in Santa Fe. Clean, well-organized space with well-maintained equipment. Service is great. Modifications to accommodate the pandemic are well thought out also. A great place to stay fit when you cant get outside!
Hitting the gym hard ! going to get it together for spring! Got to do the work to look this hot at 55 LOL !!! 4 +++ nobodys perfect, !
This is where we workout every time we come to Santa fe. Randy is the best and goes above and beyond Covid-19 cleaning procedures. It is a very safe place to exercise
The sf spa has taken extraordinary measures to protect gym users, spacing the equipment, getting rid of old equipment, providing cleaning procedures, etc. Masks required, but its worth it
In response to the current COVID emergency, Randy Montoya has made outstanding improvements to the gyms platform. The staff is working very hard to keep the members safe. Be responsible and wear your mask!
Great staff, feel very safe there.
What a wonderful gym! The staff is extremely friendly and the equipment is great. It’s so large and there is plenty of equipment which means no waiting around. The gym and locker rooms are also spotless! Well done Santa Fe Spa!!
My husband and I travel full time, so weve joined a lot of gyms for a short time. Santa Fe Spa is our favorite so far. Its so easy to sign up online, with no sketchy membership plans or fees, and the staff is super welcoming and takes the time to learn everyones names. The amenities (sauna, steam room, 3D body scan) are great, and theres plenty of equipment. Even during peak hours, it was easy to get the machines we needed. Well miss this place a lot!
The Santa Fe Spa gym is among the best -- Ive worked out and taken classes at gyms from New York City to San Francisco. I was immediately met with pleasant, professional desk staff and offered an equipment orientation. I was impressed with the friendly, clean environment with people of all ages. The facility feels fun & upbeat, the staff responsible & professional. Their trainers are top of the line. The gym is spotless and the womens locker room is spacious and has a wonderful steam room.
Best gym in Santa Fe! This place is great because the equipment is is in good condition and the people (staff and customers) are friendly and encouraging. I got a two-week membership and I don’t want to leave!
Great equipment, friendly staff and very clean.
I have been coming to this gym for at least five years. I live in Missouri and have found a second home here at this spa. Randy and all of the front desk staff are very helpful but most importantly treat everyone like family. All of the ancillary staff are also very professional.I would highly recommend this gym to anyone who lives here or just visiting.
While on vacation in Santa Fe in September, I signed up for a three-week membership at $65, which I thought was fair. I was amazed at the size of the place--more than 50 aerobic machines and more than 60 weight machines such as Nautilus. Lots of people there, but it never felt crowded. Staff were friendly and helpful. If I lived in SF, Id join, and if I go back for an extended stay, Ill sign up again. Completely pleased.
Great gym. All my interactions with the staff and other members have been nothing but positive. Members from diverse demographics (age, background, occupation) with varying levels of commitment to fitness. The facility itself is roomy and clean; the hours allow for flexible schedules. I recommend it to both Santa Fe residents and visitors.
All the equipment and machines you could need. Plenty of space for stretching towards the back. Not over crowded but enough people to make new friends. Helpful and friendly staff at a reasonable price. Not to mention classes, sauna, and steam room! My husband and I are RVers traveling across the usa so glad we stopped here for a work out and to rejuvenate.
Ive been working out at SF spa for the last 17 years . Since coming to gym the owner have continued to upgrade his facility ranging from the locker rooms to the workout room and to the aerobic room. I love to lift weights and the gym is a full fitness gym by far. I was happy to be one of his staff members/trainer for a number of years and was always treated with fairness and part of the family. The gym has a great staff who put great effort into remembering everyone name so the can feel happy to be in a place that promotes health. Just come on in and youll see for yourself that being healthy is not so bad, its actually fun.:))
Exellent establishment. Very clean and very friendly staff. Lots of equipment so there is not usually a wait for what you need. The steam room and sauna in the locker room is also awesome, plenty of space and clean.
Great gym. Great individual trainers and a community of extreme athletes to just your average person wanting to live healthy.
Nice selection of equipment and machines. Machines break occasionally, but no more frequently than other places. Big problem with this gym is the cleanliness. I have been a member for over 2 years and it ranges from dirty to filthy. There is grunge in the showers that dates back to the Bush era. Every piece of equipment has a pile of crud underneath it. It is as though they never clean it. The place needs to be closed for a couple of days and thoroughly steam-cleaned, or at least they need to hire a better cleaning staff and/or supervise them more closely. I have to shower here because I go straight to work after my workout, but wish that I didnt.
Santa Fe Spa is Best spa in Santa Fe!! The staff is extremely kind & professional. The trainers are on top of their game! The facility is clean, there is a variety of cardio machines you dont have to fight for, Hot and dry sauna, and a lot of weights. I give it five stars!!!
Fun place to exercise. Friendly staff and tons of equipment. Locker rooms were clean and the Zumba classes were fun. I’ve met many new friends which motivate me to keep on my program. I have lost 10 pounds and feel much better.
Best gym in Santa Fe
I only did a short term membership to try it out, but I loved that there was plenty of equipment for all and the sauna. The location was inconvenient for me, so I didn’t go long term.... but wish I could have
Friendly staff. Lots of treadmills. Locker room has European Steam room with cold shower. Great location near the downtown area. Im new to Santa Fe and Ive met some nice people at the Santa Fe Spa Health Club.
Fun place to visit. Lots of equipment. Friendly staff. Clean. No wait for any of the equipment. Plenty of parking with dry and wet steam saunas.
Excellent range of equipment, spacious and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
What a nice gym by that i mean its very clean nice people and u get good vibe just wish they would change the look of the gym looks so outdated even anytime gym looks better
Pricey but nice
Nice Staff
Smiling faces from staff upon arrival. Very worth 10$ a day, and thankfully that is an option. Over all clean and i always see someone wiping down equipment. Shower stalls are dark and ceiling fans hairy. Always love the steam room and sauna!! Always equipment to use, never a wait. Classes can be tight so get there early--although if your a regular I see others holding spots for their friends...not so nice for newbees. great location. wish they had a pool and a larger cardio room--only 1 punching bag and it seems sad next to a pole and cramped by the bikes. I say expand and this would be excellent!!
The best gym i have ever been to im from California its super clean and the staff or so friendly and nice definitely going to come back thank u so much
Excellent costumer service and great class offerings.
Dirty, not well-maintained equipment, not professional. I purchased a day pass while I was on a business trip in Santa Fe.. what a waste of ten dollars. The equipment was stained and gross, and there were no sanitary wipes to clean the machines with. The weights and free weights were unlabeled and unorganized. Things were scattered all over the floor. It was not my kind of gym.
Class ActLocally-owned family-operated Santa Fe Spa is a class act. Randy, John, Ian, and Jesus Lujan go out of their way to make every person who walks in the door feel welcome and comfortable. They remember your name. If you put a 5 in the vending machine to get some juice or water and get a bunch of quarters back they may offer to exchange them for dollar bills so you dont have to carry extra change in your pocket! Unbelievable. You dont find this level of consistently excellent service anywhere. The Spa gets it. They know that building positive relationships with people is more important than a short-term transaction mentality. This tone is set by manager Randy Montoya, a consummate professional. Most popular gym in Santa FeOne of the things I love most about the Spa is the extraordinary diversity here. This is not an exclusive gym, its a very inclusive gym indeed, one reason the Spa is the most popular gym in town. Here you get a cross-section of the entire Santa Fe population: rich, poor, young, old, black, white, hispanic, native American, gay, straight, etc., and everyone just gets along.Santa Fe StyleThis is not Boulder, Colorado. In the parking lot you may see a Ferrari and an old broken-down blue Subaru but inside you cant tell who the drivers may be: consistent with Santa Fe Style people here are not status-conscious. No fancy workout clothes here, thats not the Santa Fe way; most people simply wear shorts and t-shirts.Its a very laid-back, relaxed, genuinely friendly atmosphere. Youve got your social types who love to socialize as well as quiet types who just want to work out and everyone just gets along.Celebrities ChoicePerhaps thats why so many local celebrities work out here. On any given day you may see Gene Hackman, Christopher Lloyd, Lou Diamond Phillips, or Neal Patrick Harris working out right next to you.ConvenientThe Spa is open 361 days of the year, closing for only 4 major holidays. Theres nothing more frustrating than showing up at the gym for a great workout only to discover that its closed for some minor holiday. And they dont close in the middle of the day like some gyms do.Personal Training Center of Santa FeSanta Fe is blessed with an abundance of great trainers. Most of them train at Santa Fe Spa. Why? Because owner John Montoya wisely made the Spa an open platform for training rather than a closed shop. This is a huge asset to the membership. Many gyms have 3 or 4 trainers on staff, an entry-level position in our field, but the Spa is the only place in town that offers a selection of over 40 professional self-employed trainers working as independent contractors. Already have a trainer? No problem, they can train you here unlike closed shops where your choice is limited to a handful of staff trainers.Different strokes for City Different folksThere are many great gyms in Santa Fe. If youre an avid tennis player you may prefer El Gancho. If youre an Olympic-Style Weightlifter you may prefer Carl & Sandras Gym. If youre a hardcore bodybuilder you may prefer Mandrills Gym. If youre a fighter you may prefer Undisputed Fitness. If you like a women-only environment you may prefer Fitness Plus. These are all great gyms. But for all-around general fitness, especially if you work with or would like to work with a personal trainer, I highly recommend Santa Fe Spa, the friendliest gym in Santa Fe.Jeff NailenSanta Fe Way
Great staff, great gym.
Not part of the prime fitness program and overpriced if you want to join.
