Really good service. I work with special needs adults and a lot of our clients come here. The staff is accommodating and patient. It is cash only; however, there is an atm in the back.

Let me first start by saying that my review is long-overdue. I’ve been coming to see Tony / Burnet Ave Barber for what’s going on 10 years now! Nothing but respect for this amazing establishment. Always super clean, all barbers are talented & respectful and have never had an issue making an appointment, or just walking in and getting a cut. Very thankful for these guys & this barbershop!

Get a haircut with Edison or Tony. The rest just try to get you off the chair as fast as possible and leave your haircut half done. $30 dollars for a mid fade that looks like a mushroom cut.

I specifically asked the guy who sits at the left end corner not to give me a high and tight fade, and that’s the first thing he does. Maybe if they spent less time talking on the phone with their friends and actually paid attention to the customer, they’d cut hair how it was asked to be cut. I only recommend Anthony as he hasn’t done me wrong yet.UPDATE: Was asked to email them to further discuss the situation and I did. Ive yet to receive a response.

Great Shop. I found this place after my regular Barber had closed during covid and did not reopen. So far I have had my haircut by two different barbers and they were both very good and what they did very attentive and asked a lot of questions to make sure that you got exactly The cut you came for..I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a new Barber after everything that has happened..

*2yrs after my first review* Over 15 years taking my boys to the same barbershop. The location changed once and some of the faces have also changed over the years but one thing remains the same... The quality of the cut! Dont remember a single day that I didnt like the work they did. Our 2 oldest still go here (on their own) They dont need dad to take them anymore. I still have a couple more years with my youngest. Big thanks to tony and his crew for taking care of my boys

I had an appointment at 5 but waited till 6:10 so more than an hour, but the hair cut was dope, so I forgot about the wait, also they only accept cash which I didnt know, had to take money from the atm machine and pay fees, so it was a hassle, they need to add square or PayPal or even venmo because with corona, they are lucky i had a debit card not a credit card on me. Anyways I didnt know the guy who was cutting my hair but he was young and he did a great job.

With NJ opening barbershops, they fell under strict rules and regulations. Owner Tony from Burnet Ave Barbershop took every precaution and went above and beyond in his shop to make sure all of his clients and staff are safe and will remain safe. He updated his scheduling system to allow text messages when your appointment is ready which allows you to wait outside and social distance. Temperature checks and hand sanitizer upon entry. You can tell his entire staff was well trained to keep everyone safe. It felt like a family joint effort attitude to keep everyone safe!! While getting a haircut I noticed the staff took extra care of their clients especially when needed special care due to limitations. Overall this felt like the safest, cleanest business I have been in since the Pandemic. Well done Tony and his staff!!

Great group of guys always engaging and upbeat you feel like you are with family, prices are very fair as well. My go to stylist is Abraham Ive been going to him for about 3 years now and has never done me wrong, although I am optimistic that anyone there will hook you up right.

It’s crazy because I grew up watching the owner tony do his thing than for him to open up his own shop was cool. Leads by example. Tvs and music will leave you fully entertained along with the vending machine for snacks and beverages. I know he’s doing greatly with keeping up with a shop taking a lead on it especially with COVID-19. To all, you can’t go wrong. All quality barbers throughout. Huge shout out to one of the barbers mo.

Its very sporty and the manger or who ever is in charge have a system in place to keep the place clean and safe. All the barbers are hip and can cut hair very well no matter your hair type.

Abraham and the owner along with other staff are great and real good at what they do.

His brother introduced him to this spot and the 2 barbers that cuts his hair makes him look so finger licking good to my eyes and he told me the procedure and he as well had good things to say about the place but all I can say is yummy...

Dave gave me a terrible haircut . Was looking to establish relationship with a barber next to my job but I will definitely never come back. It’s a shame because the barbershop is nice overall . Left me spots everywhere . Fade looks like my little brother did it. And didn’t even use a blade. Have to get another haircut in a few days . $25 wasted .

Great haircuts and always great service up until my last visit. I had an appt and walked into a packed place and was told to wait. I was sort of in a rush for a meeting about a higher position at work but was fine coming back another time . I am the person that totally understands when a place gets busy but the problem came in when I was trying to book another appt and TONY kept telling me to chill. I wasn’t rushing or trying to be a bother, I just simply wanted to reschedule. But he kept on telling me to chill from across the shop and made me want to leave. I loved getting cuts there all of the time but that experience made me go elsewhere.

Took my daughter in to have the side of her head shaved. Super nice guys all around. We felt right at home, so much so that I may go back myself. Everyone who was in there left happy, the staff was great, and my daughter loved Tony! Highly recommend!

The barber I had was Will. First time coming here in a long time. He had poor customer service. He left my sideburn uneven, as in, I had about 2 inches of hair just strapped to my face. He gave me a strange look when I gave him the tip (maybe because he noticed he forgot to cut it, but said nothing) only for me to realize it later when I drove off. I came from a night shift. I don’t have time to go back just to get this fixed. Not good.

I have been going for about two months already with my son, I my self get a hair cut every two months, now its every 2 to 3 weeks i just love going there. The detail in this place for a haircut is AMAZING! (thanks guys)

Was definitely appreciative of them taken me as a walk in, but the barber i ended up with totally hacked what use to be a full beard apart.... one side drastically lower than the other, boxed on one side and high point on the other. Had to go by clippers to try and save what i could... i from philly, sharp high beards are what we do and i told the barber what i wanted... just didnt get it... pic with the hat is what my beard normally looks like, pic with the suit is what i walked out with... its just to be cocky, but philly has the best beard barbers on the planet and i stand on that statement. And just to be clear there were other great cuts and beard work i saw before me, i just didnt receive one...

I am not a difficult person. I literally ask for the same haircut everytime. I ask for a shadow fade and my beard trimmed. Who ever I had today was awful. I understand I came early in the morning when its slow and people might be lazy or tired but suck it up. Who ever cut hair at 11:30am on Monday 4/30/18 was completely unprofessional and lazy. He rushed through my hair cut (not even giving me what asked for) and when he finished he didnt show me my haircut. When I asked to see the cut, he responded with Bro this is what you asked for (I didnt even complain...I asked if he could trim the beard down a tad bit more). People pay for a service and should get just that. For the first time in my life...I didnt tip a barber. Last time going there.

Went in there, everything was fine. I got in the chair described my cut and dude did not listen at all. That’s not the worst part. My haircut was super rushed i was out the chair is 10 min and my hairline got messed up. Didn’t make a fus over it, it’s just that i will not be visiting and i do not recommend this place anymore. The guy did not care for what i requested and didn’t put no effort into it! 0 stars

I have been to so many barbershops and salons in the attempt to get a decent haircut for my son that I now get full-blown anxiety when its time for a trim/cut. I never knew cutting curls would be so difficult for so many. About a week ago I saw a kid at the mall whose hair texture was exactly that of my sons and who had an AMAZING cut. I made a beeline for the Mom to find out where shed taken him. This is how my son ended up in Wils chair at Burnet.Wil, thank you for your patience and for cutting my sons hair with such precision. I love it but, more importantly, HE loves it. Well be back any/every time were in the NY area!

I have 2 stars because I am unhappy with customer service. Before going to Burnet Ave Barbershop, I called to ask if they gave cuts for longer hair, I was told yes, walk in. I brought my 2 boys, who like to keep their hair grown out. It was very awkward from the second I walked in, but friendly enough, I told them I needed just a trim, to keep the length. One son came out fine but my younger son had more of a layered-style cut and all the barber did was cut the bottom off, even missed a few areas. I asked him can he fix that and would he be able to do a layered cut and he said no he doesnt do that, didnt ask anyone else and didnt offer a discount knowing that I wasnt happy with what he did. I just paid and left not wanting to make anyone feel bad but feeling like they shouldve been more considerate. I can see the place does close cuts really well and if thats what I got Im sure Id be happy and giving it a 5. I wouldve respected them more if they turned me away from the get go.

Burnet Ave Barber Shop has been a well run, friendly barbershop since the moment they opened up back in 2010. I have been getting my hair cut there for 8 years, and have yet to ever have had anything less than a positive experience. Every barber has been beyond friendly, wecoming first timers as if they’ve been patroning there for years. They also work great with children, finding ways to keep them entertained and calm during their cut.You also never have to worry about spending a long time waiting in line, as you can make appointments in advance. In the short time that you do wait, you’ll find yourself entertained by watching any of the several HD TVs(especially when a game is on), or by listening to the diverse, lively music playing throughout the store.Overall, Burnet Ave Barbershop feels like more than a simple barbershop. All of the barbers do excellent work and take pride in their work. My primary barber is Tony, but I’ve sat at several of the other barbers’ chairs and they gave me an amazing cut, so you’re in great hands no matter what. It’s a welcoming place for all ages and hair types, because the staff treats you like family.

If you are looking for an above average haircut but dont mind terrible customer service efforts & unwelcoming/poor management then this is the barber shop for you! In my experience with this establishment I have come to the conclusion that they dont value customer service or customer loyalty. They do however give above average haircuts. I came to this conclusion after several years of repeated business with them. Even with me being a long term customer and receiving good haircuts, management has made it increasingly hard to retain me as a client because of their lack of respect/concern for me as a customer. I believe they should become more aware of this so they dont began to lose any more customers than they already have!PSA: Find a good barber shop that can do both stop settling for the mediocre customer service that this shop provides!

There seems to be an issue with these barbers differentiating between a brook and a fade because everytime I ask for a brook it never ends up as such. Also it would be more pleasant if the receptionist were more friendly and not so stand-offish.

Wow what can I say. I’m big on my haircuts I go twice a week. Coming from Brooklyn barber shops this shop blows my mind. My barber who was the 3rd guy from the tv’s, killed it, skilled it and all the above. Makes every barber I’ve had look like a clown. I highly recommend this shop. Only thing i regret is not hitting the atm before hand I would have left the guy a 50 dollar tip. This shop is my new spot. Anything they need nightlife related or car related I got em’! #sickcuts
