PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS WARRANTY COMPANY!!! If you could even call them that… 4 months into my claim and my washer is still broken. First American keeps sending incompetent contractors who have terrible reviews. We have contractors come out a couple times per month to try to fix the washer. They test it and leave and when we try to wash the problem is still there. I called to complain and asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. They transfer me over, I leave messages no one calls me back. Customer service tells you what you want to hear and they don’t care. I was transferred at one point to a supervisor named Brian who said he was going to help speed up my claim and promised to replace my washer. Totally ghosted me, led me to believe he would help. I’m so disappointed, we are in the middle of a pandemic. I have a newborn, a 2 year old and no laundromat in our area. I had to travel out, pay for a babysitter and spend about $80 every time I go to a laundromat outside my county. They don’t care, it makes me so upset that month after month for years they have been collecting my money but when I need them to come through to help me when I file a claim they give me the runaround. Please don’t do business with these criminals. I will be contacting the BBB.
They will withhold your money without giving a explanation. This happened to me during re-fi last month. After i called they said they would send me the money right away. But nothing happened. Then I emailed again to follow tip. Not even a response after 8 days. Now I’m calling them but only reaches voicemail. I’m not happy at all.
Unfortunately I have not had a great or even good experience with this company. I would leave feedback on the site however the page continues to come up blank after clicking feedback options. I had a closing and sent a large check with the public notary and my loan was canceled . It has been 2 months of calling and following up but I have not received my refund. The customer service has been horrible as well and no professionalism at all. A lady named Jennifer (who might be named Denise Houston) who was very rude over the phone mentioned she did not have a boss or manager or supervisor to help me. I will be passing the word to not use this company due to not providing my money and customer service I would not want anyone with a good heart to endure this experience.

Update: I emailed the company per their response and naturally they never responded to my email. It looks like their response to my review was just a CYA on their part to look good; they had no intent to fix the problem.USAA farmed out the title work for my refinance to this company. The communication from this company was slow and intermittent at best, and when the process was all over they took money from my escrow which was supposed to be paying for my insurance and kept it, refusing repeatedly to send it on to USAA. As of today Im still repaying the homeowners insurance that I already paid and First American pocketed. Every time I call the company just makes a note in my file but nothing happens. USAA has asked them to pay the money owed as well but have been ignored too.
My rating is minus 5 Stars!!! I have been trying to get my plumbing claim handled since December 19th...(garbage disposal broken) I call every week and nobody comes out. They send you on the phone from dept. to dept. and still nobody comes out. I cancelled my policy via email January 7th and no response. I called today because I got a final payment notice for a service fee I paid and was refunded for nobody showing up. They told me that from Sept. when I purchased my warranty to January, there was no money to refund me from my 750.00 warranty. I cant get anything fixed, cant get a refund of my policy fee, they hung up on me today. Take my horrible experience and go to Old Republic Home Warranty, I had them before and never a problem. I will be going to them again and NEVER to First American again.
Absolutely the best you can work with. I work with Wendy Stewart and have for 4 years. Flawless work from her and her team. The pricing is extremely competitive and the service is 5 stars all the way. The only thing I do not like is clients having to fill out a statement of information.
Their service is set up for you to pay for, and not use. My wife and I have called many times. Its always a recording or puts you on hold FOREVER. Weve waited 15 minutes, another 15 minutes, another 20 mins, you can NEVER talk to anyone!!! Totally a sham. Im contacting CA Consumer Affairs Bureau
This company is a nightmare. Horrible service and they don’t care about their customers. I have an emergency work order, they won’t send someone to fix it or reimburse me so i could get my own contractor.
Lana Bao and Wendy Stewart have been terrific for almost 4 years now. I was introduced to them by April.I can amazingly say that there was only one time in 4 years where something did not happen when I expected it to, and it was simply a wire going out after the cut off time, 1 out of 100s of loans, is unbelievable, but believe me, it happened. Lana Bao was the best title person I have ever done business with, unfortunately she is gone now. However Wendy is also one of the best.
Incredibly poor customer service and a complete rip off. Save your money and get your warranty elsewhere. We have had nothing but problems with them, to the extent that we only received calls back when they were trying to get us to renew. Forget about actually repairing the appliance that needed work. We have had multiple repair people come out, none of whom arrived on time or close to it. And none with the necessary parts or tools.
One star is too generous. I was fine with this company until my last service when the contractor, A-1 Affordable Appliance (SC/GA), took six weeks to tell me they didn't know how to fix my washing machine and First Am did nothing to help until I filed a complaint with the BBB. Then they called me to say I had to see another contractor for a second opinion. They will not let me speak to a manager and will not offer any compensation for their bad service. It's been over 2 months now and my washer is still broken.
This review is about the First American Escrow group, attached to the First American Title Insurance Company. Erin Reardon, is super, has a clear understanding of what is going on, is not just a box checker. Able to get it done quickly, with minimal hassles--a similar group took forever to do this same sort of transaction--Thanks First American!
We had to make a claim for a flood issue in our new house. I cant imagine an insurance company or agent that could be any better. They were absolutely amazing & the agent, Tyler Chan, walked me through every step of the devastating experience, explaining every step along the way and reassuring me. I was a nervous mess. He was there for me & I will always remember him and am so glad we have this reliable company to fall back on if we ever have another little disaster. Whew. Thank you First American and thank you Tyler Chan.
Duped and lied to!!! !As a respectful client starting in 2001 while purchasing the house, I was told the title was clear by this company and my realtor. I have now been approached with an outstanding bill. Contacted you on two dates, sent documents, contacted managers. On Friday, December 9, 2016 I was informed that title companies do NOT clear prior owners bill at closing. What is your job? You failed me!!!
Hire a bunch of H1B indian and chinese people who cannot code themselves out of a box. James, japanese IT director, included sql injection into his code putting the entire financial database at risk because he felt like he needed a way to debug the system without running the sql from sql management.
I have worked with several title and escrow companies in over the years. This is one company that delivers the best pricing every time and consistently reliable in a timely manner.
Title insurance policy on property use type got messed up since 6/2016 but I found out recently when I tried to refinance. I called First American Title Insurance Co at Fresno, spoke with the manager. Just keep finger cross, hope the office staff will try to amend their mistake. This error costs me money.
I would have put HORRIBLE if there is an option in Quality ... This is a bad warranty at all time. I agree with all of your bad review because I have the same issues. Bad reps, unreliable, not fix, etc. If you do not want to f-around with your money. Stay away from this company.

I bought a property in 2009. I had a title claim and First American took care of it.
