Pros: Never gotten a bad cut. Prices are reasonable for the area. Atmosphere is nice and chill. Always some good music and/or videos on. Refreshments available while youre waiting. Usually not too hard to get a cut on short notice as long as youre not picky about your barber. Always worth it to support a local business.Cons: Seemingly high turnover rate among barbers. Or maybe I just go at irregular times. Ive been 4 times and never seen the same staff. One told me she had just started working that week. Because of this, I do sometimes have to ask for certain things to make sure my cut is just right -- taper here, specific length there, use scissors and not a trimmer here, etc. Doesnt take cards, but theres an ATM on site (charges a fee, though). Parking isnt great, but theres a lot about a block south thats cheap. Street parking in front of the shop is free when its open -- Ive gotten lucky more often than not. Tons of cool food right down the street in Japantown to go grab when youre nice and fresh.

Please hear me when I say this this Barbershop is by far the best Ive ever been to between California and Texas. Nate who is a veteran at this shop welcomed me with open arms and fixed a haircut that a previous Barber at a different shop had messed up really bad. Nate not only fixed a haircut mess but also gave me a new hairstyle and made me feel completely comfortable rocking it! Ive never gotten so many compliments about my natural hair before! Nate is my #1 recommendation to anyone in the bay area looking for a real barber who can do a pristine cut! Price point is amazing as well! Book him in advance and respect the mans time but this guy knows exactly what hes doing with the clippers!

Top knock, I new it by seeing other peoples results the first day I walked in, quick acknowledge, walk-ins welcome, I observed each barber cut to the same quality standards, clean lines, smooth fades, I needed a perfect haircut for first day at work, lets say I was very popular that day, I would drive from Sac to SJ for that special awesome haircut.

Kingsley is the worst barber Ive ever experienced! Talks too much, sloppy, unprofessional and doesnt comprehend simple english language enough to follow very basic instructions. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!

I called ahead to make an appointment and when I arrived, my barber told me there was still a person ahead of me and I ended up waiting 45 minutes. This was already pretty frustrating, but the worst part was that while my hair was being cut, my barber was telling the barber working next to him that hes happy with how much money he made for the day and is going to make up excuses to call and cancel the rest of his appointments. He then told the other barber to just let the phone ring without answering if anyone calls. Overall, my haircut was fine and I didnt have any issues with it, but the staff was incredibly unprofessional in how they dealt with customers and I am not planning on going back.

A great little spot in the neighborhood. The perfect place to go if you are looking for a real barber and good conversation. Highly recommend.

Worst haircut ever. I walked in, sat down, asked for a trim. Clippers on the sides and back, scissors on top. My haircut looks like a tried to cut my own hair after a night of drinking in the dark with gardening shears. Nothing is even, everything is choppy, he didnt even give me any type of fade in the back, just a line up so I can now grow the mullet I never wanted. He didnt even show me the back or face more toward the mirror while he was cutting. I cant believe he charged me $30 and let me walk out looking like this. I have to wear a hat until enough grows back I can go somewhere they can fix this.

Bad experience. Came 10 mins late for my appointment. So someone else was getting a haircut. Thats OK since I was late. But then the guy went on to cut somebody elses hair. I wouldnt have rated them bad or rated at all if he had told me that I will have to wait for 2 people to get their haircut before he can cut my hair (approximately 1.5 hours). The problem was not that I am third in row or have to wait 1.5 hours. The problem is this was not communicated. I understand I was 10 mins late. Doesnt mean you can make me wait 1.5 hours without giving any heads up. Btw, give yourself 5-10 mins if you will be looking for a parking spot around this place.

The fastest hair cut I have ever had

Here is the brake down:1.) $25 hair cut for a basic cut that I could have done my self. One star down for the over priced cut.2.) 2 more stars down because the hair cut I asked for was simple, but was done so poorly that I had to fix it with my own trimmers when I got home.3.) No parking meant that I had to find parking three blocks away and walk to the location. Third star down.4.) I didnt particularly like the atmosphere of the shop either. The other employees were in the main shop area playing Xbox and distracting the person cutting my hair. But I cant give a zero star review because Google wont let me. So here is your one star review east Taylor barbershop.

Ultra expensive and only cash. Has an ATM inside. There are better options around.

The cut is quite alright but the 30 dollars they charged me is a bit too much for simple hear cut and beard trim. I want there expecting to pay 15 to 17 dollars but they charged me 30!! I did not feel like arguing but never again 😁

Found my new barber shop. Hands down one of the best haircut I have gotten in San Jose.

Went in on a whim (and needed haircut) place outside is ok nothing really special, but inside is pretty nice. I had my cut from Caesar and he did awesome. My cut is usually short so he did well to make the sides and back look great. Its a little more expensive than supercuts or great clips but its definitely worth it.

Searching for reputable barbers near me for my son and so glad I chose East Taylor Barbershop I phoned first since the prior weekend, I visited two barbers and appointments were required and even though appointments are recommended, they gladly accept walk-ins too. We were both welcomed with a friendly staff and lively music. ( I may need to inquire about the playlist at our next visit)JP did a fabulous job and perfected exactly the cut my son asked for! Very professional too! Kingsleys positive vibe along with the playlist I just mentioned, will keep us loyal! From the customers faces that Ive seen after their haircut by the other barbers, their smiles and mirror checks are proof enough to recommend anyone to this fabulous shop!I would rate this business.... 5+ 🌟. I was need in of a fresh haircut, so i looked up a few local barbershops. Found this place, recently opened, decided to check them out. Greeted as i stepped in the door. And saw two barbers with crazy skills, instantly felt like Id made the right decision. I didnt make an appointment so i didnt get either of these two barbers, instead I got my haircut by V. We had a miscommunication and he cut my hair shorter then i originally wanted. But after seeing the work done at this shop we talked about a different style i could go with and BAM i walked away with a cut i didnt expect but really happy i got. Moral of the story make sure you talk clearly to your barber about what you want but expect a great haircut no matter what! Thanks V!
