It’s hard to believe this place is rated 5 stars. I thought maybe the guy lost his touch recently or something, I mean with all those 5 star reviews. I got one of the worst haircuts in my entire life today. Came in around the afternoon there was nobody except the old guy with white hair and glasses. Got scratched not once but multiple times and realized he never faced me towards the mirror. He kept saying I got a “professional” haircut at the end but I could clearly see he left the front of my head crooked. After I paid I then asked if he could even out the front just a LITTLE on the LEFT side. He suddenly started being rude, told me to hurry up and sit down if I wanted to get my hair cut done already. He snipped some on the left but abruptly snipped some on the right also. At this point I already knew he ruined it even further to the point where I couldn’t fix it myself once I got home. He didn’t even let me borrow another mirror to see the backside and claimed he didn’t have one in the building. I had to argue with the old man just to get half of my money for the horrible job he kept claiming was professional. This place might have been good back then but the most recent legit reviews on Google is 7 months and on yelp it is almost a year old, so if you’re looking for a good $15 dollar haircut look elsewhere because this place is not it.
I just went her for the first time today and this place changed my views about what a barbershop should be like. Haircuts here are very inexpensive ($15) but very worth it, and Id definitely recommend the hot towel + straight razor shaves ($35). Mr. Jack Licursi will take very good care of you and youll walk out feeling fresher than youve ever felt in your entire life.
I came here for the first time my freshman year at SJSU and I have kept coming here for the past three years. The cuts are cheap and Ive personally never found anywhere that is better. I literally walk out of their loving the way my hair looks. Most places it takes a few days for me to get used to it but Jack has yet to give me anything less than a perfect cut. When you first go in make sure and take time to talk to him so he can get a hold sense of what you want. At this point I am so confident in his abilities I will have him cut my hair and than go straight to date, he is that good.
Impeccable taper and a pleasant conversation for $15. Definitely the best barber in the area.Edit: I think hes done cutting hair. Hes rarely around during his posted hours.
He is my favorite barber and can definitely top any chain. I think he began cutting hair in the military and either he or his dad opened a barber shop. Great price and he can fix any hair issue.
Jack is the Man!!! One of the few people cutting hair today who seems to know what tapering is. A wonderful guy, as friendly and old school as they come; a fantastic haircut; and only $10. And, he works fast.
What a place! An old school barber shop with a great guy running it. I wont be looking for any other place to get a haircut in San Jose. If you are looking for the best place in town to get a haircut, this is it. The bonus is that it is a great price.
Oh... Jack, Jack licursi, ... a man of class, decency, courage, nice guy to be around, specially when you have your head in his hands, let alone one of the very few who knows how to taper! ... Jack, thank you for who you are, and best, far away from Tehran.
Is he still there? The shop is closed everyone I stop by.Great price for a well done cut. Just dont expect him to read your mind.
A good haircut is only worth so much. A good story from a true community elder is priceless.
Fascinating guy. Great cut. What more could you need?
Jack is a great man with great history. Interesting story! He is already 87 years old with 74 years professional experience!
Jack is the best out there! Great cuts and prices! I alway enjoy our conversations!
This guy is a pro and his price is great for what he could be charging.
