I hate giving bad reviews but these guys gave me no option. I paid 25$ for a downpayment to secure my appointment just to reach there and nobody was there, made a couple of calls to no help, they didn’t care to call back or give me any excuse.piece of advice never pay any money before given a service, never got my refund back, extremely disappointed ☹️ previous reviews made me think they are reasonable people, nopee they don’t care
Keisha was awesome. She was able to get me on her schedule right away and got my 28 inch box braids done in 6 hours. They looked great! The hair I bought was too heavy for my head but that’s my fault. They lasted for a month before they started to fall out. But my hair was only an inch long. I will be back!
I just relocated to California and was very skeptical about where to go get braids. I read a lot of reviews when I came across the the one about Braid it up-Ms. Keshia that was accompanied with a picture of her work. So I gave her a chance. As you can see from the pictures, she is very proficient in her skills. I really appreciated her being on time. She was with another client when I came in 30 minutes early, but she had me in her chair at exactly the appointed time! It took her a little over 1 & 1/2 hours to complete my hair and that is even with me changing styles, which she was really patient with me about. I cannot personally speak of the skills of the other stylist in the salon, but they were very professional and the salon was very clean. Usually, when I go in a salon I feel a negative atmosphere, but I did not get that at all here! Everyone was very welcoming and nice. And with that, I shall be returning. Thank you again Keshia for getting me in with such a short notice!!
Best braiders in san jose. ask for keisha she in awesome
The pricing they have here is very inexpensive if you are looking for a Hair and Nail Salon, this is the most excellent one. I tried their services and I am very satisfied with the result!
I really enjoyed the experience. The stylist was completely professional. I give her 5 stars.
Ive been going here for quite awhile. Have great conversation with Denise the stylest she is awsome. I would recommend her to all. Its a great shop.
Great place Didi did excellent job on my sons dreads.
All good
They saved my life! I love Love Love braid it up. I have been through the wire with damage to my hair but these ladies saved my hair. They posses excellent branding skill and they do t braid to tight! Ask for Keisha she is so accommodating and super professional. I would recommend all my friends and family to get their hair braided at Braid it Up!
The shop was clean, organized. My stylist Keisha greeted me and walked me back to her station asked me what I wanted. Gave me a fair price for 2 step cornrows. She worked quickly and efficiently.I know I will be returning. Thanks Keisha. I have been getting so many complements.
So glad I found this company. Ive been to braid it up a handful of times over the last decade or two. I recall it being ran out of a house on white road. I thought they closed because theyre not on white rd anymore. I wish I had know they relocated becauseIve always been happy with my hair and had a great experience with quality hair care. Wish I could say that about a few other places Ive tried over the years.I will only go here from now on!
I dont usually do my hair in the saloon but I dont know what drag me in there today. This is my worst day ever. The lady just cut my hair and she didnt even know what to do even when I showed her the picture of the style that I wanted. She keep asking for things she should use on my hair and didnt even know how to turn on the water to wash my hair. She look like a famous stranger. Too much talk and less work. Besides all, I got a ticket because they couldnt help quicker in changing my $4. I gave $4 and the other lady gave me $3&75C. The end product look like when I had just wash my hair from the start. After all, she knew for sure that the style was not good for the money they charged. So she asked for less money but yet still, $65 plus $40 ticket bill is stupid. First in my life to get a ticket here in the US. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. No body will not even ask me where I do this nonsense. I just wash my hair and oil it when I came home. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽bullshit.Kumba
Love the service and they really are good loved how they braided my hair
I go every 3-6 months (they are my back up stylists), but it seems like every time I go its a different price so I never know how much to bring.. I still go because they are talented and it isnt overpriced 9/10.
Awesome service, nothing but great vibes and wonderful employees, I highly recommend going here. Especially if your a student at SJSU and live on campus, new to San Jose, and looking for an amazing hair stylist. You guys are awesome 😊

RE: Tree Braids by Joy:Im just trying to get this done so I can go homeSometimes Businesses make the mistake of prioritizing getting $$ out of a customer *right now* over creating a relationship with a customer that will be even more valuable over time, than $$ or a single service on any given day.Braid It Up made that mistake with me.It was going to be my first time in a black hair salon after 13 years of taking care of my own dreadlocks. I was nervous, and wanted to help myself be happy with my new hairstyle.I did my best to give them the chance to do right by me: I called and spoke with them to ask questions and let them know what I wanted. I even dropped by a few days before my appointment to meet and speak with them, show them the extensions I was bringing for them to braid into my hair, and put a face to the name in their appointment book.In any case, they assigned 19 year old Joy to do my hair.Lets just say ... Joy was distracted. That very morning she was experiencing some big changes in her personal life, and she wanted to get back to sorting them out.As a result, I kept hearing these words come out of her mouth through the entire appointment:Im just trying to get this done so I can go home.Does that seem like something a paying client wants to hear during any type of paid service? No. Its not.I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. I waited patiently for her to finish braiding my hair. You never *really* know how its going to turn out until theyre done, anyway. What I saw in the mirror was an atrocity that I couldnt understand:- Tree Braids with spider legs at the end, where her sloppy super glue job had left pieces of hair sticking out at odd angles- Scalp, Scalp, Scalp: she didnt know how to close in the crown of the head to minimize how much scalp was showing. Add to this the fact that I was getting blonde extensions braided into my brown hair, and I had blocks of dark brown, framed by pale scalp, leading into sloppy braids. (other braiders have since done far superior jobs on my hair)- Within 3 Days, a handful of braids were slipping out and coming undone. When I contacted Joy about this initially, she said it was to be expected because I used straight blonde hair, and I have fine hair. Fair enough ... though others have done a fine job with these same conditions. Before I left the salon, I stood in front of the mirror staring: I couldnt believe they were letting me walk out of the salon looking like this. I looked around to see if any of the other ladies working were seeing the same thing that I was, and they were all acting as if the 4+ hour appointment during which I had been sitting their in their salon had an abrupt and immediate expiration as soon as the last braid was braided: they all had their eyes focused on what they were doing, ignoring me.I walked out of the salon with barely a goodbye.Oh, but Joy was happy to take my $325 + $25 tip.She *did* offer to fix it for me. I only had to make the hour drive in a direction that I would only go in to visit Braid It Up. I declined because of the drive, and my feelings of frustration and doubt about the experience I had already had with her.Ive considered writing this review for a while. I refrained thinking that I was coming from anger, and didnt want to be simply lashing out.But I feel its responsible for me to add my voice to the conversation about this business.I believe that they were more focused on getting my money than on providing me with a quality service. If youre ok with that, by all means, go see them.Especially Joy.But if you want someone to actually care whether you like your hair when you leave ... stay away from them.Particularly, stay away from Joy.Good Luck!
One of the best salons in San Jose, prices VERY reasonable!
They took forever to do my hair. I made an appointment for 2pm and they didnt take me til 3.
Never Been
Love them
