Just moved into the Willow Glen Avalon community about a month ago and it’s been very comfortable thus far.Carlos our sales representative has been extremely helpful. He has been our point of contact for any questions and has made the process of moving-in smoother overall. There were appliances that were working funky upon move in, but Ricardo from the maintenance team has been responsive and fixed these issues within 24hrs of submitting a maintenance request. If you don’t purchase parking, it is first come first serve inside the gate. Park by 5pm!
Great place to live. Very dog/pet friendly. The apartments themselves are not brand new, but they are spacious. I love the weekly food trucks that are brought in, and the maintenance staff are very responsive and kind. Max quickly helped me with an appliance issue, and Ricardo went out of his way to be playful with my dog and put him at ease.
This is a very beautiful community! We were looking for a 1 bedroom for my daughter, and Yza from the leasing office was very helpful. The pool area was a little dirty when we visited but other than that, this is definitely in our top 5.
The grounds are nice and the staff are very very helpful. Carlos in particular has made us feel at home from day 1. He assisted with our unit tour, helped us sign paperwork and has checked in a few times since our official move in date. The apartment is cozy but there were a couple of things that broke within a week’s time of moving in (ice machine & microwave handle). On the flip side, maintenance has been responsive and professional in handling these issues. The pool is sizable and fitness center ensures you can get a solid sweat on.
We moved back to California from Ohio and we had the difficult choice of finding a place. Avalon Willow Glen was my partners first choice and after extensive research and an online tour we decided to move in. Our experience has been positive since the moment we contacted the office. The staff is super friendly and helpful; we needed a window screen replaced and Jonathan from maintenance came and completed my service request within 24 hours. We are happy to be at a nice complex with kind people! Even my parents who visited commented on how nice the staff is and they are always available to answer any questions we have! Our cat has responded positively to our new apartment as well! Truly thankful everyone has helped make this an easy transition.
We lived here for exactly 3 years. Only left because we moved to a different country for my job. Wonderful place and great staff.Jolynn has always been very communicative and proactively contacted us a few times to see how we were doing. She also made our moving out as smooth as possible, considering moving is always pretty stressful.Rob and Jesus are also very helpful. Importantly the service guy is great. We almost never had to wait for over 24 hours to fix anything, including the microwave. The neighborhood and the park nearby are great too. We loved to walk/run almost every day.The gym is ok. The swimming pools are excellent. We will remember this place fondly.
I just moved here and it is a pretty nice apartment. Yza helps me a lot with all the stuff and I really appreciate it. I am going to explore more in this community.
Yza has been wonderful to work with! She did everything she could for us to be able to move out in time before our lease ended at our house. Avalon Willow Glen has been a great place so far!
Yza definitely helped out so much with my apartment hunting. I was living in 2 bedroom at avalon willow glen and had to urgently look for 1 bedroom and Yza was able to help out so quickly with finding a 1 bedroom apartment that had everything I was looking for at an affordable rate. I will be definitely contacting her from now if I have any questions or issues!
Max did an amazing job at taking care of our maintenance requests! He went above and beyond duty by fixing not only the detached closet trim and the cracked sink faucet but also the slow drain! Thank you, Max!!
My wife and I were helped by Yza during the process of our apartment hunting, and Yza helped us out tremendously in this time - particularly when scoping out the units available for leasing, as well as explaining all the other miscellaneous details (other fees, amenities, events, etc.). Even post-moving in, she has been very helpful in answering questions that we have been asking as well as being very accommodating to other requests such as package delivery and so on. Overall, we feel very welcomed and invited!
Ive lived here for a few months, and there are definitely some pros and cons to the place.Overall, the place is pretty well maintained. Pool is always clean, gym is clean, grass always looks healthy. Never too many issues with neighbors, occasionally you may here a door slam or someone above you walking around, but nothing too out of the ordinary. There is the occasional smoke alarm in the distance, but hey, it happens.Unfortunately...there are a fair amount of issues, at least for me personally. Our dish washer is funky, doesnt really clean anything, random smoke detector malfunctions with it going off for no reason, leaky bathroom tub faucet, our refrigerator leaks water randomly, and our dryer is literally on its last leg. Occasionally it doesnt want to start. A few times our garbage disposal has decided it didnt want to work either.Management is pretty lackluster. They tend to lie to keep up appearances for the outside looking in. For example: our dog was attacked by another dog, yet we were the only party that was disciplined, even though our dog wasnt the aggressor. When we spoke to management about it, they said it never happens, yet weve heard from neighbors that the same dog HAS attacked their dogs. We also informed management that there blood on the stairs and the landing from the attack, yet they never did clean it and its still there. We were also the recent victims of a theft. Someone stole my expensive bike off our 2nd story patio at 5:30am. I should have made it harder to get, but hindsight is always 20/20. At least renters insurance helped us out quickly! We told management about what transpired, they told us that they havent heard of that happening here, which again is not necessarily true.Fortunately/Unfortunately, we are not the only ones who have been a victim of bike theft. A neighbor told us about his bikes being stolen on two different occasions, and pointed out a few other spots that have been victims as well. Theft happens, but not informing residents doesnt help. There is always a possibility someone saw/heard something.Avalon Willow Glen isnt a bad place to live. The neighbors are friendly and the surrounding neighborhood is inviting, well manicured and lots of doggie stations. There are some shortcomings for sure, but all places have them. It would be nice if management was a little more helpful and more empathetic towards their residents when things happen. There have been other Avalon properties that happily credit your account for the inconveniences and when major things happen but this one has yet to offer any sort of resolution.Hope it works out for future and current residents.
My partner and I saw about 10 different apartments before we chose Willow Glen! It was actually the first one we saw. Its a beautiful gated community that we fell in love with right away! Also loved that they had dog park and a pet wash station since we have a 9 month old Corgi! One of the deciding factors for us was our Apartment manager Nancy, she really went above and beyond with all our questions and making sure we were making the best choice for us! Even after we moved in she followed up with us to see how our move went and to go through our checklist :) Highly recommend her for anything you need! Were so glad to call this place home!
Avalon Willow Glen is a great place to live, quiet, and pet friendly. The Manger and service are all very friendly and helpful whenever we need something. There is a food truck that comes on Thursdays, and other awesome amenities available for residents. Thank you to Jolynn for always being a friendly face we can talk to if any concerns.
Customer service is a big factor for me. It makes all the difference. Yza Velasco goes above and beyond to support the Avalon Willow Glen community. The management team is exceptional.
Our recent visit and tour of the property was fantastic. It was a pure pleasure to work with Hanin. She was very informative and helpful in answering our questions and walking us through the leasing process.
Avalon Willow Glen was a decent place to call home for the 2 years that my Fiancé and I lived here. We both really enjoyed living in this area and neighborhood but it was eventually time for us to move on. The whole Avalon staff was friendly and helpful anytime we needed them, for the most part. Whether if it was a question regarding our lease or a maintenance fix, they were quick to respond. Especially during the beginning of this pandemic when times were tough, they did their best to accommodate at a respective distance. The staff has been very helpful and informative during our move out process as well. Nancy Dao, Regional Community Consultant for Avalon, was very warm, receptive and helpful when asking her about my remaining questions and concerns before moving out. I thought I was going to receive the opposite customer service since were on the way out but she made it as smooth as possible.I would recommend this place for any couple whos looking for a place in a nice neighborhood and a friendly leasing staff.
Did a tour with my girlfriend. The community is nice. Staff was great!
Yza Velasco has been very nice with the move in process and is very helpful and informative!!
The Avalon Willow Glen is a great place to call home. I had to move during all this COVID chaos and thought it would be a nightmare to find a new place to live.I never had to check out any other communities after my first visit to the Avalon Willow Glen. This place was great right off the bat. Jolynn and her great team who are awesome, very nice and more then helpful was one of many of the reason why we chose the Avalon willow Glen.
Jorge is amazing! He responded with a great sense of urgency. We had back to back situations and he was quick to get them taken care of. First our heater gave out and that was taken care of same day! Then our dryer gave out and once again he was quick. He has great customer service and so much patience. Im definitely so very appreciative of how fast and how nice he was too. Thank you so much Jorge.
Avalon Willow Glen does a really good job blending the efficiency of a national company with the fairness and care of a complex a fraction of the size.My fiancé (then my girlfriend) and I moved here after living in a smaller complex and getting fed up with the lack of attentiveness when it came to basic maintenance, safety, and amenities relative to the price we were paying. We selected Avalon Willow Glen due to its proximity to our families, our jobs, and general life activities (hospitals, the mall, doctor, etc.) as well as the amenities.Jolynn was our first point of contact and honestly, she is a very fair individual. This is a big deal because with apartment living, the most vocal, squeaky wheels tend to prevail most often when there are disputes, or worse, both parties are ignored. Jolynn not only is solution oriented, but is also very protective of the collective communitys experience and always makes sure that all residents feel supported and heard. As an added personal touch, Ive seen Jolynn countless times also operate above and beyond her job. As she always says we live here too so the community is important to us beyond paying rent. She exemplifies this quote by always responding to people with grace and dignity whether theyre getting ready to go to a gala to celebrate success or are trying to navigate unemployment. No matter what, she responds with grace and helps people preserve their dignity. With the addition of Desiree, the new community manager, our experience at Avalon has been greatly enhanced. Desiree does a good job in partnership with Jolynn ensuring that all communication loops are closed and facilitating cool surprises like weekly food truck nights, Bingo nights, and holiday themed events for kids and families. While many complexs customer services have decreased in quality, I can honestly say that Desiree has ensured that Avalon somehow gets even better at customer service. This could all look like a planted reviewer shilling for Avalon, but as someone who has managed teams and built businesses, I know what well-run organizations look like. This is a well-run complex and organization overall. Additionally, as my fiancé and I are growing as people, Avalon Willow Glen has been the perfect life partner - great, affordable living, while supporting what your ultimate living goals are. If/when we move out, we will only be doing so to own a home, and Ill always credit Avalon with facilitating a great living experience that has supported us through grad school, new jobs, and promotions; plus everything in between.
Ive loved my experience living at Avalon Willow Glen, it has been absolutely amazing. The staff, Jolynn(who is so great & helpful) and recently I met Sheana who has been amazing to work with. She’s so helpful and kind. Always responds to my questions & great asset to Avalon willow glen. Id like to give to also give a shout out to Jonathan Vargas who amazing maintenance, he’s so helpful and always gives best service. Clay, Ricardo snd Max are also so great too!Anytime Ive had an issue, its solved within a day(which is so amazing) and its always the best quality and highest efficiency and the best part very knowledge of any maintenance issue. Id give them 10/10 stars if possible to them and they are always very helpful with any questions I have.If you want have a safe, clean, home feeling, make sure to check out Avalon Willow Glen. My experience has just been perfect - Sapna
Carlos was very helpfull
Clean and simple review:The leasing staff was great! Super helpful throughout the entire leasing process and even after.Even though the leasing offices were closed due to the state lockdown, I was still able to get everything done and signed within the same weekend. The virtual tour was useful and helped me to take that final step towards leasing with Eaves West Valley.Looking forward to moving in and being part of the community!
I have lived here for almost 3 years and have always had a great experience. Robert at the Avalon Willow Glen is always a pleasure to work with. He is very helpful and always quick with helping on any needs. We recently went in to get a parking space and he was able to get us one right then and there and he knew off the top of his head what spots where open near our building. I highly recommend working with him any chance you get as your experience will always be great.
We have lived here for over a year so now is the time for us to give honest feedback..The good:- Maintenance requests are handled promptly by Jorge, typically within 24 hours- Good sound proofing in the floors / walls- Central air conditioningThe other side:- Only patrolled at night. Tried to report suspicious activity and was refereed to police non-emergency number- People do not close the gates so anyone can walk in- Only 1 pool open, available to 1 unit at a time- A lot of people do not pick up after pets- Rates did not go down and no refunds provided, even with the restrictions on amenities (gym and pools)
I love my home,thanks Avalon and staff ❤ 🙏
Im changing my review because this place raise the rent during pandemic and driving many people to move during a dangerous time. Worst of all, they raised it 8% which is above legal limits. When I confront them, they tried to lie about the law. They systematically raise rent year after year regardless of market condition and legality. Be aware and choose to live here at your own risk.※※※※※※※great place to live. I have lived at a few fancy apartment complexes in San Jose, so far this is my favorite. The heated pool and hot tub is the biggest compared to other apartment complexes. The staff are friendly and helpful. The interior and appliances are a little dated. Hopefully they will upgrade them soon.
Maintenance crew responded right away to our service request. Ricardo, one of the propertys service crew, came into our apartment and fixed our garbage disposal unit like magic! Fantastic service! He was friendly, courteous and respectful. Keep up the great work!
Apartment environment is fine. But the managers were not nice. And they are trying to ripe your off when you move out. Break all their promises, like promised to replace all counter tops for you so they have countertop renewed marked on your checklist, but then they have never did the replacement. Not even after calls and emails, yet they want to charge you for renew now when you move out. They charge ppl for 2 more months lease break fee. But I made a deal with them that I pay that earlier termination in one time before March, and they will charge me just 1 more month. I made all that agreed payment on time. But now they are trying to collect on more month again!!!Greedy!!
This community has been wonderful to live in! We have been here for just over a year and the staff is amazing to work with. They always strike up a conversation and ask to see how you are doing. Robert is who we have personally dealt with the most and goes above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of promptly and explained thoroughly when we have questions. The community is well taken care of and very pet friendly, which we love. Overall, this is one of the BEST places we have lived!!
Living here is wonderful. The service is really quick and helpful. I really appreciate Jonathan’s service today to help unclogged our kitchen sink. Nice and efficient!
The folks who work here are awesome! They are attentive to your needs and really will go the extra mile for you. Wonderful place to live! Especially big thanks to Rob to helped us out when we had car trouble.
Its really expensive to live here but overall really enjoyed my experience. Rob in the office was really helpful from move in to move out. We havent gotten our deposit statement back yet and we hear they try to gouge you so Ill be back to make a final review once that happens.
I want to give this community 5 stars. Stephanie, Jonathan, Rob, Andrew and the entire leasing and maintenance team were outstanding. I moved when I was pregnant and alone. They did everything they could to accommodate me and they were always friendly. They helped me lug huge packages to my apartment and any time I had an issue, they addressed it and resolved it immediately. Maintenance was quick to respond even showing up on a Saturday night when I had an emergency repair that needed to get fixed, which, thankfully, never happened again.Their response time was impressive. They went above and beyond even putting in light bulbs for me while I was pregnant. My apartment was older, however, it was spacious and the price was reasonable. I dont think Ive ever given an apartment community 5 stars until this one thanks to the amazing staff. Sadly, I have to move because I now need a 3 bedroom apartment, and Im pretty sure I wont find another management team like this one again. With that said, every apartment complex has its pros and cons, but Id highly recommend checking out this community, spacious apartments, and their top notch management and maintenance team.
The community is pretty clean, about once every 2 months they blow the leaves/debris away but it could be done more often. The maintenance group is fantastic, Jorge in particular is incredible and super respectful. We cannot not say enough good things about him. The apartments are almost 20 years old now with dated appliances and flooring, so for the price its not really worth it.However, here comes the real news... the back pool has been closed for months due to various renovations. Its been super disappointing as the main reason we moved here was for the pools and pool-deck area, and for an entire year theyve been basically out of operation the entire time. Also, residents have not been given any form of refund due to the unwelcome closures in facilities we are still being charged for, and were even unable to renew our leases at the lower rates being charged to brand new tenants. Lastly, interlopers from outside the community commonly loiter on Brevins Loop near the gate, so parking outside the complex is not recommended there even with the limited available space inside.
Do not rent here. they had a recent staff change but the main people are still here. lived here for over a year and they left a rat in the apartment when we moved in. How do i know they knew there was a rat? they laid out rat killers all over the laundry room and never actually caught it. hoped it would die by the time i moved in.
The community is nice, friendly and well maintained. Daniel at the front office has been a great help and is always available to assist. The maintenance team is a pleasure to work with. Jorge (George) has been especially good. He is very professional, very efficient and always comes with a big smile. He has fixed any and every issue we have needed and done so with speed and precision. We are very happy with the team here and glad we chose this community to live in.
Robert is the best and great to work with. Also the maintenance team here is top notch and fixes things right away. Very happy to be living here! 👍
The team here is always very helpful and always very friendly. Any time we have had an issue that we needed to get the Maintenance team out for it gets resolved very fast. We recently had to have our skin and shower fixed as they kept backing up. Jorge came out and was able to get this all taken care of in a very professional way. I am always impressed with how great everything is here at the Avalon in Willow Glenn.
My family just moved into Avalon Willow Glen. We have lived in many different apartments before this one and so far this complex has the best maintenance team. When we moved in to this apartment the resident before us lived here for many years and the apartment needed a lot of work to update things to Avalon standards from once being Archstone. And from the previous resident not taking care of the apartment when they were here. I was able to see first hand the maintenance team come together to get many jobs done in such a short time frame. Since moving in there has been a few little things here and there that needed to be fixed. I am by far shocked at the response time to our needs. Same day! And I am not sure if this is their set up or if it has just happened this way but each time we needed maintenance to come by Jorge has been the one to helps us. Jorge is great at what he does and he is very personable. Not only does he repair our home for us, but he has also helped us give away our couch to make room for our new one. Never knew how awesome it could be to have the same maintenance worker each time. Jorge has gone above and beyond what his job description says.
-Theft and lack of security. My car was stolen on Brevins Loop (on the street in front of the complex), my garage was broken into, and many items were stolen from me while living here.-Homeless people and nonresidents are constantly coming inside the community to dumpster dive and take stuff out of the recycling. You can hear them banging around and rummaging through the dumpsters at all hours of the day, often waking residents up in the early morning. A neighbor of mine was threatened by one when he confronted them for making a lot of noise early in the morning.-The office staff collects every dollar from you that they can for AvalonBay, behind the façade of keeping the best interest of their residents in mind. Three things you can expect when you sign a lease at Avalon Willow Glen: rent will increase every time your lease expires, you will not get any of your deposit back no matter how nicely you take care of your apartment, and they will find something to bill you for that your deposit does not cover. I have talked to four other people who moved away from here and this was the case with all of them.-The police are constantly being called to the complex for noise complaints, drunken behavior, violent altercations, and many other problems as well.-Avalon has a contract with a predatory towing company (Rebellos) and allows for them to prowl the parking lot at all hours to tow residents cars for even the most minor parking violations without warning.Every time I brought any of these concerns to Jolynn, Rob, Jesus, or anyone else in the office, I never once felt like they were taking my concerns seriously. My concerns would always be met with an excuse, and something along the lines of We are already doing x, y, and z to address this problem but there is only so much we can do. The bottom line is, the front office staff does not care about you or your concerns, their primary concern is to protect the company image and the corporate interests of AvalonBay.In addition to my complaints mentioned above, one of the many other things that made living at Avalon Willow Glen an unpleasant experience was the ever-present, pungent odor of dog feces and cigarette smoke. On many occasions, the smell of cigarette smoke would be dispersed throughout the complex as it poured out of the car windows while one of the office staff members (Jolynn) would drive by smoking in the car. Although I have moved on, I am living in a much nicer place, and no longer have to deal with the smell of these things daily, the incompetence of the office staff at Avalon continues to leave a foul taste in my mouth.(For more details that I was not able to include here due to exceeding character limitations, please see my review under the same name on Yelp)
Been living here about 3 years. Community is nice. Apartments are spacious. Mayesha is an outstanding manager, Jolyn has always been so happy and helpful! a great supervisor!George is the best. The whole team Really at Avalon willow glen is genuinely fantastic.Thank you for being such a great place to live.
Avalon Willow Glen has been great the past year plus my family and I lived here. Robert is great, he always professional while keeping us informed about everything. The transparency between the leasing office and the residence is great. The community events are great and occur very frequently. Overall a great community to live in
Thank you Abel for your emergency maintenance assistance!! On Friday night we were getting ready for bed when we heard our laundry room flood. We called it in and Abel came quick! He check everything, let me know what he was doing and made sure everything was cleaned before he left. Very professional. Definitely sleeping at ease tonight!! Thank you so much Abel!
I loved living in this apartment for a year. Everything is just so perfect starting from the management staff: Myesha, Jolynn, Rob did a great job of helping the residents to have a great experience throughout. The amenities are great: two pools, gym, plenty of parking space, spacious apartment blocks and apartment units. The apartment is equipped with everything that you need and everything will be working great. The apartments are Really spacious with lots of storage and big rooms. Kudos to the maintenance staff For helping us with minor issues. You can never go wrong by choosing to live here. 😊
The staff has been very helpful and accommodating whenever issues have come up. Rob in particular helped us through a time when my car window got broken (while parked somewhere else). It was such a relief. I feel lucky to live here.
Lived here from 2017 - 2020.Pros:-Good soundproofing between apartments-Friendly staff who are responsive via email-Maintenance requests are dealt with promptly and respectfully-Beautiful, well maintained grounds and quiet complex-Nice washer and dryer-Reasonable rent increases year over year (first year was 10%, second year was like $20)-Were polite and understanding of my less than ideal move out situation during COVID, which prevented me from returning to the apartment to clean and dispose of a number of small items left behind during the move. Cleaning and disposal charges were extremely reasonable.Cons:-Previous tenant was a smoker, and instead of dealing with the smell before I moved in, they drowned the apartment in febreeze. Once I could smell past the febreeze, the smoke smell was terrible. Was eventually fixed after a carpet cleaning, ozone purifying, and time, but would have been faster and easier for them to take care of it before I moved in-Car was broken into within the complex-Parking is very difficult to find within the complex after around 8 pm and you might not be able to find a spot, despite being given 2 parking spots with your lease-Really important to capture the condition of apartment on move in. I had a fully functional microwave that had had some minor cosmetic damage that had very clearly been repaired (therefore they must know about it, right?) so I didnt note the damage on move in. That was a mistake because despite photo evidence of the crack existing on the day I moved in, I was charged for a replacement microwave. Be very thorough on your move in checklist!Overall, I would recommend this complex and enjoyed my time there. However, feeling a little burned on the replacement appliance charge and their unwillingness to consider photo evidence, so dropping it down a star for that.
NOT DISABILITY FRIENDLY- any accommodations that physically alters the apartment will require you to pay restoring it to “normal” when you vacate. Socked with a $385 bill. Reason: “we are not zoned for handicapped people”. BUYER BEWARE!!
THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED.My car was broken into on 3 different occasions, car alarms were constantly going off during the night, loud neighbors partying at the pool day and night made it impossible to sleep. The mailboxes in my building were always getting broken into. The appliances are cheap and outdated. The residents rarely clean up after their dogs and there is excrement all over the grounds. It smells. In the year I lived at Avalon, all of the people I met on my floor moved out because of the rent increase. Avalon are only about taking money from people who need a place to live. You will get raked financially as Avalon will take every penny they possibly can from you, including deposits even though there was a class action lawsuit filed recently (Google it) and they were found guilty. It happened to me and the neighbors I met, all of whom have left this unsafe complex. In addition, there was an unbelievable amount of crime in the area. It was not uncommon to hear the police helicopters circle with spotlights on any given evening. I never felt safe at Avalon. There is no security on the premises. There were always homeless people going through the rubbish bins. Avalon did nothing to help. Trust me, avoid this place. The reviews saying its such a great place are misleading. The authenticity of these reviews should be questioned. After my experience here, I have learned firsthand what it is like and I will tell you that you will wish you never moved in. Be wary of their lip service. Avalon will take every cent they can from you just as they did me and my family, as well as my former neighbors.
The maintenance department is very reliable. They called to schedule an appointment to replace my broken microwave for 10am. The maintenance man showed up right AT 10am. Jorge, the maintenance man, replaced the microwave and at the same time, he noticed my hallway light was out. I wasnt able to reach it and he offered to replace it. Thats what I call being on time and EXCELLENT service.UPDATE from 08/12/2021: Really appreciated Carlos assistance in the Leasing Office when I needed to use their fax machine. It was my first time meeting him and he really went out of his way to ask if I needed water or anything else while I was there. He made a great firstimpression! :)UPDATE 2 from 09/10/2021: Really appreciated how Jonathan (Maintenance Team) was great on communicating and updating us on the leak from our bathroom ceiling. He doesnt rush the process but rather examines the issue at hand and tries to figure out the best possible resolution for the problem. Thank you again, Jonathan! :)
The community is clean, quiet & friendly. The office staff is very welcoming and friendly. Especially Johnathan Nguyen I believe he is the manager? He helped my moving process so much and is always very helpful with whatever the residents need. The gym is always clean and so is the pool area. 👌🏽
We lived in Avalon Willow Glen for 10 months in 2019.The stay was good and the leasing office folks are very helpful. However they charged us over $1500 for move out costs for replacement of carpet, floor tiles, microwave oven and cleaning the house. I felt this was very unfair. We didnt particularly do anything to damage the house. The floor tiles and microwave oven were just bad quality. In summary, the stay was good but be prepared to shell out a lot of money during move out.
The maintenance team, especially Jorge, has been nothing but wonderful. They are responsive, kind, and insightful. Recently our fridge/freezer broke, and over the course of the next 24 hours Jorge came in and repaired it, as well as providing 2 check ups for thoroughness. After we determined that it was the unit as a whole, not just one piece, he helped us by ordering a new unit, offering a temporary replacement, and keeping us up to date on the expected delivery; all within a 24hr period across 2 days. For every other issue weve had, maintenance has had an average of
I have lived here twice now. The grounds of the apartment itself are so pretty and well maintained. The staff is great and east to communicate with as well. I couldnt be happier that they are such a dog friendly community as my dog is my best friend
These guys have a scam going with Rebello’s Garage in San Jose, I strongly suspect. They randomly tow your car from the parking lot; the signage is poorly written and ambiguous in order, I assume, to entrap people; then the garage charges $450. Im filing with the police. Totally unethical.
Rob in the leasing office is awesome and truly offers outstanding customer service. He is always pleasant, informative and quickly responds to whatever needs my family has. My wife and 9 month old son have needed assistance while I was away at work and Rob was there to help -- going above and beyond. Super appreciate you Rob! Weve had nothing but a great experience here at the Avalons. The premises are well kept, its quiet, peaceful and the two pools and BBQ are a definite plus!
Jolynn was my community consultant and was extremely helpful and friendly during the whole process of getting an apartment!! Avalon Willow Glen is a great place to live! It is a very beautiful and clean apartment complex. Pool area is awesome!Thank you SO much Jolynn for your unbelievable help!
A place to call home! Weve lived here for 3.5 years and its been a great experience. Its quiet and offers great amenities (2 pools and a gym with a BBQ grill). Jolynn and the team are very responsive to our needs. Would recommend if youre looking for a good value in the Bay Area!
We have only lived here less than a month. So far, it has been a very good experience. We rented sight unseen from out of state and everyone in the office was very helpful. The entire process was made easier and less stressful. The apartments look a little older. Overall, we are very happy.
Great neighborhood! Nice complex, friendly & respectful neighbors, discrete and spacious apartment. Feels like home! Staff is easy to work with too. Application process was pain free too. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a safe and quiet place to live.
Jorge is an excellent handy man. He is the most polite person I have come across. He came in and quickly finished his task, and also helped me out with a personal task. Great guys to have! @avalon
A great place to live. Safe area, and Ive yet to live in a complex with such friendly and accommodating staff - anytime I have needed a service request, they have responded beyond quickly and efficiently; its amazing! Office staff is always friendly, and maintenance went out of their way to help lug a couple of huge and heavy packages up my three stories for me. As for the dog poop, I have two myself and dont notice it more than here or there - I have seen the guys walking around to pick it up (although there are dog bag stations around the grounds) - maybe they just do that more now to keep clean. No place is perfect, but Im definitely happy living here!
Its been almost 3 years here. Loved the Community. Thanks to Jolynn for initial setup here and she is very helpful always. The community is very quiet and neat. Excellent Service for all maintenance Requests . Overall, we are happy.
No matter what you need, the staff is always quick to respond. Theyre just a nice bunch of helpful, friendly people. Ive lived here for more than 10 years and the experience has never deteriorated. I love living here :)
I dig living here. Close to the Tamien train station which is first / last stop direct to San Francisco. The staff is friendly, timely, and knowledgeable. Jonathan is fun to talk to.I love the maintenance team, theyre always smiling and it looks like they get along well. Theyre super timely and polite. Great bunch of characters on the maintenance team.2 pools, 2 hot tubs, 2 grills. Gym equipment is a bit weathered but gets the job done
I love living here. And Jolynn is always having some kind of delicious food brought to the office for us lucky tenants. Free food included with rent? Home sweet home.
This is my second year living in this complex and I am very happy with my experience.Staff: They are all very friendly. Ive mostly interacted with Jonathan, who is always so sweet and ready to help. I called the leasing office many times in the past year when I couldnt go pick up my packages delivered to the leasing office, due to my work schedule. Jonathan and other staff helped send them to my front door every time. The maintenance team are really responsive and impressively fast as well.Amenities: The apartment is very spacious, with big patio, and washer and dryer built in. The washer and dryer are of old models - but still way better than having to share with other people. The gym is small but was never crowded when I was there. Wish it had rowing machines tho.Parking: It can be very difficult to find a parking spot if you dont rent a designated one.
I have a great experience with the response from Maintance when I had a problem with my carpet, Jorge came really fast when I put my service request, he was really good and helpful plus his charisma and enthusiasm made things way more easy, he made us feel comfortable and in good hands, my grandma really appreciate his work and warm talk. Thanks again Jorge
Robert was very helpful and supportive when my wife and I decided to move from our one bedroom to a two bedroom apartment at Avalon Willow Glen. He gave us a tour of the new space and advised us on moving. His help was just what we needed for our move to go smoothly into an apartment we love!
Thank you, Jorge. You solved bathroom problems quickly. I can live comfortably again. And you’re so polite and friendly. I really appreciate all the work youve done.
I truly believe that the maintenance team at the Avalon Willow Glen is one of the best features of living here. They are always friendly, approachable, and engaging. Any time I submit a service request, they are efficient in responding to my needs. When I am out and about in the complex, they always say hello and they seem very happy.
Great place to live! Apartment square footage is impressive for the rent. Plenty of parking for both residents and their guests. Friendly office staff. Dog friendly :) Beautiful pools and picnic areas.
This is my first experience in an apartment, and it definitely has its challenges, but the move in was a great experience thanks to Jolynn. Her kindness and patience with my naivete in the renting process made this a great first time renter experience. Jolynn is what sold me on choosing to rent here, not just the complex, she made this place feel like a community I would want to belong to.
I had just the best experience dealing with Archstone Willow Glen. I met Kim Taylor on a walk-in to the leasing office and she quickly showed me around the avaialable apartments. The property is nice. Fairly new and well maintained. Apartments are nice size, lots of storage, open floor plan, W/D in unit and a lot of awesome community features, good appliances. NO ASSIGNED PARKING.Holding the apartment was quick and so that was holding return within 72 hours. Found a bigger 1 BR in a nearby community.
We have lived in here for 4 yrs now and its been a very good experience. Special thanks to Jorge who is part of the maintenance team. He is a professional, very efficient, quiet and very helpful. He provides excellent services .He has always showed up on time and fixed all our issues quickly.
Have lived here for 5 years and just renewed for another year. First, the front office staff is great! There has been some turnover during the last 5 years and the people have been consistently friendly, and professional. The current team includes Jolynn, Daniel, and Rob. All our friendly and helpful. There is a new general manager, Maiesha, whom weve only met once, but she is very friendly as well. The front office accepts delivery packages which is a very nice perk, with all the package thefts in San Jose. The grounds here are very well kept and most dog owners are good about picking up after their pet. Considering that it is a large complex, it is remarkably quiet here. Of course, it depends on your neighbors, but the front office seems very responsive when these noise issues come up. We have had very few issues in this regard. The maintenance team is great as well. Repairs are usually completed within a day and are done correctly.Id recommend paying for either a covered parking stall, or garage. Like most other apartment complexes, there arent enough spaces for everyone, so people wanting to park after 7-8 PM will find themselves on the streets surrounding the complex. The pool and gym are well kept, and the pool is nicely heated during the spring and summer. We highly recommend Avalon Willow Glen!
Rob and the maintenance team were very helpful with getting our AC back up and running when this heat wave hit. Great staff and a great community to live at for the past 2 years
This review is for Stephanie, the manager at Willow Glen and her team. We stayed at Avalon Willow Glen for 4 years and really enjoyed our stay courtesy the very prompt and courteous maintenance team ( special mention for Andres the maintenance head and Andrew, always so helpful) and excellent customer service from Stephanie and her team. We hope you go far Stephanie cause you deserve it. Will recommend Avalon Willow Glen to anyone.
The community is well-maintained and handymen and Avalon staff are responsive and helpful. Robert Nowlin in the office is especially great- he knows the ins and outs and is always available to lend a hand with whatever I need.
Great community with phenomenal customer service. Maintenance always goes above and beyond the call of duty. Most of our experiences have been specifically with Andrew and Abel. These guys are not only excellent maintenance techs, but they also serve residents joyfully. The grounds are well kept. We really like our actual apartment home, too. Structure is good- we dont hear our neighbors. We also havent had too many maintenance issues, but when minor things come up they are taken care of promptly, professionally, and with a smile.
The Avalon Willow Glen has been an EXCELLENT place to live after how bad our last complex was. Since day one, Robert our leasing agent has gone above and beyond to make sure everything was done quickly efficiently and while still making us feel comfortable through the whole process. Anytime I need a new battery for my gate clicker or Im picking up a package I actually look forward coming into the office because everyone is always in a good mood. Rob is always cheerful and friendly and having conversations with you while he is helping you rather than having any awkward silences! This complex has different events that range from safety meetings to pizza parties which I think is pretty cool. Robert has made our stay so easy here that we renewed our lease without much thought. He even helped us to see how we could get the best price or if maybe we were interested in another unit. I would definitely recommend someone to live here who was looking for a 1-2 bedroom.
Special thanks to Jorge who is the most responsive maintenance person you could hope to find. Hes an outstanding member of the community. Which is maintained, quiet and provides excellent service for maintenance requests and helpful staff in the office.
Jorge has always done a great job with our service requests. He goes above and beyond to make sure the problem is not only fixed but prevented from happening again. Great guy.
I been living at Avalon Willow Glen for about 4 years, it is a nice and clean community, Mayesha is the best Manager!!!George is the maintenance guy, he knows what is he doing, very clean and respectful. I strongly recommend Avalon Willow Glen best place to live in.
Management will not resolve any issues. Expect to be brushed off, and left to struggle with problems in the community. The apartment is lovely, it is a shame that everything else is unmanageable.
I lived here for one year and it was a great experience. Nice living space for the money, great office staff, Jolynn and Rob are amazing, and maintenance always handle my request withing 24 hours!!!
Its been 1.5 years here in avalon willow glen . Maintenance requests are excellently taken care by Jorge. The staff is amazing and always very helpful with.
I love the fact that you just call and schedule maintenance for your apartment issues and you dont have to wait for a Honey Do list! It is done in a timely manner and correctly the first time
I havent received any answer yet.
I have been living in this community for 2 years. This is a good place, if you are looking for 12 month stay. My apartment rent has increased by $400 which is very steep and beats the purpose of staying far away from the IT Hub.
My experience with Avalon Willow Glen has been excellent so far. Jolynn provided outstanding support in helping us decide to rent at Avalon Willow Glen from Wisconsin, and made move-in a breeze. She went above and beyond in working with our situation and my wife and I are deeply grateful.Weve been in our unit for 2 weeks, and we bring our dog to say hi to Jolynn and the rest of management almost every day - they are very pet friendly here and are always happy to see our puppy Moose. The grounds are kept very nice, and people are very good about picking up pet waste - I have not seen any dog poo on the ground within the community.Maintenance requests are dealt with by professionals in a quick and respectful manner, and the people we have met within the community have been extremely nice. For being such a large community it is very quiet, and sits in a very nice part of San Jose that is only a short drive to 87.My wife and I are very impressed by Avalon Willow Glen, and have enjoyed our experience here so far.*Btw theres a Pokemon go gym at the management office - pretty cool if ur into that kinda thing*
Hopefully next year this will be my home :) I fell in love just by looking at the outside of them as I went for a walk with my daughter while waiting at the chevrolet dealership to get my car fixed :)
Lived here for a year. I had a horrible experience with the leasing staff (ROB/RON is a problem). Also, make sure you document everything that happens. I had to put in a work order 4 times before maintenance actually fixed my problem. Once they even had to contract out my work order and let the contractor (not involved with Avalon) walk off property with my house keys. Very unprofessional staff.
Rob is the best! He is always helpful whenever we need anything.
Maintenance and repair excellent job by Jorge thanks to whom the dishwasher is running as new again. Many thanks!
Jorge with maintinence fixed my A/C and dryer issues in a jiffy! He was so friendly and kind. Thanks so much!
Just an incredible place to live at. Most notably the staff, who listens and cares. They are great! Its a nice, quiet place to come home to after a hectic San Jose day.
Attentive and supportive front office and quick response times from the maintenance staff
