Rooms were so spacey! Lobby decor was adorable loved the coffee shop and bar, little pricey beverages but for reason. Location was great. Was able to walk the whole city. A cute breakfast spot a few steps outside of hotel, and a convenient store across the way.loved this hotel, looking forward to staying again.
Absolutely wonderful hotel!!! I really enjoyed my stay here. The bed was comfortable, the view amazing and the people at the bar and the front desk were so incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond.
Recently in SF for business, and the stay at The Clancy was beyond wonderful! Extremely courteous & helpful staff during my 3 day stay was outstanding. The room was spacious, yes even for SF! Their cafe provided tasty treats and coffee selections in the morning - such wonderful service! Definitely will be back - thank you!
We recently spent 3 days at this hotel and were completely satisfied. It is located in a convenient location to all the SF attractions. The room was comfortable and spacious. However, the most impressive part of our stay were Curt, Fortunato, and Daniel, the three bar tenders. They were great! Thanks guys for helping to make our first trip to the city a memorable one.
This is one of the best kept secrets of the area. Ill be staying here for business and personal travel in the future. The one thing that I will put is a partial negative is that the lobby is always busy and bustling with activity so if youre looking for something a little bit more on the quiet side, you may want to reconsider this one. However if you like to have a little life in the lobby, there is a coffee shop, a bar, and an outdoor seating area with fireplaces.
This is a very nice hotel in San Francisco, its a great location in SOMA thats close to the ball park, the ferry building, and a lot of things to do. The rooms are spacious and have a very comfortable bed.My only complaint and the reason for the deduction was that we booked a City King - High floor room with city view. The direction of the room faced out towards the bay (both sides of the building look towards parts of the city but this was definitely the bay side of the building) and we didnt have any sort of city view as we werent high enough. If we booked a standard king room, I wouldnt have any issues. But there was absolutely no point in booking a higher tier room if this is what we would get. Sure city view could mean look at an adjacent building, but I cant say Ive had a similar experience in many other large cities. There were quite a few floors above us as well, I would have assumed wed be on the top 33% of floors with that description.
The location was great and the renovated lobby and amenities were nice too. The room had nice decor, but seemed a little “Vegas-y”.I would’ve given at least 4 stars if it weren’t for the abrasive front desk staff. They were not very friendly at check-in. Another time I had a question and the gentleman at the desk seemed uninterested in helping and almost made me feel like I was disrupting him to ask a question. Not a fan of the staff, but the hotel is nicely remodeled.
Positive: The rooms were stylish and very functional. Views were decent too. Negative: After one meal, we avoided the onsight restaurant due to the low mediocre quality of the food and food prep. The restaurant is clearly not a priority for the Clancy. Also, we were close to the business district so it was like a ghost town after 5pm.
This hotel is seriously SO cool. They have awesome staff, and the lobby and rooms here are next level. Only issue is parking, pretty tricky and pricey in the area! Go to the corner liquor shop across the street and try to guess the employees home country, he might just give you a discount if you get it right! But this hotel is in an awesome area, and I really cant get over how cool Marriott Autograph collection hotel are.
Nice hotel with a fun and well-decorated lobby! There’s a coffee shop and a bar downstairs with indoor and outdoor seating. The only downside to staying here is the area around the hotel is pretty dead.
Super nice hotel staff, very friendly and such a beautiful an elegant hotel
I felt first class here 😎 My favorite part would have to be the breakfast pastries BUT you need to show up early because they sell out quick. The coffee is also awesome. One night, I bought a barrel-aged stout from the liquor store across the store to enjoy in the lobby while si worked on my laptop AND the bar-tender brought me a frosted glass and said “That beer is much better with a frosted glass.” Haha, it was awesome. Their customer service, obviously, is awesome and the rooms and lounging areas and super comfortable and well designed. Stay here!!
During my stay at The Clancy hotel I was quite disappointed with how things turned out. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed my time there but many things such as paying for wifi, having to ask for amenities such as a coffee maker should be given. I was quite impressed with the fitness center which is the only reason I give it a 2/5. There are also many hidden fees which raised my initial total from $390 to $520.
Beautiful and modern decor. Very comfortable and clean accommodations. No excessive noises, especially during the week. Security and luggage helpers always available.Cleaning staff is the best of all. Very polite and cordial. Tip worthy!Radiator Cafe is a bit pricey but very convenient. Wished they opened at 6am and not 7am. Fyi croissants rarely on time.Hotel is a good value but their security deposit regulations is confusing and too much. I ended up with 2 holds on my card amounting to $687.00 each for a 3 night stay. Little to no assistance when i decided to extend a fourth night.Nothing fab about the gym, functional. No pool but beautiful courtyard for gathering and relaxing.
Great experience. Valet service made parking a simplicity, although there is nearby parking as well. Service from the desk to the restaurants was fabulous! Great interior outdoor lounge/eating space. Kid loved it!
Great location near the 8, 14, and 30 bus stops for easy transit throughout the city. Accommodating and friendly staff. No continental breakfast and strange hours for the hotel cafe and bar. May be best visited post-COVID restrictions, but still a great stay
Clean, quiet hotel with good staff. Not much of a workout run for a Marroitt property. The breakfast options are pretty limited in the coffee shop. No elite lounge. The bar is a fairly popular place in the evenings with creative drinks and Kirks jokes.
Positive: The hotel renovation is beautiful but what made out trip wonderful was the staff. Everyone who works there seems to truly enjoy their job and want to help. It was a very, very pleasant stay. Negative: N/A
For a luxury experience, it sure didnt feel like it. The king room had a plastic bag wrapped around the fire alarm like someone was smoking in there? There was also a small stain on the bed sheet. Idk, staying at a normal Marriott probably would have been a better experience. Would not recommend at this price. (Which does have quite a few hidden fees)
Hotel valet was non existent when we pulled up, unloaded our own bags and made our way in with two small children. For 80 dollars per day, that is not even close to how things should start. Front counter checkin was easy, friendly folks... Lobby is weird, I did not find it hit the mark, almost like a low grade art gallery. One of the elevators was broken out of 4, just dark, yellow sign that said out of service.Room was nice, well designed, clean. Pull out couch had a broken mattress that totally collapsed when the kids made their bed for the night. Roll away was brought up after calling front desk.Stayed one night. Coffee bar had a long line, by 0830 they were out of most pastries so I took the last croissant. Terrible, stale, likely frozen and thawed out. Paid 44 dollars for 2 coffee drinks, fruit cup and couple of pastries.... All in all, staff was nice but would not return for reasons above. Bar by the way.... People commenting that its a nice bar? Far from it... Very underwhelming. My home bar has more bottles and looks nicer... Just dont expect a cool bar thats all!
This is several steps above a Marriott hotel chain. The staff is attentive, rooms are very clean, location is great, prices are reasonable. Highly recommend this property.
Hands down the best option south of market. Rooms are comfortable with a unique (is it 80s or 90s style? :) Deducting a star for the poor restaurant food/dinner and charging for wifi. The hotel is overpriced as is -- wifi should, of course, be free regardless of where you book.
Nice renovation of a Courtyard Marriott. The restaurant and coffee shop are decent, welcoming and efficient staff. Not a fan of the room decor, but the beds are comfortable.
Positive: It¿s as solid as they come. Good hotel, good people, good vibe, it¿s all good. Negative: The A/C could work better, but I¿m a freak and sometimes like a North Pole feel. Most everyone else will be fine and I was for the most part. But darn it, when I want Arctic, I want it now!
Positive: Clean. Very nice, spacious rooms. Staff very friendly. Negative: Costs $80 per day to park your car.
Loved this modern, eclectic hotel in the heart of San Francisco, with super easy access to public transport. The Montgomery Street station is just a few blocks down the street so it’s easy to access the BART to head to SFO airport as well as the Muni metro to numerous places around the city. Additionally, the F Streetcar line as well as a bus stop is right by the BART Station. The staff was super friendly and helpful, check-in was fast, housekeeping was fast and efficient, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious with a nice shower, with comfortable amenities such as a fluffy bathrobe and towels. Id definitely stay again!
Worth the stay. The staff were all accommodating. Theres a bar at the lobby and a very spacious outside are where you could hang with friends while socially distanced. It is in the heart of downtown. Almost everything is at a walking distance. Would definitely recommend this place when you come down to SF.
Positive: Front desk staff very friendly Negative: Room service left garbage in room. There is no bar or food option between noon and 5pm. Very no frills aside from lobby which is only ok in person. 15+ mins away from any nightlife. For business stays only.
Positive: They let us check in early. The staff was amazing and the hotel itself was super clean.
Great place to stay in downtown SF. 🤘The room was awesome, the view spectacular, and everything else about the hotel, was nice and inviting. We got to use the photo booth, enjoyed a couple of drinks on the patio where theres a great patio to spend some time with your party.Ill definitely be back, although Ill probably choose to do parking differently as it was $75 just for valet parking.Otherwise, a great stay! 💜👍
Rave reviews on this new hotel! Thank you for providing a great stay!
Positive: Cleanliness Negative: Customer service. Room was missing the bathrobe. I told the front desk as I was leaving for dinner, they apologized and confirmed they¿ll send one there. They never did!
The stay was ok only because there was a bed and four walls. The ONLY saving grace to this hotel is that Marriott has employed a fantastic employee named Leah. Her colleagues on the other hand could not be less interested in the hospitality industry. From incorrect information about the housekeeping procedures at check-in to the most confusing and downright sketchy billing practice of ANY Marriott Property ive ever stayed in. Begging for fresh towels and linens. etc etc. We only finally received some assistance once Leah stepped in after we were fed up and ready to go to another hotel. So much so that I am ready to end my relationship with the Marriott Group Would highly suggest you pay the extra couple of bucks and stay at the JW Marriott.
Clean and updated, this beautiful hotel is not only convenient, it is so charming. The staff is kind and generous. The rooms are beautiful and accommodating. The atmosphere is chic and high end. I am so glad I ended up here and would love to come back again.
Very nice hotel - has the entire mobile check in so we were able to get our room and everything done on the bonvoy app ahead of time. We made it to the hotel and went straight to our room with the mobile key! Very nice amenities and a great location! Clean and well kept!
The hotel was very modern and decorated beautifully for the holidays. The staff was very welcoming and made wonderful suggestions. The food at their lobby restaurant was amazing too!Brenda was working the front desk making sure everyone was happy and safe! She provided great customer service and if you ever have any questions or concerns, she’s more than happy to address them. Def coming back.
I stayed here at the end of July 2021 for 3 nights. It was very much a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean, the rooms were turned when we requested it, the valet was prompt and all of the workers were very friendly and helpful.Everytime we pulled up in our car, a valet came to help us very promptly. When leaving, you can text the valet ahead of time and our car was waitin for us. Very convienent.I brought my own hot water heater since I knew ahead of time that there are no coffee makers in the room. I also asked the front desk if they had a microwave for our room which they did and was sent right up. Ice machine is located on the 7th floor. The rooms looked exactly like the pictures. The TVs have a HDMI hookup where you can connect things like a laptop, phone, tablet or game system right to it and play it on the screen. They also have Netflix and Amazon Prime apps built in, you just need to login with your own credentials. My only gripe is that there is really nothing to eat here, but there are plenty of places walking distance.
Great experience, just dont linger by the fire pits too long, if you dont order a drink. They will ask you to move.
Our stay was sweet. I loved the interior design of the hotel. The decor was modern and artsy and with so much to catch your eye. I recommend this place to young adults who are traveling to get a feel for San Francisco artsy vibes within the comfort of your stay! The staff was also very respectful.
The rooms are very nice and most likely updated. They seem to be on the cozy side but overall a great room. The lobby is spacious and inviting.
Nice and fancy everything. Room services and parking are perfect. Front desk and kitchen so as all the employee are friendly and kind. Love this hotel very much. Spent almost 3months due to this pandemic COVID 19
Very cool and in a nice part of San Francisco. Great walking distance to Oracle Park!
Excellent!! Only one thing we werent told about our room being cleaned, we werent told to call housekeeping ahead so our room would be cleaned! There should have been free coffee!
Positive: The front desk is good about handling the issues I had in my original room Negative: The original room had dog hair, smelly carpet and ants. The second room also wasn¿t that clean, there was hair on the robe. The carpet seemed like it wasn¿t vacuumed. But after the housekeeping comes in the next day, at least it got cleaned up prop
The Clancy Autograph Collection sounds perfect in theory. Its in downtown San Francisco, but The Clancy is not a place I would choose to spend my vacation again. I stayed here for 4 days and the air conditioner never worked. I stayed on the 18th floor. Hello, heat rises. The room was unbearable. Even opening the windows could not get that room to a pleasant temperature. It was more refreshing on the street than in my hotel room. I stayed in a double room with my friend and we were cramped. There was one tiny closet in the bathroom for both of us. We had to live out of our luggage. Our room had a large sofa, but the way it was positioned was inaccessible for us to use at the same time. Our mini fridge was lukewarm and had a packet of ranch left by the last guest. The interior design of the lounge area was an eyesore. There was no consistency in style. For a hotel that advertised sophistication, luxury and modernity, it seemed like a college dorm. The staff was inconsistent about their social distance policies. I and many other guests ate freely in the common areas. My final day at the Clancy I was rudely told by a staff member that eating in the common area was not permitted even though I have eaten there my entire 4 day stay with no issues and there were no signs in place to discourage gathering there. Overall my trip to San Francisco was good, but The Clancy did not contribute to that.
The hotel environment is good, fancy and clean. One huge negative thing is there is no any info about the parking on the official website, and when we arrived there, the parking became $75 per night, which is much higher than average in SF downtown.I think the hotel is playing game by lower the hotel stay price to attract users to book, and then hide the parking info. And eventually use rising parking fee to make balance of lowering the hotel price.
My stay at The Clancy was amazing! The staff, the room and vibe were exceptional! Huge shoutout to Kengi(hope I spelled it right) Alex and Robert, you all were amazing and made my stay great! We need more people like you all in this world!
Positive: The Clancy exceeded my expectations on every level. Every single staff member from front desk to security to engineering were incredibly kind and attentive. I would definitely recommend the Clancy to anyone!
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was perfect! The staff were friendly and accommodating. We checked in after a long day of sightseeing and exploring the city. The vibe was beautiful and modern. We had plans to go out for dinner, but opted to try out the hotel restaurant and bar. The food and drinks were AMAZING! The main course menu was a short list so we didn’t know what to expect. We were not disappointed. Excellent quality in presentation and taste! We are definitely planning to come back stay on our next trip to SF.
Terrible service bad location, dont waste your time with this one.
Nice place and clean. The valet member that helped us was really nice.
Positive: Newly remodeled with deluxe bedding/towels and walk in shower. Housekeeping cleaned our room perfectly everyday. Negative: No coffee/tea service
Friendly staff, beautifully decorated rooms and spaces. Will definitely be back:).
Amazing place, nice views from upper floor, 4 star because no pool, & parking too expensive
Jebb, Robert, Alex made my stay fantastic they were very caring and made sure I was happy from the time I booked till the time I checked out.Cleanroom, nice staff great valet parking, the remodel is absolutely gorgeous, this would be my first choice when I visit San Francisco.
Valet parking was a little difficult when backed up. Otherwise, it was great.
Check in was slow the person at the front desk didnt seem to know any answers to my questions. When we got to our room we realized there was only one bed(our reservation was for two beds). We were told that they were out of rooms and that they couldnt do anything about it.
Affordable modern luxury. I will definitely be back!
Nice clean hotel in a great location.
Loved this hotel. I would highly recommend. Great bar and outside firepit. Great rooms.
Customer service is clearly not their priority. I have had rude/condescending interactions from multiple staff members. It felt like I was back at college dealing with RA’s in the dorms.....It’s not what you say people, it’s how you say it. I’m not your child. I’m a paying guest and you chose to work in hospitality! And let’s not even get started on the decor of the hotel, what an eye sore! The lobby and lounge area looks like a cheap hostel. Their furniture pieces looked either donated or found on the street. The guest rooms are not much better. The use of space is disappointing. It was so cramped! Why is the closet in the bathroom for guests clothes to get mildewed? And there were no other storage areas to store clothes. So we were forced to live out of our suitcases for the duration of our stay. The sink was the size of the sinks in guest rooms on cruises. There was no place to hang the hand towel we used to dry our hands. There was no fan in the bathroom. The room was hot and there’s no real accommodations for that. The bed linen and mattresses are cheap and hard. It’s literally the worst sleep I’ve gotten in my life. It wasn’t at all comfortable. I’ll never return.
Great location in downtown San Francisco. Dont pay the $70 per day parking fee because there is a self parking lot 1/2 block away. Love the heavenly beds at all Autograph Collection hotels. Clean and safe precautions during Covid.
Positive: The staff is excellent!! Negative: It is a great hotel. We will stay here again.
Positive: The ambience and the decor. Negative: Around 11:45 pm, the hotel had a fire alarm set off and had us evacuate and stand outside for about and hour without any clear direction or guidance on what was going on. It was Valentine¿s Day and needless to say or night was somewhat ruined.
They know how to treat out of town guess. Will stay here again.
Nice hotel great staff and Valet service. Parking available for $75. Room was great clean and comfortable.
Positive: the location the room cleanliness and staff was amazing Negative: No free parking very high price to parking costs 75 per night!
Positive: The food they served and drinks were the best things about the hotel. Negative: I really had hope the bathroom would have had a bathtub along with a shower.
Positive: It was close to downtown Negative: No room service and parking prices were crazy. We parked elsewhere.
Negative: Parking/Valet staff watched me enter without assisting me with numerous bags. It was odd and difficult to manage
Wonderful Hotel with excellent & dedicated staff. Stayed for 2 nights with 2 kids, would absolutely recommend and or book again
Beautiful artistic decor, spacious and modern bathrooms, the outdoor space was lovely to sit with a beverage with our kids. The staff up front was a bit grumpy, but it didnt negatively impact our stay.
Positive: Cleanliness was top notch Negative: Valet is $85 a day..
Amazing hotel, great views. Very friendly staff.
The Clancy opened just about a week ago and is a great new option in San Francisco. Formerly the Courtyard San Francisco, the property has been transformed into a very modern and inviting hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Its worth noting that the hotels location makes it more suitable to business travelers. Most San Francisco tourist attractions are located a fair distance away.
Positive: Everything Negative: Nothing . Everything and everyone was great
Positive: The staff was very helpful and very nice and always had a smile. Negative: Not really this is the second time Ive stayed here and I enjoy it every single time.
Great decor and beautiful rooms
In and out. Love tha staff tho
Great staff nice rooks comfortable beds
Needed a Guinness and didnt want to deal with the waits, staff was great corned beef grilled cheese was delicious. Washed down with a Guinness.
Pricey pricey pricey!! And It cost 75 dollars a night for parking!!
How are the rooms being sold here is so disgusting. Bad security people make them look so ugly!
If I could give zero stars I would horrible customer service passive aggressive attitudes. Unclean rooms
Just wonderful...very nice people working here.
Very clean rooms. Very clean and modern hotel. Super nice employees! Will be staying here again! Brenda (I believe that was her name) was amazing to us! After having such a horrible week, upon arrival, she made me feel as if it was my lucky day! She let me open the 12th day for the Christmas advent calendar, she picked me to put special treats in both of my rooms, she even upgraded the 2nd room that I had and gave us connecting rooms on the highest floor (amazing view). We had issues with parking, but she told us that if we decided to park on the street, to not go as far as a block away because break-ins have been happening a lot lately; we ended up doing valet which was about $85, but we were able to sleep at night knowing that our car was not going to get broken into. The courtyard was really nice, even during COVID my family was able to go grab dinner and eat it out there safely. The walls arent thin at all, which is amazing.
Amazing Decor. Wonderful experience. The art installations in the lobby and the style of each room is impeccable.
Very clean. Very quiet. Very nice place.
Positive: Location Negative: No
The internet went down for a few day. Friendly staff. Artsy rooms.
Beautiful new up and coming boutique hotel!
Great remodel. So much of the hotel is shut due to covid but cant blame them for that. Beautiful rooms. Expansive lobby. Located in a ok spot in SoMa.
Great location, beautiful rooms, clean, friendly and helpful staff, fabulous coffee bar that has everything
Positive: Spacious
