Dont forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ .ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a hotel. They compare hundreds of booking web sites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is one of my favorites in the area. Ive been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you definitely will love it Im sure!Rooms were very clean and spacious. Housekeeping did a great job. Staff are all super friendly. At check-in we were given a goodie bag with wine and chocolates. Valet was very responsive. Overall, a great place to stay!
We like to stay at AC hotels when we can. The hotel lobby and bar is decorated beautifully. The staff was courteous and helpful. We enjoyed having breakfast there in the morning. However, the rooms are a bit too dated and just didnt have a wow factor like the lobby. The rooms were clean but we noticed broken tiles, chipped/falling paint. Hotel was nice but rooms were a little disappointing. I think we may try another hotel out next time.
The bar for “Autograph Collection” keeps getting lower and lower. You stay at one in Omaha and it’s gorgeous, and then stay at one in San Francisco and it’s awful. When the brand first launched with Marriott, there were clear brand standards. Today, it’s diluted and a very low bar.-1-Want to park a car? Good luck. They only have a certain allotment of parking. They’ll tell you “there is a parking lot a few blocks away if you want to park there.”-2-Bathrooms on or with the Holiday Inn. Showers are step-in bathtubs. Tile is that you would find in an industrial kitchen. No water pressure.-3-Maybe it’s just a sign of the times, but the customer service at so many “luxury” hotels is awful. There is no attempt to help customers - particularly at this hotel. If you are struggling with your luggage with two kids, expect the front desk staff and security to stare at you. Want to ask a question? Don’t ask the security guard surfing the internet. The bottom floor is modern and likely appealing to what was suppose to be the Autograph Collection’s brand standards - but the remainder of the hotel, there is much left to be desired.
Positive: Its closeness to Union Square and its cleanliness. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful. Negative: The price for valet parking was very high. I understand paying to park but that was the highest amount I have ever paid in San Francisco.
I was just in San Francisco for my birthday and Mother’s Day weekend for the first time and was unsure where to stay. I am a Marriott member and I seen this Hotel in my Marriott app and booked the stay.I am glad I did. The hotel was located close to Union Square, Nob Hill and Chinatown was all within walking distance to explore while working out.The front door to the entrance was beautiful and there was a fresh smell upon entering the lobby. The customer service was perfect.I would also like to thank Kevin, Joanna and Troy for the birthday gift. (It is the thought that counts)Kevin also educated me on the history of the hotel and the area. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.I will definitely stay at this location upon a return trip to San Francisco.
Good service, amazing breakfast service downstairs! The room service is a little spotty and the appliances in the rooms are a bit strange (we have to unplug and replug the mini fridge to unlock it, staffs instructions).Over all, good place to stay with a few things that keep it from being five star.
Rooms were very clean and spacious. Housekeeping did a great job. Staff are all super friendly. At check-in we were given a goodie bag with wine and chocolates. Valet was very responsive. Overall, a great place to stay!
We are having a great time. This hotel provides a less hectic environment than larger hotels, and we have been impressed by the staff. Its ideal for smaller meetings. Very comfortable.
I wouldnt say category 7, more like a 5, BUT THE service is top notch, the general manager who lives on site is super nice and service oriented and makes sure each and every single client is satisfied to the best of his ability. I cannot tell you how pleased that I am with the customer service.. but hotel just started up again, hopefully they will get all the kinks out.
Lovely boutique hotel, asked for a feather free room and got it with no problem. At some of the larger Marriott hotels I have had to wait while the room was properly cleaned
I requested a down-free room which they didnt provided. I called the front desk and they were unable to resolve the problem adequately until the next day which caused me to have a horrible asthma attack which interfered with my vacation. They were sympathetic but would not redress the problem. Then to add insult to injury, when I got home I found out I had been overcharged. To their credit, they did finally correct this problem. I have always been a big fan of Marriott. This experience caused me to doubt my fandom. I wont stay in one of their autograph collection hotels again and at least for a while wont stay at Marriott.
Positive: Beautiful rooms, great staff! Provided free bottled water and coffee in the lobby. Room was comfortable and stylish. Shower was excellent!
Cons:They add a $200 charge without letting you know prior, wasnt clear why they do this besides it being a policy that isnt shared during booking or check inThe bar was closedNo balconies or terrace, or free parkingRoom was smaller than photos showedPros:Very clean stayIf you needed something they brought it within minutesAmazing veiwGreat location
The hotel is very nice and the staff is very helpful. The only downside is the outside. It is about 2 blocks from Union Square but it the surrounding area was kind of trashy. Be prepared also for expensive valet parking.
Its a good place.... But I was expecting to be wowd... Impressed. Ive stayed at several autograph hotels. Its a fine place, the location is good for walking around. The building is well maintained.
A friend is staying here and enjoyed visiting. The rooms are nice in size and the bathroom actually has a fan! Would love to stay in the future.
The staff is amazing. The adherence to covid restrictions was so appreciated. My only complaint was that in 9 days we did not receive housekeeping services. We weren’t warned at the beginning of our stay but we’re asked for preferred time frames as housekeeping was reduced and it was a holiday weekend. We give a little grace for staffing difficulties post covid but would have liked a heads up. But we had to call for trash bags and fresh towels and toilet paper. I’m an autograph hotel we should not have to do that. Even after informing the desk we hadn’t had service they did not rectify it. That was my sole frustration and the rest of our experience was wonderful
This hotel isnt worth the price. Youll have a better experience at a Holiday-Inn-style hotel. We booked through Costco Travel, which gave us free valet service. I cant imagine how disappointed I would be if I had to pay for that as well. Our room had terrible water pressure in the shower. No fan in the bathroom. Low quality soaps.Upon arrival, we were asked if we wanted housekeeping. We said yes, between 11a and 2p. They only showed up on the second day we were there (during a weeklong trip). After 3 straight days without service, I explicitly requested it, but they still never showed up.The room has no microwave or coffee maker. No ice machines; you have to request ice from the front desk. The fridge is a mini-bar with nothing in it.Bed was quite uncomfortable. Bring ibuprofen. The room has A/C but it wasnt strong enough and the room stayed fairly warm.Parking is valet-only. Valet service is good and timely, but its expensive. The hotel is not in a nice part of town.Ultimately, I wish I had chosen a different hotel. Its hard to believe this is part of a Signature Collection of any kind. Ive had better experiences at many hotels at half the price. We were happy with their COVID-19 practices and mask-wearing throughout the staff. Plenty of hand sanitizing stations.
Everyone was extremely helpful and catered to our every need. The rooms were great and the beds were comfortable. All in all a great place to stay!!
Positive: The staff went the extra mile at every turn. Thank you
Very nice hotel even though the bar was still closed. Our closet smelled
Centrally located, beautiful hotel, spacious rooms, complementary coffee. Valet parking is $70/ per night.
Excellent service from staff, they even upgrade our room because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Building is a little out dated but the service and great attitude greatly compensates everything!!
Couldn’t even get anyone on the phone to ask a simple question if they have a roof top bar and it was open. Got put on hold forever then hung up on. From what I hear it seems rundown and they lost my business before they even got it.
I can’t help but use profanity when describing my one-night stay at the Hotel Adagio.Remembering the commercials that played for the Marriott’s Autograph Collection of Hotels, I was beyond disappointed when expectation met reality. First off, the temporary valet parking area was packed with empty, parked cars. When we came into the check-in lobby to find the valet attendant, he was no where to be found. Guest Services had to call a valet in to assist which took a few minutes of waiting. One positive was the courteous and responsive customer service we received, everyone I encountered was extremely kind and happy to help, so I was still optimistic about our stay at this point, seeing how nice (albeit empty) the lobby and bar area was on first impression. Then, it went downhill from there. I stayed in one of the low-end standard king rooms “with a view,” the view was a very dirty (San Francisco) valet parking lot and an alley way, beyond that a limited view of the San Francisco skyline that included no landmarks, just a few hotels and businesses. The room was poorly attended by House Keeping... there was a clothes hanger on a light fixture and there was a Walgreens bag over the smoke detector which was hanging loosely by its wires. Also the refrigerator, which is the Casino-type of locking fridge with sensitivity panels for high-priced snacks, although empty, was the impossible to open. We left it alone for an hour and revisited, finally opening the fridge to find it was barely cold, maybe a degree or 2 below room-temperature. We called Guest Services to notify them of the smoke detector, the fridge, and to ask about an ice dispenser, we were told that we’d have to come to the lobby to get an ice bucket. When I arrived back at the lobby, I realized the hotel bar was closed... at 11 on a Saturday night (let’s chalk that up to San Francisco’s strict COVID-19 restrictions though.)A few more things I observed throughout the night: there is a loud buzzing sound coming from outside the room I found impossible to ignore throughout the night, closing windows and shades did not help. The TV guide was non-functional and many channels didn’t work anyway. The shower water pressure was extremely high and the flow was extremely low resulting in a sort of painful hydraulic needle effect. A towel rack literally just fell off the side of the bathroom counter when I grabbed a towel from it.I’d give this place half a star if I could. Save your money and stay at a chain-hotel for a better price and experience.
I wish I could rate this awful hotel 0. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had bar none. There is virtually no AC in the rooms, front desk is either incompetent or not particularly bright, rooms are dimly lit, carpets are dirty. I cannot think of a single good thing about this place besides its location, which is also tarnished/made irrelevant by its price tag. Look elsewhere.
It was a good place was expecting a little bigger room for the amount they charged. No in room beverages.
Convenient location from the airport and I am so amazed at the service here. The breakfast buffet is amazing and provides so many western dishes. Kevin provides us with spectacular service and very attentive to our needs. We enjoyed the quiet stay in our hotel room with clean sheets and towels. WiFi is also very fast. We look forward to staying here again in the future!
Fantastic hotels with friendly, helpful, and excellent service! I have never had any issues staying at this hotel and trust me, I have stayed there a lot. They take care of their customers and upgrade you whenever possible and seem to go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as they can!
Depending on what room they give you this could be a great experience or a bad one. The hotel itself has a great style to it. Great location and the variety of breakfast options was a nice plus. Unfortunately it is right next to a bar with a large patio. If your room is on that side of the building you will not get the restful sleep you would like, even with the great Marriott Mattress.
Great Hotel. Jorge is the best!
Positive: Nice architecture Negative: No food. Beverage. Or snack $70/night parking
Beautiful room’s, clean and comfortable, I would stay again
Pleasant stay. Nothing special.
This is a great hotel with just an easy, short walk to Union Square. Theatres are also pretty much across the street. We are a family of 4 (me, my husband, and 2 teenage boys - 16 and 13). This hotel is very comfortable and clean. The rooms are a decent size with nice decor. The food is very good . We’ve had both room service and breakfast which is wonderful! Bar area was also very comfortable to have drinks before going out.
The hotel has a classic Hollywood feel with elements of Art Deco throughout the building. It is located within walking distance of Union Square and BART, San Francisco’s rail system, along with local restaurants and bars. The rooms are maintained and adequate size for a San Francisco hotel. Each of the rooms are decorated with early 20th century era pictures and elements. There are mini bars stocked with drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks on top of the bar. Be careful not to remove the snacks as the items have sensors that bill your room. The bathrooms are small, but well designed to meet the limited spacing of the area. Overall, the Adagio is a departure from your normal Marriott hotel, but a welcome for those seeking a unique hotel feel,
Loved my 5 night business trip at this hotel. Was treated very well without intrusions. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Green Choice worked well. Breakfast was very fast, especially for sit down. Mortimors Bar in the lobby draws some nice locals. Enjoyed everyone I met from the front desk, to the servers, to the local patrons. I wish I had worked out, but I was enjoying the leisure too much. Also, great location for walking to Union Square. I was walking to Salesforce Tower everyday, nice flat 20 minute walk. Great stay!
Positive: Customer service was excellent
Great hotel with an updated look and feel. Close to food, entertainment and shopping. Clean and comfortable with good size rooms. Food and valet available on site. NOTE: Dogs are allowed in this hotel and unfortunately the one next door to us barked ALL night. Beds were comfortable and staff and friendly and helpful. Despite several small issues I would still recommend this hotel.
Rude. Like most of San Francisco, it was overstated and poor quality. The service and experience was bad and even dirty. A huge disappointment.
We arrived at the hotel and were immediately offered water and quickly checked into our room with luggage that followed very quickly. The rooms were clean, nice sized and quiet. The location of the property was great with fun bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the property along with great shopping at Union Square. I highly recommend this property to others.
This is a nice urban hotel with a FANTASTIC location. Union Square and several theaters are both minutes away. Biscuits and Blues (nice intimate blues joint) is right around the corner. Powell St. cable car line also close. If you have a car, the fact that you are right on Geary is great - you can go straight west all the way to Ocean Beach if you wish. Very nice breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the bar as well, though we did not have dinner at Mortimers. There are a TON of restaurants within walking distance.Staff was helpful, though many were relatively new to SF - we knew more about some of the are and attractions than they did - but everyone was VERY friendly and helpful. Additionally, the staff went out of their way to recognize our Marriott Rewards level and benefits.Room was clean and quiet, and hotel was very safe.Since we live in the Bay Area, we very rarely stay in SF at a hotel overnight (this was a couple days away for New Years). If we are in the city late in the future and decide to stay over, we will definitely go back to the Adagio.
Beautiful, funky, modern lobby. The staff was so nice and attentive from the bellman to the front desk to the mini restaurant.Love the vintage vibe. The guest rooms had great big picture windows with views and very large according to a city hotel standard, but seems that they could use an update. They seemed a little dated.
I thought the rooms were really lovely, not to mention, roomy. The front desk staff was terrific. I could not believe how good the breakfast was (generally a hotel breakfast is pretty mediocre)! And the waiters in the restaurant were accommodating, they got my (somewhat specific) order correct, AND it was FAST! (The only complaint is the chairs are too low for the tables, its almost comical!) Its nice to have a bar in the hotel and the bartender and service staff were kind. I was just really really impressed. I travel to NYC most often in my work travels and this was such a step up from a comparably priced hotel in NY. Thank you!
Loved the design of the hotel considering how old the building is. Rooms were clean. Staff super friendly and helpful. Only issue I had was parking in the area. Front unloading zone was full and I had to go around the block 7 times. Neighborhood is borderline tenderloin. But overall safe.
The hotel was a terrific spot for a birthday weekend. It’s close to Union Square and a quick Lyft or Uber ride to all the city’s hot spots. I can’t say enough about the friendly, helpful staff. And the decor is chic and cozy. If you can get a corner room, the views are fabulous!
Great breakfast!
Centrally located! Has very thin walls so, you can hear everything happening around you and the old elevators are mildly terrifying, but overall the staff is wonderful and attentive. The lobby and rooms are beautiful and modern. The bed is on the softer side, but overall a good little hotel. Enjoyed our stay!
The reception staff are very kindly when I arrived. They treated the guests as family, and I enjoyed the stay very much. I have been in SF more than 20 times, it is the best hotel I stayed here. The room is big enough and with design. Thanks for your hosting.
Great service!
Greatness: Great looking Hotel. Has its on uniqueness. Very nice interior decor and cool vibe at the lobby. Looks very upscale. Walking distance to the mall, other shops, bars, and restaurants. The parking is ridiculously hard to find but they also have a parking garage/area (if you like). The rooms are gorgeously put together. It has a mid century modern look. There was cool frames on the wall, Bed was comfy and the bathroom was cute. The room had a walk-in closet with a bathrobe (loved that). They had a mini bar in the room but it was highly price so we didnt partake in any of it.The bad: I would give this hotel five stars but we were visited by ants. Something Ive never seen in a nice hotel. Then the staff kept asking us if we had left our sweets. So now its my fault. Ive never in any experience had to worry about food in my room and get ants (a little disappointing).
This hotel is part of the Marriott Hotel Collection. The hotel features a throwback setting to the early days of Hollywood that blends with San Francisco. The space is tight, but fits San Francisco style. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you go past the elevators to the back of the lobby, there is a Hollywood like film settings. The rooms are reasonably sized as space is concerned in San Francisco. Each room is designed with a throwback to the early days of Hollywood. The room I had was stocked with candies, nuts, and drinks (outside and inside the refrigerator. All items are billed to your account if taken. Be careful as the items in the fridge are sensor pressured and billed to your room. The location of the hotel is within walking of Union Square and many bars and restaurants that are local fare. There are art galleries and theatres nearby for the cultured.
I stayed at the Hotel Adagio for a conference in March 2019. Staff were all nice, and the room was clean and spacious. I enjoyed the complimentary coffee and lemon water in the lobby and appreciated the option to forego daily room service when not needed.Internet and television options werent great, however. Slow wifi speeds coupled with a meager channel selection made working and lounging less convenient. And that minibar is way overpriced (a common hotel complaint no matter where you go). The gym had a variety of machines and weights, along with a water cooler for hydration.Experienced a billing issue that caused some room charges to be incorrectly billed to myself and a colleague. Untangling the mess took a few days and multiple conversations (and a week later the charges are still showing as pending on my statement). But everyone was friendly and mostly helpful in getting the problem worked out.Overall, our stay was fine. Would consider coming back.
The hotel is in an excellent location near Union Square. We enjoyed the hotel a lot as we like boutique style hotels, and the Adagio was just that - not the typical large Marriott property (they are nice, but much more of a small boutique hotel feel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had theater tickets for Cabaret and we were in walking distance to a great little Italian restaurant for dinner and the theater afterwards. Nice being able to walk to everything. The room was spacious for this type of San Francisco hotel Bed was very comfortable, and we were in a quiet corner room not facing any busy streets, as we had requested. The price was reasonable for an upscale property (we would rate the property as about 3.5 stars).
I have stayed here the last 3 times I have traveled to San Francisco and I plan to continue to do so both for business and leisure. Everytime I stay, I am greeted like a valued guest and have been upgraded to the penthouse (Stone Suite) level twice! The front desk staff, bar/dining staff including the service staff are all on the same page with their shared commitments to delivering excellent service! This property is located near Union Square (shopping/dining) and within walking distance to the financial district where I conduct business. The Hotel Adagio is hitting the mark in creating a boutique style experience without compromising on quality SF style!
I am Marriott rewards member and I would say our stay at Hotel Adagio was a great one. The hotel itself is in a great location close to attractions, public transport and plenty of restaurants/bars. The hotel was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful whenever needed. I appreciated that there was water and coffee avaliable in the lobby at all times! It is definetly not a luxury hotel, but if youre like us and just looking for a clean comfortable place to lay your head after a day of exploring a new city this is the place for you. My only complaint would be when I booked the hotel almost 5 months before our stay it was one price, when I checked the week before our trip prices had dropped significantly and I had never been notified. I then cancelled my booking and rebooked saving over $350. This is likely more a Marriott issue as opposed to a Hotel Adagio issue but it seemed quite sneaky. You would hope as a rewards member you would be notified of price drops. I will be sure to always double check prices from now on. Overall Hotel Adagio was great and I would recommend it to anyone staying in the San Fran area!
3 nights in SFO for work. A bit frustrated with the hotel rates in the city in general for being so high, I opted for Adagio based on a prior stay here and its location close to my meetings. It was the right decision in every respect. It had been at least 3 years since my last visit and I was expecting the hotel to be nice, but perhaps the rooms a bit small and worn from age. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel was quite up to-date, the lobby and bar area, while not huge, were very comfortable and stylish. I was given a corner room which was lovely - beautifully decorated, large and exceptionally clean. Housekeeping was a highlight of my stay, they did an excellent job!! The staff was beyond helpful, friendly and kind. From the valet to the front desk to the waitstaff in the dining room to the bar tenders, everyone was just wonderful. While there may be no inexpensive places to stay in SFO any more, the money that was spent on hotels for this trip was well worth it and I would certainly do it again next time.
I had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Adagio in late March for the first time and I was very impressed. The staff was wonderful in terms of their positive and helpful attitudes. The concierge Anthony truly added to my experience with advance arrival help, car rental coordination, and restaurant recommendations. This hotel property is truly representative of Autograph Collection, in fact I feel it exceeds the stature. The rooms were specious, comfortable and very clean. Like any city hotel you need to be aware of your surroundings and the hotel staff was very helpful in recommending areas of the city to visit versus stay clear of. The staffs insight made me feel adventurous and safe. I highly recommend this hotel and will return when in San Francisco for fun and work.
Lovely, conveniently located hotel near the heart of San Francisco. Staff was professional and accommodating. All of the hotel amenities were complete and well maintained. Very convenient to innumerable excellent restaurants for breakfast and dinner.
Room was very clean and modern. All expected amenities were in the room and fully functional. If traveling with a pet, be sure to bring your own bowls as they are not provided. Also be prepared to walk a little ways to find some green space for your pet to relieve himself. Would highly recommend the hotel and would stay again.
Older hotel but still modern. Staff is friendly and they remember names. The restaurant has great happy hour options. My kid really like the wings. I recommend the deviled eggs.
The staff of this hotel deserve a great deal of praise as they were all so helpful and nice! The GM was seemingly always around and such a nice guy. If we needed anything, all we needed to do was ask and they would make it happen pretty quickly. The rooms are small but comfortable and the lobby offers free water, coffee and tea 24/7 (we even had hot apple cider that was delicious!), as well as cookies. The bar staff is great and the food and drinks at happy hour are really good - absolutely try the garlic fries at The Mortimer! For anyone looking for completely brand new, you have to understand that this is a historic building that has been renovated - and they did a great job making it look very modern and updated on the inside. All in all, it was a great stay and we would stay again based on service alone.
This hotel get like home. The staff is amazing. I feel like I am a member of the family. I will be back. I have found my new go to hotel in San Fran!
There are better Marriott properties in San Fransisco. Remodeled rooms dont do enough to save face of this property. Staff was wonderful. Not worth the cost. Be ready for slow morning elevators as they are slow and there are only two.
The hotel service is fantastic. It was a delightful check-in experience. The bar and restaurant had an energetic bar tender and guacamole worth trying. My wife and I opted to pay more for a corner room promising more views of the city which did not pay off. The views consisted of a brick wall and alley way. There is plenty within walking distance to see and do.
We were visiting SFO from Canada and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The staff were very polite with always a smile on their face. They try to accommodate your requests without any hassle. The room is nice and clean.
My daughter and I were taking a roadtrip in the Southwest and San Francisco was on the list. In what has to be one of the most expensive cities in the world, it is really hard to find a decent hotel at a digestable price (forget affordable, its impossible). I booked the Adagio hotel just a few hours prior to our arrival in SF through the Marriott app and we checked in in the afternoon. The building is nothing spectacular but the interior is very nice and staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking is an issue in SF and the Adagio only offers valet parking (~60 dollars) - which is kind of frustrating, because the parking lot is right across the street and you basically pay for nothing much. Our room was spacious and very nicely decorated, we felt at home right away. I had some drinks and snacks at the bar and we also took breakfast at the hotel, which is ok but not exactly worth the money. Speaking of which, this was the most expensive hotel stay in my life (and I have travelled a bit) - San Francisco is crazy expensive. I mean prices are insane. However, the Adagio hotel is a nice place to stay if you want to be close to Union square.
This is an excellent option to the overwhelming size and pomp of the other Marriott hotels in the area. It felt like a small personal hotel. Was a wonderful location....close to Union Square but away from the noise. Easy walking distance to BART and bus route outside the door. Would definitely come here again for a night on the town. They need to get HBO and Netflix though.
Nicer then I expected
Room nice. Great location. Service excellent. Kristin was truly professional. Restaurant wasgreat. All who worked in restaurant were amazing.Foodwas great. Service was top.
The stay was okay, the rooms are fine, front desk was very welcoming and breakfasts were nice. However there were some accidents happened during the stay, and how the hotel and the management handled the issues were just totally unacceptable. The biggest accident (yes, there are more than one) was the last night of our stay, the water pipe from above floor was broken, and flooded our room, not the bathroom but the bed and couch area, most of our cloths wet, and we had to change room. I understood the accident was not caused by the hotel, but how they handled it was very inadequate, no one seemed to care about what was going on, and we needed to constantly calling the front desk asking what to do, not the other way around. When we checked out, we asked to talk to a manager, and no one even knew what happened. And for expressing apology, the manager agreed to credit some Marriott points. Guess now what happened? It’s been 2 weeks and we have spoken to 4 different managers, everyone of them promised to call back with the updates and nothing happened, and of course no point was credited. How the hotel and management handled the situation was even much worse than the whole staying experience at the moment. I legitimately will not stay at this hotel in the future because of this.
Not much to look at from the outside, but a very nice hotel just two blocks from Union Square. Rooms tend to run large with tasteful, modern furnishings. Staff is very cordial and friendly; everyone offers a smile and a greeting. On site restaurant, The Green Room offers fresh food and large portions. Great location for your stay in San Francisco. One can easily access public transportation, all the major attractions, and loads of great restaurants.
The hotel Adagio was a good and decent hotel. The lobby area was clean and the staff was attentive. The room was clean and the bathroom was a bit dated. The negative note comes from a bad cigarettes smell nearby the room which was really unpleasant especially when the room was smoke free and I would have expected the area just outside the room to have the same conditions.
We visited Union Square for Christmas and this hotel popped up as a less expensive option with good ratings. We are so pleased that we came. Service was personal and very friendly and helpful. Our stay was fantastic - literally no way to improve. If you are deciding - pick this one, you cant go wrong
Wonderful stay during Christmas holidays, The staff are really accommodating and polite. They even provided a mini fridge on request. The breakfast was really sumptuous. The rooms are nice and clean. Its very close to Union Square. Fishermans Wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli ice cream shop are at a close distance.
Beautiful hotel and has quite the overlook of the bay area from the upper floors. All in all the hotel is really nice. It is a bit pricey for those who are looking for a deal on a hotel, but it is definitely worth what it costs. The staff is beyond competent and the food in the lounge is rather tasty in regards to most common hotel foods. Big two thumbs up!
I usually stay at the big Marriott properties - especially in San Francisco. This time I wanted to try something different, and Im pretty sure I just found my new favorite hotel in the Bay area. From the bellman who opened the door, the EXCEPTIONALLY welcoming and friendly front desk staff, through to a personal message of good journeys from the General Manager... this is the level of service Ive come to know and appreciate from Marriott. But, it was also even more inviting and - well, just a warmer experience than Ive had in a very long time. The room was great. I opted to forgo the upgrade that was offered, because Im one guy, staying one night. Still, the room I had couldnt have been improved. Loved the bath products, the linens, the bed, all of it. It was also MUCH larger than what Id expect from a hotel in San Francisco smack next to Union Square. Seriously, Marriott, this place is a gem, and it shines very, very brightly.
Very nice small, boutique hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff. Admittedly, I checked in but didn’t stay due to a location issue on my part, but I’d stay there if I needed a hotel in that area.
Staff was extremely friendly and professional. The room was nice and the beds were very comfortable. Although not in the best part of town we still felt safe. Three members of our party arrived at 1 am and they had to buzz into the hotel to get in, a nice feature for safety of guests. The coffee and tea area was a nice touch, as well as water and apples and a seasonal hot apple cider with gingersnaps.
We enjoyed our stay and the staff is amazing. The food was good. The bar area is a great place to relax have a few drinks and visit.
Hotel was wonderful, great attentive and friendly staff. If I had one critique about the hotel, the elevators are a little small but not a problem really. My other critique has nothing to do with the Hotel. The streets around the Hotel and all the way down to and including the Orpheum theatre on market were filthy. Additionally my wife and I were harassed multiple times by people in the streets during our daylight walk from the Hotel to the Orpheum theatre. It is sad to see such a formerly beautiful city in the current state.
The Hotel Adagio truly aims to please, ensuring that guests have an optimal stay. The staff are highly professional with an attention to detail. They were also very responsive to my questions and requests for late check-out and luggage storage. With the exception of multiple knocks on the door for housekeeping and bar service, this hotel is a great place to spend even one night.
True, it?s a Marriott. This hotel is located on the edge of the Tenderloin District, so the shops nearby are junkier, there?s trash and junkies nearby. Just beware. Close to Union Square, Grace Cathedral. Rooms are quaint. Showers have shower curtains vs glass doors. Elevators are old and one broke while I was there. Entrance doors are black, solid wood. No windows. Not inviting. Looks like you?re heading into a nightclub. You can tell it?s been remodeled but they didn?t go quite far enough. Elevators badly need replacing. I basically slept there and that was it, so if that?s all you want, this hotel accomplished that.
True, it’s a Marriott. This hotel is located on the edge of the Tenderloin District, so the shops nearby are junkier, there’s trash and junkies nearby. Just beware. Close to Union Square, Grace Cathedral. Rooms are quaint. Showers have shower curtains vs glass doors. Elevators are old and one broke while I was there. Entrance doors are black, solid wood. The Hotel Adagio, a Marriott Hotel, is a great place to stay in San Francisco. It is right in the heart of the city, and walking or short driving distance from just about every sight that is on your to do list. But what makes this hotel great is the people who work here. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by smiles that are genuine. Your questions are answered by people who love the city, and are happy to lead you in the right direction. The doorman, the bellman, the front desk, housekeeping, bartenders, waiters, everyone was kind and generous with their time, with no exception. They seemed to like working there, and working with one another as well, and it made returning to the hotel at the end of a long day of exploring a pleasure. Our room, btw, was spacious, clean and comfortable. And there was a happy hour in the bar every day, although we were always out exploring and missed it, it seemed well-attended when we arrived our first day!I would recommend the Adagio to any traveler to San Francisco, whether it is for business or for fun!Note: I gave the location a good because it is in the heart of the Tenderloin district, so while it is central to everything, you do need to be a bit careful, especially at night.I gave dining a good because its not really a destination for dining, but they do have food there.
Excellent location several blocks away from Union Square. The best and most ACCOMMODATING hotel staff that gave directions, recommendations, and wine tour booking information! They went out of their way to help me surprise my best friend for her birthday! The brownies that they had near the front desk were delicious! I should have went back downstairs to get more! Shoutout to the bar tender downstairs who served us the best lemon drops ever... other bar patrons ended up ordering the same lemon drops my friend and I were drinking! We would definitely stay there again!
Hotel Adagio is a special gem located conveniently to Union Square shopping. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and ours had a lovely night city view. The staff was the very best part of our stay. They were all friendly and helpful. We truly felt welcomed and valued. The bartender mixes the most delicious drinks that we have had anywhere. He took my husbands preferences into account creating special drinks for him. He made us feel like family. We have never felt as comfortable in any major chain hotel. Totally loved our stay and plan to return as often as we can!
My wife and I stayed four nights and were in San Francisco for a pleasurable long weekend. We really enjoyed this hotel. The staff were all so cheerful and did everything to make the stay perfect. One daily highlight was the cooked to order breakfast served so cheerfully in the Green Room.We were so glad we chose the Adagio over the many other hotel choices in the immediate neighborhood. In our many years of traveling, both for business and pleasure, this rates as one of our best hotel experiences.

Room reservation was given away even though it was already paid for. They only offer valet parking at $60 a night no matter the size of the vehicle. Elevators were fast. Room wasn’t soundproof.
The staff was excellent. We got great recommendations for restaurants and good advice about getting around the city. The hotel was lovely and the food there was good too -- especially the breakfast. I would definitely stay there the next time Im in San Francisco. Its a great location.
From the valet guy, to the front desk staff, every employee we came into contact with was first rate, very nice and very accommodating. The hotel is in a great location! The room was very pretty and well appointed. Loved that our windows opened some (not sure if all of them do?) Front desk had great restaurant suggestions for us. Overall it was a very satisfying stay, and I would stay again and again. The bar off the lobby looked like a happening place! Didnt go in there myself (a bit old for the bar scene) but, it looked to be a sophisticated crowd having a great time. Cant say enough about the great staff. They went out of their way to say hello, ask how our evening was, etc. and seemed to really care about us. I thought the bed was a little hard, but my travel companion said her bed was just right. Overall, it was a short but lovely stay.

During our most recent stay to San Francisco for a family wedding, we spent one night at the Hotel Adagio. The app allowed us to communicate with the hotel to request both an early check in and a late check out given the times of our flights in and out of the city. The staff members responded to all of our questions and requests in a highly courteous and timely manner. The location is very central, with many cafes, bars and restaurants in the area, including at the hotel itself. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway or for work/ conference setting.
This hotel would score 10s across the board, for its staff, cleanliness, decor, location, service, convenience, prices, parking, room size and layout, thoughtfulness -- everything -- if it werent for the hard, uncomfortable mattresses. If it was just me, Id say maybe it was just me, but my traveling companions had the same experience with the beds. Honestly, though, Id be seriously tempted to stay here again and just bring my own mattress topper, which the hotel doesnt have. It was THAT good in every other respect.
Lovely corner room, great amenities - bed, TV, internet speed, room décor all very nice. The fitness suite is good enough for a smaller sized hotel, never too busy. Quality of the food in restaurant/bar was very good and wine list is nice too. Prices all reasonable for hotel. Lulu is a wonderful server on the evening menu, thank you for looking after me every day, as are the other bar tenders too. I had a good stay and enjoyed the experience and welcome I had from staff. I would recommend.
Spent the weekend here with a few friends. The hotel sits in a great location only a couple blocks from union square. Many great bars and restaurants within walking distance as well. Our room was a ling deluxe with a pullout, which with 5 people still left plenty of space. Service is fantastic, with a bar serving very reasonably priced drinks made by very professional and friendly staff. Overall a definite 5 star experience.
This was mostly a really nice stay. Great room, very comfortable and really nice for the price. The staff were mostly great, with a couple exceptions involving the package price. If booking ahead be sure to purchase any packages in advance, because if you dont you will pay a lot more for the same items but they will not re-calculate the package price if you ask for it later. The bar tenders are very friendly and helpful, check in was very helpful and prompt, too. And the manager was friendly.
Good location. There is some hills but good exercise after you eat a lot. Hotel room is great but you can hear next door noise. Hotel stuffs are great. Better talk with them.
