It was my first time using my nationwide membership, but the staff was accommodating and welcoming. The team gave me a tour, and the PT offered to talk with me.

Just an overall great place to go. I go to the gym and love working out there!

Great YMCA. I lived in the Presidio in 2019 and loved going here. If Clayton is still working there tell him TJ says hello from NC. Great spot!

Maybe the best Y in the city. Lots of space. I love the Y because of their prices though. They have low income options for me and my girlfriend who are currently students. Makes a gym membership affordable. I really appreciate the organization. The staff is great too. Good people.

I love it. You get ample for your money, and you’re supporting a great community contributor. So, ultimately it suits my 21st century vanity through offering facilities that help me maintain my desired body type And healthy lifestyle, and it supports my ego by allowing me to give back to to the community and help with its needs. It’s a millennial generation’s dream!

Reasonably good facilities and mostly nice staff. There are a few people who work or volunteer there who seem to lack social skills and basic common sense, but managers generally seem responsive. The pool is nice but the locker rooms at the pool are ancient and small. The men’s sauna is like a broom closet. The main facility is quite nice and everything is well-maintained. For the price, in SF, it’s a good deal.

Its definitely a great facility for the price. Location is good, parking (not free), relatively OK equipment that is not new, but is functional and good for regular weight or cardio routines. They have a healthy selection of classes, although I have not attended one. The pool facility also has a classic vibe that is clean and well maintained, but free swim times are in the wee hours or after 7pm, unless you can get on the Masters swim group. Shaved a star because there are a lot of folks in the 65+ crowd who like to chit chat about politics and sit on the machines, or groups of high school kids, who I think go to the Bay School and use the Y as their gym, but thats all manageable, and not really any fault of the Y. The staff is excellent, welcoming and friendly, and the locker rooms and facilities are clean. I like that that staff works out here too, makes it feel like they have a stake in the place.

I’ve been swimming there since I was six and I am a really good swimmer now and I saved someone from drowning using my skills that I learned here!!!!

This is the best-equipped Y in San Francisco, tied with the Embarcadero Y.

Everything goes great, unless you have to deal with their shady management. My only suggestion for anyone to beware here is, everything you sign, tell them to give you a second copy of it all.If you cancel your membership, make sure that you double check with them that it really is cancelled, because if not, they are capable of charging you continuously every month without any notice. The bigger issue comes in if you try to get a refund. The director and upper management will stop at nothing to stall, excuse, and/or ignore your situation no matter how many times you call, email, or visit the place trying to solve the issues.Even having proof that includes actual dates, names and times, they will act as if they know nothing, and keep using different excuses every time, very often putting you on hold and hanging up, or saying they will call/email back without every doing so.The front desk workers can even pressure the management to try and refund you, but the supervisors and directors hold it all back and never deal with anything. Its as if they just sit in office all day doing nothing because clearly thats what it seems like.To clarify, installations, staff and pool is great, but management is so dishonest and greedy to a point that it becomes too much of a Con that overshadows the Pros. There are plenty more fish in the sea. This one aint worth the headache.

Their drop-in fees are a bit steep, but otherwise this is my go-to spot for when I need some gym action on the weekends.
