Probably the only place in the city that helps with assembling E-bikes that were purchased elsewhere. Mike is really professional and delivered the service in a timely manner. I called in, let him know when I would come by, dropped my bikes with him and it only took him just a few hours to assemble the two Giant Ebikes for me.Really appreciated your service!

Bikes and service were great! My 10 year old to 17 year old loved riding the ebikes. Hills and terrain were a breeze. Road all through golden gate park and overs and back on the Golden Gate Bridge. Good times

Rented 2 e-bikes which worked well. Good quality. A bit uncomfortable for a long >4hr ride, the seat on one of the bikes was quite narrow and stiff. Appreciate how we were allowed to return the bikes after close time (though this led to some confusion from another staff member on the phone). We got a flat tire and got charged, which was a surprise.

This guy is legit! He knows his stuff he runs a great cell phone repair business within SF wheels. He diagnosed my iPhone X and also provided me with recommendations. Inspection fee was even waived and the 45 mins originally spent finding the problem. Though he wasnt able to fix it and apple is now in inspection process.He went above and beyond in everyway. I will tell all my my SF peeps to come see you!! Your legit, Dont a Quit!

I bought my first ebike at sf wheels from Mike. Great experience. Great customer service. I got to test ride a few bikes to find what fits my comfort style. It was quick and Mike was thorough on the product, how to use. I bought the foldable magnum ebike. Mike showed me how to fold it. He made it easy and understandable. Say, gentleman in the back doing repairs, was helpful and informative as well.I would coming in versus shopping online. It is better to have options. Test ride with multiple options and expert shopkeepers to guide you through the process. Also walking out with the bike is a plus versus waiting 2 weeks to a month for a delivery.

Great place to rent an ebike and hit GG park!

This is the LEAST pretentious bike shop in SF that works on e-bikes and one of the most down to earth in general. The main mechanic/owner is a former aircraft engineer who respects people trying to learn to work on their own bikes and actually encourages creative projects instead of dismissing them like many other bike shop employees. Not only that but he’s way more experienced in electrical issues than most other bike shop repair people. The rest of the staff here is just as easy to talk to and down to earth as he is. I would 100% recommend going here for service or anything else. They will work on any e-bike, not just one you bought from them unlike nearly every single other shop in SF. It literally could be your only option for e-bike service, especially if you bought a bike online like me.

I had a problem with my electric bike - the cadence was off (although I did not know that was the problem when I brought it in). I was prepared to go without it for a few days. Michael greeted me when I came in and started to look at it right away. He took it for a spin, made an adjustment, and it was fixed. The whole thing took about 10-15 minutes. I asked him what I owed him and he just waved me off Catch me next time. He has done other things for me at no charge before. The fact that he did the whole job and then did not charge me anything for it made me very happy that I found this place. In this day and age where, it is really refreshing. I cant recommend this shop enough.

SF Wheels made our bay area visit absolutely awesome! We rented 3 bikes and rode over the bridge to Sausalito and back on one charge... excellent experience! Michael at SF wheels has that combination of professional knowledge, courtesy and kindness that make this place the most helpful, honest bike shop in SF. I had a bike battery that was not recharging. Other bike shops (New Wheel, near my home) wouldnt even look at it because they dont sell Rad City bikes. Michael at SF Wheels could have told me that I would have to spend $575.00 on a new battery the way the Rad City Website said. Instead, he fixed it in 5 minutes and wanted to charge me $3.00. This bike shop is not near my home but I will not go anywhere else. They fix things well and act with integrity.

I bought a new eBike from SF Wheels a little over a month ago because I live in a hilly part of SF and needed a new way to get to my workplace during this pandemic.The owner was super nice and helpful and let me test out a bunch of different bikes, and I couldnt be happier with the bike I bought! So far it has been working well and getting me back and forth to lab easily. The few times Ive had questions or small issues with the bike Ive gone back to the shop and gotten answers and replacement screws free of charge. Ive had a great experience with this shop!

SF Wheels is fantastic. They were able to fix my bike right away. Michael caught right away that the dealer that sold me my e-bike didn’t have some of the parts for that kept loosening every time I rode. He noticed without me telling him.He fixed it with no problem. But what I really like about this shop is that they are very friendly and helpful. I was dismissed at other shops. This review should really be 15 stars, as Ive had 3 fantastic experiences with SF Wheels this year.1. After visiting 5 other e-bike stores in the city where I saw the same models over and over, I came to SF Wheels and was pleased to see some different options. Michael was quick to identify a model that fit my exact needs at a better price point.2. Michael was quick to diagnose a minor production defect on my e-bike and fixed it for me for free during my visit. Ive not had any more problems with the bike.3. Michael played a key role in the recovery of my bike back after it was stolen and recovered by SFPD. SFPD said its very rare for the dealer to have accurate records and exert the effort required to make this happen.I STRONGLY recommend SF Wheels if youre looking for an e-bike in SF!

I rented an electric bike here the other weekend. They have one child seat ... so if you want it make sure to call ahead.Rode into the park with my daughter... who promptly decided that I was going too fast and wanted off.The electric bike part was awesome. Made me feel like I was in shape. Took the bike for a spin around twin peaks ... pretty much effortless.

Came in and got a rental bike for two days. The whole staff was extremely helpful, not just with the rental but they gave me many great suggestions for places to bike to, eat at, grab a beer at, and sights to see! The bike I rented ran all day for me with no issues and was more then enough power to climb any hills in the area with minimal pedaling. I would highly recommend this place to others!

Great experience with the owner who helped me plan a great route for me and his employees who initially assisted me. Shop dog was delightful. I rented the 80 dollar mtn bike for 6 hours one afternoon and they worked with me a little on price since its usually a 24 hour rental. Bike was very powerful, smooth, capable and the provided lock worked easily.i had no issues at all

Mike was a dream to work with. I rented an e-bike for the day to explore Golden Gate Park. I had a bunch of questions about the bike. Mike responded quickly and thoroughly. He made sure we had everything we needed. He is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share his expertise.If you havent tried an e-bike yet, you should. It is really fun to ride and it was great to have the assistance when needed.

This was our first time using E-bikes and we had the best day! We completely maxed out our day and did more than we expected. You can get around so much faster than a normal bike and even cars when there is traffic. The guys from SF Wheels were so easy going and professional.Thanks heaps!

I bought an amazing bike here. The guys were so helpful and patient. They really took the time to explain everything and educate me. These guys are the number one for electric bikes in San Francisco. They really cannot be beat. I highly recommend you check them out as your first stop if you are in the market for an electric bike.

I made two visits to this shop. Once to drop off my bike. Once to pick it up. I will never return.COVID WARNINGThe owner of this shop, Mike, was not wearing a mask over his mouth or nose during either of my two visits. He did have a mask, however, it was hanging from one ear off his face. Neither he nor his staff appear to respect a six-foot distance. I actually saw him pat one customer on the back. If you have any concerns about COVID, I would strongly recommend staying away.POOR COMMUNICATIONI stopped by this shop for a tune-up on my bike. At the time I dropped it off, they looked over the bike and I was reassured they would take care of everything. In contrast to this, I received a call shortly thereafter stating that some tune-up items were not included in the tune-up. I have literally had dozens of tune-ups performed at various shops, so I was pretty surprised by this. They stated they would need more money.For example, the minor lateral truing of the rear wheel had an extra charge of $100. During the call, they said it would be quick to true since it wasnt that bad and that they would do it for $75. I tried to share with the owner on the phone, Mike, that his competitors down the street include basic lateral truing in their tune-up and that I assumed it would be included there as well. He kept interrupting me on the phone and wouldnt listen. He said everyone charges extra for certain tuning items and his tune-up is a quick & basic tune-up. I pointed him to his competitors website (there at Irving and 15th Ave) which said truing was included in a tune-up. They also had an a la carte menu that showed it was only $15-$25 if performed outside of tune-up. This was in drastic contrast to his $75 quote. The call had the feel of I am fishing for more money. I told him Ill just pick up the bike and bring it to his competitor.POOR QUALITY* My bike was returned from the tune-up without the rear brakes working!!! I rode off with a bike that didnt have rear brakes. They had forgotten to reconnect them. Also, there was oil literally dripping off the chain (see uploaded photos). This is messy - its now all over the frame and rear rim. But its also a maintenance nightmare because it collects dirt.* The front brakes were squeaking like a banshie when I rode off from the tune-up. They failed to tune the front brakes.* The derailer had not been tuned-up during the tune-up. The gears were skipping when I rode off.STRANGE SHOPThis shop is weird! Its small and the bikes are so packed in that its impossible to peruse the inventory. Mike uses it as a combined cell phone repair and bike repair shop (see photos). Lastly, it has an ATM.PAYMENT3% surcharge for credit card and no checks accepted. Bring lots of cash.COSTSF Wheels is very pricey. They charge about 10-15% higher for a basic tune-up than other bike shops nearby. I understand they need to pay the inevitably expensive Cole Valley rent, but the cost makes them more expensive. I mistakenly thought this extra expense meant higher quality.My mistake.RUDE OWNERMike is just an unpleasant person. At every turn he seeks to upsell you, and doesnt have the ability to listen to the customer. And hes just unpleasant to work with.RESULTI rode away from my tune-up at SF Wheels straight to another shop at 15th and Irving. At the other shop they immediately through my bike up on the rack, began spinning the wheels and testing the brakes, then said, it looks like your bike needs a tune-up. YES, right after I left a tune-up at SF Wheels! Unbelievable. They did the (second) tune-up on the spot. They did the rear wheel truing at no extra charge because they include it in the tune-up. My visit to SF Wheels was a costly waste of time.

This place is great. I love the lines of electric bikes they have. I started renting a couple with me and my friends and it ended with a purchase of a Magnum series. Good price for high end, strong, and stylish E-Bikes. The staff was very fast and helpful. And if I ever need future repairs on my Magnum E-Bike, I know where to come to! Highly recommend!

SF wheels is great and Michael is just fabulous! Whenever I go with a problem in my Hardrock Specialized bike, Michael corrects it almost instantly. He is the most experienced and expert bike mechanic I have ever seen. On the top of that, he is extremely friendly and charge much lesser than any other neighbourhood bike shops. Last time, Michael even rectified my bike seat for free! Thanks a ton Michael!

Best decision we made this trip. This place has the best prices for e-bikes all over SFO! These will come in handy going up the hills, we drove 60 miles in 24 hours, we wouldve never been able to see that much of the city any other way!

Had a fantastic day exploring the city and surrounding area, taking in Ocean Beach, Lands End, Sea Cliff, the Presidio and over Golden Gate Bridge. Back through Golden Gate Park and completed a memorable day taking in the views from Twin Peaks - the bikes making short work of the ascent! Broke a couple of spokes on one wheel of my bike and needed to replace them. Already bought the parts but realized I didnt have all the tools for the job. So went in to SF wheels and they said it would be $120 for the repair which is ridiculous this is probably not even an hour of work and I already have the correct replacement parts.Prices are highway robbery not even close to competitive...

Do not rent bikes from SF Wheels. They will cheat you out of your deposit.We rented e bikes from SF Wheels on July 25th, 2020. They did an ATM draft of $1500 as a deposit and said it would be voided if we returned the bikes in the same condition. We returned the bikes and Mike the owner said the deposit had been voided. I didnt see it post in my account so I took him at his word. I should have had him write void on the ATM Draft and got a copy. On August 19th they hammered the deposit and it came out of my account. I called Mike and asked him about it. He said he would call his bank about it. He claims to have called his bank and they had no record of it. I told him I would file a dispute. My bank called him and he said the charge was indisputable and now he is unavailable for a comment. If you have had a similar experience please contact me.

Nice cycle shop, brought bike in for service, was done the time promised, bike is riding better than new, Great prices, service, they rent bikes too, this is my new to go to place for all my bicycle needs, Oh yeah there was a moron in the shop when I was there( Brett Stroud ) He is the idiot that left a negative review for the shop, that is not what happened, his bike was repaired and he cane back same time I did and said one of the wires was broken, if one of the wires was broken he would not be able to ride the bike out of the shop, he was a Post mate Delivery guy, and those bike delivery guys trash their bikes, he was trying to scam, dont believe me come check out the service at this place.

I bought an electric bicycle for $ 35 for the homepage event, and the cost is also lower than other places at 45 $. The electric bicycle charge is about 60 $ per day. It is really caustic and I was really comfortable to go to the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito at 12 oclock. I will use it next time.
