Solaire has a great management team (with a special mention to Jeana Morrow and Kazuko Tessien). Jeana makes the leasing process smooth and hassle-free. Solaires management team handle emergency situations promptly, ensure that the residents stay is not compromised and will do the maximum they could to keep the residents comfortable. They also have an amazing front desk concierge team and last but not least, a dedicated maintenance team. A safe apartment community to live in SF with breathtaking views and amenities in the middle of the city.

I lived at Solaire from Oct 2019 to July 2020 while I was in San Francisco for a fellowship. The location was perfect for me because it was only 3 blocks from where I worked and 3 blocks from Market Street, so there were a lot of restaurant options within an easy walking distance. The Ferry Building is also not that far away, and it has a great Farmer’s Market and restaurants. Public transportation options were nearby with the Transbay Transit Center about 1.5 blocks away and the nearest BART station was about 3 blocks away, which made for an easy walk to catch BART to ride to the San Francisco airport whenever I traveled. The staff was always friendly and helpful, both during my move in and move out when I received orders to transfer to my next military assignment sooner than originally expected. They were also prompt to resolve maintenance issues whenever I had problems. Amenities that I really appreciated were the below ground parking to keep my car safe and the roof top terrace was great for watching fireworks on New Year’s Eve and just a great spot to go and relax with an awesome view. There is a Starbucks next door to Solaire so it was really convenient to order ahead and go downstairs to pick up. Overall I enjoyed living at Solaire and would highly recommend it.

LOVED living in Solaire!!! Starting from the staff which are so welcoming and super helpful to the spectacular views and the beautiful apartments, there is no need to look further in SF. I loved how I came home and went down to the amenities floor and enjoyed complimentary yoga. I feel that in Solaire there where many places you could go within the building that made it super nice to live there. Special shoutout to Lucy in the front desk and David in the leasing office who went above and beyond.

Its been three weeks moving into Solaire. So far everything has been wonderful. The apartment itself is of great quality. The amenities/ facilities, from lounge to terrace, are amazing. Currently the gym and the rooftop are temporarily shut down due to COVID but they seem very nice. The staff here is super friendly and helpful. Lastly, a big shout out to my leasing agent Jeana who was very patient and responsive during the leasing process.

I highly recommend Solaire. They have a great team of on-site employees who not only provide any kinds of helps if needed, but they also give you big smile all the time. I feel like home and I also feel safe living at Solaire. I really appreciate Jeana, the leasing consultant at Solaire, who has been very helpful the entire time. She was able to help me find my current unit (which I LOVE), make my entire leasing process smooth and easy, and arrange the move in in just a week. She is very patient, and she stays on top of things. I am very happy staying at Solaire.

Nate helped me with the leasing and everything. The experience was great! Very quickly and all the staff were glad in helping with our visits and questions. The views in all over the building are awesome!!! Bay bridge, Sales Force Tower and the city skyline. The common areas are new and in good condition. The gym was a must have for me and Im happy with that. Barbecue grill and jacuzzi are a plus!!! After comparing with all my options, I chose Solaire because of the combination of all those things. Easy, beautiful, new and great staff! Also, the move-in process was so easy that I couldnt believe it. I had so much problems with the move-out in my old apartment (Infinity Towers) that I was surprised with the convenience and easy access to the loading dock at Solaire. If youre looking for an apartment, you should definitely consider Solaire as an option!

Today, I just went down to get my bike, and found out this mess. The bike room is in the garage, and got broken into, and Im shocked to see how insecure it is. Ive immediately told the management about it, and they seem hesitant to inform the current residents of their negligence. For the way they handle this matter, its one star, because this time it is about security.

We really liked living here and the staff was always super friendly. The amenities were ways in working condition and we had no maintenance issues with our apartment. The only reason Im not giving Solaire 5 stars is due to their lease renewing rates. After our first year there, our rent increased by 10% which was a solid 5% higher than other apartment buildings within a block radius. Before moving in, just make sure youre okay taking the chance that you will need to move in a year depending on their renewal rate.

Very unpleasant, unsatisfied and frustrating leasing experience with Solaire. Because of job change, I need to relocate from east coast to west coast, and I only have 2 weeks to sign the lease. Their leasing team was very irresponsible. Over the 2 weeks, I sent over 10 emails, contacted 4 different leasing officers, called the lease office over 6 times, literally chasing them to review my application and send me the lease to sign everyday. They either ignored my emails, or didnt response to me timely. And the whole leasing process took 2 weeks!!! The 1st person told me that it took just 24 hours for him to review, and then he disappeared, and never responded my application, and then I have to contact another leasing officer, and after one day, he disappeared as well, and never responded my email. And then the 3rd person, it only took him 1 hour to review my application, but then took forever for him to send me the lease to sign. And then worst thing happened, I booked my flight ticket, and shipped all my stuff (8 big boxes ) to SF. And before 5 days of my move, they finally sent me the lease to sign. I signed the lease, and then they requited me to sign another document to voided my lease because of some other unexpected issues. So it turned out that I only had 5 days to look for another apartment, and moved in. I was so worried and upset. And in the end, I had to find a temporary place to live.Such a bad leasing experience, which almost made me homeless. I suggest if you are urgent to rent an apartment because of relocation, do not rent Solaire, because it took them forever to review your application and prepare the lease.------This is an additional comment that I have to add after 4 months of my initial review to prove their management and leasing office is very unprofessional. They are still sending me emails of package delivery after 4 months, and called my phone number to pick up food delivery. And even after I told them that I never live in Solaire and asked them to remove my name. They still keep calling me and sending me delivery notification. This is so annoying.

I was recently in a nightmare situation where I had to get out of a bad apartment situation and sign a new lease in about a day. I called Solaire and Evan was amazing. I was able to view apartments immediately and had a lease signed within a day. Evan answered all my emails and about fifty phone calls (seriously) personally and immediately. I was never left waiting. Because of Evans incredible customer service and availability I got out of a bad situation fast and moved in to a new, beautiful apartment very, very quickly. Ive never worked with such a responsive leasing office in my life, Nate in leasing has been incredibly helpful too and so has Jaylene at the front desk.I have also lived in another high rise in this neighborhood and Solaire is much nicer. The finishes and details are thoughtful and the building is very new and clean. I think you will find quirks and issues at any apartment, high rise or not, but so far Solaire has been wonderful. We love our apartment and all the staff have exceeded expectations for kindness and helpfulness.

The staff has overall been friendly and attentive, the apartment we got was a good value compared to other similarly sized units in the area, and they have fiber optic internet wired up and available as an option for residents.I haven’t been here for a summer yet and I’m hoping the situation is tolerable. If it’s overly warm I’ll be updating this. It’s crazy this building doesn’t have A/C when every other building in the area does.

Ive lived here for a bit over than 2 years. It was really great experience from the very beginning. This community has amazing stuff and great amenities as well.Couple things that are quite important for me that I found here:* amazing noise isolation, Ive never heard any of my neighbors, below, above or on the same floor* luxor for deliveries, works quite smooth - its very easy to receive and send the packages* good security, there are locks on elevator and many doors, youll never see strangers roaming around, guests and delivery would be only let in if the host will confirm them over the phone* responsive staff, any request I had would be done usually same or next day* high quality gym with regular yoga classes* shared furnished balconies with incredible bay bridge views

Review №30

Let’s start off with the good part: This place has some good salespeople who were really helpful from beginning to the end. I really appreciate that. That being said, the overall unit quality is subpar. First of all, the soundproofing is very bad. There are a lot of construction + traffic around the building that you have to tolerate it inside your unit even when the windows are properly closed. You can imagine the level of noise when you open your window to get some fresh air. Another problem is, the appliances installed in the unit are the lowest quality of their kind. For instance, the refrigerator is making regular humming noises (living rooms and kitchens are attached) which makes it very difficult to have peace of mind at home, combined with the noise coming from outside. Moreover, there is no AC in the units; sometimes it can get pretty warm.Overall, within this price range, you can find so many apartments that are much better than Solaire. I know, the leasing team is nice, but at the end of the day, you are going to live with the unit not with them. The points that I’ve mentioned above can’t be understood while having a 5-minute viewing. Therefore, simply stay away if you don’t want to get locked in a subpar apartment for 12 months.

Was looking at apartments all day, and my visit to solaire with Nate was definitely the best. He was such a nice leasing agent to work with, patient and taking all my considerations into mind. I still havent completely decided where to stay, but I definitely feel that staying with solaire will atleast be a great experience in terms of the staff they hire, based on my experience. In terms of the apartment, their layouts are extremely practical and well thought out compared to some of the other places. Some of the common area balconies are so cute, I totally see myself hanging out there if I move in. Overall, seems like a great community, definitely check it out

Love living here. I just renewed my lease. The staff are the nicest and take the time to leanr your name and say hi to you when you enter the building (and give your dog treats!). Yes, rent is high but welcome to San Francisco. The buildings amenities and apartments are beautiful. Theyre available for all tenants, where other buildings in the area limit some amenities (like the rooftop ) to only the penthouses. The leasing office, especially Evan and Uche, really do what they can to make sure youre happy. Overall love the building.

I have lived in many apt complexes over the years. This is one of the worst I have experienced. For any mistake made (because the poor communication) the management will send threatening letters. This place is like a boarding school where residents are treated like kids to be threatened if they make a mistake. I was sent at least two severely threatening and demeaning letters, when the mistake was of the management of poor communication. When I asked the management to apologize for such unwarranted threats, they send me even more nasty emails. Wow. Wake up guys. You are not the only building in town. Treat residents with genuine respect. They are not your employees, they are paying customers.

Mostly awful, few good things1. No AC - the apartment is basically an oven in the summer. For what you pay in rent, this is ridiculous; extremely poor design decision to not include an AC when you have interior bedrooms with sliding doors & ZERO windows2. Elevators out of service OFTEN -- this is a 33 floor building. There are three elevators to service all 33 floors. Very often, one of the elevators is dedicated for moving in and moving out, which leaves only 2 elevators for the entire building. Wait times can sometimes be 10 minutes for an elevator. Recently, one of their pipes burst and there has been only *ONE* elevator to service all 33 floors. No apologies from management. No sense of oh wow, this is *really* bad, we should apologize profusely to our gouged tenants and fix *quickly*.3. Trash chute out of service OFTEN -- this place really was poorly designed. They have an advanced trash chute that has a button to open and close. Result: it often doesnt work and residents leave trash on the trash room floor frequently. This is a public health disaster in the making.4. Lack of doormen -- The reception is understaffed. The reception guys work really hard, but there is often nobody at the front desk, which means delivery personnel (food delivery, amazon prime) ask you to come downstairs to pick up the food. You can understand how this, combined with the elevator delays, makes this place a complete NIGHTMARE to live. The building has amazing views and amazing skydecks. They use this to sell and milk it for all its worth, but like a previous reviewer said, Solaire is a ripe-looking mango with a rotten core

In the last 15 years, and 7-8 buildings (including 4 in SOMA), Solaire has been by far the worst experience Ive had at a building. From the beginning when they claimed incentives upfront that didnt deliver until you hound them, to issues throughout (missing doormen, lost packages, utilities issues) to extremely punitive policies upon checkout. (e.g. I was promised $1,000 visa debit card, but I had to visit repeatedly to get my debit card. They charged me $75 for a Fob + mail key even though I was just 3 days late in returning it). This is just a few of a litany of complaints Ive had.Ive read several low reviews and had a couple friends who complained about their experience living there. I should have followed their advice. I still signed this apartment due to location -- I would seriously recommend considering another location; this is by far the worst managed building Ive ever rented.Check out their FB page -- Ive never seen any other apartment building with so many 1-stars.

Stay far away from this building. Besides unfriendly staff and dirty interior, elevators are consistently broken. Expect at least 15 min wait and jam packed elevators day and night with one elevator servicing 32 floors. This apartment complex also claims to be smoke free, but does nothing to discourage residents from smoking on a daily basis. This significant health and safety issue should concern any potential residents.Update:After almost a year at this complex I can tell you the have an absolute disregard for the health and safety of residents. They openly encourage smokers by not enforcing a no smoking policy. Stay far away from this disaster of a company.

Worst high rise experience. If I could give 0 stars I would!I have been around many of the different high rises in SOMA and this is by far the worst one. I have been here since March 2018 and will be leaving immediately after my lease is over.1. Incompetent Management StaffI would even to go as far to say that the management staff is very shady! When we first moved in and had ALREADY signed the lease, the leasing agent tried to strong arm us into altering the lease. We didnt get a walk through or inspection even though we asked. On move-in day, even though we had reserved the Loading Dock weeks in advance, the alley was completely blocked off with construction trucks. When we tried to get it resolved we were met with the most rude attitude ever! It cost me an extra 2 hours because my movers had to park further away. When the management changed, they didnt bother to notify us. They claim to have put up flyers in the elevator but I live in a townhouse, we dont use the elevators. They changed the online portal (I will get into this more) so my automatic payments became invalid and they didnt notify anyone. Finally, the CASHED AND LOST my Bill Pay and then tried to threaten to kick me out. Due to the automatic payments being reset, I sent a Bill Pay via my bank. They cashed it, lost it, and then claimed that I never paid. Even after showing proof of the Bill Pay confirmation, they THREATENED to send me a Notice to Pay or Quit! TERRIBLE!!!Keep in mind that we have NEVER missed a payment until they completely took away our ability to pay online.2. Completely flawed online portalThe online portal is completely flawed. If you want to set up automatic payments it is based on your previous 3 month average which was wrong because they kept on double charging us for parking (which is $400 by the way).Additionally, you can only have one person make a payment. Instead of every other reasonable place that allows you to individually make payments.3. Terrible Package RoomThe building uses Luxer One, however there are NO LOCKERS, all of your packages are just put on poorly organized shelves in a single package room and it is way too small for the number of packages coming in an out. In the past 10 months, I have had my packages stolen three times. Missing packages sometimes take 2 weeks to track down and recover.4. Bad EventsThey only throw events that are sponsored by a third party. Sorry, I dont want to attend a sales pitch.5. Slow MaintenanceI have made 3 maintenance requests and all of them took almost a week to even get the first response.Dont be fooled. Compared to all of the other great places to live, this one is the worst!

The staff here is tremendous. They were on point with getting me a bargain deal that took into account my time time frame and desired amenities. Not only that but they have been proactive with getting my apartment and payments properly set up. And the amenities here are in fact great, but easily one of my favorites is the electronic mailroom. Ill get a text message with a one time password into the mailroom, which makes me feel plenty secure about sending packages to my address all of the time. And they are proactive with apartment problems, too. I off handedly mentioned that I had noise issues with the trash chute like a months ago, and I just realized that it hasnt been as frequent the past three week. This to me is particularly impressive because I didnt formally complain about the issue.

Lived here for a year, looks great on the outside but our $3.5k/month jr 1br was essentially a tiny studio with sliding doors to make it a room. The room however was tiny and could not fit a queen sized bed. Ok for 1 person, terrible for 2. Layout sucks, but wonderful view of the bridge.Theres intake/outtake vents to try to keep our unit somewhat cool, but it still gets too hot with our single tiny slit of a window and loud, ineffective fans. Also the fans let a lot of dust in, especially in the bedroom. Wed find dust all over the side of the bed under the vent. You can only bring 2 guests per unit into the apartment. If you want to have a small party, youre supposed to rent out the outdoor grill space for some ridiculous $100+/hr or something otherwise its first come first serve.Even though its newly built, its obviously cheaply built. The garage door broke and got fixed 5+ times in 3 months forcing us to leave the garage early on weekend mornings or late in the afternoon resulting in last minute canceled plans. We were paying $400 a month for garage access which was one of the cheapest tiers. The garbage chute would be broken 90% of the time due to user negligence or bad workmanship, and because of that, residents would leave garbage out to rot in the tiny, unventilated garbage room. Large boxes are supposed to be thrown out on the first level. To get down, you have 3 elevators, but even so, youll sometimes be waiting to go up or down for a good 10 minutes. Im pretty sure only 1 is on during non peak hours. The cabinets were ok but the lights under would often short itself out. The sink head keeps getting loose. Despite all these problems, maintenance has been super friendly and quick about fixing the fixable issues. Staff is really friendly and theres some events and rec spaces. Feels a bit like a college dorm for better or for worse.
