The space is nice, however parking is a nightmare in that area. Almost gave up but luckily found a spot. My technician was good even though it was her first day. A bit of communication issues but she did a fine job. My main issues with this place is their basic setup. Most places have reclining massage chairs that you can adjust. These are just regular static chairs and was a bit uncomfortable and awkward since Im taller. Also, most places have drainage and the ability to have fresh water at each station. Here, they just have a bowl that they dont change out the whole time. So after washing my feet, they put some flowers or something in it I think to make it look nicer. But I felt it was kind of gross that they used the dirty water to wash my legs and feet. It would be better if they had fresh water or a hose type setup. All in all the design is nice but they shouldve invested more in the traditional nail place setup. I probably wont go back because of this, the parking situation, and its not cheap either. For example adding on parrafin costs $10! Not a good value...
Love Leo! The aesthetic is perfection. I’ve been here twice now and saw Jules this last appointment and am very pleased with her service and attention to detail. The 4 stars is for the gel polish (they use CND gel) which they don’t have a matching regular polish for. I personally love for my toes to perfectly match my fingers and both visits the “closest” match has been way off. I wish they offered the matching polish. Also the $5 sanitation fee is a little ridiculous to me. Yes it’s $5 so not a huge deal, but as a salon - you need to sanitize after each and every client anyways so this up charge really annoys me.Other than that, Leo is amazing and I probably will keep coming back.
Manicurist was very sweet and we had great conversations, but the end result of my gel manicure was not good. I can see through the color gel (manicurist didn’t add one more layer). Bummer. Not coming back.
Leo is my go to spot for manicures and pedicures. The space is beautiful; they do an incredible job of creating an aesthetically pleasing and relaxing environment. The service I’ve received has always been exceptional. Every mani/pedi has lasted several weeks, and the artist (regardless of who it is) is always kind and fun to chat with. :)
This is the first nail salon Ive ever been to where I felt truly comfortable and pampered. You just feel like they actually care for you and want you to feel your absolute best when you leave. In fact, calling it a nail salon feels inadequate. Its like a wellness hub. It goes without saying that it has such a beautiful aesthetic. The attention to details makes the place. The foot bath had dried flower petals. They made me hot tea (a delicious custom blend). They didnt have just trashy mags, but books about design, wellness, food, etc. I probably did my pedicure and massage in the wrong order, and subsequently smudged my toes during the delightful massage. They fixed them up, no problem. The owner is such a beautiful soul! Everyone just seemed happy to be here. Prices seem fair for the treatment you will receive here. I highly recommend it!
Excellent little shop! Great technicians and high quality products.
I was looking forward to my first experience at this salon and making it my neighborhood spot, especially after all the good reviews. Unfortunately, I don’t recommend this place. While my manicurist was SO KIND and offered great customer service, I noticed that the containers holding the tools were either finger printed, messy, stained, etc. Overall, it was clear that stations are not thoroughly cleaned regularly. (Separately, there were mismatched or burned out lightbulbs inside—which isn’t a deal breaker but makes the space look tacky.) Additionally, I was charged $30 just to get my gel fingernail polish removed. I received no other service. I have never seen a price this high for this service that takes just minutes (and I have been to multiple 5-star salons globally). I was also charged this amount after my manicurist told me I would be charged $12-$15. After made aware of this discrepancy, the woman at the register offered a 10% discount and apologized, which was nice and I thanked her. But let her know I’ll pay the $30 she charged me, since this seemed to be the actual price. I kindly let her know that while I will agree to pay the price this salon sets, this amount is outrageous for this service.
This salon is like no other- the space is beautiful, clean, and there are no smells of chemicals- which is one of the reasons I have avoided getting manicures and pedicures my whole life. Leo offers multiple polish lines that are free of harmful chemicals; I chose the vegan brand côte and my toes looked great for over 3 weeks! Leo provides high quality work, executed by a lovely team of employees who are happy to serve you. Everyone is kind, friendly, and generous. After my pedicure was done and I was waiting for it to dry, I dented the polish with the hem of my pants. The lovely woman who manages the front desk took the time to take off all the polish and redo the toe, complete from base coat to top coat! You can definitely find a cheaper place to get your nails done, but at Leo you know you are supporting ethical business practices, fair employee wages, and carefully curated products. If you have the means to support a small business who chooses to do the right thing, then go to Leo, you wont regret it.
The sweetest staff ever! We had a girls afternoon for one of my girlfriends birthdays and they were so accommodating with our big group. I’ve now gotten a pedicure and manicure from here. I’ve never had a mani and/or pedi last so long (not even gel!). The owner is just the kindest and truly cares about her clients.
Place is clean and pretty, service is amazing but im taking one star off because the regular polish didnt last a day. It came off in the morning.
Jen was awesome. Loved my pedi. Will be back as soon as they open back up.
My favorite place for a pedicure in San Diego. Very low-toxic products and great service. The decor makes it extremely relaxing. Leave yourself a few extra minutes for parking.
I love this space! I absolutely love the decor & vibe which compliments the relaxing experience. My mani/pedi was amazing and will definitely be coming in again.
The atmosphere is nice but the pedicurist I had was either new or not very good at her job. She was constantly asking the other pedicurist what the next step should be while doing my pedicure.I will not be returning.
Great service! I was the last client of the night but they took their time and did a fabulous job.
Beautiful space and a beautiful experience. I had a Pedicure 2 today and every part of the experience was well thought out with relaxation in mind. Highly recommended for a girls day out or just some time for yourself.
Really overpriced and a bit pretentious. Not accommodating or flexible with appointment/service changes. It’s a nice thought but there are so many other more practical options in the neighborhood.
Came in for a relaxing mani pedi with Shelby and got exactly that. Next time I decided to come in for a massage and Chelsea gave me the best massage I have ever had. My shoulders and IT bands thank you very much haha I love how clean the space is and how welcoming the staff is.Thank you for having a wonderful space! I love looking forward to coming in for my appointments!
Hands down THE BEST therapeutic massage of my life! The staff are beyond humble, patient, and effecient. Angela is legit the best massage therapist I’ve had the privilege of having work on my body. The methods from hot towels to the essential oils were all wonderfully incorporated into the entire experience. I wasn’t even on planning to get a massage until my wife surprised me with this spot. I left today booking my next appointment and I upped the time from 60 mins - 90 mins. I think they just got me for life.5 stars.
I am still smiling hours later. BEST MASSAGE EVERRRRRRR. (And I don’t say that lightly.)If you’ve checked out their website or follow them on Instagram, you already know that Leo is an undeniably cool spot. The design is flawless, the products and retail offerings are well curated. The space is immaculate and smells delicious. Pretty much every detail has been thought of and handled with so much care, they’re a delight to discover throughout the experience.Ok back to the massage. Angela has amazing hands, incredible technique and the most sweetly powerful energy. This may sound crazy but just being around her feels healing. Some people have “the touch” and Angela’s got it. It’s likd she’s radiating love through her hands as she works on you. Plus, the thoughtful details like customized essential oil blends, hot towels and the sound bowl make it a true luxe massage experience- better than I’ve had in high end spas paying twice as much. Do not sleep on the magic that is Angela’s massage. Or do sleep. I struggled to stay awake ;)Lastly, can we talk about Jina, the owner? She checked me out after my service and ended up chatting for 30 min. That woman is such a gift to this community. Her heart and intention for the space and community is so tender and genuine. I want everyone to go to Leo just to experience and support Jina.I left today not only feeling physically better, but also just like a better, empowered version of myself. I trust you will, too.PS I haven’t gotten my nails done there yet, but everyone else’s were so lovely!! And they have nontoxic polish options. Yaaaassssss, Queen!!
Cindy is amazing, best pedi my daughter has ever gotten
