It was easy to reserve our charter via Captain Clowers website - clear, easy to understand information on types of fishing offered, boat capacity, schedules, rates, fishing regulations and what to bring; easy to select the boat and schedule that fits; easy to pay deposit. Responsive to my pre-departure questions. Received an email reminder a day or so before fishing day with clear instructions on where to meet and contact info. On fishing day, Captain Clowers was prompt, hospitable and professional. The boat was clean and well-equipped, all equipment worked including rods and reels that were furnished. Captain Clowers made sure we were always safe and comfortable, put us on fish, gave instructions as necessary, baited and repaired rigs as needed and generally did a great job of making sure we had an enjoyable outing.Our party was well pleased with our experience and we heartily recommend Captain Clowers - a customer focused professional!

We did the overnight charter in early September and would recommend the overnight for anyone interested in catching the Bluefin tuna. It saves you a long trip out in the morning when most of the fish are biting. We had our lines in at 5:30 am and we were already bringing in Bluefin by 5:45. The captain and crew are experienced sea men and fishermen and kept us amongst the fish all day long. We came back with 9 Bluefin, 7 Yellowfin and a Mahi. The estimated total gross weight of the catch was around 400 lbs of fish. We even had time do a little trolling on the way back.

I spent a few days fishing with my youngest (12) as he is a fanatical fisher-boy and that’s what he wanted to do for spring break. We did the bass fishing first with Captain Clowers and had a phenomenal time. Allen worked the lake and had us on fish constantly, some really nice bass, bigger than we were used to catching, and many of them in the 4-7 lb range. He was patient with both of us, gave us good answers to the questions we had, and you could tell how much knowledge he has amassed about fishing the local areas.We also did an offshore down to the islands. We tried to get into something big, but like any other spring fishing, it was spotty. I heard him and the other captains on the radio trying to coordinate the big stuff but it wasn’t to be, been on a few offshores myself and know that this is pretty normal, right time-right place thing. But, we did catch a lot of the other local mainstays, rock cod and the like, and he had us all into that, my boy and I catching two each at a time and not dropping the line for long. If your catching fish, what could go wrong? We had a great time and the Captain was again patient with us, and understanding when my Boy got sick after a few hours out to sea.I was really satisfied with the time we spent with Allen. I will be using his services again.

Myself & 5 others recently booked the luxury boat option & did the 1/2 day bay fishing trip with Captain Clowers & his deckhand Dustin. To say we had a great time would be an understatement. From the time our lines dropped we started catching fish. The main species caught that day was spotted bay bass & by the end of the day I think we had caught nearly 50 of them. Were they monsters...no...was it fun as hell catching fish...Yes!! Whenever the bite slowed the Captain would move us to a more productive area, we never just sat wasting time as he was trying to put us on fish the entire time. The Captain & Dustin were not only helpful in addressing baiting lines, making sure everyone’s lines were always in the water....they actually spoke with us the entire trip. I add that tidbit because I’ve fished with guides before that have as much personality as a door knob, they almost make you feel guilty or you have the feeling that you have just put them out by expecting them to do the tasks that you are paying them to do. Not on this boat!!!!At the end of the day, fishing & the experience is what you make of it. We had 6 people that enjoyed each other’s company, beers that were cold, and a boat crew that genuinely wanted to see us have success while out fishing with them.....what else could you want? If you want to have a good time, just book with theses guys because a day on the water sure as hell beats a day at the office.From your Texas friends!!!

Great trip. We caught a ton of fish and Captain Joe was a hard worker. It seemed like he wanted to catch fish more than us. We will definitely use them again.

We, 2 of my daughters, and my wife enjoyed a half day of fishing one Sunday afternoon. Fishing not all that great, a storm front coming through which can shut the fishing down. Alan did his best to locate the fish, just one of those days. What was also great was the pods of Dolphins all around us for a good portion of the trip, you could not count them all, simply amazing. All four of us had a wonderful time, and yes we would, or will do it again when we go and visit our Daughter again in San Diego.

Went out on the Riviera for a 12 hour off shore trip down into Mexican waters and had a blast. Captain Clowers recommended that we go out far first to see if we could find some big fish and we ended up finding about 6 or 7 groups of feeding tuna. Didnt catch any but my son had one on the line but t snapped. After about 6 or 7 hours he gave us the choice to keep hunting the tuna or go back closer to the islands and try to catch some easier rock fish. We decided to go for the rock fish because I didnt want to get skunked for the day. Very very cool experience and he KNOWS where to find the fish. The boat was excellent and the Captain and deck hand very knowledgeable, helpful, professional, polite and fun.

I booked a fishing trip with Captain Clowers before Christmas. This was the first time my son and I had ever gone to deep sea fishing. It was mainly for me spending some quality time with my dad and my son and I didnt expect too much from fishing itself. Captain Clowers and his crew were super friendly. The boat was nice and clean as well. They really knew what they were doing. They brought us to the spot where we ended up catching more than 30 Bonitos and bunch of rock fishes. My son got too tired reeling in the fish towards the end of the trip. Everyone had a great time. We will definitely do this again next time we are in San Diego

I booked this lobster trip with a girlfriend for our husbands and sons (8 and 10 yrs old) as a Christmas present. They all had an awesome time! They loved having the boat all to themselves, being put to work to help haul up the pots and they ended up coming home with 17 lobsters. One lobster was so big the deckhand said it was one of the 3 biggest lobsters they had caught all year. It was bigger than my 8 year-olds arm! My son is ready to do this all over again or to have the Captain take him out for deep-sea fishing! Well definitely keep you guys in mind again for a next trip!

We went out to the Coronado islands but it was a bit rough and although we caught a few rock cod right away, my wife was a but seasick so we went to the bay. My husband and kids ages 6 and 8 went out with Captain Clowers in June. He was knowledgeable and made it very exciting for the kids. They caught 50+ fish in the 4 hours they were in the bay. Rays, bass, bonefish and sharks. They had a blast and still talk about all their catches. Definitely the highlight of their trip to San Diego.

I took my husband, dad, and son fishing, and the captain was great. We were able to catch a few fish. My son didnt care what type they were, he just wanted to keep a few for dinner, so the captain was good about helping him to clean the less desirable ones that we caught more of.

This was our second trip with Captain Clowers and it was just as successful as the first. We went straight to the islands and after a trolling strike we got into some wide open yellowtail and bonito fishing. Double and triple hookups. Amazing.We went on a bluefin hunt, but the bonito would not stop hitting our slow trolled sardines. We then got into another wide open school of bonito and even caught a lunker sandbass. We were hooked up almost continually for an hour. We landed over 50 fish on the day, we kept enough for dinner this weekend and released the rest.A great trip!! Captain Clowers knows how to get you on the fish and is incredibly patient and helpful. My nine year old loves fishing with Captain Clowers. I highly recommend a 3/4 day trip with him. We will be back for sure!!!

Cloweres put in the effort and hardwork to get us the fish we were after.
