I have been attempting to contact Atwest Rent A Car about where my deposit refund check is at since July 26th 2018, via phone call (4 times) and email (9 times now, to ensure record of contact). I have received ONE half response, simply stating the amount they think my refund should be as well as telling me that they will take 10% if I want it mailed to a different address on file. The amount stated was way too little to be correct. I replied to the email asking for a copy of the invoice emailed to me because I believe they have over charged me. They checked out our car at almost 1,000 mile over what it really was, especially given their free mileage policy, thats about a $230 mistake on their part luckily I caught. Took pictures of the odometer before and after returned. They claimed they would fix it. Due to their lack of responses, I am unable to see an invoice to see what exactly Im being charged for. They are trying to charge me for more than I should be, and are impossible to get into contact with. The car was returned within the free mileage range, we did not exceed it. The car was returned in the same exact physical condition as we received it. We have multiple pictures to prove it. We received the car with a half tank, and returned it pretty much empty. The only charge we should have is $56. It is a 16 gallon tank of that year and model of car, their policy charges $7 for each gallon missing when returned. 8 gallons times $7/gallon is $56. Unfortunately, I have not received any contact from Atwest in attempting to show any interest to resolve this conflict. I am still trying to get my correct refund amount of $298.
Terrible experience!!!! My car broke down within 20 minutes of renting. After getting it back to the rental office I returned car and key but they had no other cars for me so I was out of luck. Two weeks later I called because I was told I wouldnt be charged for my two day rental. When I called the guy screamed at me, and explained how there are no refunds. At one point he asked me what do you want from me I said to get my money back I had the car less than 30 minutes this is crazy.DO NOT TENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. I am no working with the bank to get my money back.
I would put a 0 if I could. Worst experience ever! Please do not waste your time and money and go somewhere else. I got charged three times the amount I was supposed to pay and when I called the company to know what was going on, the guy got really super rude and hang up the phone on me. I tried to call him back but he has blocked all my calls so no way to contact him anymore. I tried then to call the company in LA, I explained them the situation, same thing, horrible and incompetent customer service! I have never ever seen such an horrible and unethical company. Please atwest, do the good for everyone, get out of business!
My boyfriend and I were nervous to rent from them given a range of bad reviews, however we were pleasantly surprised at how nice of an experience we had with Atwest.They rent to 18-year-olds, offer affordable, good quality and fuel efficient cars, and provide pleasant in-person service.I do agree with some of the reviews that they did come across as unprofessional over the phone (I would call, they would pick up and say they were busy and that they would call back within 15 mins, they wouldnt call back for hours until I reached out again).They placed a $350 hold on my CC in addition to $140.60, the actual cost of the four-day rental. I worried that I would encounter issues getting my $350 back (from all those bad reviews), but I got my $350 the same day I dropped the car off, and that was a Saturday!***Important recommendation: take pictures of the rental before and after you rent as proof that you left the rental in the same condition you received it. That way they cant charge you extra without reason.
Answer the phone extremely rude wont help with any problems and when I asked the person who said they would call me to give me a name incase they didnt call back they gave me a false first name and wouldnt give me a last name and got completely defensive and yelled its his personal information and wouldnt give it to me and hung up
Dumbest idiots ever!!!! Whatever you do, do not rent from them! They will claim your car is set in stone after you paid, then claim you didnt pay and give your car away and then tell you if you dont like it rent from someone else. Very unprofessional and unhelpful. Only care about themselves and not the fact that I had to pick my boyfriend up from returning from his deployment. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM
Possibly the worst experience of my entire life. Period. Gave me a a Nissan Seentra, not a Sentra but yes, you read right, a Seentra. Car was horrendous. FINALLY, 3 weeks after returning the car, I got a charge of $255 on my card for a $6 unpaid toll. Tried disputing it with my CC and they said that the rental car company is unethical and unreasonable. I would have to take them to court. Absolute worst experience of my life.
Get everything in writing or they will change the prices and screw you over
