Double charged.Waited for over an hour.Finally given a minivan when I reserved a compact vehicle.When I asked to get a vehicle type that I reserved I got sent back to the never ending line.Asked to cancel order to just rent from one of the many other options.Have been waiting an hour for a manager to arrive so they can do refund.Very shady. You have so so many other options.
I have to give Advantage credit for providing good service and being kind to customers. It was my first time renting from Advantage since I normally stick with a different rental company but their rates for the period I vacationed in San Diego were higher and I opted to go with Advantage for a change. And it was a good choice. The check-in was just normal procedure and done in timely manner. The guy who showed me to my first car was kind enough to switch it for a different one that had leather seats and a sunroof.And I love driving a car with a sunroof in a city like San Diego. The return was easy and quick. I can truly say that I had a good experience. Good job, Advantage.
My experience was very pleasant at this location. Shuttle drop me off there was nobody in line and one agent working the counter. She got me out fairly quickly and I ended up with clean 2020 SUV. I rented from them at the several different locations and it could be hit or miss depending on a line and how many people working. Maybe I got lucky on this one. Prices are better and it seems to be a gamble what kind of service and wait youll have pending on location or time and day of pickup. 5 star for San Diego experience. By the way San Diego airport has top notch rent a car center.
We were very pleased with our experience with Advantage in San Diego. They were pleasant, efficient and helpful. The agent explained our insurance options, but did not pressure us to purchase insurance which we did not need. Our vehicle was both new and clean. Return was quick. We would be happy to rent from Advantage again.

Unlike some rental experiences, we not only felt welcomed but appreciated.The Chevy Malibu is spotless with less than 21,000 Miles ... clean inside and out and the seats are some of the best we have ever experienced in a rental or private car.The checkout experience with the car was easy and quick.Great overall experience and the price for two days was tremendous.
I had to rebook my flight due to illness for the next day, same time. I had made a reservation through Priceline for a fixed non refundable price. I called Advantage to let them know that I was coming in the next day, landing at 10:40am. They said they couldnt hold a car for me past 11am. I asked if they could just give me 10 extra minutes to get through the airport, pick up my luggage and catch the shuttle to the car rental place. They told me that no, they could only hold the reservation for 24 hours. I asked if they could just give my 10 min., and they kept repeating that they only hold the reservation for 24 hours. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor, the representative said he would check and then told me he was the supervisor and there was absolutely nothing he could do. I asked for the for the direct number to the airport location and he told me there was no direct number and when he communicated with them, it would take 2 days for the local place to respond. I have never come across a company so inflexible, so unwilling to work with you. It takes 2 days to get a response from a location? Theres really no direct line?
So far so good. The car is an SUV at a reasonable cost and in very good condition. The staff at the rental agency at the airport were efficient and friendly and the process went very smoothly and quickly. Ill see how the rest of the month goes and I hope I dont have to revise this impression.We returned the car yesterday. No reason to revise this review. The car was great for us. The return was fast, easy, and courteous. There were no hidden charges.
So, I have rented 3 crafting them over the past 3 months. The have the best value. I am not a fan of diesel cars, but I am warming up. All my rentals have been Volkswagen diesels. Best deal at the airport.
By far the easiest, quickest, hassle-free rental process I’ve ever experienced. Service was friendly and really fair prices for the rentals. I loved the Chevy hatchback they rented to me, it was clean and new. Very happy and won’t go anywhere else. Honest and no hidden fees
The car was clean and comfortable. Picking it up was easy, return was easy too! The part I don’t like is they don’t do a soft credit check, but they will put a 200$ hold on your card to ensure you bring the car back on time. Fine print I didn’t see. Otherwise, great!
Originally I was hesitant to choose Advantage after reading all the poor reviews. But I decided to give a shot because of the low rental cost. It turned out I made the right choice. My overall experience with Advantage (two weekly rentals) is pretty good. Edgar and Lynette, the agents at the counter are courtesy and professional. They respected my selection in reservation and did not urge me to upgrade or add additional coverage. Smooth transaction in picking up and return. No extra charge. Ill definitely choose Advantage for more rentals in future.
I had such an amazing and easy time for the short time I was here. My niece and I were helped by a young man named Raul and he was a great help. He made us smile and helped us find a plan that fit our budget. I will definitely come back with my family and hopefully he will be there to help us again.
I had to switch car rental agencies at the last minute because of the restrictions on driving distance that the company I originally booked with had. Advantage matched the price for the SUV I needed at the last minute. The agent was super friendly, and welcoming. It was the most pleasant rental experience I’ve ever had when picking up my car!

We rented from Advantge online and paid up front for the rental and insurance, only owing a small portion to the counter. The attendant tried to up sell us Until it was uncomfortable. I said I wanted our regular reservation. She added on things anyway, like double insurance and roadside and charges us double. I complained and the company did not respond positively. I tried to dispute through my credit card to no avail. It has been the worst rental experience I have had. I should have stuck with my regular company instead of trying to save a few bucks. Hard lesson learned.

Really 4.5 stars, but it doesnt let me do that. Great service, but lines can be long and slow at some locations. Would benefit to have another counter agent, or two, at some locations (ex. Denver Airport). Professional conduct by all employees Ive encountered. Cars are well cared for. Prices are great.
Being a frequent traveler, I was 100% not looking forward to not renting from my normal car company. Surprisingly my Advantage made me feel comfortable from the very start. She pulled up my reservation quickly and did not force upgrades and extras on me. I enjoyed our quick encounter. I then proceeded to the cars and spoke with another agent who was engaging and got me to my car quickly. I will use Advantage again when I need a rental and if I get the same treatment you have a new customer!
Horrible service. I had issues with my flight getting out there. They would not let me transfer the name for the other member of my party that was getting out there earlier. Said cause I prepaid it wasnt an option. Which I do understand. However, when I got there they told me I needed to put an additional $200 down as a deposit which was not discussed. Then told me I had a $20 credit since I would not be renting for 3 days just 2. With that credit I ended up getting insurance which was $22 total. But was then charged $12.75 for fees they couldnt explain. I paid a total of $105 but my bill says I should only pay $82.54. First time I called customer service they said all computers were down and to try in a few days. Next time I called asking to speak to a manager and was denied the opportunity. Will never rent from them again due to their poor customer service and no one explaining how they took extra money from me.
Beware!! I made a reservation online for a compact car. It was a great rate. When I arrived at the rental counter they didn’t have a compact option and was told I had reserved an economy. My confirmation clearly showed compact in the details. So the great rate I thought I was getting was for a smaller car. Very misleading.
We found the rental clerk (Rashool) and the young lady who directed us to our car to both be polite and efficient. Well done from these SAN first timer car renters. We will happily use Advantage again.This companys rates were the best we could find at the time, so we took a chance and were happy we did so. NOTE: for first timers to SAN, do NOT go up the escalator looking for the rental office. It is OUTSIDE the escalator area. Safe travels! Best office Christmas decorations too, BTW :)

I rented Car in San Francisco and dropped off in San Diego. The rental agent Jasmine insisted that every road in California was a toll road and I needed to purchase the EZ pass. Not one road was a toll road. I requested for the $87 to be reimbursed. I was told to talk to 3 different people. None was willing to correct the out and out lie.

DO NOT RENT FROM ADVANTAGE! They will scam you and charge you for a full tank of gas even though you returned it full! Luckily I was able to save my receipt and took a picture of the return ticket and my bank successfully disputed the charges. Now advantage has sent the bill to a collection agency! There is no way to talk to anyone in customer service about this without hours on hold. NEVER RENT FROM THEM. THEY ARE THIEVES AND FRAUDS!
Worst car rental experience. Charged 66 dollars for a 8.60 cent toll. Never told I had to pay to activate the toll transponder. And even if I did it was 10 dollars a day to activate it. Also never told I would have to pay for a full tank of gas 77 dollars before I even picked the car up. Down the road I filled it up for 50 dollars. If you wanna get ripped off rent from advantage. I travel twice a year and will never rent from these guys again. Over an 8 dollar toll! Lol I dunno how they are gonna stay in business
Samantha was courteous and helpful. She gave us straightforward explanation of options and made this process easy. Sadly, the customer next to me was being helped by an associate who was more like a used car salesman who was pushy about selling insurance and I felt his pitch bordered on the extreme situations.......:-))what if you were carjacked by a drug lord and driven to Mexico....will your insurance cover you then....sort of stuff. Glad I was helped by Samantha who was straightforward. She also was on duty to take my car in at the end of the week and the turn in process literally took one minute. She is fantastic.
I returned my car on time and I received a check in email the following morning saying that I had just returned the car that morning, 1 day late which included additional fees. The burden of proof was on me according to customer service so I emailed them my electronic boarding pass email. Rather than read the email, the customer service agent fixated on an attached file (another version of the same boarding pass shown in the email itself) and they required me to create a PDF and send it back. Two phone calls and two emails because their employee never checked my car in. They did ask for feedback in an email survey but it was limited to 500 characters...sounds like they are not actually interested in improving. I will never rent from them again and I will discourage anyone else I know from renting either.

I encountered one large issue regarding some deceptive marketing. During pickup, I opted for the prepaid fuel option based on what the associate offered: this option means I wont have to worry about filling the tank upon drop off and be charged a set amount per gallon. While this was true, one can assume that this means that you will only be charged for the fuel needed to FILL UP the tank like myself. In actuality, I was charged for the FULL tank. Since I dropped off the car on half tank, I was charged double of what was anticipated. This should have been made clearer during the initial sales pitch.
So on the plus side, the car ran fine and got us where we needed to go, so that was good.However, once we got the car it smelled TERRIBLE. It literally smelled like urine mixed with some hay and manure. I have no idea why they would rent out a car that smelled like that. It was VERY noticable. We rolled the windows down hoping it just needed to be aired out but that didnt help. We finally bought an air freshener which masked the urine smell a bit but not completely. Gross.Also, their actual renting system on site is inefficient. You wait in line to get the rental contract, then wait in line again in the garage to get the car. This is the only company Ive ever seen do this and I hope they consider changing it.Overall Im not impressed with Advantage and hope they step up their service.
Friendly and helpful service, a bit chatty with all the extra offers. Rates are reasonable and our car in particular was in very good shape. There are some petrol stations close by if you need to gas up before returning your car.
Crazy deal on a mini-van for my family (1/2 price of others). A bit slow counter service, but it was well worth the price. 2017 model in great condition. Easy check-out service, no hassles.

I had a horrible experience dealing with their customer service. Calling center is in Guatemala City and there is no way to speak to anyone in Untied States. I spoke to Very rude, very unprofessional representative named Jose Gonzales in Guatemala City customer service calling center. I use different rental agency often during my travels and this was the first time I rented with Advantage. After encountering issue with a toll road and trying to resolve it with their customer service i had to terminate the call due to a very rude and abusive behavior of this person. It was a very shocking experience. Don’t put yourself in the situation what I was in. It will ruin your whole day. Rent from someone else there are many other car rental companies where customer service representatives are very professional and extremely helpful.

I have never really had a good car renting experience so its not that Im just easy to please... I also only go with the very cheapest. So most of the time I realized you get what you pay for. I did that again this time, the very cheapest, but everything about this experience was amazing. First starting with how San Diego has it set up is just perfect. Big busses is waiting for you, to take you quickly to a main Hub that has every car rental agency. Once there it is CLEAN, it is FAST and the representative at Advantage was so very nice! That is rare. Offered me all the extras but didnt push, was not high pressure and didnt make me feel wrong and stupid for a passing. Just a simple offer for extra insurance, gas, Etc and with the smile had me on my way in minutes. So very valuable when its close to midnight and you have two little kids so weary from traveling. In the past we have waited up to 45 minutes for a shuttle to come in sweltering heat and once there its a longer wait in dirty conditions with agents who hate their jobs. This was a complete 180 from that. Fantastic experience!
The San Diego Airport Advantage Rent a Car was great. The staff was friendly. The car was in great shape. The checkin and checkout process was simple. I was hesitant to book with them (through Priceline) because I had a terrible experience with Advantage in Queens, New York, but the San Diego location was the complete opposite. Shout out to the front desk assistant. He was so cheerful and helpful. After a long flight, I appreciated his customer service. One room for improvement for this location would be to provide different gas packages. I would opt-in for an option to return the tank half empty as supposed to only fill-up your own tank completely full or come empty. Otherwise, I would definitely rent from this location again.

Very, very poor service. OGG airport Maui. Had to wait 1/2 hour for shuttle while dozens of other company shuttles were streaming past. Agency is at least 1/2 mile from airport. 1 hour wait in line with 25 other customers to get car. Line never went down. They said this is normal. This company has nothing bur contempt for its customers. Dont even consider them.
Everyone knows that traditionally, renting a car is a nightmare. I have rented many, many cars through the years and this was absolutely the best experience I have ever had renting a car. I highly recommend renting from Advantage and working with Nathaniel. Your vacation or work trip will start off in the best possible way.
Seamless check out process- was in and out in about 15 - 20 min after arriving at the desk. Got a brand new Rav 4 that was spotless and had low miles on it. No issues whatsoever. Just make sure you go downstairs to the offices first, not upstairs where the cars are. There are signs at the rental building pointing you upstairs but thats for picking up the car.
I rented a convertible 3 weeks ago to use for the weekend. I called the morning-of to confirm the convertible would be available. I drove all the way to the airport to pickup the convertible and - they didnt have any! What is the point of reserving a car with a car rental company, when they dont reserve the car for you!? And why would they tell me it was available when they did not have any? I will never rent from them again.

I hate giving a low rating! Although they were friendly and priced well, I was lied to about prices on multiple things on my rental. They tried to talk me into paying $20 a day extra for an Acadia, all to find out that this was the car that was already assigned to me. Then I was lied to about fuel prices and toll road fees. I understand we all want to make money, and Im fine with that, but I dont like dishonesty. Also, the car ran very rough and the tires were in very bad shape, causing poor traction.

Three phone calls and promises made to me that it will be handled and it still isnt resolved. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR RENTAL COMPANY!!!
Solid price, but generally a bad rental experience. The process of getting your vehicle is very painful. The desk purposefully slows down the check out process by trying to talk you into multiple unnecessary things and uses the long line and noisy area to try to force you into spending more money. For me, the agent falsely told me that all children under 70 pounds require a booster. This does not match California law. They also pressured me to get an easy pass transponder for $10+ per day even though my routes had absolutely no tolls. The agent insisted that I could not drive around Southern California without going through tolls. Add in pressure to buy the full tank of gas (average price of gas off base was exagerated by the agent) and to up the insurance and it all felt like a money grab. All this made the check out process take a long time...it was very unpleasant.
We had a really bad experience in Maui. We paid the car online using Priceline for 5 days 234$+ 96$ insurance. When we arrived there they asked 276$ more because the insurance was a third part so in case of any problem it wouldnt cover the days when the car was not working. Plus they added other fees. Total for 5 days 606$ for a sedan! INSANE!

BUT instead of charging you what you used, they charge you for a FULL TANK.# LONG WAIT - representative was friendly, but less chatting with each customer would be appreciated when 4 customers are waiting. The customer behind me actually left to another counter because the wait was so long# POOR INSPECTION - their original inspection of the car claimed clean inspection but completely missed the peeling paint all along the back bumper# DIRTY INTERIOR - used tissues in the center console?! Unacceptable...WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.
Booked through Europcar in Australia and Advantage was the registered representation get company in California. The lines weren’t that long but it took a while to be seen as there was only one representative to handle all Europcar bookings. Once I saw the representative the service was great and helpful. The car was in great shape and had no problems at all. The return in San Diego was seamless and took about 5 minutes. Just make sure you plan for the additional time to and from airports.
Terrible service. Made a mistake and wanted me to pay for it. Asked for proof of a full tank when the car was left in their possession. Used about 100 miles and I have a gas station receipt for four gallons. The car averages about 35 miles per gallon. Absolutely horrendous service. Definitely would not recommend.
Terrible experience! They tell customers they have checked the vehicle for major damage and found nothing, so the vehicle is good to go. Then they gave me a damage waiver and pulled the white portion off even before I could review the damage on the vehicle! There was a huge scratch all along the passenger side of the vehicle, which I marked clearly and then the manager put initials on it. When I returned the vehicle, they said I needed to fill out a claim for the damage on the vehicle and refused to accept the pink slip with initials. Please dont make the same mistake I did - dont rent from this shady company!

Rented from Advantage at DFW. Car smelled like cow manure for four days.But worst was the return. It was early and still dark. There was no lighted or visible sign for the Advantage return area. Hertz, Avis and Budget had multiple lighted signs. As a result I drove around the airport and finally decided to go to the Avis return. Took several minutes to get Avis to let me out their employee only exit but was given wrong directions by Avis and drove around airport again. Then went to Budget return and was given correct directions to Advantage returns.At Advantage return there was no attendant and sign saying to go inside for a receipt. went inside and Advantage agent would not give me a receipt or take the keys. The agent made me go back outside and turn in keys and paperwork in a Dropbox. Agent was rude and said if I did not go back out to drop box, she would not check me in and I would get extra days charged to me.Once I arrived at car rerun location, it took me 56 min to find Advantage and to return to the Dropbox from agent inside at counterAs a result of no lighted sign of location for Advantage Return And rude attendant we missed our flights which cost me $645.50 in change fees and higher tickets prices .Needless to say I will never rent from Advantage again nor will my employees.
I rented a car for 3 day business trip from ADV San Diego Airport branch. I only drove the vehicle back and forth to my hotel and to the work place. I hardly put any miles on the vehicle.On 7/17/2019, at around 5.50 AM, when I returned the vehicle, the ADV rep inspecting the vehicle went straight to the windshield (Making me think she knew what she was looking for, already aware of the issue, she circled a small dot on the windshield (Not a crack but a white dot), stated this is a crack on the windshield, and tried to hold me responsible me. Knowing that I hardly drove the vehicle, and did not cause the issue, I refused to accept the responsibility. I did not sign the papers she asked me to sign.The ADV rep further made comments that I should have bought ADVs insurance etc. The repair should cost like $25 (I have my car insurance that covers my rental cars).Not happy, I wanted to talked to the manager on duty. She first said the manager was not available. When I insisted, she called someone over the phone and she told me the manager did not want to talk me. I started video taping the conversations. She further stated that they will check the cars records and if the issue already reported, then I should not be responsible.The bottom line is that this is BAD business practice. I will not renting from ADV next time I go to San Diego SAN airport.If you do, make sure you record every little detail on the vehicle you are receiving from ADV San Diego Airport branch.
Only rent from advantage, Daren is my hero . After a Payless rental agent tried to scam me for more money after I had a rental confirmation. It was Daren who restored my faith in mankind, apologized for the way I was treated from Payless . He honored my agreement from the other company. And gave me and upgrade. I was not stranded because of him and advantage rental thank you forever
Am more than happy with the car I rented, but tried to add the toll program and I was told I had to go to place I rented it, which I would have had to go on a roll road to get to. And it took 3 times to try and get ahold of someone to extend the contract. But they did and Im happy.

Renter beware!!! Had relatives come in for a family reunion and they had pre-booked a car online and the guy at the counter refused to honor it !!! He tried to make them pay full rate or nothing. They had already paid online so had to get a refund and go to another rental service. Do not use Advantage rental or you may be left out in the rain- Literally!
They charged me $107 in gas charges after I returned my car with 3/4 tank full of gas!!!! How is that possible? They didnt mention that practice to me when I picked up the keys. When I returned the car, I was late for my flight and they told me not to worry, that theyd email the receipt. And then I get hit with a gas bill that cost just as much as the rental! In what world does 1/4 tank of gas cost $107?!?!?!?!?!!?

I hate to give it two stars, but the morning of return deserved some acknowledgment.Unprofessional, they show up when they want in the morning. San Diego Airport kiosk and personnel are making people panic that they may not make their flight. Real businesses keep their schedules. If you can’t open at 5am as promised, then open at 6am. Then we will all be impressed when your staff show up after 5:30am. The Fox Rental Car next door opened at 4am and had to direct your traffic on where to park and wait!We had a clean car and it was even upgraded for us because we were part of their loyalty program. We appreciated the ease of picking it up, in spite of the insulting crew member who assumed to tell us what our private insurance and credit card do and do not cover. If I am to take full responsibility if there is damage and I insist I am covered- at that point your only investment in arguing in with me is if you think you can convince me to pay more. Rental Car agencies take risks when they buy cars and rent them. They have insurance too. I don’t take risks, we have insurance, that while we may have been bullied into making us believe it covers nothing- in fact covers everything the car rental agencys insurance offered as an up-charge would have covered.It’s a shame, we loved the clean and new car we drove, just hated the business practices we encountered. The only person I could contact about no one showing up to work at the airport on time was the gentleman (on the phone after a frustrating attempt to talk to someone who was working) in roadside assistance! He says he reported the matter, but since no one at their toll free number or direct number can answer the phone, I fear that legitimate complaint may not reach management unless a review is posted.Please Enhance your professional practices and we would love to rent a nice clean car again from you. The price was even wonderful. We will monitor these reviews before reserving again- so I hope the counter help and timeliness improve. We just don’t want a stressful vacation. Thank you for your attention.

Booked online for $120. They charged me $600 in person in additional, undisclosed fees rip off. Dont waste your money, go with a more reputable company
The worst Fing company i have dealt with ever.I arrive 9 minutes late, the counter girl tells me my reservation is cancelled, they gave my car away and I will need to pay extra. I was running late, I didn’t care so I said fine.Then she asked me if I need insurance, I said no, I’m using my own insurance and my credit card (she went ahead and added the insurance, and when initialed it I said I didn’t order insurance, she it will be taken off).I go pick up the car, there was not a side of the car that didn’t have a body damage or dent, the inside smelled like sht and stains everywhere - I tell the guy, response that’s the only car we have.I call customer service, I’m told nothing they can do.I will NEVER ever use these guys....
Buyer beware! I reserved a convertible evolve over a month ago. When I showed up at 10:45 at night, after flying all day, I was told my reservation had expired and there were no more vehicles without a reservation. Yes, no more vehicles and the agent could not possibly have cared less.I walked out, turned right and dropped nearly $1000 on a rental from another company who wanted my business. Id give 0 stars if I could. Buyer beware.

DO NOT go to this car rental. I had a reservation with them and I went Nov 28th, 2017 approx 11:55 pm just before 12 am when they were about to close.The customer service rep guy name Nick (Bald Hispanic guy) got all my information credit card and driving license and prepared the contract and almost done. And then he was trying to sell me insurance. I told him that my credit card covers all the insurance. But he said by the state of California Law I must buy insurance. I told him many times that I visit California many many times but I never buy insurance because my credit card covers it but he kept saying that other agents and other car companies do not know the Law but he does. And again I refused to take insurance and all of a sudden he got up from his chair and said oh your reservation has been canceled since it was for 12 pm not for 12 am and we dont have a car for you and he walked away.I asked him that my reservation is canceled all of a sudden because I didnt buy insurance???? but he didnt listen and walked away.I cant believe that a car company may do this to their customers in the middle of the night. After putting all the information on the computer for almost 15 to 20 mins he said No car??? Because I didnt buy insurance???I very highly recommend to not to go to this company at all. I went to Dollar rent a car next door and got the same deal on spot without online booking.

Great experience with Advantage in San Diego recently. Upgraded us without charge, no additional fees or charges on departure, unlike our previous experience with a competitor in Chicago !! Will definitely rent thru Advantage again.
Its been a great experience so far, I will returned the car this Friday, some car rentals have a bad reputation keeping the deposit without any kind of explanation and not answering the phone, I hope this doesnt happens with advantage because Im planning on returning the car with no additional damage, Im planning on renting a car 5 to 6 times a year and I like advantage as far as Im concerned, I will find out this coming Friday. If they are fear I will definitely stay with them
I have rented many cars in my life and I have never had such a bad experience. I missed my connecting flight so I arrived a few hours later than expected. When I arrived they told me my car was given away and that i should have called. I showed them the traveleocity paper and no where does it say i need to call if i will be a few hours late. They told me Its on the website NICE! So I figured they would offer me a comparable car or an upgrade at no charge since they gave my car away. They wanted to charge me $30 more PER DAY for a camaro. I told them they should charge me the same price. The manager refused and had poor customer service. I was so upset that I went to the Budget counter and rented a smaller car for more money because I vowed never to give my money to a company like Advantage.

The Las Vegas Airport location pulled a bait and switch with five customers before me. Then they tried to do the same to me. They tell you they have no more vehicles left in your category and will upgrade you for a discounted fee per day. I told them NO so they made me wait 45 min. When they stated a car had been returned in my category, I went to retrieve the vehicle and there were TWELVE of the same exact vehicles in the rows parked and available to rent!!! Shame on you Advantage, I will never rent from you again and I will warn others of your shady practice!
Worst rental company ever! Sales rep took forever to check us in. I was told CDW would be $18, so I agreed just to get out of there and not listen to his sales pitch. Surprise! They charged $18/day, which was more than the car itself cost to rent. Then they charged me for an extra hour $8.71 because their lot attendant didnt show up for 15 minutes when we dropped off the car. Instead of paying $94 + tax for a 2 day 2 hour rental, we ended up paying $187.48 for a Camry. Thats over $62/day! Absolute rip-off. Buyer beware.

Quick and easy drop-off and return with an online reservation beforehand... What else do people expect from a car rental company? Beware though that San Diego residents are required to have full-coverage insurance to rent.
Use someone else.They gave us a van when we reserved a Camry. Wasted 1/2 day of 4 day vacations to get contract and vehicle corrected. Up sold insurance and gas fill up at check in even though we declined those options when reserved thru Expedia. Inventory is small, customer care sucks, pay a few extra dollars for a reliable rental. We differently will in the future.
Flight was delayed and tried calling them 3x to let them know I would be an hour late. No answer any time. Upon arrival, they “ran out of cars.” Zero available. I was told I was “second in line” but the gentleman who was “first” in line to pick us his reserved car had been waiting 2 hours. The agent at the counter shrugged and blamed it on the “travel industry.” They get one star for finding an available car at a different company but I still had to pay much more for a bigger car. Won’t be using Advantage again.
Forced me into a midsized when car was to be a compact. Dropped car off at 530 and no one there and NO drop off instructions.
Excellent customer service had us in and out quickly no hassles. Did want to see return flight info, for what ever reason though.
I picked up my rental from San Diego on Aug 17, returning on Aug 19. I opted to use my insurance. 70 miles from San Diego the tire totally blew out and came off the rim.The agent at the kiosk when I returned the car did not bother to look at the video or pics. He was rude and aggressive and told me that it is not Advantage’s responsibility to check every tire on rentals, it is mine 😲 He also informed me that I have to pay for the damaged tire.I took the video as well as the pics to different Tire stores including Costco and every tire shop that I went to told me that that was due to a defective tire.Shame on you guys. I could have killed myself or others and rather than apologize to me for sending me on my trip with a defective tire, you want to charge me for YOUR defective tire. Shame on you 😲😲😲
