What a mess. Priceline reserved us a car here. I would recommend one of the major car rental services. You may pay a bit more (although after all the random fees maybe not), but you will save yourself hours of time. Renting through here added 4 hours to our travel time.
I’ve been in line for an hour watching everyone in line get ripped off and them steal their money. I called and made positive we don’t need anything but our license and credit card and they assured me I didn’t. They now won’t let me rent a car unless I pay $400!!! to use their insurance. Such a rip off.
Horrible. Worst rental experience I ever had. I booked online, but wouldnt let me leave without an insurance upcharge that tripled the rental cost. As the UK was on strict lockdown, what was I to do? Afterwards, despite the expensive insurance purchase, I was charged $569 for a small crack in a side mirror light I have no idea how it got there. Checking out the prices of side mirror light for this model car, the most expensive I found was $45 (US). Horrible company. My confidence in having a car in the UK for $107 ballooned to $860. Total scam. Oh, and my car was covered in mud, and their shuttle to Heathrow was not running, so I had to pay for a taxi as well. Terrible company.
Worst car rental service. Completely unprofessional and sneaky. Tryed to add extra insurance charge when your arrive even when you show proof of your own coverage. Also booked upfront different drop off location and then was told I couldn’t do it. Worst place ever. Do not use!
As you can see in the attachment I book a rental through priceline.com. I selected the option of a suppliers choice car to save some money, however, when I arrived they told me that because I chose the suppliers choice car they will give me a 10 person van. I was surprised and Im a single traveler. Why do they give me a 10 person van? I ask the people in the front deck can I have a smaller car? They told me that this is my only option or I have to pay $20 for the upgrade (from the 10persons van to a smaller car ) I say ok $20. Once they charge me a card and sign the paper then they highlight the item and show it is 20 per day. And I questioned him, you told me it is $20, why is $20 per day. He then told me that its 20 per day, the card is already charged and I ( his) cant do anything or refund it. And I had been forced to take the smaller car (upgrade for a 10 person van to a smaller car) the upgraded charger $140 is more than the entire reservation from Priceline.On the paper, because I chose the option suppliers choice car it makes them legitimate to force me to take the 10 person van (Im a single traveler), without giving me another option other than forcing me to pay $20 to get the normal car. It seems to be legitimate but how humanity forces a young single journey to drive a 10 person van alone. I dont think this is the right way to do business and treat your customer.The way they treat me is against your company philosophy.Open, honest & transparent. I have rented cars many times (Enterprise (mostly), Budget, Thrifty, and National). My experience with Green Motion was not nice. The gas indicator was not full although the guy marked it full. Im glad that I checked it on time. The car was was somewhat dirty as well. I could have rented from a better company for the same price. Bad online deal!

I found this car rental through Skyscanner.com & Im glad I did. Very competitive prices although the off location and 2 shuttle process might be a drag to some, but it wasnt for me. Their USAVE shuttle came for pick up just 5 minutes after I called them in. Mostly what I liked is the great, friendly, wonderful customer service I received from a representative named TEE ! What a gentleman! He accommodate my needs for a CARPLAY car, upgraded me for being a first time customer, took time out of his busy schedule on a very hot day to find the right car for me. Very please with this car rental agency and they definitely gained a loyal customer that will refer them to others.
I had a wonderful experience with this car rental company! I was a little worried after reading some negative reviews but I did not run into one issue. I had never rented a car before but the staff was so helpful and nice with me and answered all my questions. The car I was given was super clean and the price was the best compared to other rental companies in the area. Returning the car was also really easy. I was very pleased with my experience and will definitely be renting from them again.
Great place to rent from! Friendly staff, decent car condition, and pretty generic rates. Perfect for a couple day rental. Pick up took a while... was told it was the only in airport pickup, but is located in the same off site rental complex. Took us a while to get through the process. Otherwise a flawless rental.
Great rental, unbeatable rates, nice employees. Was a little leery after reading other reviews, but this location doesnt seem to have the issues that others do. To be safe I took a lot of pictures before accepting the car, but there was no issue in returning it--the deposit went right back onto my credit card. I am definitely recommending them to anyone going to San Diego.
No problems with my rental here two weeks ago. I had to show proof of insurance before they would allow me to decline their insurance coverage, which was a little inconvenient, but they accepted a digital copy of my insurance card that I showed on my phone. The way they phrase the question: Do you want to go with full coverage, or just the basic? makes it sound like there are only those two choices. You have to say: I decline your insurance and show proof of your own if you dont want to pay extra.All the staff were friendly and helpful. The car was in good working order. They noted the few dents and scratches when I picked it up and didnt try to charge me for them. I paid exactly the price I signed up for when reserving online and nothing extra. I was satisfied with the rental.
I was charged for gasoline. Tank was full when car was turned in. Ive never had this problem with another car rental company before and will never rent from them again. They are getting 2 stars because the rental personnel were polite. But they still charged me.

Absolute worst Car Rental “company” I could have chosen. Calling this even a company is a compliment that it doesn’t deserve, I would call it a group of scam artist. Paid ahead for my car rental for 4 days which originally was posted at $6/day (which seemed very low but hey I chose it because I figured there wouldn’t be false advertising... I guess I was wrong) so I chose the option of paying an extra $10/ day for coverage Incase of an accident. The price should have been about $80 including taxes, BUT it was $110... well alright fine not a huge deal. So I get to California, keep in mind I live on the opposite side of the country with no option of turning back now. So I ask to extend my car rental just 2 days, because my trip ended up having to be longer. All of a sudden they charge me $360!! More than triple the original number because of a 2 day add on?!?! Well thanks for taking advantage of me once I got there. So I drive up to LA from San Diego and there are tolls that take a picture of your license plate and just send you the few dollar bill to pay, assuming they’d send it to the company and tack the few bucks for the toll onto my bill... NOPE, they ended up charging me $200 for going through about $15 worth of tolls!!! This company has robbed me blind and I warn EVERYONE to STAY FAR AWAY from them!!

Fast and efficient. In and out quickly. Friendly people to deal with. The only thing is that at the counter the try to upsell you and add features that are not needed. These features are very costly and are intended to pad their bottom line. They got me with toll roads. I didnt know how many there were around San Diego so I bought pay pass feature.$90.00. should not have but there is no time to think in the check out . Wont get me next time.

First of all at the arrival of our pick up time my husband and I were charged additional insurance fees despite of buying insurance online and not having a proof of our insurance in an electronic form they forced us to BUY ADDITIONAL COVERAGE which was $17 per day. Customer service is terrible here, unfortunately I had forgotten my personal belongings in the one of the compartments and when realized I called back to check if they found my items that were left behind. Yes they did and asked me to send them a prepaid shipping label which I did the very next day. It was a 2 day priority shipping and got there 2 days later. I waited patiently for them to send it back for almost a week but got nothing back. I contacted them several times and finally got a hold of the supervisor PIA - who do not exists according to another supervisor that I spoke with later. However when I spoke with PIA I was told that my items were mailed out the day before I called. SO i waited again for a couple days and did not receive anything. I called again and then I was told that nothing was sent out and they may send out the items that day. I spoke to a supervisor JENNY as she was the person that I spoke with the first time of calling and inquiring about my items that were left behind and she suggested me to send a shipping label ASAP.However when I spoke with Jenny after a week and a half and informed her that I was in need of my personal belongings as they are used on a daily basis- she assured me that my items with be mailed out the same day. I called back later to check the status and then I was told something different by JENNY- the box that I sent was too small to fit my items in which is a total BS because the box that I sent was big enough to fit all the items in.Long story short they never mailed out my personal belongings until this day and are such liars. Im confident that they either threw away my belongings OR one of the employees kept it.PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!!! AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA AND PRESSURED INTO BUYING ADDITIONAL COVERAGE!!

I was charged for an extra day on my rental . I tried to call to call to get the charges reverberated. No one ever answers the phone or returns your phone call. This place is a rip off. The car was returned on time with a full tank of gas. I have the receipt and 2 witnesses to prove it. I have charged them with Fraud through my credit card company. Dont rent here. !!!
BEWARE! This car rental place company has A TON of hidden fees. Online my total for the weekly car rental was about $190. Got to the place and they didn’t allow us to use a debit card unless we signed off on a $800 deposit for the car. Total ended up more than 1k. Then it’s MANDATORY apparently to get insurance for the car which was another fee we didn’t know about. We were restricted on which areas of California we could visit, plus a $150 fee if we broke those restrictions. No one answered the phone when we tried calling about our car rental. Don’t fall for their online price. You’re better off renting from a well known car rental company because this place is a rip off.

Worst car rental experience! Not very friendly staff, and while renting a car in December, I passed a toll road ($6). Three months later, they charged me $175 because of the toll road, and no matter how many times I called and emailed them about the charge, they did not respond.Would absolutely stay away from them!
They attract you by the fake low price initially and never explicitly mention the ridiculous hidden charge that will appear separately on you card later. They charged me $139 for a $6.5 toll, which is a robbery. Customer support wont reply. Avoid at all cost. Will leave a zero star if possible.

I rented from San Diego airport twice and each time they upgraded my car and were very efficient. Their prices were lower than the other car rental places at the airport so I was very happy with everything.
People, beware of this company and their fraudulent business practices. Do not rent from them. I rented for a day with full coverage and the car returned in pristine condition, and found charges for nine days in my credit card. Total of about $800. They only have email for complaint, and no phone number to call. That is another reason to stay away. I had to file a complain with my credit card company. My credit card company (Bank of America) refunded my money and went after them. Green Motion Heathrow in London are not to be trusted. They prey on visitor like myself to England. They will put charges in your credit card you will not notice until you return to your country of origin, or a month later when you get your credit card statement, unless you have online banking like I do. I also made a reservation for a sport BMW. They will not tell you they do not carry BMW product. Only want to give you comparable when you arrive. Big difference between a sport BMW and a Mercedes Benz wagon. Beware, they are Fraudulent.

Car was great. It was a SmartCar. But there service is not as great. They do require a proof of insurance if you decline their insurance. Understandable to an extent. There is a $300 credit card hold or $800 debit card hold. Kinda steep! It is just a big upsale, which I understand car rental agencies like to do. But their people just didnt really care. When you are traveling you dont really feel like not being valued as a customer. Overall feeling is that I wont use their service again because they arent in the business to help their customers.

SCAM. I would have given this company a good review if they didnt scam me into buying rental insurance. My current insurance covers rentals and I also have insurance with my credit card. The employee at the desk told me it was illegal for me to not to buy basic insurance. I told him I didnt need theirs several times and he told me I had to buy it as per California law. So I bought their insurance after the employee wouldnt let me leave without it. I went home and did more research confirming that I didnt need theirs at all. When I called to speak to the manager he asked me why I didnt show the employee my own insurance. I told the manager several times that the employee at the desk never asked to see my own insurance he simply said it was illegal for me not to buy theirs. The manager said he would call me back after he investigated and never did. Theres a reason why these smaller companies all have reviews under 4 stars and the larger companies are all above 4. Had the manager rightfully refunded the money I paid for their extra insurance I would have said this is an honest company, but that was not the case. Go with the bigger companies, yes theyre a bit more expensive but you dont have to worry about being scammed.
We waited in line for about an hour initially, which was frustrating. They try to hard sell insurance to you, and they definitely have a nickel & dime strategy, so be cognizant of additional changes and add-ons along the way. However, if youre careful with those fees and know how to say no, they offer great value.

That was no where to be found on my reservation. WARNING WARNING WARNING ! Do not rent your car from green motion . It is worth it to rent from a bigger named company and to pay a little more .Do not be fooled by their cheap prices because you will pay for it in the end like we did .Here is what happened :1: we reserved and full paid for our rental car . We arrived a couple of hours late, and when we arrived our car was given away . On top of that, they charged us an extra $200 on top of what we paid to rent another car .2: they provided us with a faulty car and tried to pin the damages on us . We looked over our car when we received it and noticed a few dents and scratches but didn’t see anything extreme physically on the outside . The next day, the car started to make really weird noises every time we would accelerate . We called immediately told them this, but since our day was so busy we told them the car seems to be drivable .We returned the car, and about a month later we were informed that they had filed claims with our car insurance saying that we had damaged the under carriage of the car and that we tried to glue the transmission . NONE OF THIS IS TRUE AND THEY WANTED US TO PAY FOR THEIR DAMAGES . They did not inspect the car before giving it to us and they don’t want to admit fault . They have absolutely no proof that we caused any damages yet we are now paying for it .It’s been four months since our trip and we are still dealing with these guys . Not only do they want us to cover for damages, but they are adding additional charges related to the claim ( i.e. administrative fees, etc)All I have to say is this company runs a scam . They are SCAMMERS !!!! They give you a car and charge you for damages you did not cause !Please read up on the company and read the reviews! They are currently under investigation for this exact thing . We are not they only ones they have done this too!DO NOT RENT FROM THEM ! DO NOT RENT FEOM THEM ! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM ! Biggest crooks I have ever dealt with. They charged for insurance after I had already paid and wouldnt refund it once I noticed charges. I then get notified that I had been on a toll road (unknown to me) and my card was charged $75 fee not once but twice plus the toll fee of $27. I had a Jetta for 5 days and paid in total $600 after prepaying $89!!!! Wont return calls and have been hung up on several times! Unbelievable they can be in business!
This place is a total ripoff! I reserved a car and tried to cancel my car reservation (several times and no one didnt answer the phone) and they still charged my credit card!!! I am trying to reach them to recover the charge on my credit card and still they are not answering the the phone!! I am about to call the BBB on them.. I wish they had a zero button because I would have selected it.. another unhappy customer..
This company sucks and rip off. They require you an enormous deposit of 500 U which is equivalent to$617.28. Car rentals normally require a deposit of $200.00. To lure a customer, they asked you to put a small amount of reserve deposit for a car rental. Once you made a reservation, they asked you to block in your credit card 500 Euro. Bad business for Budget rent a car.
MUST READ BEFORE RENTING FROM GREEN MOTION-first of all it was a decent experience. The lady at the check out counter was nice, however it did take 15 minutes of me waiting in line with no one ahead of me. 2 front end counter staff each with one customer. (those customers experience was not as good as mine. One guy was yelling a lot and the other family was having a hard time getting there car, I was scared) the car was clean no problems with the car, it was brand new. the guy at the pick up spot for the car was very nice and polite. Drop off was easy. The guy was very nice. overall good experience there. now the warning.1- Bring your own proof of insurance. Bring the original copy you keep in your car. it will make your life much better!!!! otherwise they will pressure you to buy insurance!2- You have a 2 hour window to pick up your car from the time you said you would be there! I was 6 minutes late and they cancelled my reservation made me pay a fee per day to upgrade my reservation because they have a 2 hour cancellation policy. if you are not there within 2 hours of pick up time, consider yourself cancelled. I was stuck on the tarmac in Calgary for 1.5 hours. I was late by 6 minutes. standing in line for an additional 15 minutes put me 21 minutes over. so they got me for another 92.50. in the future call them if your going to be late!3- Do not get a parking ticket or drive through any TOLLS! they charge an additional 125.00 for each infraction.4- Drop the car of early more than 1 day they charge you. 27.11 per day.everything else is the same as any other car rental.I would compare my experience to buying a car. They love to up sell and high pressure sales whenever possible. I am in the car industry so it doesnt bother me.read the back of your pre inspection form for damage costs when you pick up your car, eg. scratches, dents, rim rash, windshield repairs. all pretty standard. look very carefully at the car with your pick up guy to protect yourself. write everything down! take pictures or a video of your car just in case.I would have given them a 5 star if they didnt penalize me for being 6 minutes late. I would have argued if I was on time. but I wasnt. but that should not have mattered. I pre paid in full for the car in advance. Oh well Live and learn.Hope this helps.
Avoid at all costs. Our flight to San Diego was delayed. We contacted Expedia, who notified Green Motion that the pick up would be around 11PM rather than 5PM. Expedia advised Green Motion understood and would hold car. Upon arrival - Green Motion had NOT kept a vehicle for our use. To add insult to injury, Green Motion is still attempting to charge us for the vehicle by literally lying to Expedia and stating we never showed up. We did communicate, and arrived before they closed, they left us without a vehicle at nearly midnight and now are telling falsehoods. Run away from this company
Scammers. Upcharged me in person with their managers special even though they had a cheaper price advertised online. No service upon complaint. Then they threatened to charge a bogus $300 cleaning fee upon return because they felt like someone might have smoked in the car. At first they said they smelled smoke. When I went out with them to the car, they changed their story, and said they didnt smell smoke but there were a few specs of something in the cup try. The reality is, we did not smoke in the car. Also, there was not any damage to the car to justify such a ridiculous charge. I dont believe for a second theyre going to clean the car, since apparently making accusations is their bread and butter. Completely untrustworthy, unethical business. Skip!
Do not rent from Green Motion. They charged my credit card over $200 a month and half after our trip to San Diego claiming we went on two toll ways. The first person I spoke with on the phone said the option to purchase a toll tag was offered to all customers, but they did not offer it to my husband and myself. When I called back, I spoke with a different representative that said toll options were not in effect during our vacation. I spent 4 days trying to contact their company and none of the employees would transfer me to a supervisor. When I would ask an employee, they said the supervisor would call me back and never did. I am so displeased with the poor management, lack of care for customers, and all of the lies and round about excuses this company puts out. Green motion is a scam. Save yourself some time and energy and go somewhere else.
THIS PLACE IS A SCAMIf I could rate zero, I would!I reserved a car through GreenMotion with a third party website, I think Expedia, for the amount of around $105, stating this was the total cost for 2 day rental. I know this is cheap so I was expecting a few additional charges but not to the extent I got them. When arriving, Green Motion had no record of my reservation. The clerk seemed unconcerned and was very agitated and rude with me but agreed to make me a new reservation. After taking my card info, she informs me that there is an $800 hold on my card if I use a debit card (a lesser amount if you use a credit card). When I told her I was going to check a few other places before making a decision, she told me they could lower the hold to $500.I walked down to chat with two other companies who did not have available vehicles so I came back to Green Motion to continue with my reservation.Once I set myself up for a new reservation she states she will be holding my account for $800. I was confused, because she JUST told me she could do it for $500. Her response.....thats only in some cases when my manager feels like doing it. After I asked politely if she could ask her manager, she aggressively picks up the phone, says 1 sentence, hangs up, and tells me he said no and they can only do $800. What was the point of even telling me they make exceptions??At this point Im in awe that these people are even maintaining a business but I was late and running out of options.Long story short, they charged me an entirely new charge (outside of the $105 I already paid online) of $244.22, and held $800....for a one day rental. I asked several times for clarification that my original online payment of $105 would go towards the $244.22....she told me yes so many times, she was irritated that I kept asking. My worry was exactly this.The only pleasant experience I had was with the gentleman who gave me the keys, the car was clean and nice.This is the scamming part.....two days later I get another charge for $169.49, and ONE MONTH later I get two more charges of $65.58 and $75.00. That is $310.07 higher than the only amount I agreed to and have a receipt paid for.When I attempted to dispute the first charge, its exactly the nightmare youd imagine. The customer service is non-existent, none of their employees are helpful, they have no explanation for why my card was charged and how or when I can speak to someone who can fix it. Thank goodness for Bank Of America and their fraud department. I will definitely be reaching out to a lawyer who specializes in small business Fraud.DO NOT RENT FROM HEREThis place LITERALLY steals your money!

No direction and hidden fees. You sign up online and get the cost. Then you go pick it up and its triple the cost. The also state they are the only one in the airport yet they are in the same location as all the others.

A soon as I showed up to pick up my car that I reserved through Orbitz, which is another company that is very bad and I wish I did not used for my reservation, the guy at the counter denied that I have reserved any car from them at all. He claimed they do not have cars to rent and surprised that I rented one online. Although, I have a confirmation, I ended up not getting a car.The other worst thing is, its been over three months and they did not refund my money yet, despite the fact that orbitz left me a message saying it is been taking care of.NEVER RENT FROM ORBITZ OR THIS CAR COMPANY AGAIN

A women called to me to collect toll fees. was super rude, unprofessional and wanted 128.00 for the fines. I got a letter from the state of California totaling 15.23$. When I asked her about the total she got very rude and short. Rental was dirty and smelled. Go to a better company!!!
Scam - stay away. They dont have a fast-pass on some of their cars. The state of California clocks the toll, but Green Motion doesnt tell you about it until the state charges Green Motion a fee. THEN, Green Motion charges you a $75 fee on top of the state fee. I paid $135.00 for a 3 dollar toll that they never told me about. When I asked for a refund, they refused.
Car smelled so bad we drove with windows down and our first stop was to get an air freshener which still didnt help, passenger seat would not lean back, there were a ton of dents/scratches on the car and I had to reject 3 car seats that were unacceptable before settling with the best out of the options. 1 car seat had the cloth hanging off of it, one had no expiration/manufacturer stickers, and one had a broken clasp on the anchor clip. The one we ultimately settled with was hardly worth $9.99 per day - more like $2.00 total. We would have rather went through the trouble of bringing our own in order to ensure the safety of our child. Though the price of the rental was fair and beat out the competition, in the future we would rather spend more money than to rent with Green Motion again.Terms and conditions of the rental were confusing and mostly not applicable and we incured additional charges due to an international charges on our card. It was also pretty upsetting when we got to the counter and found out that we hadnt already paid for the car seat in our initial purchase of the rental car even though we selected that option during the checkout process.Go somewhere else!!!!
Easy pick up, drop off, and great prices
Car wasnt full. Had trash in it. Shook when driving. Shook when braking. Shook when accelerating up a hill. Their staff didnt care.

Reasonable discount car rental.

After reading the horror stories on here I have decided to cancel my reservation with Green motion
Beware of this rental car agency...rented a car in San Diego apparently went through a toll somewhere...they emailed me that because of the toll I would have to pay the toll fee the late fee which I knrew nothing about and a $75 fee they charge because if it...I was notified a full month after my trip was over so a $6 toll cost me $140....never again

I was told by an employee that the $300 hold charge would be refunded to me after I returned the car. It was not returned to me. Awful awful
