We want to give five stars for the staff and management - especially Daniela Cowan. We recently had some issues with a neighbor who, within a few days of moving in, threw party after party with multiple people coming in and out at all hours of the night and breaking countless complex rules. Daniela was on top of it right away, and was in constant communication with us through the whole process. She was so understanding, and every staff member in the office was so helpful. Thankfully, they handled the situation quickly and quietly to help us and all the surrounding neighbors out. This is such a family-friendly community, and it feels like peace has been restored to our neighborhood. Thank you for your help, Sofi Westview!
I really loved living here such a beautiful home. I highly recommend moving to this wonderful complex. The staff here is the best! Im missing this home already such nice neighbors and a great neighborhood too. Sofi Westview thank you for your excellent service always responding to our maintenance calls quickly. Everyone who works here goes above and beyond. We had a great experience at Sofi Westview we are sad to go.
Awesome place for living. The management page attention at all the inquiries and resolve the problems really fast.
This review is for Chia and Sirem! They have been amazing. Just moved in and they made the process smooth. We came to tour more than once and Chia was nice enough to explain and follow up with us every time there was something new that fit our budget and needs. Sirem made the leasing process easy and was very nice and patient. We have put in a couple of maintenance request and they have been done all within 72 hours...AMAZING. The only thing I dont like is the giant spiders around the community. Hate coming outside my front door and seeing quarter sized spiders in huge webs. Overall 5 star experience .
I would strongly recommend against living here. To sum it up: high utility fees, extra fees on top of those, incompetent office staff, excessive emails and fliers with threats about fines that they never enforce, no security (gates open most of the time), facilities often used by people who don’t live there, gouge you upon move-out, still haven’t received our deposit back after a month. Please note other terrible reviews! When we did our tour to move in, the gal who has by now been promoted to manager was 1.5 hours late. The utility fees are not only high to begin with, but on top of that you are constantly fined for things out of your control (i.e. when people come in and dump their mattresses in your dumpster, which happens more often than you’d think). When we asked the admin office about it, the office admin said, “Yeah that happens.” The office staff is staggeringly incompetent. We get a notice to not park in “future resident” spots and then you see the admin guy’s blue car parked there daily. On top of everything, we still haven’t received our deposit (in these hard economic times, no less!) and the manager refuses to speak to us on the phone. Shame on her and shame on Sofi Westview!
The apartments are nice and they respond quickly to maintenance request. However, when its time to move out they will strip you off every penny they can. They will keep your deposit AND will do their best to charge you extra! We’ve lived here for only 2 years and didn’t have any pets, but we were charged for carpet replacement and deep cleaning (carpet was undamaged and the apartment clean). They kept our deposit and left us with 800$ bill on top!During the two years that we lived here we’ve noticed that there are people constantly moving in and out, every week. The high turnaround is most likely due to the fact that they get you in at a lower rate and raise the rent ~200$ every year after. Additionally, we’ve noticed that there is always a carpet truck around, replacing carpets after every tenant. Take this into consideration before moving in, because you will be paying for carpet replacement and won’t be seeing your deposit.
We’ve been living here for about 6 months now. Yes, the rent is a little steep but San Diego is getting ridiculous now. We are happy as we came from a place with no washer dryer, dishwasher or garage. Here we have all of that, plus central air. The area we live in is very quiet, no rowdy neighbors. Everyone seems very respectful. Maintenance responds to service issues extremely fast (backed up plumbing took them 15 mins to arrive and 30 mins to clear). The common areas are gorgeous and a huge upgrade from what we had. I’m worries rent will go up a ton next year, but any place would at this point. Overall we are very happy with our choice to live here.
I used to live here then I had to leave because the rent is too high. When I moved out, what I received was just such THE WORST service ever. They mailed to my new place to notify I owed them some money although I had paid everything before I left. Like an intimidation letter, it was sent to the debt collector to say I would be in trouble with low credit if I dont pay for that amount of money. Thus, I had to pay first and stopped by the office after that to complain. Ms. Sirem Roman, the property manager, clarified that was their fault and they actually owned me some money (less than what I had to pay previously), and she PROMISED that I would get the refund for what I paid to the debt collector soon. However, after several weeks, all I received was just the amount of money they OWED me. She emailed me and said everything is set 3 weeks ago. But I emailed her back to ask about the refund twice but I havent got any response since then.I will not recommend anyone to try renting and living here. They collect your money, they get fast in a sec, however, if they owe you, it takes forever to receive the refund.
While the premises themselves are great, the leasing office ruins it all. They never pick up the phone or reply to emails. Ive called multiple times and send multiple emails and they never respond. In addition, when they do respond, the help is always sub-par. The leasing office hours were changed so that they are now 10am-6pm on workdays, essentially making it even harder to go in and visit in person. The older staff have left and the new staff members are incredibly disorganized. Multiple times, Ive been told Im new here and I dont know how to do what youre asking. If you never need to contact the office, this place is a great place to live - but the past few weeks have seriously soured my opinion of the compound.
Where do I start. If you want to live in a dog pound, this is where you start. Does not matter what time of day it is, if a car drives buy all the dogs start going crazy. The company put out a notice about dogs but havent done a thing about it and that was months ago. They jack the prices up whenever they can. People moving in to the upgraded homes get cheap stainless steal appliances and the same layout I have. This place is a joke and has been for a long time. We had a toilet malfunction and put in a request and then a week later they sent a letter asking about how well they did fixing the issue and they never came by to fix it!!! This is California standards if Ive ever seen it. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT COME LIVE HERE!!!!!
Wow, I’m pretty shocked at some of these bad reviews because we’ve had nothing but truly excellent service since we moved here Aug 2019. Kwasi was the one who helped us look at available apartments, was never pushy, and he went above & beyond to assist, not only with our numerous questions about the place & area, but with other issues in our transition experience. Whenever we’d see him, he was always friendly, asked how our move was going, and reminded us to let him know if we ever needed anything. Also, when we did have certain maintenance issues, they came right away and Kwasi followed up to make sure everything was okay. Vanessa too was wonderful, I seemed to always get her whenever I’d call for something. Again, always helpful and response time quick. I don’t know about the new management versus the old, but so far, life here has been pretty smooth. The only downfall to our specific location was our WiFi, but we were told by AT&T that the wiring is old here. Thought there wasn’t anything we could do about that...however! When we switched to Spectrum, never anymore problems. We personally compared SO many different apartment complexes around San Diego when relocating here from Hawaii, compared locations & costs for what you get. For us, Sofi Westview honestly was THE best place we hoped to score because our 3-bedroom apt has a 2-car garage, washer & dryer INSIDE, not out on the patio or in a shared space, a perfect-size balcony, a cool little counter/bar where we put stools, central air & heat, and a fireplace too. We didn’t opt for the apt with the newer stainless steel appliances, but our kitchen works just fine. We love it here! And then there’s the amenities, like the gym my teenage boys use everyday, sauna, steam room, pool & hot tub, the pretty fire pit out there, the gameroom, common room w/ kitchen and little business center. It’s awesome. Got everything here, and it’s off Mira Mesa Blvd, far enough from the hustle bustle, but close enough to the great schools, restaurants, movie theater and freeway. There was always something missing at the other places we looked at, so we feel lucky to be living here. And hope any & all service in the future remains just as excellent as it has been for us. Highly recommend!
This place is not worth wasting money and time. The new management is incompetent and unprofessional. From the look outside, it looks like a okay place to live, but the many small inconveniences add up to terrible living experience, including paying rent, parking, noise level, and maintenance issues. They have been giving me incorrect monthly rents that includes varying utility fees every month, and a few months later they made this accusation that the rent is late. This Pinnacle management who took over the Westview Apartments is unbelievably incompetent and treats residents with disrespect at most. I would avoid this place for living.
Im modifying my review to four stars because of a few reasons. First, the prior management left a huge technical mess for new management during the changeover. This caused an issue with my renewal rental rate not being present in the new managements system and an erroneous 3 day pay or quit notice to be sent to me by mistake. This was corrected and management apologized for the error. Management also cleared up a communication issue between themselves and a vendor involving pest control and handled an issue involving rodents taking up residence in my Shelby GT500 to my satisfaction. Given that new management has inherited a mess from prior management, I strongly urge people to make new management aware of your issues and give them the opportunity to try to work it out. New management is genuinely concerned with making a better impression.
When you move out they find a reason to take your deposit and charge you extra money!!!!
Make sure to take plenty of photos and even videos when you move out. They will try and keep every penny. Also, dont plan on calling the office, you wont get anyone. Take an entire day off work so you can talk to someone in person. I waited in the entrance area for someone to help me and a man, avoided eye contact with me and went straight to his office and closed the door.2 stars because the apartment is nice, but there are a lot of nearby apartments that are nice so, this place isnt your only option.Even though my new place walked with me on move in day and we agreed to the condition that day I still took pics and videos.Truely dissappointed, up until now, I had no issues other than affordability.
Be aware: pets must be spayed and neutered! We were frustrated with this management company as their pet policy online says Accept all size pets with breed restrictions. Please call for a list of restrictions. That is not a policy... they need to include all information so you can determine whether or not you should apply. They would not refund the application even though they failed to provide information we needed in making our decision. So ask lots of questions when looking at this company as they are not forth coming with all of their requirements before hand.Despite what I feel like was a dishonest situation, their onsite staff was kind and friendly when we did talk with them.
Beautiful renovation of all the common areas!
My first two years here were great! Nice staff, great neighbors and a beautiful neighborhood. The last year things went down hill. The rent inceased more than the previous years and the staff turnover became high. Despite upgrades to the amenities in the complex the complex was declining. I frequently witnessed people smoking at the pool and other places it was not allowed as well as large dog breeds that were supposed to be banned. Enforcement of the complex rules was gone. I enjoyed using the gym in the morning but frequently the gates and clubhouse doors were locked and the gym was unaccessable. During the move out the manager made the process miserable. They never notified us of the amount we owed for our partial month rent even after multiple phone calls. Then when they billled us as late (via a posting on our door after we moved) the bill was for a full months rent. It took several phone calls and in person visits along with being requored to show evidence of when we contacted them to get it sorted out. The management treated us like thieves and showed us no respect. It was as if they expected us to pay the wrong balance that was double what we owed (over 3k) just to avoid the hassle. They kept most of our security deposit and and ignored our calls and emails asking what the money was used for. We finally received a statement in the mail stating that cleaningfees were to blame (we had no damages). We cleaned before we left. Our apartment had normal wear and tear dor 3 years of living. We were told varpet cleaning was a normal charge for move out (even though while living there we were allowed free carpet cleaning at lease renewal). Apparently high traffic area carpet wear and dirt is not considered normal wear and tear. Carpet was cheap and picked up dirt easily. This used to be a great community and I loved some of my neighbors there who were long teem residents. It was family friendly. But the latest management does not treat residents with respect.
