I rented an apartment for 4 years with them and 4 weeks ago I gave my 30 days notice. They overcharged my last rent and promised that the difference would be in my bank account in 5 business days. It’s been more than 10 business days and they did not give the amount back. I tried to contact them several times and they did not reply my messages either. I really needed the money. It is not a reliable company at all.
The purpose of this post is simply to inform you of the outstanding service I received Shore Management maintenance tech Sal. He called me on Wednesday to set up a time and date to come address the issues in my unit, unfortunately none of the times worked with my work schedule, but I gave him permission to enter the unit without me present. Once he arrived, he sent me a texted message informing me that he was there. He continuously kept me updated with photos of the things he addressed and some things that were in question. Not only was he thorough, he was also attentive, respectful of my home while it was unattended, arrived in a timely matter, performed all the necessary jobs adequately and efficiently, and he was also very pleasant. If in the future I or any other tenant should ever have any maintenance issues, I would highly recommend Sal.- Jackie M.San Diego, 92102
Shore Management began managing the apartment complex Ive been living in for the past five years and they immediately improved my daily life. Repairs that I had been trying to get the previous management company to fix for years to no avail, Shore was able to repair the first time I inquired. Their response time is phenomenal. When there was a leak in the kitchen sink, I contacted them and they had a plumber out within hours. When there was a massive cockroach in my bathroom, they had an exterminator specialist call me that day. I could not give higher words of appraisal to any management company Ive dealt with. Shore is, by far, the most efficient, responsive, and helpful apartment management company any tenant could hope for.
I lived at a place managed by Shore twice. The staff was responsive and fixed maintenance requests promptly. Although, it did take awhile to convince them our refrigerator wasnt working properly, but after a discussion in person they replaced it right away. The application process is easy. The only recommendation Id make is for them to check up on the property more, or to review the place when a roommate moves out to see if there is damage. Additionally, I believe carpet is supposed to be replaced more often and to make updates every 5 years. Otherwise, the place was well maintained and the staff was easy to work with.
I saw a few reviews complain about the credit/background check. They refunded mine as someone else got the apartment. I cant speak to them as an actual landlord though.
Ingrid at Shore Management has been the answer to my prayers. With this housing boom it has been a stressful nightmare to say the least. Today my prayers were answered and I can’t say enough how grateful I am that she went above and beyond to help our family. Thank you Ingrid.
We live next to a property managed by Shore Management, unfortunately, as they have disrespectful tenants and they dont seem to care that they often disturb our small community of neighbors who live very close to each other. They have incredibly loud and disrespectful tenants who have illegal subwoofers and run their cars, music BLASTING and exhaust, late at night, waking neighbors. Last month a neighbor came out and asked them to stop. An hour later, another tenant did the same thing! We wonder if they are doing drugs in the car - its odd they sit in the running car for such lengths.Their tenants have left this cardboard in the street for 12 days now. I have let Shore Management know and nothing has changed. I would not recommend living in or near a property run by Shore Management.Last month I met Martin in maintenance who said hed be happy to help and suggested I send him photos and videos of issues. Hes now directed me to a generic email address and refuses to give me a contact persons name or direct line. Calling their general line at night doesnt change. Well see if they ever reply to my email...
Justin and team at Shore have managed my property for the past 5 years. They have been great in taking care of maintenance and letting me know about any concerns with the property. They take care of rental agreements and have had good tenants present for long periods of time. They give detailed statements each month and summary at the end of year showing all expense and income that makes reporting for taxes easy. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to rent their property.
I was understandably apprehensive when my property manager retired after taking care of my properties for over 30 years. However, Justin has gone above and beyond my expectations! He is always available when I call and updates me often about the properties. This is especially important because I am an out of state owner. He consistently works to negotiate the best price for repairs. He is excellent in dealing with our tenants. I cant say enough about his professionalism and skill.Im happy to recommend him highly and willing to speak to potential clients!
I understand why this company has such low reviews. Pretty simple, they post ads on craigslist and try to offer people places to live. They never rent the places and just make money off of the application fees. This isn’t an ethical business by any means. I’d go with a legit company instead.
Understandable why this place has 1 star. Really ignorant staff that are not good at customer service. Easy pickings for any attorney to grab an easy win. Violates state and federal laws. Good luck renting any future places.
There are simple common sense rules for running any business and this place knows none of those. Inquired about 2 apartments of theres and they apparently only want to rent to certain ethnic backgrounds. Not cool.
Took two applications. I was co-signing for my disabled son. Was all ok.Then they decided that co-signers had to live in the same county. Was never advised of this when applying. They posted on their website today.....after the fact. Violating fair housing act. Not good.
It’s a small company. Applied for an apartment, it was ok nothing special, out dated, location was just by the beach. We were all ready to send deposit and sign lease, and then we actually get the lease and it’s month to month lease. That should have been disclosed to us from the beginning, every other rental place has let us know the terms of the lease before we applied. Just a waist of time in my option, I mean nice people but in comparison to other places we worked with they are definitely lacking. If you go to them be prepared to ask everything you can think of because they just won’t bother to tell you, and to me it is important to know what kind of people your dealing with.
Horrible selection of roach motel like properties at prices beyond what the going price of a place goes for. Id look into credible management companies instead as they only manage properties they own.
Not an honest company and shady questionable properties. They also happen to discriminate against individuals that are disabled and prefer not to rent to them.
Justin and his team are fantastic! A personal touch with his management is always present! Highly recommended!
I rented two different apartments from shore and both were great experiences. They would show up for maintenance quickly when needed and also do a once yearly walkthrough where their maintenance guys proactively take care of stuff before it’s a problem. Got most of my deposit back too, I’d rent from them again and was just checking their website for rentals when I decided to leave a review.
Avoid Shore Management at all costs for the following reasons:1. Their advertised office hours are 9am to 5pm however this is not the case. On several occasions I would try to stop by before or after work at roughly 930am or 430pm and on most occasions nobody was present. It seems that they open and close their office whenever they feel like that day. I would come into work late or leave work early simply to be stood up by their office employees - a complete waste of time.2. It is very hard to get ahold of anybody for maintenance purposes. I would have to leave multiple voice messages and/or emails before anything was returned, much less actually acted upon. In my opinion, its not an emergency response when you have to contact them more than once on multiple days before hearing back.3. I did not receive my deposit back until over 40 days after I moved out of the property. Im not a lawyer, but I dont think this is in accordance with state law. Their reasoning was that I paid the full months rent (as they instructed!) even though according to my thirty day notice I was vacating mid-month. To top it off, they never refunded the last months rent for the 29 days that I wasnt living there! Its not so much about the money as it is the principal. Time is money and I just dont have the time to go through all sorts of hoops to try to get it back, but I do have the time to write a review and try to save you folks from falling into the same horrible situation as me!In summation, poor service and even poorer ethics are the two reasons to avoid this management company. There are plenty of other alternatives, I suggest you consider them first.
I had an apartment I was ready to move into and this company said that due to the co-signer being out of the county that they could not rent to me. This is a violation of the fair housing act. A total waste of my time.
Beat costumer service and good locations!
