Van came out the next day for an AC radiator repair. I was very impressed with the service. I will recommend this company to my neighbors and will certainly use them again.

Our old A/C system was getting noisier and the fan on the top of unit didnt always start turning when the unit came on. We called Airmakers and Van came out the next day and looked it over - he explained we could fix the unit we had or replace it with another one with the same energy rating and it wouldnt cost too much.We talked Van into to upgrading our air conditioner and furnace to a SEER 16 system to save a little on the monthly bill but mostly to get a quieter system and get everything replaced at one time by the same company (the setup we had was from 3 different installers).He listened to us and worked with us so we could get exactly what we wanted at a reasonable price.Our neighbor (we live in a mobile home park) came over the next day to say how quiet the A/C was and now she didnt have to shut her windows when it came on. And its much quieter inside since they put a new grill on the uptake vent. They also installed a vent in the kitchen which we have been wanting since we moved in 10 years ago!Van and his team did a wonderful job - all very pleasant and hard working, came on time and stayed to get it all done the same day.The only problem we had was with the new thermostat we requested.It worked fine but it took us a while to to get the scheduling to work the way we wanted - now we love it.Thanks so much Van - we couldnt be happier!

Very professional service and responsive to our needs. Originally scheduled a quote to have a mini split installed due to a Costco-affiliated air conditioning and heating company quoting us over $10k for central air conditioning. The owner came out himself for the quote, inspected what he was working with and instead of having us pay nearly the same to have a mini split installed, quoted us a reasonable central air conditioning proposal with top quality equipment for half of the Costco-affiliated quote. Within the week, we had brand new top-end central air for an affordable price. Runs smoothly and the house is so much more comfortable! Feels like a whole new house at a reasonable price. Highly recommend their services!

My A/C condenser unit stopped working yesterday. Gave Van a call and he walked me through a couple things over the phone and then said he would come over and take a look. 15 minutes later he arrived and not even 10 minutes after that, my A/C was running again!A fuse had blown and just needed to be replaced - he took care of it for FREE!My family has used Vans services for about 15 years now on two different properties and both my wife and I recommend Airmakers to anyone who needs HVAC. The heater at our new house wouldnt turn on so I called Airmakers because we had used them a couple times at our previous home. Van has always done great work and been conservative in his diagnosis of what needs to be repaired/replaced. Hes reliable, shows up on time and gets right to work. Hes always given us a good price as well. This time he came and was up in the attic where our furnace is for awhile working on it. When he came down it had started working again and he said he had just had to adjust some things and tighten the connection of a part that had been jostled loose. He said there was no charge. I appreciate his honesty and willingness to spend the time to get it working even without charging us. We would recommend Airmakers and will definitely call them with any issues in the future.

Van Johnson is amazing. Our heater was not working and a prior company had recommended a complete replacement for a couple thousands dollars... my handyman referred us to Van for a second opinion and he came promptly the very next day and diagnosed a small part replacement need and fixed it in 5 minutes for less than $200. He performs an honest and accurate job and we are so grateful for his work!! Highly highly recommended!!

A previous reviewer said nice, honest people who do good, reasonably-priced work and thats the best description we can give. The owner Van is as low-key and straight forward as anyone can be. His main guy Carlos was competent and accommodating. We had some difficulty accessing ductwork to replace, but Carlos worked with my husband to get it done. It was above and beyond and we appreciated it very much.

Van installed my furnace. I had a problem, my gas line was off, but I called and Van was over that morning. Fixed it (opened the gas line). Didnt think to look, but anyway great company!

Fantastic work! Im not one to usually write reviews, but Van asked me to and I am very happy to do so. He is a very nice young man and very knowledgeable about his craft. Great work. The owner himself came to our house repaired a faulty thermostat, and shared some helpful info on the use and maintenance of the unit. I build homes every few years and have a good feel for those who talk- and those who work- without complaint. Van and his crew are definitely the latter.

Van came over to fix my heater. Dead on time, as promised. Turned out the gas had been shut off. He turned one valve and I was back in business. Then, something incredible happened: he gave me a ridiculously reduced rate because he felt guilty that it was a 5-sec. fix. I then asked him about installing an A/C unit and he gave me an in-depth analysis of my various options. I appreciate Vans honesty, his integrity, his generosity. Called about a fan motor that wouldnt turn off after heating/cooling. Van came out and took care of the problem. He made sure that everything was functioning as it should. That company was Sherlock.The second company was Airmakers. Owner Van Johnson came personally for the consultation. At that time I was at work so Van spoke with my wife instead. My wife never felt pressured or up sold on anything. Van came in with a great offer, way below of what Sherlock had offered.The third company was Mauzy. The Mauzy Rep was just as pleasant as Van. They also came in with a great offer.After the wife and I had The talk, we decided to go with Mauzy just for the single fact that they offered a little more perks in their package.I decided to call Van to let him know that we were gonna go with another company, and Van just asked a simple question. Why?When I told him the reasons why we decided to go with Mauzy, not only did he match the perks from Mauzy, he dropped the price significantly enough that there was no question who I was going to go with... Airmakers.The day of installation, the Airmakers crew came in on time. I met Carlos at the door and he explained what they were going to do that day. They were done in about an hour and a half. One of the best contractors I ever hired for my home. Van is the man! I hired him for what i thought was a severe problem with my ac during one of the hottest times of the year. i thought i was screwed because i couldnt afford to change out my central air unit, but was going to pay it regardless. When Van came up, it turned out to be a problem with my thermostat. he totally could have taken advantage of me and billed me for a lot more (I was prepared to pay it), but he didnt. This is an honest contractor. So so so recommend Airmakers!!!

We know the heat is coming and our old air conditioning system doesn’t always work. I could never figure out if it was the thermostat or the whole system, but I was ready to pay big bucks to get this thing working properly. I called several companies, but Airmakers was the only one in San Diego who would come out that day. Van, I think he’s the owner, checked the system and knew right away that it was the thermostat.Really, he could have said anything because he know I was willing to buy an entire knew central heating and cooling system, but the new thermostat cost less than $100. It works great now. This is a company that really looks out for the consumer and doesn’t over charge just to make a buck. We live on the border of Hillcrest and Mission Hills, some even consider it Bankers Hill, San Diego. We have an old home with what could have possibly been an even older furnace. No A/C. My partner and I had simply had enough with the whole thing and its unreliable temperatures. It would spew out hot air on the hottest day of summer and barely warm up enough to warm my partner’s cold toes at night in winter.New heating was a must and air conditioning was a hopeful, but frankly, we did not think we could afford both. We hired Airmakers based on a referral we got from our son. He couldnt say enough about these guys, but we checked their reviews online regardless. Theyve pretty much got five stars across the board and I have to say, same here. We just hired them for service and not installation, but Van Johnson came up and checked everything out to make sure we were ready for the summer. He was polite, thorough and very affordable. Now I hire them any time I need an inspection. If the heat pump or air conditioning unit ever goes out or needs changing, there is only one company well call to take care of it. Van at Airmakers has got our business.

I read all of these great reviews and I cant imagine you all as liars,however my experience working with this company has been a complete and total nightmare.Paid Van in full IN ADVANCE $4150.00 to install a brand new BRYANT 2 and 1/2 ton A/C unit. I was leaving for vacation so Van wanted to be paid before I left.Having owned a small business myself,I totally understood him not trusting.When I returned I found my queen sized air mattress in my garage that his workers used to drop their tools on to be ruined. I called Van,and after much attitude,he replaced my air mattress. This is just the beginning of the nightmare,the A/C has broken down 3 times since 6/15/14,3 times in 3 months.Broken down THREE times in THREE MONTHS and it is BRAND NEW !!!Fed up with Van,I called Bryant the manufacturer direct. 10/9/14They informed me the product must be registered within the first 3 months,and Van never bothered to register the product.Van and AIRMAKERS are not on their list of approved contractors.None of the warranty paperwork was filled out for my homeowners book either.Like I said,it was a race to get out of here,once I wrote the check.Van has been here 3 times to service the unit,once he said it was a leak,next he said it was the compressor,then the last time,he said in 22 years,I have never had a problem like this,I dont know what is wrongWhen I suggested my NEW SYSTEM was a lemon,,and he should just replace it,,he scoffed.This guy changes faces once he is paid.BEWAREI have a 89 yr old father with heart problems.Van has promised me,,,each time he comes out,,he will drop what he is doing if I need help,,each time that has equated to his last service call for the week,,,4 pm on Fridays.My next step is to call a lawyer.Stay tuned as this soap continues,,,
