The line can be long, yes, but every time I go there, about every 3 months, there are discounts you can ask about to apply to your oil change. It is quick and they will have conversation with you if you start one! They are kind and tell you the facts as well, from what I can tell.They told me I had almost no oil in my car, it had been about 7 months, and said there was an oil leak they couldnt locate and oil was all over the bottom of the car!I asked the previous owner about it and they confirmed they got the car inspected and it was an oil leak in an unknown location! It seems to have gotten worse over time, so they werent just saying random nonsense about my car. They are honest about what they do at this location.I always go here when I need an oil change, and they refill my windshield wiper fluid for free pretty much every time, very kind. There is also a car inspection line to get your car an approved inspection which is pretty quick and only like $5-10, Ive gotten an inspection once for my registration renewal..Its quick, decently priced + discount coupons (including competitor coupons), and they talk with you if you want them to. Very professional. I would recommend Valvoline for your oil changes.

So glad I read the reviews I was keen to ask what lane to get into. Unfortunately I was here nearly an hour for a vehicle inspection. It was busy! Nevertheless, I was very impressed with how professional and safe they were working.My inspection itself was probably less than 5 minutes but I was impressed to see that each bay literally has a camera and screen where you can observe your filter be changed. I thought that was fantastic!State inspection was $7.00 definitely find out peak hours before going.

Everyone at this location seems on top of things. The employees are friendly, easy going, and professional. Scott is especially great, he really shines at his job, which is difficult considering how good everyone else seems. Im definitely returning to the stone oak location. In the future.

2nd time here, both times waited over a hour and a half. Thought the first time was just unfortunate timing. That is not the case. I love using vavoline but this location is abysmal compared to the other locations. Spend a little more gas to go to another location.

By far one of the BEST experiences I have had with getting my oil changed. The manager himself did my oil change and transmission. Super friendly staff and were super fast and stayed open for other costumers 30 minutes after they were suppose to close. I will always get my car serviced here! upset I didnt find them sooner.

Nina was incredible! I only came in for an oil change, but had a question about some A/C issues I was having. She was the first mechanic who seemed to understand exactly what I was referring to, and I will definitely be coming back to get my A/C serviced here.

Great service! Robert, one of the managers, provided a full service and helped me use some coupons to get some good deals on an air filter replacement, tire rotation and oil change. Told me that even if you have an expired coupon, they will take it.

If you promise a 15 minutes oil change and I have to wait more than an hour, there is a problem in your marketing department. I was only one car behind the one the technician was working on and five cars arrived after me, went through different lanes, finished their service and left, and that technician was still working in the same car. There is no problem giving a service for one hour, the problem is when you set an unreal time for that service. Maybe the cars coming should wait in the same order they arrive and move in only when one of the spot is ready.

Great folks, thoroughly professional, a very dedicated and well synchronized sequence of steps from start to finish. They are fast, yet very focused to the details, all the engine checks towards performing the oil change and other stuff very well done!! Keep up the good work !! It was nice that they were open on a Sunday. This definitely helps when you have to work a lot. The staff was super professional and quick. They ensured everything was checked and done properly. Amazing customer service, it was a bit busy when we went but they checked our wipers while in line, break lights etc which made it feel like we were being taken care of before we arrived at the actual service spot under the garage. They were thourough, sincere, helpful and quick!

I needed a top off of windshield wiper fluid. James took care of me! There was along line waiting for an oil change but he helped me out real quick. Worst experience in 17 years coming to this service location for Texas State Vehicle Inspection.  I waited 45 minutes, even though Frank, On-Site Manager knew I was there for Vehicle Inspection after 15 minutes of waiting in the center bay of three and did not disclose the far right lane did Vehicle Inspections and was not marked or labelled as such.  I would have waited an additional 20-25 minutes more hadnt I moved to that bay.  I watched three other vehicles cruise through unlabeled inspection lane that got there after I choose the center lane.  Manager said, Do you want to go back to that lane, you will still be waiting?  Previous management handled and checked in folks and labelled cars with numbered tents to better manage customers expectations and get them in the correct lane depending on services to be rendered. FYI: Texas State Vehicle Inspection took 13 minutes.

This place always has excellent service. Very professional and polite. We had a gentleman by the name of Blake this last visit and he was top notch. Highly recommend this place for your car needs.

James did the best job and gave the best service I’ve ever gotten with any sort of vehicle servicing. He went out of his way to help me even though the job became harder do, due to other events. If you go here I recommend the hELl out of James.

I have been going to this valvoline for 3 years since I moved to San Antonio. Every time I go the service is nothing short of 110% the staff is extremely knowledgeable and can answer and explain all my questions. I have NEVER had a bad experience here and I trust them with my car and to show integrity and care every time I come.

Would have given 5 stars but the service took 45 min. I wasnt sure why. It seemed like the workers were joking around a little too much and taking their time. Quality was great and workers were very professional.

Damaged my exhaust sensor and tried to play it off that it wasn’t them. Had to show that I didn’t have warnings prior. Did a coolant change and the people don’t know about different coolants for different engines. They don’t even know what’s in each container when I called to follow up to top up. Good service but you run the risk of grenading your engine due to lack of basic knowledge.

Would be helpful to inform customers which bays are reserved for which kind of services. I was their to get vehicle inspection done. A representative asked me to move the vehicle to different bay then I had pulled in after 5 minutes of waiting in initial bay without explanation. Then saw cars who have come in after me get serviced before me moved to the empty bay. Had to go out of my vehicle and ask another rep why that was so. All this could have been avoided by either posting on the bay which bay is for inspections only or when rep asked me to move why was he moving and warn other cars will go in prior to me, as they are there for different services.

I went for my annual inspection, nicely done as usual. A little wait depending on time of day.

Ridiculous. Going for a car inspection. One bay occupied by a car being serviced. Two other empty bays. Empty! Yet they make me (and two other cars waiting for inspections) wait behind the one car being serviced. They will only let me go to one of the empty bays if I also buy an oil change. I’ve now been waiting more than 25 minutes and that same car is being serviced. Utterly ridiculous.

Try again my car inspected take me an hour and a 1/2 to 2 hours fell asleep multiple times will waiting but they didnt get mad overall

Highly disappointed with the lack of professionalism of this store recently! I have taken my vehicles to this site over 12 years now, but over the past few months, I have NEVER experienced such poor Customer Service from a staff and Management. The first time I went there for an Motorcycle Inspection, I waited for close to an hour, as I saw the Manager direct several cars to move around to different bays. Unfortunately, this resulted in a lot of chaos, because cars were backing up and moving around to other service bays. A few Customers that had been waiting longer than me, showed signs of confusion since they showed up sooner than the cars being placed in the front. I mentioned this problem to the Manager and he responded, “I got this”! Therefore, I waited several minutes longer and watched numerous other cars that showed up after me, continually depart. It wasn’t until about 45min to an hour later, I finally received my Inspection paperwork and left. I thought about leaving sooner, however I kept telling myself it would not be much longer, as I gave them the benefit of the doubt.Then, yesterday morning, I drove to get another one of my cars Inspected at the same Valvoline location in Stone Oak, since there were “ZERO” cars waiting in the line, as the shop had just opened. The same Manager and another staff worker was there in the Bays, one opening up boxes, while the Manager stood behind the computer desk. The shop was already opened for business, as I waited in my car for a good 5min with no other car I the parking lot. Frustrated again for waiting, I decided to leave and drive down to Take 5 Oil Change Shop, 1604/Stone Oak.Luckily, Take 5 Oil Change Shop was totally opposite in dealing with Customers. I received GREAT Customer Service by both worker and Manager. The Manager’s name was Christopher, and did not hesitate in providing a friendly smile and immediate assistance.Therefore, even though I have patronized Valvoline of Stone Oak for over 12 years, I will no longer take my cars or motorcycle for ANY services to this location! Take 5 Oil Change Shop has earned my business and thank you Take 5 the quality Customer Service!

I’ve been or tried coming three or four different times now to this location and I’m sorry but I will never come here again. I always wait like 45mins just for a oil change, then try to sell me on everything, never even check in and let me know if they are running behind, someone is in training so it’s taking longer or even we’ll be ready in a couple mins for you. I never go at a busy time I’m always the next one to pull through. To me it’s common courtesy to check in with you customers and let us know what’s going on before waiting 45mins just sitting there

Came twice in the same day to have both my vehicle’s oil changed and get them inspected. Robert helped me out both times, he was very friendly and helpful, and made my experience very pleasant. Will definitely be coming back for any other services my vehicles need.

During my oil change one of the service technicians that was working on my vehicle lost the clip that closes the air filter area on my 2020 Accord. I was told that I would receive a phone call once the part was ordered and got to the store. After a month that has gone by and 2 calls I made to this location I have yet to receive the part or a call back. I will be filing BBB against this business Monday morning.

I rarely (if ever) give a 5 star review to any establishment, unless I was met with the perfect ratio of professionalism, customer service, and value...which was exactly my experience at this Valvoline. Every employee asked how my day was and appeared genuine to facilitate a good customer experience. I was also made aware that several of these employees are veterans/ or retired military....another reason to support this company. They were able to work (with simplicity) on my old 1978 Jeep; which other service shops struggled with in the past. Very Happy

Deceptive and dishonest.Up sale of synthetic oil to a female driver.Needed basic oil change and they asked me if I wanted synthetic oil for 89.00$ I Told him no..... charged me over 101.00 dollars and refused to provide me a receipt. I notice them filling the car with oil in a generic plastic filling device. No evidence I even received synthetic oil. Looking at the Valvoline website you can clearly see the synthetic blend is a red colored plastic and the full synthetic is grey with a black label.When I called Jeff to ask him to email me a copy of my receipt he refused and was unhelpful. I just got off the phone with cooperate HQ and took care of the situation.

Brought my Acura in for an oil change and a tire rotation. It was timely and they were so informative. They checked my air cabin filter which was terrible so that got replaced, and of course they checked everything else in my car as well and let me know how my girl is doing. They offer military discount which is always appreciated. I was blown away by the service I received today at “an oil change place.” Yep, I couldn’t believe it. Oil change took 9 minutes from start to finish. They have a timer in the computer screen right outside your vehicle. I even got to wait in my truck as they did it and they have cameras underneath so you can see they’re doing the work! Nuts! Every single person in there acknowledged me and did a fantastic job of making me feel important. I highly recommend.

The Manager Robert went above and beyond for my Jeep. She has over 248,000 miles!! He explained all the services well and never pressured me to take on extra services. I had an issue with my air and he did all he could to make it right!!! Above my expectations!!!

I went in a couple weeks ago to have my inspection done and oil changed on our car. They went above and beyond with their service. They were super friendly and even took the time out to change the light in our car which was a pain to change but they did it willingly and with a smile. Great attitudes! Great service! The following day I went back to take our truck to have the same thing done. Again, they provided friendly, quick and wonderful service! It’s my go to place for the past 6 years living in SA. I come here regularly and they always do quality work which keeps me coming back. The Valvoline app (which offers discounts/coupons) told me my estimated wait time was 5 minutes when I was 4th in line and all 3 lanes were at least 4 cars deep. I was already in line when I downloaded the app so no biggie, but had I driven here under the false pretense that I could expect a 5 minute wait as opposed to the 55 minutes I waited, I might have felt differently about it. That said, if you want your car serviced correctly, this place has never disappointed.

I had my state inspection for my VW here on June 18th. Staffs were friendly and fast.

Pretty much the slowest quick oil change station in town. I watched my beard grow at least 2, maybe even 3 mm. while waiting for an inspection. Two bays were open, apparently only 1 person in the universe can perform this function. Also, theres really no point in complaining. If you look through the other posts, they pretty much give you a phone number and email to share your experience that goes absolutley nowhere.

The workers here are awesome, super efficient, and pay attention to detail. They check almost everything when you go to get your oil changed and let you know what other services you can have done while there.

Terribly disappointed. The service was very slow. It took over 37 minutes for just our oil change, no frills. I was not made aware of the price until after the work was complete and they did not have the appropriate tools to reset the oil change reminder on our late model Tiguan.

The tech stripped a screw on my air cleaner cover and then failed to tighten it. $120 for a synthetic oil change, poor workmanship not checking work, improper tools resulting in damage to my fasteners. Had I not checked their work my air cleaner would leak and lead to premature engine wear. This is a simple job simply poorly executed.

Originally I had posted the following “Amazing service! Quick and precise. They communicate with clients very well and exceed expectations. highly recommend!!!” However I had notice a problem with the ac soon after. They had changed the filter so I went back and asked they take a look. I was advised that all was working well. Weeks passed and I took the vehicle to get checked elsewhere only to be told that the $45.00 filter they had installed was not installed correctly and not even the right size. Valvoline was give two opportunities to solve this and failed to do so. Be cautious, looks can be deceiving...

Until yesterday, I had taken my car to another business for the past 5 or 6 years. Although considerably less expensive ($21 with coupon), I always had to wait 2-plus hours for an oil & filter change. Based on positive Yelp and Google reviews, I gave Valvoline Instant Oil Change a shot. I arrived on busy Saturday afternoon and was customer #5 (plus the 3 vehicles occupying the service bays). I declined the upgraded oil (waste of money). They gave me a basic oil & filter change, topped off my fluids, and checked the air pressure in my tires and my battery. Technician showed me the oil level on the dipstick - a first anywhere. They were fast and friendly. Price $41.41 minus military discount dropped it to $35. Forty-five minutes later, I was pulling out! So, was it worth 2 hours of my time to pay $14 extra? Heck yes. Im never going back to the other business.

We normally use Valvoline for our oil changes. We use the full synthetic because our cars are over 10 years old but still going strong. They will keep a good record of your cars maintenance records with suggested items to take care of. They generally just suggest and not pressure on the extra items that might be due. Also a good place for the yearly car inspection.

I changed my poor rating to a great one! Last year there were problems but they seem to have them corrected. I just got my car inspected and it was easy and the employees were fantastic and friendly. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I will be sure to tell everyone how seamless my experience was 👏🏻Not a good experience today. We dropped off our car and walked to Canes to eat. When we got back 3 cars that came after us were finishing up. So I sat with my 9 month old baby in the July heat while they STARTED my inspection. The explainton was that theyre short staffed. That means you dont go in order? We usually have a great experience here. I hope this is not an indication that theyre slipping in their services.

I do my own oil changes in my driveway. I go here for my state inspection. From just observing the guys that are doing the service, I can almost guarantee they are doing exactly what you are paying for. I have just been spooked by those news reports where these lube places are ripping people off.
