I like getting the American set, classic and simple. They do all kinds of glamour nails and luxurious looking nail sets. I just stick to what I know. Highly recommend this place.!

The service is excellent. I love how the staff interacted with the customers. They give excellent quality and efficiency for their price. These cost me $60. I am very satisfied with the service quality of my nails. The place is very clean and comfortable the wait time is very short to none at all.

No wait time, the guy did my nails pretty fast. I paid $50 for my set which I think is a bit too much for plain nails. I asked for coffin & some of my nails dont even look coffin . Overall my experience at modern nails was ok.

They r excellent. Very clean and they all speak good, understandable English.

They only have 2 good nail techs which are the owners. The other ones are either rude or don’t know what they’re doing ! I use to come before the pandemic and loved my nails . The last few times were horrible. And very over priced! One of my nails cracked after a week. Unless you have Leu or her husband as your nail tech don’t get your nails done here.

I loved it. The friendly people speak English I could understand and communicate with. I had an enjoyable conversation. Ronnie did my full pedicure. He was young, kind and considerate. I normally hate going but this was a pleasant experience. The place is clean and orderly. No TV. So if you want to watch something take your earphones and watch on your cellphone. I will definitely go back.

I got a great pedi so I thought id schedule a nail appointment for a few days later, I showed them exactly what I wanted and asked for a price before my appointment and they seemed to have no issue all was great gave me a price so I booked. I show up get seen 15 mins later they asked me to pick the colors after I showed them the pic again. Then they said they didnt have those colors.... then I asked for nude to black stiletto ombre...I got patchy black glitter tips with almond shape even after I told them to go sharper.... worst set of my life. Didnt have time to go back and fix... so sad

The owners are LITERALLY the ABSOLUTE best. Theyre skilled. Ive never been disappointed. From what I can recall, theyve remembered my name from the very first visit. They welcome their customers by name when you walk in. Theyre so awesome! I cant say enough. Everyone leaves so happy.

I’m sorry to say this is my visit, they didn’t listen to what I went in for and my polish isn’t even neat. I asked for a luxury pedicure and the guy even though he is very nice as well as everyone that works there. All I got was a basic pedicure and it was $48 so i don’t even know what I paid for if all he did was trim,clean, cut my nails,foot scrub, and lotion on my legs and feet. Maybe it was just me but I cannot refer anyone here.

Over priced for the quality and service they offer. They don’t even offer refreshments; unlike other salons. Horrible location that charges La Cantera prices. I paid $108 for fills and a pedicure. They charge an additional $23 for shellac on a $25 pedicure that didn’t include hot towels. Fills with coffin shape were $60. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never come back here again. Do not waste your money for poor quality and service.

The nail tech. Who worked on me he paid more attention to him phone he keeped stoping to check on his phone. Then had the nerve to get mad when I asked him if someelse can finish my manicure. He said to me NO. So he finished me up he had the never to ask for a tip. Never again.

Paid $168 to take off my nails and put a new set and for a pedicure with shellac. $7 each nail forRhinestones, $7 each nail for a different color, charged more for coffin shape. Paid $35 for my 4 year old to get her hands and feet. Way over priced for their service. It was horrible.Wasn’t even offered a drink and they knew how much we were going to pay. Water was cold on pedicure asked for it more hot and I was given an attitude. I will never go here again or recommend it for for anyone else to go

“Man” was good did my nails nicely in a prompt manner. No appointment needed, walked in and was seated in 5 minutes . They had allot of workers and I came in right at opening time. Atmosphere was clean and friendly.Will be going back soon🙂.

So Im at my HAPPY place, MODERN NAILS one of the best nail salons in town. They opened their doors in 2013 and are very courteous and friendly. This husband and wife team are amazing. Lieu does all free hand nail art. Im sitting here reading some of the horrible LIES that some people have taken all day to elaborate. Ive been here in salon when theyve been very busy and NEVER witnessed them being Rude nor ugly to any customer. We usually schedule our appointments but have walked in a few times as all. NEVER have I been turned away. Ive been reminded its best to schedule appointments but not necessary unless I dont mind waiting. its horrible how people lie to make themselves feel good about themselves. OMG if you want quality work and a friendly salon to relax at visit MODERN NAILS and see why its my HAPPY place.

I walked into Modern Nails with the most terrible nails that I had got done at another nail salon. Twan was so helpful and took care of me as soon as I walked in the door. I was also on my lunch, and he made sure he had them done in time. Im in love with the way my nails turned out, and I will be attending this nail salon for now on.

Im new to the world of getting my nails done, all I can is that modern nails work on the 3 sets Ive had so far has been great. Ive seen some poorly done nails done at other places. You dont have to worry about that with modern nails! They take pride in their work. I highly reccomend this salon.

Modern Nails is the only place I trust to get my nails done. Every tech is experienced, talented and friendly. I bring new ideas in and they are able to replicate the design or even do it better than the original. Very clean, efficient, reasonably priced. This is truly the best nail salon Ive ever been to!

Ive been coming here for year and the service is always the same, TOP NOTCH. I wouldnt go anywhere else to get my manicure or pedicure. Lou is amazing and her nail art is always on point. No other nail techs I trust more than the staff at Modern Nails.

This place was horrible. Brought in a few people with me to try it, and they rushed through us. My nails are not the length I wanted, I told him they were to short, but he said it would look okay. My nails are bumpy and uneven. Paid an extra $5 for coffin shape and they are squared. Yes this place is cheap, but you definitely get what you paid for. I will never come back to this place.

I’ve never received a pedicure before but boy was that a relaxing experience! I walked in without an appointment and waited less than five minutes, then sat in a comfy massage chairs while my feet were soaking in warm running water. The lady then asked which service I wanted and described which price entails, to which I got the deluxe pedi for $35. While the massage chair was working, she trimmed, cleaned and took care of my feet. I received so many great and relaxing services for only $35! It also included a scrub, foot mask, hot towel, and massage. I love Modern Nails and recommend them to everyone, the place is clean and the staff are funny and friendly. 5/5! I’ll definitely visit again!

I don’t know why this place has such high ratings. I got the dip powder and they literally started chipping that day. The clear polish on top was peeling two days later. I went to get them fixed and the guy left me with a huge bump in the polish (I guess he didn’t file enough) but I noticed when I walked out and I don’t want to go back again.I got a pedicure regular polish.. also peeled off that night. The pedicure was mediocre. They didn’t wrap in a hot towel or even scrape the bottom of my feet. Nothing was put in the water and the massage literally lasted about 15 seconds for each leg. This place was recommended to me and a friend and she had about the same experience. If you’re ok with high prices for mediocrity then come here.

My sister and I went in today 07/09/17 to get pedicures and manicures. Two gentlemen assisted us. They were extremely rough!! I have never been this displeased with a pedicure. My nail tech cut off too much skin on my pinky toe and kept trying to hide it as if I didnt see it bleeding or felt the pain. They didnt file down our nails and proceeded to paint them and did a horrible job. I didnt notice until I walked out and actually saw my feet. I will never go back to this place. It was my first time and it will be my last.

Ive gone to Lieu and Tuan for years, even followed them when they bought this salon. They only hire the best of the best so regardless of who does your nails, youll love them! Not only do they guarantee their nails, they have a lot of different colors to choose from (polish, shellac and powders). I ALWAYS get compliments on my nails, even if only one finger has a design. As picky as I am, I wouldnt choose anyone other than the Modern Nail crew to do my nails!! Lieu is always willing to try new designs and does not hesitate to fix anything if youre unhappy (which is rare)...Modern Nail provides great services for great prices. Best salon in town!!and BTW if youre upset about the wait, then you should have made an appointment. Priority first. Perfection takes times. Lieus shop is almost ALWAYS packed, dont walk in and assume no one had an appointment and that you should be first.

Been going to lieu for years now and she never fails me! LOVE LOVE going here. I am always getting compliments on my nails from all my customers at work. I always leave satisfied. Great customer service. And to the person who keeps on emphasizing her ONE NAIL, i understand why you would be upset but any where you go appointments are the first ones they take care of. If it were me i would have called and asked if they were busy and if i could stop by to fix my ONE NAIL. But anyways, yes they get super busy and so making an appointment is advised. I promise you will love Modern Nails just as much as i do! :)

Have gone 3 times, the first time the guy did not answer or talk to me at all and changed his price for getting my index finger a different color(should be free) the second time my middle nail came off the same day without a problem and 3rd time the same lady from the 2nd time was so rude n mad cause they can replace a nail for free if its been less than 3 weeks(second lady to the right) Went 3 times too many worst place ive gone to

The tall nail tech I had was sick and wiping his nose on his shirt as he was doing my nails. Gross. Not to mention he made two acrylics crooked then when I asked him to fix he told me my fingers were crooked all combative lmao. anyways, no. Keep looking elsewhere.

Used to come here. Not the best at all. I came because Adam treated me nice and I came for him only. He was ok with nails but they do last two weeks only. Id be scared to go past two weeks. The last time I went on a Saturday they didnt greet me. They never usually do and they looked stressed out and told me a 45 mintue wait. No thanks. Color selection is Boring. Im unique and like variety. Also their prices make it hard for you to get designs. Plus I dont wanna pay two people to do my nails. My nail tech should be able to do my nails and any designs I want. Probably wont be back here. Currently on the hunt for an amazing nail tech..again.

Ridiculous prices for substandard work. They rush your service even when their not busy and you pay for what they give you not for what you ask for. Then they have the nerve to get an attitude when you don’t tip. Nails didn’t last long before the cracked and chipped

I glot my coffin nails for $27 and theyre the best nails Ive ever had done before. After 3 weeks and a couple of beatings, theyve managed to stay on still. Highly recommend.

Save your money. Very low value nail place. Their “basic” mani/pedi with shellac costs $81. And it is BASIC. You’d think for that kind of money they could at least use cuticle cream but instead he roughly took them off and I have frayed ugly cuticles once the lotion dries. The pedi doesn’t include any kind of scrub and a very basic sponge exfoliation. I’ll never go here again.

Came here after another nail salon royally screwed my nails up on my hands and feet. They did amazing and changed my mood from being pissy to feeling great.

This is the best in SA Handsdown! Ive been to so many nail salons here where they either cut you where it hurts for days or quality is not as good. I do mani and pedi. They are artists in all the work they do. Seem to actually care about ur appearance and looks.

The husband and wife were very rude, I had booked 3 appointments for Saturday when we got there they looked at us very rudely and once we told them we had an appointment they changed there attitudes quickly. I later asked if they would take my 3 year old daughter and paint her nails since it was only the of us there and they had 8 workers they rudely refused her because they stated she needed to have a appointment, OK one she is f*****g 3 not a 40 year old women getting the works, all I wanted for her was color. Not even 5 minutes later the guy said oh I have nothing to do I can take her now. Like really your rude and very snobby, first your refuse her now you have time. Everyone in there was rude, it seemed like unless your buddies with these people they have a smile on your face and welcome you when you walk in. They didnt like the fact that we were talking in Spanish, but sorry if want to talk your language and wont make the effort to talk to me, I can do it mine. Never again will we be going back they over charge and not worth it even with a damn appointment. Trust the bad reviews, they are honest i see now why people put bad reviews, I wish I would have listened.

I came in for a refill and color change and the lady with a blue mask didn’t change all of my color nor did she refill my nails, she rushed through and only did one coat of paint. She even cut the light off early from my gel to harden. Horrible experience.

Edit 06/02/2015: I loved this place. Let me make that clear. However, yesterday they really left a bad taste in my mouth. I went in to fix one nail. Thats all I needed to be fully ready for my sons 8th grade graduation. I got there at 3:25. I ended up leaving at 4 without my ONE NAIL being repaired. ONE NAIL! ONE! I have to emphasize this because I dont understand how no one could take 5 minutes to do my one nail. Not only did they not do it, I was not acknowledged and was passed over. One girl was getting her nails soaked off so I was sure that I would get in after her... Nope. Since only one person does design another lady got her design done. While another lady who had an appt but got there well after me went before me. They switch off another girl to get a massage and clear coat. Sent one of the nail techs to do a pedicure while I was waiting 30 minutes FOR ONE NAIL... One nail. Just one. Not a set, not a fill, not a polish change, to repair ONE NAIL! Im so mad. And disgusted. The least they could have done was said its going to take 45-1hour to replace that ONE NAIL. One. Im torn because I hate bad customer service. Not only were the workers looking at me as they passed me up, so were the other people in there. One nail?! Wow. Im very unsure if Ill go back. Because that really messed me up. To be honest I felt that since the nails are guaranteed, and I still took my wallet just in case, I wasnt as important because I wasnt a paying customer.Ive been looking for a new home. Ive bounced around to different nail shops but this one is amazing. They are super sanitary, nice and the atmosphere is up beat. You never feel out off place. I recommended this place.

Think Ive been coming here about 2 years. Tuan and Lieu are the best. Tuan slays my nails and Lieu designs them. I always get compliments on my nails whether Im going through a drive thru for food or at work. I saw the prior review with a customer who said she waited a while for one nail. Let me explain on their behalf. They have become so good and blown up since the 2 years Ive started going there you do need to make an appointment before you just pop up on them like you Nicki Minaj or something lol! So make sure you make one or you will be there just waiting. I love this place, best salon Ive been to. Oh and dont think you gon come up in there and pay $20 for a new set and design, their work is worth more then that, take that mess down the street! 😂

Hadnt had my nails done in years. Went to a random place & got a crappy job. I had to remove the polish & do it myself @ home. . . Broke 2 nails which I knew wouldnt last because of the awful job. Tried kim t down the street the last time I had my nails done & they diled my nails so thin it took my 7 months to get eid od the crease in my actual nail. . . .so I was very hesitant to even repair my nails. Walked in to this place & everyone was extremely friendly & courteous. Not like most salons. After twelling them my horror story, the lovely lady tols me thats what happens when you cheat. Lol. Clients waiting for service spoke very highly of this place, saying Id never leave. . . .great nail techs, great service, good business ethics, & salon is clean. Totally in love w this place :)
