The last time a went I had asked for dip($45) +2 extra tips and designs and they only charged me $50. This time I only asked for regular clear glittered shellac ($35) +3extra tips on my nails, (know that my real nails are long) and the lady charged me $75 not including tips. I’m not cheap or anything but I don’t get how they had charged me $75???? The lady was really rude as I was real nice to her. I don’t feel sorry for tipping her only $2 when I usually tip $10-15. She charged me way too much for just a simple shellac w no designs. Never returning. Get yourself together and be nice to your customers as were being nice to you.

This place is awesome! Always very nice, and very quick (and amazing) with services. Been getting my nails done for a few months now by Jimmy and never been disappointed. The rest of the staff is super nice and very welcoming. Definitely recommend!!

I asked and even signed on asking for dip powder nails and the guy who did my nails did acrylic. I tried to mention it but he said this was stronger and failed to listen to me telling him 4 times that I wanted dip powder nails. I have been coming here for a long time and never go anywhere else. Its my favorite nail place. I was truly disappointed. I dont like to make any kind of fuse so I just let it be. Im really not happy and not sure if I will come back. I will have to really think about it. I hate to do have to do that because it really is my favorite nail salon.

I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my nails and I found the same level of perfectionism in Peter. His attention to detail is what keeps me coming back for my dip mani every 2-3 weeks since I moved to San Antonio. Highly recommend this nail salon. They don’t have a high turn over in staff. It’s nice seeing the same friendly faces every time.

Stopped by for a walk-in appointment around 11AM. The staff was very friendly and even swatched at least 3 different colors until I decided on one I really liked! I did a Dip Powder with the addition of some tips. I asked for a natural oval shape and they turned out perfectly :) I will visit again!

Yesterday, me and my friend went to this place to get our nails done. It was suppose to be a first time experience for her. When we went in, they only took her and didnt ask me if I wanted my nails done. They rushed her to do her nails and didnt do a good job. They even made one of her fingers bleed. Please do not go here for a first time experience to do nails.

This nail salon is so nice and clean but my nail technician Trish really was the highlight of my experience! She was so phenomenal and unlike other nail salons I’ve been to, she was so fun to talk to. She is a wonderful person and very good at her job! If I lived in San Antonio I would exclusively go here to get my nails done.

This place is so great. Accommodating is an understatement. I have been there three times and I am there at least an hour less than the other place I had been a regular at for years. The prices here are so great, but even more so because the final product is always so pretty. Money very well spent here.The other day I wanted powder set nails and shellac pedicure. I asked if they color match and he said yes, but i didn’t expect him to take the color I chose for my nails and literally go to the shellac swatches and stand there trying to match the perfect color. He did those while I was getting my pedicure and spent so much time and ended up finding the perfect color match. I really felt so appreciative of that treatment.

Love this place. Got the dip and they were nice about me doing multiple colors. They also added nail extensions and they only attach it to the tip so I won’t ruin my nail beds. They spent extra care cleaning up and polishing the edges. They have glass barriers for COVID and everyone wore masks so I felt comfortable being there.

I just recently visited this location for the first time and was really impressed. I came in as a walk-in with no wait time. The staff, including the owner, were extremely friendly and accommodating. If you like dip, this location has more colors than imaginable. They took extra effort not to overly file the nail down to keep its integrity. With removing the previous color, I was out within an hour. The quality itself was very good. The dip appears very clean, smooth and no raised ends near the nail beds. (If you have ever had dip you know what this is and how annoying it can be). I would definitely come back to them for dip service.

Overall good. Towards the end the lady was brushing my hands off to get it over with which was kinda rude. So I pro wont go back. Also while getting into vehicle with daughter a lady asked for $25. Apparently homeless tell you their price in this area.

The quality of work I have encountered at Basse Nails & Spa is beyond AMAZING!! Trina, my nail tech is incredible! She has helped me to restore my nails to a strong, beautiful healthy status that is absolutely STUNNING!! In addition to Trina, I would highly recommend each of the techs in the salon.

Highly highly recommend this nail salon. For about 2 years I have been trying different salons to find the perfect one in San Antonio, and this is definitely the one. Every time I go I have never had to wait, but also the technicians have never rushed through any of my appointments. They are very friendly when you walk in. My nails also turn out wonderful every time (shellac) and lasts 3 weeks without chipping, and I can’t wait to go back and try new colors. I will definitely be coming back here time and time again!

My nails are very thin and are very tender. Everyone is so gentle when I tell them and the nails stay on for a long time. Everyone always makes me feel so welcome.

Ive been here twice and each time I love it more. Stacy is my Go-To. My nails never lift and shes very attentive to the process. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ At check out she noticed an indention and had me sit down to fix it. I didnt even catch it. Great price and so worth it.

The pedicure was below average they just rub your shin more than anything I expect a foot massage, they dont really work on heels, just disappointed... i wont return

I recently moved to San Antonio and was in dire need of some nail therapy. Walked in and was immediately helped by peter. He did a lovely job! I got acrylics with gel polish and finished it off with a matte top coat. He shaped them perfectly and even asked a couple of times if he was doing it the way I wanted, which he was. A lady there waxed my eyebrows and the shape is perfect! Definitely worth every penny and I highly recommend this nail salon!!

The new owners have made wonderful changes. The service was excellent and the shop very clean. Tina did a great job on my manicure and pedicure. She is gentle when she should be and uses her strength to make the massage very enjoyable. I highly recommend Tina. I’ll be back!

They do good work for basic nails. If you want to keep up with new trends or want designs or jewels, go elsewhere.

They are wonderful! I go every month to get dip manicures and every time it looks wonderful and lasts forever! They can get very busy (because people like them!) but the staff is nothing but kind and welcoming! I try to go when they arent as busy, but they do great work regardless. Theyll get you something to drink (including wine!) and have tons of options for colors. Ive got their rewards punch card, very worth your time.

Went in for chrome. Came out horrible . After 2 hrs and several attempts by 2 employees i had to leaveThe man in charge said he would fix it. I called to make an appointment with him the following day and he said yes. When I got there he wasnt there. Being unsure i would get what I wanted I switched to shellac. His wife worked on my nails and you can still see polish from the chrome process.

For starters, very relaxing ambiance. Their methods of the services I choose are done exactly as they should be, with no shortcuts or rushing. I am VERY picky, yet this salon managed to meet my expectations every single time.

I got the VIP pedicure treatment and the technician was very friendly and even set a timer for the massage and deep treatment times. The service was awesome, all 3 of my friends and my baby girl made appointments and were able to get attended to but walkins that day were lining up so i suggest making an appointment. They were definitely pricey, for a spa pedicure, a full acrylic set, a llittle girls manicure i paid 120.00. While the service and nails came out beautifully, its just too expensive for me. Other than their prices highly reccomend if you want high quality!

I’ve been to this nail salon and have enjoyed previous experiences. It’s been a couple of months since I’ve been back and it’s changed! There are different nail technicians and I didn’t see any of the owners I used to see. It used to be always busy here but now all I see are a bunch of nail techs sitting around on their phones! The nail tech I had cut my toes so short that they hurt! Not to mention she also cut them crooked, when I pointed this out to her, she didn’t understand what I was saying because of a language barrier, I had to call over another nail technician for help. I understand that some nail techs are new and have to learn, I understand that we were all new at our jobs at some point but I feel like I work hard for my money and I expect quality service for what I pay for. This isn’t the quality of work I’m used to from this nail salon. Very disappointed.

Nice but very expensive. They try to make you get everything I felt very uncomfortable. My dip nail came off in just two weeks.

Bit pricey but very good service. They take their time both manicure and pedicure. Many colors to choose from as well. For a regular gel manicure there are other places not that expensive which give the same service.

I went to basse nail salon today, and my experience was excellent ! my nails came out fantastic ! i did not have an appointment, and was a walk in and still was seated immediately. i wanted blue acrylic nails, and got exactly what i visioned ! i felt so bad because i only brought $60 thinking it was enough to tip as well, but that was how much my nails came out to be because i asked for gel polish . when i go back to this nail salon to get a fill, i’m definitely bringing extra to tip the man who did my nails so well this time ! thank y’all !!

The new owners are amazing! I just had the best mani pedi I’ve had in a long time. They have so many color choices, including 400 colors of powder/dip. Peter used to be an instructor at a nail school in Florida and even worked for the dip company, so he has a ton of specialized training. Prices were great, everyone was friendly, and my hands and feet look and feel wonderful. I’ll definitely be back!

Ive been all over town and this is the best nail salon Ive found :) personally I dont believe the recent poor review, and if youre having a bad experience as a customer you should speak up so they can correct the situation for you. Some people cant be pleased. I came back a week after getting a dip manicure, and had some damage.. He (Peter) fixed it for free even after I offered to pay. I cant speak for other technicians but Peter is awesome!! :)

This salon is truly a hidden gem! I almost do not want to brag about it because I know if people go just once, they will be hooked and it would make it more difficulty to get in:) I understand it was recently taken over in November by Jimmy and Stacey (a husband and wife duo) who MORE than deserve the kudos. Not only is their customer service top notch, Stacey (the only person I have seen since going there) gives an AMAZING pedicure/foot massage and knows how to perfectly shape nails so they are just like YOU like them and also flatter your hand. I cant wait to try some of their other services too! Definitely my new go-to for the perfect mani-pedi.

My favorite nail care place in Alamo Heights, everything is well taken care of and no funny business like you find elsewhere.. Everything is to code and clean, staff is always friendly, but not TOO friendly.. Some places seem desperate. They dont need to be.

Something has seriously changed. This was my favorite place in San Antonio, hands down! (No pun intended) As a matter of fact, I would tell everyone I know about Basse nails.For starters, it’s 95% all new techs. The 3 girls who I would wait for endlessly for, are mysteriously gone. There are maybe 8-10 new techs working now. I’ve been twice since I’ve noticed this sudden change. The first visit, I was open to new experiences, and rolled with it. However, the 2nd (most recent) time I felt this was not a pleasant one, nor my typical Basse nails experience.2 things are bothering me enough to write about; the others, however, I will let slide. Getting back to my visit prior-when I first noticed a shift. Theyre using new drying machines. They look super high-tech. They are designed longer, so when you get a pedicure for example, your entire foot goes into this machine. All the way in so your heel is in there as well; as if it were a boot. So in effect, your whole bottom of your foot is touching, heel to toe.Well, the problem herein lies that I did not see them cleaning these machines after each customer use. And the most problematic issue for me is this. The first time, they used this machine on me (visit prior) I noticed when she put the drying coat on, and my foot went in, I felt my big toe was almost on fire. The nail bed got extremely hot like there was a chemical reaction or something, I didn’t know what. But I’m a big girl, so I didn’t say a word. I honestly thought it was a fluke. I thought the girl didn’t put a heavy enough base coat on truthfully. It’s funny how we rationalize things.Fast forward to the most recent visit. I got another mani/pedi. When the pedicure portion came, same exact thing! When each foot went in, both big toes felt like a bad sun burn that didn’t subside until my foot was taken out. It was bad.Here is the most concerning part. The reason why I loved Basse nails so much is because like most traditional nail places, a lot of the girls are from different countries and English is not their first language. Which I am completely fine with. But what I appreciated about Basse nails is the girls before never spoke (in their language) amongst each other while doing your nails. Like you see in the stereotypical nail place, where the ladies will make fun of the customers. But what was truly refreshing, was that never happened here @ Basse, and I’ve been going for years. Until recently...One woman in particular stood out. Her name is Destiny. She not only spoke to the other techs, she would do it shortly after she glared at you. She would do it under her breath while looking down. Trust me, it wasn’t in a tone where she’s telling them about a movie she saw recently either; it’s an almost whisper, like when you’re not saying something nice about someone. Then adding insult to injury, in a patronizing way, when she would make eye contact, she’d pay an insincere compliment. (Bc she knows she’s just been busted). Destiny did some other highly unprofessional things as well, but too long to write about. I’m sure that’s not her real name, and as soon as they see this review, her name will change. Just hope and pray you don’t get her.God Bless!

I would give a 5 star rating only cause the older male there did my daughters nails and did a nice job real pretty but downside is i asked if they did designs on the nails, they told me they didnt when clearly they do people post pictures hellooo!! All she had to say was the nail tech who does that is off today. She clearly said they didnt, well thats one way to run off a customer. Rude!!!!

I got my nails done here, and the prices on website aren’t the same vs. what they tell you, which i didn’t mind paying it but still... my nails were uneven (i got acrylics). The guy employee was very rude. But i will say, it was a clean environment.

Fast, friendly and great atmosphere!My mother is disabled and they accommodated her. The price is on point! Refreshments are available and English was spoken the entire time.
