Walking into a fight school is always scary as hell especially when you compare yourself to everybody else in the room. Here, its different. The coaches and teachers are all geared towards welcoming you, helping you, teaching you, and making you better. The first thing I noticed when I started at Ambush is the sense of camaraderie. The gym is very family-friendly, and even offers kids’ classes.The coaches are very professional, knowledgeable, and are attentive to all levels of Muay Thai. No two classes are the same so the workouts and drills never get repetitive or boring. Whether you want to train professionally, for fitness, or for fun, Ambush makes the art of Muay Thai accessible for everyone.

I enjoyed the complementary session that was provided. In the short two hours that was allowed, I felt as that I learned more than I did in the last two years. Although the space is smaller, the atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend take a couple hours out of your day to try one session.

When you first walk in the gym might seem a bit intimidating. There are lots of members that fight out of this gym, but once you hop into class you’ll find it’s wonderful for beginners and those starting on their fitness journeys! The coaches are super patient, encouraging, and helpful! Everyone is so nice and willing to help you out. Ambush Muay Thai is life changing honestly! I went to try their free day trial just for a workout but actually learned a lot on my first day! I have always loved the art of Muay Thai but never thought I would be joining a gym to commit myself in learning this craft. The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming and not to mentioned very knowledgeable and experienced. Their gym is always clean and organized. If you’re reading this and you want to try it out but have doubts, Just show up for their trail session (if available) and give it a shot! You’ll want more after you’re done, I know I tried it and signed up the same day!

I trained here on and off for about six months. Its a great place run by passionate fighters, and an excellent learning environment if youre willing to put in the work.

I’ve been training at Ambush since before they settled at their Blanco location, even through all the transition Bobby was very attentive to all newcomers. Coaches are knowledgeable, dedicated to their students and keep the environment family oriented. Classes for all levels, gym stays clean and they’re always carrying training gear/apparel for anyone interested. Definitely the best Muau Thai gym out of 210 area.

Amazing training, knowledgeable and experienced trainers, the atmosphere is realistic and true to real training. Definitely worth it. My kid, 11yrs old, goes here and has greatly improved in his confidence, physical fitness and attitude. He looks forward to going. Its easier to read what we all think, but you dont know until you actually try it out.

Truly an amazing place to train. Coach Bobby is one of the best coaches out there and truly teaches the martial art in its purity. The environment is also extremely positive. I have been training pure jiu jitsu for the past 11 years and didn’t know how to throw a punch until I started training under Bobby Peek. His instruction is second to none and world class. He’s patient and very attentive with his students, as are all of his coaches. The classes are exciting, the progression is real and the atmosphere is a positive learning environment. Been training Muay Thai since at least 2003. Ive trained in a number of different states (in the US) as well as having trained in Thailand for a short period. Tried out a number of the gyms in town, but this is my favorite by far. The team environment is second to none. The head coach is very attentive to detail and is actively engaged with everyone during class. The facilities are clean and the equipment is in good condition (not falling apart). Theres nowhere else in San Antonio that youre going to be able to train with this many professional Muay Thai/kickboxing fighters. The program isnt just for fighters either, as there are many hobbyists and people just looking to get in shape. I bring my kids to the kids class too. Im really enjoying being able to train in such a great atmosphere, with friendly people, and receiving detailed, authentic instruction.

My two daughters (12 & 9) have been training with Bobby and the rest of his coaching staff for a little over a year now. The atmosphere is very welcoming and respectful, that my 17 year old son also joined the program. Bobby and his team have taught my children a lot about Muay Thai but most importantly he taught them dedication and accountability. I would definitely recommend anyone who is new to Muay Thai, getting back into it, or wanting to advance to come check out Bobby and his team.

My daughter has trained with Coach Bobby for years, beginning when he was working out of another gym in town that focused on ju jitsu. The gym was simply a large open area, and the noise and activity of those kids while trying to train Muay Thai alongside was very distracting. Since Bobby opened Ambush on Blanco Rd that problem has disappeared. Great location, new paint, mats and bags, the best of focused MT instruction — and no issues with parking. The training itself is all-encompassing, including all skill/experience levels, for kids, teens, and adults of all shapes and sizes.My highest recommendation.

Ive been training muay thai for ~4 years and Ive been at Ambush for about 5 months. Ambush is absolutely the best place for muay thai in San Antonio. The coaches put an emphasis on clinching that Ive found to be missing from some gyms. They never pressure you to take a fight but are very supportive if you decide to. If you are a girl looking to try muay thai for the first time (do it!), it might seem intimidating to join a gym of mostly men but the guys at Ambush never make me feel unwelcome or uncomfortable.Also they dont lock you into long contracts and theres no unnecessary registration fee that you might see at other gyms. Their focus is 100% on the training, not getting your money.

Ambush offers great coaching alongside great training partners. Everyone in the gym is constantly working hard and pushing each-other to be the best they can be.

I joined Ambush Muay Thai in January, since then I have learned a lot with the help of the best coaches and staff, Bobby Peek, Peter Stanonik, Mike as well as everybody else, they are very helpful and nice. I’m not a professional nor amateur and training around his amazing peers is a very good experience. There are classes for begginers were they teach foundations and basic moves that are extremely helpful even if you are more advance. If you want to be a professional, amateour or just for fitness this place is the best. They treat you like family, love the place.
