Professional, caring instructors.I am in awe at how good they are here with my child. They are here literally for the childrens sake which is truly refreshing. My son is very happy and excited about his classes and they work around his needs. They build self confidence, trust and self care in a fun and safe environment (not only physically but mentally as well). I attend the adult classes, and I really enjoy them. Mr. Ramirez and the KOA team are professional, and kind; I also think its helpful to me that theyve all individually explored so many styles of martial arts, but have stuck with kenpo. Im learning a lot, and I enjoy doing it.

I took a virtual class during an Anti Human Trafficking Zoom Webinar. The instructor gave clear and concise instructions. He made sure to pay attention to each attendee. He is a respectful guy and if I was closer, I would sign up for his class. I wish I remembered his name. I believe he is the owner. Also, I love how he ends the class. He teaches morals and techniques. I highly recommend if you are in the San Antonio area. I even recommend if you like virtual learning.

The classes help my kids with their everyday life. They are much more confident since they started this class. I have twins and my son has been working with Mr. Ramirez for over 6 years. The instructor has over 20 plus years experience in teaching. I mainly put my son in this program for self confidence. He also has tight muscles and the exercise and stretches help him with that. My daughter is very shy and it took her a little more time to participate. She would sit through classes for about a month until she opened to the idea. The instructors and the other children brought her out of her shell, no other place could have done that for her. They reach out to the kids and offer help. A fantastic family environment and all the kids support and encourage each other.

This class is amazing for getting back in shape, or learning kempo. it’s currently my 5th week and i feel like i’m young again

If I could rate it 10stars, I would. Have my 3 kids take classes here and they love it. Theyve already learned alot in the month in a half of attending. Has even brought 2 of my kids out of their shell alot. I started taking the adult night class and Im addicted. I die in every class but the difference I see in my strength and muscles keep me addicted and going. All the instructors are beyond professional and extremely passionate in what they do. The patience they have with the children is what got me locked in first and foremost. They really make sure to give individual attention to every student and help them improve at their own pace. If you really want to learn kenpo karate/conditions the correct way, then I beyond highly recommend this place. You WONT be disappointed. And if you are ill buy you your protein shake after a class 😝🤗

This place is Amazing. For people of all ages and all levels of experience. All the instructors are great! My wife and I do the kickboxing class, my kids do little dragons and kids kickboxing. Its great being at a place where the whole family is involved. Great with kids ! No judgement! Just great training, discipline and a family cultlure you just cant exain without seeing it. You ha e to co.e in for a free class and try it! They even have nutritional shakes for after the workout and bca drinks available for durring your workouts and they are delicious! I’ve been training at KOA for about a month now and every single time it’s been amazing. Mr. Ramirez really wants to show you the best ways to defend yourself and encourages you to become stronger in mind, body and soul. Sometimes I’ll be feeling tired all day but after class I’ll be so rejuvenated, even after our hard workouts!With a membership here you’ll have access to the gym any sessions of the week. There’s CrossFit/boxing classes and then there’s the MMA classes at different times, and both of them are awesome. Absolutely worth checking out, everyone at KOA is so friendly, inviting and patient. Ive been going for about a month now. I would recommend trying this place out. Mr. Ram is very knowledgeable, a truth-sayer, and cares about your progress. (As are others that work there.) I feel like I can actually use some of the things Ive learned in the real world if necessary. Thats a huge relief for me. Kenpo isnt easy but its so worth it.

My daughter loves being part of their after-school program. Most recently Mr. Ramirez invited me to join his Hyper Fight Club 6-week challenge and I am very happy I did. Training with Mr. Ramirez is both challenging and rewarding. Mr. Ramirez has one of the top notch martial arts school programs that I have seen in a long time. He has a best kids as well as adult martial arts program that I have seen. Stop looking, this is it!! Highly recommend! I have been a student of a few martial art styles. I am an old school student. I was looking for a Dojo where the scene of the art wasnt lost to the commercialization of the sport. I searched several different adult Karate and also checked the pricing, KOA Kenpo Martial Arts is by far the best. Sensei R. Ramirez teaches a balance of traditional Japanese martial art and its American version, so you get the old with the new and he make sure ain’t just for show but to be able to use it in to defend yourself. I do rotate my working hrs sometimes and the classes works great with most schedules, they have morning/evening lessons. Great place and great vibe. Excellent workout.

KOA Kenpo is a great place for training / working out, they also have an after school classes for your kids which is awesome to keep them active. Im in it for the training and the experience is what I expected. Its effective with a lot of knowledge and understanding on why he does what he does. Every movement has a reason with no extra effort. The workouts are great as well keeping you moving with a high pace enough to try to burn you down but keep you going to push yourself to achieve your own goals.

Great martial arts school,friendly staff, and great instructors. Owner and lead instructor, Ramero Ramirez takes great pride in his art form, and passes that same knowledge of his art to the minds, and bodies of his students. My son has been attending his school for 3 years now and has done a great job of picking up the art form. My son just advanced to a blue belt, and it blew my mind on how well hes picked up the art, by the way he demonstrated the techniques, as well as the rest of the students that were testing that day. I highly recommend this school for self defense, as well as self improvement.

If I could give Koa Kenpo Karate ten stars, I would. This place is amazing. My kids have been attending the classes for several months already and they love it. Mr. Ramirez doesnt have to tell you that he loves what he does, you see it for yourself. You can see he pours his heart and soul when he trains his students. Mr. Ramirez and the other instructors are very patient with the kids; they provide amazing support for them to excel and be better every time. This place is very family oriented. I myself joined the boxing class and couldnt be happier. It is a very intense workout yet I feel great at the end of each class. Unfortunately I work and cant make it to every class otherwise Id be there every day. If you have kids or no kids this place provides a class for you. Not only would you learn different skills, your mind, body and soul will be stronger.

The owner is exceptional, he truly loves children. The energy there is very welcoming my boys love it there. I can honestly say I see the change in my oldest son since he started he is learning so much!I love it! Yes I would reocmmend this place for children and adults.

I am so glad I chose this class for my self defense. The instructors are determined to teach you what you need to know but patient enough for the individual’s pace. I absolutely love the boxing/ fitness/ yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday. They really do push you in a positive way both mentally and physically. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn self defense or simply to be more fit.

It’s a really good martial arts school. I love coming here, each day to learn something more.The teachers are really nice and they’re good with kids. Like if you work a lot they have after school so they pick your kids after school. The kids can do their homework and learn how to defend themselves.

I have known and trained with Mr. Ramirez for about nine years. In that time, I have found him to be a man of excellent character and a phenomenal martial artist. He has a true passion for sharing his knowledge and growing others around him. His love for the arts is infectious. He is no fly by night talent; he is a life-long martial artist and anyone (myself included) would richly benefit and be blessed to learn from him.

My sons loves coming here!! The staff is very friendly and professional! My son loves and respects his karate teacher and is learning a great deal! Not only do they teach karate, they also teach the kids to respect everyone around them! Can’t say enough great things about this place!!!

This place is great. We had our 5 year old in the Tuesday and Thursdays class from 5:30-6pm. The teacher is great, was perfect for our strong willed, outspoken, silly 5 year old boy. Our son needed a teacher just as strong and to snap him in place to listen and follow directions and he did just that. The teacher is funny and has fun with the kids as well. Some classes my son missed his nap or was just being stubborn but our son really enjoyed it. We would keep him going but we are moving. I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been going to Koa Kenpo martial arts since feb 2019. This has been one of the best experiences of my life. Mr Ramirez is very motivating. This place allows people of all health and fitness levels to feel at home and not judged. I live 30 mins away but it’s always been worth the drive. It’s not the fanciest gym I’ve seen, but what it lacks in appearances is made up 10 fold in how great you feel about yourself after leaving this place for the day. I love it!!

Training with Mr Ramirez is both educational and exhausting. He doesnt make you feel like a beginner that doesnt know anything, he helps by breaking down each individual technique to make you better all the time. His knowledge in Kenpo is extinsive to say the least, and he knows how hard to push each individual student to get the most out of each session. Fixing the small problems in the beginning before they become bad habits down the road.What really sold me on taking his classes, the way he is with the kids classes. I sit in and watch the kids class before the adult class and he is absolutely amazing with these kids.If you want to learn American Kenpo or want to get fit with a kettle bell class, look no further.

He teaches practical offensive/defensive moves from the start but mixes in a little fun for the younger students. Highley recommend!

Love this Karate School, I have three daughters,I decided to register my kids because my older daughter stared middle school last year at the same time bullying follow, my daughter have Asthma, and because of the bullying she will had an asthma attack, we ended at the emergency room more than 10 times, since she stared the Karate Class she got more self-confidet, no more emergency room for her thank God! Mr. Rmz is an awsome instructor, he right away notice why my daughter will had an asthma atack, I was impressed because He told me the same like my daugther pediatrician. Im more than thankful to him and all the other instructors, they are so patient and kind with kids, they care about our kids safety. Is fun at the same time for my girls!!
