Although ultimately, things did not work out with my apartment. The general manager Ashley was a complete sweetheart and amazing during the whole process. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for an affordable apartment. It just was not the best fit for me.
Recently moved out of a 2b/2b. Staff was very accommodating for my awkward lease time (2 months) and sorted out issues relating to that well. However, I had many problems with my unit and when I put in multiple maintenance requests both online and in-person, they never got fixed. Very frustrating but the leasing staff was otherwise helpful.
When my daughter needed just a 4 month lease to finish her last semester, we came to Tobin Lofts. We were able to get a 4 month lease, although I dont think they offer it all the time. We signed the lease and a few weeks later when she was getting ready to move in, we contacted Tobin about move in details. We were told on the phone that they didnt have a unit ready for her to move in and no idea when they could get one ready. WHAT?!?!?! After using my teacher voice on the girl giving me this info I eventually got to speak to Shelby who got it straightened out. I dont know what needed to be straightened out, but she sorted it. We felt a little bit nervous when going for the move in, wondering if there would actually be a place for her.My daughter had a pretty good experience here. She got placed with 3 other girls from her university. One of them she actually knew and another became a great friend. She also got a unit at the back which seemed to be quieter than the ones facing N. Main. The only other problem we had here was my daughter was charged for a 5th month, even though she had moved out and handed in keys. She mistakenly paid it thinking she was paying a prior month. I was worried about that because I saw other reviews saying it took a really long time for people to get their money back if there was any kind of overpayment. I spoke to the girl in accounting (cant remember her name) and was promised it would be refunded right away. I complained on Friday afternoon about that and the refund was returned to my daughters account by Wednesday. The management does seem a bit disorganized. Maybe they are under staffed? The issues we had shouldnt have been issues at all, but since they got sorted out to our satisfaction and quite quickly Im going to give them 4 stars.
The various people I have spoken with have been extremely patient and went out of their way to make things right. With all the confusion and chaos these days and the staff shortages it has been really nice to speak with people who go out of their way to help.
Wanna live at an apartment complex that doesnt take care of tenants and former residents by OVERCHARGING and neglects maintenance issues? Then step up and apply to Tobin right here! I lived at Tobin in an efficiency (single bedroom apartment space) and moved in to a dirty spot by the top of my bed where my head was supposed to be, a missing light cover in the bathroom, some sort of mystery stain by the bottom of the toilet, and old carpet! The school I go to now has nicer dorms than these living spaces at Tobin! You definitely overpay for the unit and what they give. I had to move back home due to financial issues and I tried to find a sublet or get assistance from the city, and neither solution came into play. I was told by SHELBY DUNFORD that once I sent my keys back, that everything- and I QUOTE!- would be taken care of. Any person in their right mind would interpret that as we can take care of the issue for you without you having to worry about it, right? Well.. a month later I get a final account statement charging me for the rest of the rent for my lease, and overcharges for damage I MOVED IN TO! I even submitted REQUESTS right after I moved in and they closed the cases. ***Edit#2: I JUST found out (4 months after the fact of speaking with SHELBY) that once my keys were received, everything went to their bookkeeper so Shelby was no longer required to speak with me even though she (as the LEASING MANAGER) was the main person I worked with when letting them know I could no longer live there!I hope theyre happy and sleep perfectly fine at night knowing the money they make is through crooked schemes.**Edit: the pictures from AUGUST 15th are from move in, and the January 26th ones are when I moved out**
I hate tobin so much! They don’t do they job it’s 85 degrees in our apartment and they told me it wasn’t a emergency to come fix the AC right away unless it hit 95 degrees. We have broke down couches and they been here for years. They didn’t replace no furniture when I moved in. Don’t move here!
I am currently Covid positive, my roommate has been exposed and the management still plans on moving in a new resident this February without forewarning, THEY ARE RISKING THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS of students. Excluding this ignorance; fecal matter is at every exit, the homeless rummage through the garbage, bikes are stolen from within the property. Dont recommend this place to your friends, it is not worth the hassle.
Ive had a great living experience here going into year 2! Friendly staff and Shelby was so quick to help me when I had issues with my roommate and wanted to move units. The maintance team is great too and prompt when they come to fix appliances and such. Theyll tell you whats wrong too so you know what to do the next time! The only inconvenience Ive had is the water turning off due to construction and packages not being found when I come to pick them up but that has been resolved fairly quickly. Overall, I love the area and its convenient for students to be close to campus.
Can I give these scam artist. Zero? My daughter applied, couldn’t get in by herself asked me to get on they denied me also. They sent an email that said the only way we could get in was with an additional 600 dollars. We never paid. They put it on my credit snd my daughters that we stayed here. Never stayed never paid. They have no paperwork I signed. Now I have to fight to get it off my credit. Scam artist. Emailed them several times no replies and I have all my receipts. Do not stay here!! Scam artist
I love Tobin I feel so safe and protected and the staff is top knot.
I lived at Tobin Lofts for a year and it was overall a good experience. The staff are helpful and friendly and the location is super convenient with a ton of delicious restaurants within walking distance. Having a pre-furnished apartment is wonderful especially when you are a living there only temporarily. I also loved that the leases are per bedroom instead of for the entire unit, so each person only has to pay their share without picking up someone elses share should they fall behind. Some issues I did have, however, were cleanliness and accessibility - tenants would allow their dogs to urinate and defecate around the breezeways and that was frustrating, and the elevator was once out for months, but they eventually had that fixed. Also, being by a bunch of bars, it can get hard to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep, but that is beyond the managements control.
I’ve enjoyed my experience while working here as well as residing on property. I have been working here for almost 2 years and have been able to enjoy the experience. If you are looking for affordable student housing in the San Antonio, feel free to stop by for a tour. Resort style pool, 24- amenities, water covered, cable free. These are just to name a few of the amenities we offer so stop by with your friends and see !
Living there more than 1 year. Good place, good roommate
Ive had a great experience living at Tobin Lofts! Parking is included and is in a covered garage! Its close to everything and a bus stop is just out front so I can leave my car parked and get around easily. The pool is awesome, plus they have a gym open 24/7! The office staff is super friendly and helpful, they have helped me get comfortable in my first apartment and helped me find great roommates! I cant wait for another year at Tobin Lofts!
Everything thus far has been super! The entire staff has been welcoming and great! They are quick to respond to any questions or concerns we may have!
Its the perfect place to live for students! No much more to say..its a 5 minute walk to Moody..the staff is great! Shout out to Gabby! This is my first time rating anything 5 stars! Dont sleep. If youre a S.A.C. student..this is where you want to be.
Well if there was an option to leave zero stars I would. If you are a student looking to lease here don’t. I hate living here every minute. From the start they for some reason they couldn’t get my lease right and I had to talk to them about it at least 6 times. Then they wouldn’t let me move in a week early even though I had to pay for the whole month of August. They claimed they were cleaning the apartment and getting them ready but when I moved in there was dirt and dust everywhere. The shower didn’t drain, the sink didn’t drain. I had to put in work orders for them to be fixed ( it took them 3 weeks). The lights in the bathroom were out as well. They allow the residents to let their dogs poop anywhere and don’t enforce the clean up… so dog poop just sits around. Drunk college kids wake me up at 2am at least twice a week. My bike was stolen from inside the gated area. They claim that they have tried to increase security based off the incidents that have happened at Tobin but I see no effort put in. Honestly this place is a huge disappointment and overpriced. Great idea just poorly executed. It’s sad to see a place like this so poorly managed and maintained. If you are reading the end of the review let me tell you now do not live here. I was warned but didn’t listen please don’t let that be you.
Its trash, run by trash, for trash. Better sit down because its going to be a long one. I lived in a 4 bedroom 4 bath for 2 months during an internship and we had issues from the start. When we first arrived, there was a roach infestation, broken fan, broken ice maker, broken dishwasher, broken faucet, broken mailbox, and dead batteries in almost all the fire alarms. The roaches never got completely fixed despite requesting exterminators twice. Thankfully the fan, ice maker, and dishwasher all got fixed, but that is only because the maintenance staff was very nice. I wish I could say the same for the management staff. They were constantly annoyed when we placed work request, they never gave us head up of move out times or inspections, and they were annoyed any time was actually asked them to do work. The community living at Tobin was bearable at best. From the elevator wreaking of weed half the time, to drunk residents waking us up in the middle of the night, there were issues almost daily. Residents with dogs consistently let them poop ON THE STAIRWELL AND IN THE HALLWAY, and we were woken up by fire alarms in the middle of the night on multiple occasions. In summary, do not buy into the temptation of a good location, look elsewhere for any sort of housing as a student. They also bribe residents with amazon gift cards to give them good reviews, so many of the positive ones could be faked for money.
I lived here for a year and Samaria is the best!!!
Chris F. Is hands down the most helpful in the office. The leasing Manager Miranda has also been very sweet. Other than that.....just know that you will always have problems at this place!
If you are serious about your college studies then do not move here. They have 3.4 stars for a reason. Not a good place to live.
I have to say my experience was pleasant. I visited the property with my faternity brothers to check out a possible place to live. The front staff was friendly and helpful. The tour guide knew what he was talking about and was able to answer my questions. My selling point is the location of the property its literally a 5 min drive to get to the San Antonio river walk. Best part of everything I can sign my lease online.
As a resident for 4 years and a freelance photographer that has worked with Tobin Lofts, I can definitely say this is the place to be! From the luxurious updated amenities, to the attentive & friendly staff, Tobin Lofts lives up to the saying of “Home is where the heart is.”Just minutes away from SAC, and steps away from exciting night-clubs, this is the perfect location for any young individual wanting to start the next chapter of their life. Tobin Lofts has been the stepping stone that opened up so many new opportunites for me. Residents are Tobin’s #1 priority. They are extremely helpful & supportive! The staff really goes above & beyond for solving any issues you may have. They also provide very fun & creative resident events to participate in every month. Overall, if you are a college student or just a young independent person craving rich experiences near the heart of downtown, Tobin Lofts is the place to be. You will not regret it!
So far I’ve loved it here. The staff is amazing and I never have an issue that cannot be solved.
We got the run around trying to get my son a place here. They told my son one story, his dad another story, and myself a completely different story. Wanted 1,600 up front. Said that his dad didnt qualify for a co-signed because is leasing history!! How is that when he was in the military for 20 years and owns his own home??? Then they tell my son because of his fathers credit which is exception. Here is the kicker when I called and did not identify myself .. I spoke to Rachel and said my child was moving up there for school and ask her what was the leasing terms she explained them to me. I ask what if I dont have any leasing experience and I own my home. She said oh well we dont go off of that if you dont have any. We look at your credit and income. Yet they sent my child father a letter saying why he got denied was because of his leasing history.
The things provided are subpar at best! Management is very rude and unaccommodating. They turn off the wifi with no notice during school hours! Random fire alarms. They can go into your apartment and room with no warning or reason. Was a lot better 2 years ago!
I dont live here but I met one of the employees at a conference, and WOW do they care about their residents! They have the upmost respect and want to make their residents lives better and more enjoyable. Hearing about all their cool amenities and events, makes me want to live there!
I went to go visit the apartments near SAC to check out if I was going to like where I may be living next year. My mom was very concerned with me being on my own next year, but the staff made us both feel very welcomed. Everyone was really nice and made me feel like I already belonged! They had an event going on that day, and they invited us to have some of their snacks... always a plus for me! Me and my mom left with a good feeling about the place. Go check this place out!If I decide to go to UIW this fall, I will be living at this place!
I have had multiple friends who are residents here so, being a frequent guest I have had wonderful experiences. This area has a wide veriety of activities where it is impossible to not have something to do. I am excited to say I will be joining Tobin Lofts this coming fall and can’t wait to enjoy every minute of it. I will definitely be taking advantage of the pool and gym areas! P.S... they are pet friendly so BONUS!!!!
One thing that makes or breaks an apartment is it’s staff. The staff here are very down to earth and caring. Every time I go to the office I see Hope’s big smile (that’s definitely something i’ll miss when I leave here). She brought life to the office and she’s definitely trustworthy. I have ranting to here about various situations and she was always ready to fight to make things happen in the office.
The staff are courteous, and helpful. If they dont know something, theyve always found out, and got back to me in a timely manner. The grounds are clean, the pool is large enough to swim laps, the gym has excellent equipment, and its version of a computer lab is handy in a pinch. Given its proximity to SAC, secure parking area (Alamo Colleges Police have a station across the street, and patrol regularly), and that there is plenty to do in the area, I love it! I am commenting from a point of view where I have lived in other apartments, military housing, and barracks, and traditional dorms, as well as having owned a home while stationed in Virginia.
Very pet friendly, the people are nice, there are strict rules about the pool and maintenance is slow sometimes. I like how its close to a lot of food places and San Antonio College but parking does suck sometimes. Overall tobin phase 1 is nice for college students and pretty chill.
Moved in this summer and the staff was very pleasing and accommodating, shout out to Michael for setting everything up and making everything as smooth as possible.
Ive only viewed the apartments in person and I love them and Im so excited to live here in a few weeks! I havent received any apartment or roommate information quite yet but I understand due to the amount of emails to send out. Im so excited!
They will lose and mix up your mail. They have a terrible mail problem. The employees in the office are good people, but they are overwhelmed and disorganized. They once delivered an important health insurance letter of mine to a different room on a different floor by accident. Today I tried to pick up an expensive gift my friend had sent me, but they had lost it. One person there said that my roommate orders so many packages that they dont do a good enough job keeping track of what mail belongs to whom. She openly admitted that they could be doing a better job. I think that the office needs either more employees to pick up the slack, or more competent ones to handle it properly.I dont have the energy to even fight to get my package at this point. I like this place a lot and I feel my trust was broken today.I dont mind posting this publicly because I want them to know who I am. They can still fix my problem, but Im unimpressed by this. They should do better.
Im the brother of one of the workers and when I went their the apartments looked and the pool was nice.Hope to live here in 4 years
This place is an amazing place to live the rent is cheap and the apartments are nice. The perks of living here are also a plus. The pool is beautiful and the scenery around the apartments is wonderful always something to do.
I have a couch thats falling apart that Ive yet to get fixed. I put in TWO service requests about my (possibly) broken thermostat because its heating my apartment and instead making it colder than it is outside and theyre both being ignored which means i have to find alternatives to keeping my apartment warm. I like how close it is to SAC but, at this rate, I might as well start looking for another apartment where the service requests can be filled in a timely manner.
The complex and management is pretty nice. Maintenance team is fantastic. The only problem is most of the residents here are terrible. Irresponsible college kids who let their dogs poop wherever despite the signs, graffiti walls and destroy things when theyre drunk, and set off fire alarms at 3am for fun and wake everyone up (all of this happens on a regular basis).
Overall the apartments are nice a good price. However there seems to be a consistent mosquito problem in the gym. It makes it hard to exercise when you are being eaten alive. Ive asked if something could be done about it but the problem remains.
Great location and atmosphere. Staff is always in a good mood and willing to help. Only complaint is that Luthers and Pegasus can be heard in my living room on weekend nights.
This place is awful, do not move here. The rent here is too expensive for how badly they run the place. The management does not care for your well being or take any consideration into any situation you might be in. They say they do, but their actions have never shown it. They have a huge pest problem, and the area (inside and out) is always covered in pet waste. If youre stuck here because of the lease, record any and every conversation you have with them in person. They will pretend to be helpful when youre in front of them, but when it really comes down to it they do not care at all about your situation or even do what they promised in their own lease. I have even heard them talking behind the backs of their own residents. They will ignore you when it matters, but deceive you by lying to you when they are disadvantaged.
Very helpful and took their time with us at our 2 visits until we make our decision! Hope was awesome! Moving in this August, Thanks
Ive lived here since August pretty chill place, live on the 4th floor, front desk is helpful but if you get Monica she always goes above and beyond to help out.
Good place to live when going to school and if you decide to get roommates and if you meet the right people it makes the experience much better. Staff is friendly. O btw nick v steals food. If your not living with him then you will have a good time here.
Very friendly place nice workers. Especially Monica she’s helps me out a lot since I’ve moved in.
Very bad experience. I lived at Tobin for a summer and our air conditioner didnt work. We put in maintenance requests daily and called several times but the staff never fixed the problem. The elevator almost never worked and when it did it was filled with trash or vomit. I never received a key to my mailbox upon move in because the office said they couldnt find it or make a new one.On my move out day they had no record of me living there - even though I signed several papers upon move in. They told me all the paperwork just went missing on their end. They faked a lease with my name on it in order for me to move out.Tobin is like a college dormitory without the helpful staff.Location is by far the worst thing. Located on a corner in a club/bar district. At least 5 clubs all on that corner who blast music all night every night of the week. It was miserable and I never went to sleep at a decent hour because of the noise.Parking is inconvenient on the weekends because they allow the public to pay for the garage for the night. No one enforces the rule that resident parking spots are for residents only. Many times I found myself parking on the street struggling to find a spot.It might make sense to live here as a student because of the cost and location but it isnt worth the trouble of parking and lack of maintenance.
I wish I could give it a half star or no star at all..... it is a Dorm basically. The worst place to live; college students are operating this property, lease agreement are not upheld, when there is a problem they do not respond in a timely manner. Go somewhere else they will have a cheaper rate with better service all the way around.
Renters beware. Tobin Lofts comes stacked with a long lists of cons to its very few pros. I lived there for a year while going to school a couple miles away, and it is more of a glorified dorm than an actual apartment complex. If you are moving in, be prepared to live in a college-friendly environment. Another situational feature of note is how close this apartment is to the LGBT strip across the street.Lord help you if you get placed across from Pegasus because you are never going to sleep on time as they close around 2 am (3:45 am was the latest during their dance competitions). Noises include:-Booming bass and pop music from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. every night-Drunken cries of patrons from the multitude of bars across the street and the occasional brawl-Police and ambulance sirens (theres a hospital nearby)-Other tenants musicOther issues lie with the apartment itself and the maintenance supporting it. Major issues such as broken A/C will be taken care of on the day it occurs as it is an emergency, but if you find yourself with a minor issue good luck getting it resolved within a week. The first week I was there, I moved into an apartment that had a couch with absolutely destroyed couch cushions. It took me about two weeks to get them replaced and all that needed to be done was have a replacement given to me from a stock room full of them. Took someone in the front office five minutes to fix an issue that maintenance ignored for a week.I also take issue with the general cleanliness of the place. The trash rooms get full very fast and accumulate roaches. There is a dumpster on one side of the building, but its proximity is close enough that roaches will still be in the building. I had small roaches (Palmetto bugs I think theyre called) in my apartment for almost the entire year. I requested an exterminator and all that was done was a pesticide spray behind my fridge which stunk up my apartment for a few days. The roaches didnt seem to mind. I had to throw away a coffee maker, rice maker and kettle because those pesky bastards infected all of them. They also seem resistant to store bought traps and chemicals. If there is anything I can say positively about the Tobin Lofts near SAC it would be about the front office staff and apartments themselves. I personally never had an issue working with the staff and the maintenance guys are generally very nice when you work with them albeit pressed with a lot of other issues--like the elevator thats been out in building one for over a month and the water fountains next to the gym that have been out for over six months and, to my knowledge, still are. The apartments themselves are furnished enough for a college kid to live comfortably and theyve got a decent, contemporary design although somewhat cheap feeling. I wont be renewing my lease here, but there are certainly worse apartments out there. If you do plan on moving into Tobin just be sure to ask for a place on the quiet side or as far away from Pegasus as you can. Or if you dont mind the noise then more power to ya.
Wonderful place to live. The amentites are great and the staff is awesome! Always there to help out when you need them. 10/10
I see some of these reviews and it is sad, obviously the office cant control everything that happens. As residents we have to hold responsibility and make sure we dont make too much noise or leave trash where it shouldnt be left. It is beautiful apartments and key word being APARTMENTS! There are bars close by, if you didnt want noise you shouldve moved to a house. I have had such a great experience living at Tobin and so have my roomates. We all feel safe, the office staff has been so helpful to me and always willing to help except for a few but the new property manager has done a great job the property looks a lot better and my work orders get done in time now and she is always available for me to talk to her. I love living at Tobin Lofts!
This place was good I got all the help I needed tho there was a little time hold up.
Tobin lofts has been a great experience and offers great security and peace of mind in a living space. They are very quick at resolving issues and fixing repairs.
All bills included but the management charge you for everything. Also numerous times I’ve put in complaints and nothing was handled with my other roomates. However the maintenance crew are very helpful and get the job done. The maintenance cleans and what’s keeps the environment clean and tidy. Everytime I put in a work order it was handled appropriately and on time very thanksful for them
If I could give a half star or a zero star I would. The living experience was HORRIBLE!!! I paid very good money to have a place that I felt safe and secure in. That was hardly the case. I was forced to deal with non stop ridiculous partying and when I reported this the office showed me a sense of indifference. I reluctantly decided to try and live out the remainder of my lease. I left my lease early due to the heavy drugs and alcohol issues within the complex. If you are looking for a non stop party atmosphere then its the ideal location for you. I left due to an incident when one of the security guards was seen actually inside one of my neighbors apartment smoking out. She turned to me and asked me if I was in the market to buy some off her. I refused. The noise was unbelievable there. It was just an all around hostile horrible environment. So I did what was necessary and moved since the office was not willing to do anything to assist the situation. As a result they charged me literally over $5000.00 reletting fee for me moving due to excessive drug use and lack of security that took their job serious. Never have I lived in such a beautiful location that had such an issue with drugs, alcohol, and non stop noise and parties. Then to make it worse throwing a $5000.00 breaking lease fee on the mixture equals worst place to live in the city hands down!! I can understand charging a person to move who was breaking their lease for no reason at all but to charge me $5000.00 dollars!!!! They could have been willing to work with me considering the reason I left. (which I talked to the office about over and over and over) such a disappointment.
The apartments were nice, and the office staff were very helpful with the questions I had. I cannot wait to live there next year.
While having some slip ups, the staff are very nice, understanding, patient people. Hope in particular, she made all my problems disappear!
Move in was a breeze, its a great place and easy to make friends but the walls are honestly on the thin side. Other than that everyones pretty helpful
Horrible horrible place to set up residence. The property is disgusting and poorly managed (dog poop all around the property, bed bug issues, roach and other pest issues, etc.) Most of the residents that are college-aged are not the greatest/most respectful either.Management clearly does not care to run a decent apartment complex. They have horrible response time (if at all) and will likely try to scam you. While the place has some amenities, theyre minimal and lacking. The best/only good part to this place are David the maintenance guy and the resort-style pool.Avoid Tobin at all costs!(And yes, I did actually live there; Summer 2018)
I moved in this year in August. This place is great for what it is, and that is an apartment building for first time renters and students. I think everyone’s experience is dependent on where they live. Luckily I was placed in a good spot. They have many amenities that are awesome to use. I always go down to the leasing office to get my coffee but also to talk to the CA’s. They’re people too and pretty cool when you sit down and talk with them. My favorite is Rachel Schlinke. She is very helpful and always understanding. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the pool tables felt is kind of crappy. Otherwise this place is amazing and I’ve met many friends here.
I just got my appartment broken in to literally 2 days ago, I have barely received any help, and if you have no renters insurance you can expect nothing in return. Maybe if I’m lucky I’ll get another gift card cause that’s all they are willing to give you 🤷🏾♂️. “You have to watch the company you keep” was their response when I told them like it’s my fault??? Tobin lofts is just the saddest place to live and I bet the bare minimum will be granted to me. This is literally ridiculous...SMH.Jan3/2019 ; as expected they still telling me to pay 620 for rent and all they did was fix the doors what stopping the same thing from happening all over again. How can I pay money to them if it’s been taken from me. This is the worst place and I hate it here. Yet I’m right again they did the bare minimum.
The location of this place is awesome. Near to the downtown and All people around you are reaally friendly. I feel comfortable it and i love it ❤️
Unless, you wanna have horrible management staff. With a selfish, manager, rude staff And and extra slow maintenance team. Then this is the place for You. I suggest this place were to get a new manger cause this one is pretty rude disrespectful. Worst experience ever and Ive been here for only 3 weeks and Ive already had twice as many problems then I did living a year at my old apartments. Plus the Dish washer was broken for first 2 weeks until maintenance finally decided to do something. After calling about 8 times. Mold was growing on the walls when I moved in. Apartment wasnt cleaned upon move in. I had a leaking facet for a week. Sprinkler system just happens to accidentally goes off while Im trying to sleep at 4 in the morning leaving me soaked in bed.
The best place to live in! Awesome rooms, swimming pool, the training fitness room, kitchen, each of the events, and so much more!!
HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE!!!Ok so I moved in in August and had a problem with one of my roomates . And they “suddenly “lost all of my paper work for my dog even though I paid 300 bucks for her. And then after that they constantly harassed me always me and my best friend. Who moved in together, we had someone who wasn’t allowed to be there at all threaten my best friend and I and when we called the cops not once but twice the office told me I was causing to much problems. And then after that let the guy stroll right in to the complex. Even said hi to the guy. Another note the office and manager are selfish and stuck up rude ! Except for one . And when someone tried to kill themselves outside my window the manager Toby didn’t care about the kid only was mad cause he had to wake up early. Disorganized, rude, disrespectful, and also plays favorites with the residents.
Its getting better, there are still some issues that need to be worked on
I visited the property recently and it was nice and well kept, the staff was very attentive and friendly.
I would like to thank Shelby Dunford for great customer service and professionalism. My son was living there for three months and Ms Dunford was always so nice to him and always treated him with kindness and dignity and respect. It was his first time away from home and he loved the lofts and a lot of it was because Ms Dunford and her staff cared and helped him. I cant say thank you enough to Ms Dunford, words cannot express my sincere appreciation for what she did to help my son. He wants to one day come back and I will support him wholeheartedly. Thank you.
Nice apartments, mostly clean outside area but the maintenance team can sometimes take a but to answer a maintenance order
This property has been a great experience, and I appreciate the staffs hard work and awesome customer service! Their events, for residents, always bring a lot of fun and excitement!
Had a tour of tobin lofts everyone in office was great respectful cant wait to move in to this place!
Very noisy and doesn’t really quiet down until after 4:00 a.m.. By then, it’s already way too late to get restful sleep for class at 8. Roaches are big problem that doesn’t ever seem to fade. One of my closest friends, a former resident here, was traumatized by one of the Maintainence employees when he became waaaay too “friendly” 🤢Residents here let their dogs do their buisiness LITERALLY anywhere. On top of that, the provided grass patch for our four legged companions to utilize is too small for the number of them that live here. That being said, whenever it rains, a terrible gut wrenching odor of dog urine wafts through out the surrounding area. mgmt has conveniently placed outdoor seating all around the doggie grass. Nice.
Tobin is so over priced and it makes me sad that they are even called lofts because they arent spacious enough at all to seem so. If your room is on the side on Main you can hear the night club and local restaurant music until 2 AM. THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN. I cannot stress enough how annoying that is. I like my privacy and Im sure my neighbors enjoy theirs, itd be nice not to hear my loud, obnoxious neighbors. No pets allowed. The key cards to get into the gate are $50 to replace, paid $40 to be let into my apartment after my roommate locked me out one night, and theres a $100 fee if they catch you whatsoever with an animal inside. I mean at $1000.00+ rent there should certainly be more accommodating services and should include simple things like spare keys. Lower the price of your overt-rated lofts or step yo game up!
I have had it OFFICALLY with the apt complex I live in!!!!! So i have lived in this complex for about two years now... first year was great second year was a living hell...Hmmmm..... where should i start ...When i resigned my lease for the second year... the complex decided to add prison bars to building two after i had just signed my lease and the made me sign at 14-16 month lease.Parking.... forget it they are making me pay $150 to park in my complex and yet im moving out by the end July because F$&@ this place... if you live in an apt complex you should not have to pay for your parking.... but their excuse is because the garage on the weekends belongs to the restaurant ... but wait the garage belongs to SAC and they can park there for free... why is the restaurant charging ???? So basically if you are a sac student and live at tobin you have to pay $150 dollars to park and if you are not you have to pay $200Maintenance... i swear to god they take forever to repair something i could easily do myself but i dont want to be liable for any of their things... it literally took them 2 weeks to come fix a door latch that takes not even 5 min ro fix.Esthetically the apt is nice but i have had so many problems with them... for the price of what you pay here you can get a better apt on broadway and you dont have to deal with all this mess...
Awesome I love it here I love going swimming at the pool it awesome living here the people in the front office are awesome as well living st the Tobin loft is peachy
Awful. My sons apartment was broken into and all his stuff stolen, the Lofts could have cared less. Waited ALL DAY for their so called maintenance to come fix the door that was broken into with a crow bar. Not a safe place, High theft. The cop that filed my sons report said they have told the Lofts for Years to install cameras in the hallways for the safety of the people living there and thats never been done obviously. Do Not Recommend for anyone to live here.
Theres a lot of roaches in the area tbh. It needs to be taken care of.
Tobin Loft is an awsome place to live . Office staff is real help full . Managment is great. Maitnance staff is always on top of thing . I would recommend .
I love this place they front staff works hard to make you happy
I had a very bad experience here. I was treated like a kid and ignored. They were disorganized and lost my papers which caused me to sign them all again. They moved me from my desirable location even though I was promised this location. I would not recommended staying here.
Ok place to live if you dont mind noisy neighbors, the smell of weed, and completely useless people in the office, and really dirty hallways, stairways, and elevators. I really wish i had picked a different place to live.
The property has a great downtown location, a fun atmosphere, caring staff and the maintenance team really takes pride in their work and are so willing to help you, especially David!
Goods:Affordable - These apartments are cheap for downtown lofts, especially if youre living in Phase 1 where all utilities are included.Looks - They look good on the outside (notice I said outside, and only outside)Location Pros - The location is great, its downtown and you can certainly step out at night and not fear for your safety.Staff - The staff is friendly and there to help. They do care and while they may not know everything, they will go out of their way to find out.Bads:Condition of Lofts - I said they look good from the outside, and they do. Keep in mind though the people that live here are mostly college kids out on their own for the first time. The floors in the halls are covered in filth, kids are constantly vandalizing the apartments (knocking Exit signs down, spray painting stair wells, leaving trash everywhere, etc.). Just look down when you walk and youll see stains everywhere, a pressure washing in the hall way is long overdue. They will clean up the pool area at the time most people are trying to lease so it looks presentable, but dont worry it will become filthy and unusable shortly after (read below). The People - As mentioned above, the kids that live here are college kids. The majority of these kids have never lived on their own prior to this. Consequently there is a lot of partying. People will often get drunk, play loud music late at night at high volume and do drugs. It is what it is... College. While this isnt necessarily a bad thing, people should be aware that they dont get to choose their roommate in Phase 1, and if this isnt their kind of life, youre stuck living with it. You may think Im an old complaining fart, but Im 22, for someone my age to say that it gets this rowdy, trust me it does. They have a model unit they show you on your tour while youre with your parents, and they wont show it after dusk, because if parents saw what went on there at night, they likely wouldnt let their kids live there.Build Quality - These apartments are built CHEAP. They are only a few years old and pipes are already breaking, the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything that goes on in your neighbors apartment and the common area, walls are beginning to crack, etc.Location Cons - While Tobin Hill is a safe neighborhood, you have to be smart, dont leave your car unlocked or valuables in it, dont walk around in the middle of the night covered in expensive jewelry, etc. Additionally, Tobin Hill is home to the famous Strip, the gay district of San Antonio. This means there are lots of clubs and restaurants that have music on full blast in the middle of the night during the weekend. While it is admittedly quite fun to head on down to Luthers at night and enjoy some food and energetic vibes, keep in mind that if you live facing Main St. you likely wont be getting to bed on the weekends before 1AM. And during the week the occasional Tobin Lofts parties that the college kids decide to have by the pool will keep you up as well.Lease - The lease in confusing. Everybodys lease is up on July 31st, even if you signed a lease the month before (June). I didnt know this and since my lease was signed in September, I thought I had a 12 month lease. I was notified on August 1st that I had 24 hours to vacate or they would dispose of all my possessions. The confusing part is the rent. The lease said I had to stay until July 31st, but the rent would be billed for a full year at $9300 with a 12 month payment plan. I stayed a total of 10 months ($7750) and was told I had to move out because my lease ended on July 31st. They also said I didnt have to pay the remaining $1200 that the contract said I owed. I dont know why they have that amount on there if Im going to have to move at the end of July regardless. Its confusing and I was given little warning or notice, which caused me to have to move out overnight. Fortunately I have family in San Antonio, otherwise I would have been left homeless.
Been living here for 2 years, great amenities for reasonable price
The worst place ever. EXTREMELY RECOMMENDED EVERYBODY TO STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THESE SHADDY PEOPLE!!!!!
I’ve had so many problems with this place it’s unreal. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Maintenance takes forever to fix a problem. They have to many bug issues and management has been very rude at times when I needed help or there was a problem.
The workers at the front office have gotten better over time. Gia is always there to help if you have trouble with payments for your lease. The maintenance works really slow though.
This apartment/dorm is a trap, the leasing counselor manipulate students straight out of high school to sign a lease that they cant get out of. I also had a horrible experience with rude employees there that arent willing to assist me with my needs
Horrible service!!! DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE!!!! The staff told me I was all cleared and had no more payment then sent me a letter in the mail saying I owed them $300!! When I tried to talk to the staff the so called Manager told me i need to pay it or she will charge me even more!!! I hate rude people and this was the worst choice to move here SAVE YOUR MONEY TRUST ME!
Do not live in this place or think your kids will be okay in this place. Very poor management in this complex that refuses to resolve any problem that is asked in them. High crime
Many of the residents here are rude and terrible tippers when they have food delivered! Hope the karma is returned!
Tobin lofts is the best place to live
Amazing Staff, Awesome location!
If you hate the sound of leaf blowers and chainsaws in the morning, dont move here.
Um its ok
Pretty crappy.
Beds are hard as rocks
Excellent service! The property is very well located and the employees are super friendly! They gave me a complete tour of the property and I am fascinated! I highly recommend everyone looking to live in downtown San Antonio to visit this beautiful property!
Tobin Loft are undoubtedly one of the ideal places for a student, being close to San Antonio College, it becomes a very good place to reside during your studies, besides ... it has GYM, Pool, WI-FI, and a favorable environment. :)
