Luxury Mid Rise BS. Do NOT rent here!! Trash lays around for days on end, added more photos of trash outside of units at 8 am, so much for valet trash...a service you’re REQUIRED to pay for, but not one they’re required to actually do. There’s absolutely NO security, even though they lie and say there is. Maintenance, management for that matter, doesn’t work weekends. They’re gate stayed broken all weekend and I walk outside to find my truck on blocks, parked on the third floor of their parking garage. The manager tells me she doesn’t know how to review the security footage (if it even works) because she’s “new”. No apology or even attempt to try to get someone that does know what they’re doing, she blew off the SAPD officer and other tenant that had his truck broken into as well.

I love the Abbey! The leasing office is awesome, specifically Brianna, and they are always so helpful with anything I need. The maintenance team is also amazing, they came over well after 9pm one time to fix my freezer. I have lived here a few years and I have never had to wait for any issue to be fixed. When I needed a new kitchen faucet, they had a replacement ready and installed the very next day! This is a beautiful property and I absolutely love living here!

I lived here for nearly 3 years. While the layout of my unit was a bit strange and the design was a bit dated, recent upgrades toward the end of my stay brightened up the place. When it came time to leave, the office handled everything professionally as they had during my time as a resident.Frequent fire alarms and occasional visits by police made life interesting, but I never felt unsafe here. The people in the office did their utmost to make it feel like a community and the ownership constantly worked to improve and upgrade the grounds while I was there. It can only get better as time goes by.

Update: 4.26.21They finally came through with the repairs and we expect to have a normal life soon.-------------------------------This review is being posted from a second account because google blocked the original. God knows whyI moved to San Antonio after living in the North for decades and it has been my biggest culture shock. It is not the same country. Today 4-15-21 is our 2 month anniversary of living in a 1BR apt. when we rented a 2BR apt - all because a pipe froze and the rug got all wet in one BR. It is unknown how many more weeks and months the repair will take.

The place was already pretty amazing, but recent upgrades have made it that much better. The amenities include a state of the art fitness center, media room “movie theatre”, indoor basketball court, swimming pool, outdoor grill are, pet park, parking garage (with plenty of spaces), lots of closet space, meeting room, courtesy officer, on call maintenance, ceiling fans, black or stainless steel appliances, working elevators, and gated entry. Only downside is COVID restrictions.Staff is awesome especially Brie the assistant manager. All of them go above and beyond for their residents.

The Property Manager, the staff and the maintenance crew at this property are all nice people and that’s very important when you think about the people you have to see and interact with regularly. All work orders in our experience have always been handled same day to next day at the latest. We moved here because we just could not beat the location and value in the amount of bedrooms and square footage you get for your money... along with all of the amenities (gym, theater, indoor basketball regulation half court, is pool, business center, dog park, separate storage rooms AND a parking garage).... we just couldn’t pass Abbey at Grande Oaks up

The property is so well maintained by a friendly and courteous crew who are so attentive to taking care of our home! The office staff are always there to help in any way they can. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home ! They are organized, attentive, hard working and most of all a friendly caring group that have become my friends and an important part of my community family! They are so great at promoting community interaction with their fun and creative “ get togethers” at our beautiful club house. This place has it all, fantastic club house, movie theater, business center, indoor basketball court, gorgeous pool area and a parking garage! You can’t go wrong calling this place Home! Thanks to all of my “The Abbey at Grande Oaks “family!

My husband and I have lived here for over 4 years and we love it. The staff are very friendly, helpful, appreciative, caring, and attentive to the residents. The parking garage is a wonderful asset. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. If you are looking for an apartment to rent your search will stop here. You will love living in this complex.

My husband and I moved into the Abbey at Grande Oaks on April 1 of this year. This is our third apartment in San Antonio and by far the best. Noise levels are minimal (occasional traffic from the driveway), maintenance is prompt and efficient and the office staff is great. We are delighted with our decision to move here and hope to stay for a long time.

Definitely not worth the price $78 that you must pay for TV service. I moved here less than a couple of weeks ago and I already have maintenance orders that haven’t been completed!, I prefer not to go into details. I mean I understand they have gotten amenities and whatnot but if someone just moved in and they already got some issues that haven’t been resolved yet!! That is just too much. A relatively large residential complex like that should have enough maintenance staff.Update!!Forgot to mention two important things, the alarms in here had gone like 4-5 times within 3 months!!! One time it stayed way over 30 mins and it was extremely loud. Secondly, I’d seen police cars on numerous occasions, a person moving to here would set high expectations due to the fact that this place is relatively pricey and highly rated. It should be safe in here, the presence of police multiple times proves something.Lastly, I would like to say that my rating isn’t based on management, because they are personable and I’ve never had an issue with them.

Living here for over 2 years and 3 months. My car got vandalized twice. Once last year, and as recently as last week. There were no steps taken by the management last year. This time around, I was told in a very rude way by the person in the front office, that it can happen to anyone.I have been asked to send out a letter to Abbey corporate. Being a doctor, my schedule doesn’t give me luxury to waste time reaching out to their corporate. If they really care about criminal activity at their apartment complex, they should reach out and take steps. Or least have people, who can be courteous to their residents. I normally don’t write bad reviews, but this place deserves a bad rating!

The onsite staff are professional, polite and do what they can with the challenge they face. Unfortunately the property has no shortage of problems. There is an above average amount of crime (both transient & within the community), most especially within the parking garage - or the endless packages that are never delivered or otherwise delivered and stolen. In addition, if you are a 1st floor renter the HVAC units are directly outside of your bedrooms. These old units are very loud and will keep you up/wake you up every time they power on - and they arent just your apartment, they are clusters. Who is the incompetent genius who thought that location was a good choice? Last, if you wind up toward the back of the facility, the pet walkers have no reservation about walking up to your bedroom windows as they allow their pets to defecate in and around these AC units without picking up after - a wonderful morning scent to start your day. The property itself makes it clear they take no responsibility in theft or other crime within the property ground - and understandably so from a business perspective. That doesnt help you, however, when you think about the place you live. Credit to the team on site as Ive said, because they manage to deal with these issues to the extent they can .. but when you consider these fundamental issues and the choices of new properties in and around the Leon area - you are just served better elsewhere.

I had big expectations for the business room. I thought I’ll go there often to study and print papers for school, but I rarely do because when I go there there are other people who make noise and that prevents me from focusing. Also, there is a lack of papers in the printer and one time the printer didn’t work. There was multiple false fire alarm at night. Moreover, walls are paper thin I can easily hear what my neighbor is saying which is annoying at night when I’m trying to sleep.

I have been a resident here at Abbey for almost six years and this has definitely been one of the best and cleanest apartment communities I have lived at by far. Their staff is amazing even when it changes, thus the maintenance crew is equally competent in completing my many request in a timely and efficient manner. Kudos to the management for running a great team of individuals that always make sure my kiddos and I are always well taken care of!! We absolutely love you guys!!

Fantastic place to live. Not too much land for pets to roam around but do have nice outdoor areas for the space they have. Some owners do clean up after the pets but the maintenance team and staff are really the ones that make the place great. Prices are around the same as comparable complexes. Having the 3 story parking garage does make you a little spoiled though. You get used to you cars being covered. 5 stars.

Four months ago, having decided to downsize and move to an apartment, we began looking at what was available near my wifes work. Im a firm believer in researching online reviews, so when I saw what great ratings The Abbey at Grande Oaks was getting, I began the process of checking them out more thoroughly. I looked at both longterm and newer reviews on several social media websites, and the consensus confirmed my initial assessment. I called The Abbey and went through the application process. The application was quickly approved, and the few obstacles that arose were handled seamlessly by the office staff (Kody, the leasing agent, Marlene, the assistant manager, and Vanessa, the manager). We moved into our apartment in mid-June, and after two months I can say that this is the best apartment complex Ive ever lived in. The staff truly cares about the comfort and safety of the residents, repairs are done promptly, and the grounds are clean and well-kept. (Our balcony overlooks the pool, and the landscaping looks like a resort.) Our apartment (a 2-bedroom/2 bath) is beautiful, with spacious rooms, high ceilings and lots of storage. The kitchen is large and well-appointed. (The only minor drawback is that there isnt a built-in microwave, so we had to buy our own.) We love the fact that there is a huge multi-level parking garage and two elevators--both of which make life so much easier. Considering everything it has to offer, The Abbey is surprisingly affordable, with move-in specials, basic cable, valet trash pick-up and lower rates for water. (The required monthly amenity fee of around $70 covers the extra perks--which we think are well worth the extra cost.) Another benefit to living here is the convenient location--we are within a 10 minute drive of most of the businesses we frequent, so we rarely have to get on the freeways anymore--what a relief. If youre looking for comfort, convenience and peaceful surroundings at an affordable price, this is the place!

Place is great, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. If the price is a deterrent for you keep in mind they are about even if not cheaper than other similar apartments. The only thing I would warn people about is sometimes getting out of the complex on Eckhert Rd can be a hassle due to traffic at certain times of the day, other than that I was pleased with my stay.

We really enjoyed the complex. We had 2nd floor 2 bedroom apartment with poolside view. We were transitioning between houses for 6 months. The view looked like a resort so we felt like an extended vacation instead of an apartment. We loved the business center, the holiday gift wrapping center, the concierge package service, monthly get together --- ummm pancake breakfast--- and our cars were well protected in the parking garage. Loved it here

I was in a huge time crunch in trying to find a place after finding the house I was wanting to purchase fell through. My apartment realtor literally found this place within the week of my move and I could not have been happier. The apartment I live in literally looks like the pictures online (which is saying a lot considering other apartments only show a showroom on their sites). All the amenities - trash valet, business lounge, 24-hr gym, pool and even the office hours - everything, makes this place one of the best apartments in town. The staff, I could not say more about the staff. They really make an effort to get to know you and are always quick to answer all your questions whether its via email or in person. JUST COME AND LIVE HERE ALREADY!! P.s. having a parking garage makes one really spoiled!

I have been living here since september and I really like it! I have not had any maintenance issues or any complaints. The apartment was immaculate when we moved in. The only thing I would have to complain about is the ppl upstairs are easily heard when walking. But other than that I would recommend this place to anyone. They have gathering every month to get ppl to mingle, have personal trainer on site and a nice gym with free weights and room you can do yoga in.
