I have been meaning to do a review of this place for months, but never quite got around to it. I wandered in for an eyebrow wax months ago. It wasnt a big deal, as I was just there for a one time service. However, the lack of professionalism in certain directions made me immediately realize I would not be back. The owner, Donna, talked to her other customers, who I assume are her friends/regulars, nonstop about her religion. As a non-Christian, this made me extremely uncomfortable. If that is the type of business she chooses to run, fine, but she should advertise it as such. I have told all of my non-Christian friends that unless they want to have religion shoved down their throats from the time they enter until the time they leave, to never come here. Further, she seemed to be pushing her customers to pose for pictures for her, to buy her books - likely religious tropes - and one girl looked like she didnt want to, but bought the book anyway. Since when is it a customers job to do favors for a service provider? This pushy woman seems like a real piece of work. The only reason I gave this place two stars instead of one is because the wax job was good and I was in and out fairly quickly. This woman needs a reality check. Either advertise as an Evangelical Christian business, or keep it in church.
My name is Joy Holland. I received an excellent experience with the facial. It was very relaxing and peaceful. I felt like I had a new face. The mani/pedi combo was nice also :)
I bought a spa package through Groupon for as a gift, before I got to this desperate for money place they to me there would be a gratitude fee for $29.10 (I guessed 15% of the original spa package). I had no problem with that until I was informed the this is a pre-pay fee before you receive any services. I dont know where except for Rock Hill, SC where people receive minimally adequate education that anyone pay gratitude for services they have not received.Gratitude:the state of being grateful, thankful or appreciation.
I recently visited Covring Day Spa and after reading to previous reviews, I TOTALLY DISAGREE. My visit was very relaxing and the staff were very professional and pleasant thoughout my experience. I had a facial and pedicure and my experience was great and I would definitely recommend this spa.
Me an my wife received excellent service on Feb 15th. I suggest anyone looking for a great time to please visit this spa and refer to others.
Me amd my 8 and 9 yr old daughters have been there they recieved a roller set and myself a press and curl. We all have naturally curly hair medium to long lengths. Mrs.Donna did a great job with my girls hair and mine. I am a hairstylist and somedays i just dont want to do my own hair and she came just in time. Beautiful fully equipped building in a Victorian house love the set up. And very relaxing and didnt take a long time to be serviced as well as she got me in and out the chair!!!
I want to piggy back off of the previous review regarding the spa package from Groupon. I had the same experience. Right when I checked in I was charged $29.10 for gratuity that I had no idea about. Without anything said, I paid it. I had to fill out paperwork for a few minutes..then stood there and the owner ran my debit card..I was then told to go to the waiting area where the first service provider took me back 30 minutes after my appointment time. I had purchased a package on Groupon for a spa day, with a one hour massage, one hour facial, and manicure/pedicure combo. My massage was decent, maybe a little rushed, but she was not bad. After my massage she kindly told me to get dressed and meet her back outside the door when I was ready. There is a restroom inside the massage area, I walked in there, there was a black ring around the toilet showing that it had not been cleaned in I dont know how long. I used the restroom and stepped out to meet the esthetician. This is where my spa day went wrong...she quickly introduced herself, told me to get on the table, no detail, mumbled something else that I am still not sure of, and stepped out of the room. I got undressed, got on the table for my facial, and she came in the room about 10 minutes later. I looked at the clock when she started my facial, and I looked at the clock when she finished. It lasted 17 minutes. It was supposed to be an hour. At least that what I paid for when I originally purchased the package, and thats what I was supposedly tipping on?? Not only did it not last long, she rushed (obviously) the whole entire facial and just threw a bunch of crap on my face and rubbed it in for a split second and then wiped it off. There was no music in the facial room, all I could hear was her stomping around. Ive never ahd a facial where they stand up and walk around the whole time to get the things that they need, they have always sat on a stool behind your head quietly grabbing the products to be used. The room was also really bright, not spa-like AT ALL.At this point I am just getting mad, but I never said a word. She told me to get dressed after and head downstairs to the pedicure room. I decided not to get a manicure as I had just had one the week before. The pedicure was not good either. She rushed that as well, I soaked for not 2 minutes, she took my old polish off, threw some cuticle oil on my toes, and stuck them back in the water. She rushed the clear base coat, painted them a dark red color, and rushed the top coat, painting it on sideways. (the opposite way that youre supposed to.) My spa day was over after that and I just walked out not saying a word. My polish chipped that evening and is still chipping and smudging to this day. I am very very disappointed in the service I received and I will not be back. I hope whoever sees this does not look at this as a complaint, but more like a few helpful tips. The owner Donna needs better service providers if she plans to make it in the spa world. I worked at spa for 6 years as a receptionist, and then a massage therapist, and I tried my hardest not to compare because each business is different, but this was just not acceptable. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Sorry.
