This was my 2nd time to Ape + Canary and the first time Ive gone back to the same spa and had services provided by the same people. Liz provided the massage and Susan the facial. I recommended the spa to a friend this morning. The spa is not super large, but they have a nice sitting area that’s tranquil and set with the right ambient spa lighting. They offer coffee and tea service and have light snacks like granola bars on hand.

I love this spa! The waterfall showers and sauna are wonderful and the massages I’ve had from Devon are top notch. The front desk employees are kind and efficient. The sanctuary is peaceful and they even offer beer and wine, although I’ve never seen anyone yet take them up on the offer since I usually go there in the morning. Highly recommend.

I recently visited Ape + Canary for the first time with my mom & sister, and we absolutely loved it! We each got a 60 min massage, and all 3 masseuses were amazing! This spa truly excels in every aspect. Each staff member we encountered was knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. The space is beautiful and impeccably clean. They offer robes and sandals for you to wear throughout your stay, beverages available while relaxing in the sanctuary, locker rooms stocked with several products that you may need, and even a little treat in the massage room! Relaxing in the sanctuary was so incredible that we didnt want to leave. If you are looking for a place to relax and be pampered, look no further. Im already looking forward to my next visit!

Spent almost 4 hours at Ape & Canary, and it was amazing! From my massage to facial, I felt they were catered to fit my needs. When it came to my nail appointment, I was able to switch to a pedicure as my tech had time!Highly recommend spending time here to be pampered all day!

My mom and I had a great experience at Ape & Canary. We each had 60 minute massages. The locker room, lounge and spa were attractive, clean and comfortable. The service providers were attentive and gave an excellent massage. We were offered beverages when we arrived. The drinks were brought to the lounge with a small plate of chocolates while we relaxed and waited for our services to begin.When I booked the massages through the app, I was only able to see one confirmation. I contacted the spa to confirm off hours. The next day I received a call and email confirming the appointments.I will be making another appointment.

Josh gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had.

Cory is an absolute GEM of a human being and a wizard with scissors. So much talent. I always leave feeling fantastic and gorgeous not just because of the wonderful haircut. The entire staff is extremely welcoming and inclusive to all people. I have so much appreciation for them. The nail services and massages are incredible too. There’s basically no service here that will disappoint you.

I visited Ape + Canary for the first time yesterday. The Spa and the staff are warm and welcoming. It is decorated so cute and I was able to sit by the fireplace in a very comfy sanctuary area before my facial appointment. My facial itself was very relaxing. Nichole did a really nice job and is super sweet. There was chocolate and some green tea for me to enjoy when my facial was completed. I was then surprised at checkout with a little bottle of brut and a rose as a special Mothers Day treat too. I would highly recommend Ape + Canary and look forward to returning some time again soon!***UPDATED**** I have visited Ape + Canary two more times since my original review. Once for a pedicure with Casey and once for another facial with Nichole. Both visits were just as exceptional as my first and I look forward to my next visit. Ape + Canary is a perfect place to unwind and treat yourself. Both Casey and Nichole were so sweet and great at what they do!

I had the best experience at Ape & Canary with my mom and sisters! I had an hour long facial with Susan. We all had facials either with Susan or Nichole. I had never had a facial before but I dont think I would want to go anywhere else after this experience! The lounge to hang out in while we each had our appointments was stylish, comfortable and tranquil. I loved that they offer beverages while you wait (including beer and wine) and you could lounge in a robe too. AND the dark chocolate truffle and green tea in the facial room was fantastic. Besides all that, how did I never have a facial before?! My skin felt amazing with the Image Skincare Vitamin C products which smelled divine. We will definitely be back again and again! Thank you!

A wonderful experience - excited to become a member!

So professional and accommodating. I went for a girls weekend on 5/29/21. Our massage therapists were really welcoming and made sure we had communication about the pressure and our trouble areas and what we were comfortable with what they were doing. Our manicures and pedicures were so fun! Gabby and Casey were so friendly and talkative I felt like they had been long time friends.My sister had a facial with Susan and shes been raving about it for days now.As a plus size woman, I have to say I was nervous that they wouldnt be able to accommodate me with robe size/tables/etc. But they had bigger robes and made me very comfortable. I will return and recommend it to all.

Nothing I dont love about this place! My escape. My little slice of heaven. Everyone is so awesome. Special shout out to Gabby, the magician who works her magic on my cuticles!

I cannot say enough about Paul + the rest of the staff at Ape + Canary. They recently did the hair and make up for myself and the rest of my family for our wedding, and they did an incredible job. They are professional, courteous, talented, and so welcoming. I would highly recommend them and I cannot wait to go back the next time I am in Rochester.

I had a signature facial with Alyssa and loved it! I left with my skin feeling refreshed. The products they use are great. Already booked my next appointment.

Words cannot describe... So I had a spa day with my girlfriend, we each got a massage, a facial and a manicure. If I had the money, I would do it all again every day! I felt so relaxed afterwards, it was absolute bliss.

Benn is a natural talent and does a phenomenal job with his craft. I went in to donate 13 of hair, I didnt know exactly what style cut I wanted, and gave Benn very little direction. We hit google for some inspo and he went to cutting. Im absolutely in love with the outcome and Ive had so many compliments. He really matched the style to my personality, and also most importantly to me was the minimal time Ill have to spend on it myself.

I had a prenatal massage with Liz and she was absolutely wonderful. The facility is gorgeous and completely welcoming, everyone I interacted with was kind and helpful. I will definitely be back.

I always enjoy my trip to Ape + Canary. I just went for a hair cut and Cory did an amazing job. Did just what I was looking for, which surprisingly can be hard to find. I love sitting in the sanctuary before my appointment and I have never been disappointed with any service I have had there. Would recommend to everyone!

I was referred by a friend and was desperate to find a same day massage. I was thrilled to have landed an opening with Liz. From the moment I arrived, I knew this experience was going to be everything and more. I felt my safety was of top priority and this sense carried through beyond the initial screening. The locker room, Sanctuary, and massage rooms were super clean and reflective of how to offer the most for guests while attending to safety.Liz was responsive and an expert in her field. Afterwords, she talked through what she was doing and how to support tension and pressure well after the massage was over. I was so impressed and felt like my visit mattered. Loved the design of this salon. Very relaxing and welcoming. I could have comfortably stayed in the waiting room all day! I had the pleasure of Gabby doing my manicure. Incredible spa experience. It was the perfect spa day with my significant other. The general manager ensured our spa experience was exceptional. Everyone was professional and friendly. The treatments provided by both the masseuse and aesthetician I saw were thorough and it was apparent they had experience. I booked this for someone other than myself as a birthday gift and they LOVED it. they expressed nothing but positive feedback! back pains that had been there for months were relieved and they kept saying that the massage was not painful at all, but very relaxing. it was a nonstop wow for 5 hours after the massage SO I think.... we have a winner! if we could give 10 stars we would! thank you so much for the great communication and quality service!

This is my first spa experience ever, and they did not disappoint. I had great conversation with Casey and although it was her first time trying marble on my nails she did a wonderful job. Everyone made me feel incredibly accommodated, the space was clean and beautiful and peaceful, and I truly experienced a relaxing sensation in a comfortable environment. Im even a member now!!

Got a massage on Valentine’s Day to unwind and relax. I have 2 little ones at home and just needed it. The massage itself was great. However I had an allergic reaction to what ever she used on my body and aloe won’t make it better. I wish she would have told me what she was using so I know not to use it again. My skin feels burnt. And is very painful all over.Odd being that my skin isn’t very sensitive but considering the circumstances; I won’t be back. Great massage. Poor communication.

Me and bff had pedicures w/ Gabby & Kasey!!! They were both wonderful and did an excellent job and were very accommodating. The space is gorgeous! From start to finish we had a wonderful experience!

My stylist was pleasant to talk with and extremely talented. Everyones been raving about my new haircut, and I couldnt be happier!

The pedicure and wax services were great. The front desk however needs a little more organization. I arrived 15 minutes early for my services. I was asked my name and then to sit in the waiting room. Fifteen minutes after my appointment was scheduled to begin the girl at the front desk called my cell phone asking where I was, to which I responded THE WAITING ROOM. After a short time I was taken to my pedicure. 40 minutes into my one hour scheduled appointment, my pedicurist was told I had to go to a 12pm wax service, which I was brought to. Again my services were great just some disorganization at the desk.

Gabby was amazing!! I got a lash lift and she did such a good job!! I would recommend Gabby to anyone!! The place is so gorgeous and relaxing!

Everyone that I have seen for a service has been great. Benn and/or Salina for haircut and style. Gabby for eyebrow wax and pedicure. All are fantastic! Paul at the front desk is always very helpful with answering any questions or making appointments via phone or text, very professional service all around.

I’ve been coming here for months and I love it!! My nails always look great.

My fiancé and I got pedicures here. The pedicures were $65 a piece and supposed to be 60 minutes. Ours unfortunately were only 35 minutes and in my opinion not worth $65. They werent awful and if they were $35 or less Id be fine with them, but not worth the price in my opinion or my fiancés. We typically go to a spa for our pedicures and pay $65. We just wanted to try out a new place this time, but definitely will not be going back. The pedicures were also done on a cushioned bench and not the usual pedicures massage chairs. The polish I picked was done nicely and is pretty!

Stylist knew his stuff and was friendly. Im definitely drive to Rochester for my next cut.

I absolutely loved my experience at the Ape + Canary !For starters my facial (express facial with dermaplanig) with Sherry had me glowing afterwards, you can really tell the way she moved her hands that she loves her job. (no pun intended) Hands down the best facial I have ever had! You will not be disappointed very knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable ( PS the products they use work wonders). Secondly i had an AMAZING massage with Liz, she has amazing hands and educated me on what she could tell was going on with my body. Not the average salon massage therapist at all, she listened to me and worked her magic. Im so very thankful for such a great experience!Another highlight was the couch in the sanctuary OMG amazing and so relaxing.Was the perfect place to relax between appointments along with the awesome hot sauna! All of staff was amazing ALL of them i love when customer service is this excellent! I live in Colorado but next time im in Rochester i will defiantly be back!

I’ve been here twice already, it’s amazing!! The people who work there are so nice, they make you feel at ease and comfortable. Usually with high end spas I feel judged; not here!! It has a laid back vibe, and you can stay as long as you want. Will definitely be going back! I’m even thinking about their membership program, it seems worth it!

It was my first time and even with all of the COVID restrictions I had a wonderful massage. I was welcomed warmly and started relaxing immediately. I will definitely return.
