I was happy at first with the result and the service, (dipping powder and pedicure) everyone was nice overall. Until a few days later my nails started to fall! I was on vacation visiting family so I had to get my nails fixed there. So paying $85 + $20 tip for my nails lasting less than a week, I don’t think is worth it.
My mom and I came to this nail salon after a neighboring nail salon we were referred to was booked. We thought after seeing this place to try it out. A nail technician asked what we wanted so I replied pedicure and manicure. She then proceeded to tell us that we don’t do acrylic. We didn’t say one word about acrylic nails! We told her that was fine and asked if they had any openings. She then said no. My issue with this encounter is why would the staff member assume we would want acrylic nails? And if you didn’t have any openings, why not say that from the beginning? My mother and I left and will never give this place another thought because we refuse to give our money to a business that stereotypes African Americans. ADVICE: Do better and train your staff on customer service and stereotypes/bias.
I got an ok french manicure the base wasn’t opaque and the tips were not symmetrical or opaque. Then they left me at the drying table for like 20 mins so i just left. I don’t like the way my nails were filed either, they were not rounded. I couldn’t tell the girl how i wanted them either because she didn’t understand english very well. Then When she put the top coat on it smeared the white polish. It’s now 3 days later and they’re already chipping!! would not recommend
So sad to have to give such a terrible rating but I can’t support this business any longer and honestly I’d give it 0 stars if I could. I also apologize in advance for the length of this review but people need to know what they are getting prior to booking with this establishment.I have been going to this salon for 4+ years now and have NEVER had an issue in the past. Previously I would give this salon a 5 star rating and I often recommended them to friends.Prior to COVID I would visit for manis and pedis biweekly but during COVID I did not go due to obvious reasons. I finally started going back a little over a month ago and noticed the management had changed. Candy used to be the previous manager and she was great, I did notice that some staff still remains which I was happy to see as well. I can say that the manager currently at this establishment is also very friendly, courteous and timely in her duties. But the services I have had over the past month have been nothing short of disappointing, all with the same nail technician who I can say is very friendly and quick to get the work done, which normally I appreciate as I have a busy life. BUT! Whatever she is doing or the polish they are using is absolutely terrible.I have had three mani pedis in the past 5 weeks - (2 light colored gels and one dark.) I noticed upon selecting my gel that the brand selection had changed. Essie and OPI used to be the main brands they carried but they have since added CND and Memory along with a few others (all I am told are great quality brands.)Well the first visit I chose a memory light colored gel which within less than 24 hours had turned brown. I went back to have them fixed as I was going out of town that day. I called ahead of time trying to be courteous knowing it was the weekend and they’d be busy, but upon arrival I was given a hard time. The manager made me feel like whatever had happened was my fault, and I was told I’d be charged for a polish change. I asked to switch to a darker gel so I wouldn’t have to worry being I was going to be out of town for 2 weeks. After a little push back they did fix my nails and changed the color for no additional charge, which I was very appreciative for. The dark color they changed my nails to I had no issue with (this was an OPI brand - one I normally select) the color lasted and did not chip the entire 2 weeks I was gone, I even spent some time away at the beach with no issues!Being they fixed them and it was the FIRST time I had ever had an issue there I figured I’d go back and give them another chance. I went in today for another mani/pedi, with one of my friends. I selected a light gel again, a white with pink undertones, but I chose to stay away from the memory brand and selected instead the CND brand. The color was gorgeous, the tech did a great job in my opinion. I got home around 3:30pm, wrapped a couple gifts for my sisters bridal shower, went to dinner and came home to watch a movie. By 10pm (not even 8 hours later) my nails are already starting to yellow/brown, see images below. Not only did I have an issue but my girlfriends pedi smudged and her technician wouldn’t fix them because they were too busy with a big group. He told her they’d be okay.Normally I’d tell someone to go back and have them fixed even though it is a huge inconvenience. But with that said, I can’t continue to allow myself to keep paying $70+ for terrible results hours after the service. I am sure I will receive a response to this comment, and honestly I don’t need or even want one. I’m just here to warn others that something isn’t right and they should shy away from this establishment. It’s honestly sad for me to say that because the staff is very friendly and the salon is very neat and clean. But I will never be going back to this place in the future. I just hope they take something from this post and fix whatever is broken there. So very, very disappointed.
When I walked into the nail salon I informed the nail tech my toe nail was broke and I had UV gel on my nails. Would she be able to remove it? She proceeded to say she could. So I sat down. She started with my nails by removing the gel with a drill gun I told her she was hurting me she continued and ignored me till I pulled my hand back. We then started my pedicure. She told me it’ll be $5 extra to put acrylic on my broken toe nail I said okay. She started my pedicure that’s when the experience got worst. She filed my toe nail down so much it wasn’t there anymore. I decided to just get polish and continue on my nails. She refused service & charged me $78 for a pedicure. I left unhappy and very upset.
They were awesome, the girl was super patient with me, and I will be coming here again. Great selection of gloss/polish.
Ping is my absolute favorite! I always get a dip/powder manicure. She is fast but does not make mistakes.. I always love how my nails turn out when she does them! She drills them down so they arent too thick and feel like my natural nail but much stronger ! Highly recommend Ping !!! I would attach a photo but unsure how to ...
Was considering giving this place another try, but have changed my mind. Very disappointed with managements response to the below review. Management clearly did not read the review properly (getting two facts wrong) and fails to address a valid concern of racial bias among staff.CUSTOMER:>BUSINESS REPLY:>
My pedicure was way to fast and they asked me for a tip I felt like I had to give them one I didnt like that
Came here for a Brazilian wax twice. The first time was fine, no real issues. They did an okay job on the service. The second time I came, they tried to tell me the back wasnt included in the wax even though it most definitely was the first time. After me asking why was it included in the price the first time but not the second, the person I was speaking with got pretty irate but eventually sent me back to have the wax finished. It was very abnormally painful and I left feeling very uncomfortable. After I got home, I told my partner to look at the area and he took a picture for me. There was literally a deep CUT on my lady bits down to the white meat. Never get waxed here.
I have been coming here for years and Sophia and her staff are always so kind and warm and welcoming. I bring my friends and family here too and everyone loves how their nails and toes look and the professionalism and timeliness. I am so happy to have a place like this locally that makes me feel special and is affordable and clean and safe! Please don’t listen to reviews from the customers who break their nails and expect the staff to fix them for free. These are the same people that complain about prices and then don’t tip and then leave bad reviews hoping to get something for free.
Reasonable prices and great service.
Called mid day to set an appointment for their mani-pedi special. At 6pm I showed up and after a couple of minutes I was quickly sat. The gal helping me was sweet and polite, my issue is that the job felt rushed. She did not shape my toe nails as I like and the manicure left me wanting more. I know the $37 is a great deal, but I was expecting a better overall experience. I was rushed in and out in 35 minutes. I guess if you are looking for quick service, this location is a good option. If you are looking for an experience I would look elsewhere.
Lovely people. Very affordable. Good color selection. Not crowded. Better to bring cash.
Always come here for a little papeering. Sofia watches over everyone s work, expecting good quality and, above all, kind service.
Waited at least 15 min even though we had an appointment. Manicure was sloppy and chipped a couple days later.
Very Friendly, Amazing Foot and Leg Massage, Great Polish Selection, SO Clean!!!
Yesterday (June 29th) was my birthday and my wife took me out for a pedicure and foot massage...You get a lil discount for paying in cash here😀
My feet thanks yall! Greatest experience in my life. It was my first time today and thank you for making it great! 😊😊😊👍👍👍
I received a manicure and the lady told me it was done drying. As soon as I stepped out of the shop, multiple nails started to horribly smudge. My friend got a manicure as well and left with sideways brush streaks on each nail. The lady also plucked his nail cuticles/folds harshly causing him to bleed a lot. Which I believe he shouldve gotten compensation for. Also, They told us to pay before service which I thought was bizarre as I have never had to pay upfront before. I think its an excuse to do terribly and get away with it. As well as, other people didn’t have to pay before their service so I wonder if it was an act of prejudice. Very unhappy about the service.
They were so nice in here! I got a spa pedicure and it was so worth it. My feet are super soft. I enjoyed the extra things they did like a hot stone massage. They were really covid compliant and I felt super safe the whole time. Will definitely be back!
Kind staffs and great pedicures!
I got a beautiful pedicure !
Long wait times even when you made an appointment ahead of time and they don’t do acrylic nails only dip nails which break easily which is fine but every other nail place replaces nails for free if they break within a couple days of getting them done however this place still charges for a repair that was their fault for not doing it properly in the first place.
Pretty on Park is my go to spot for mani pedis - clean, welcoming and the powder dip lasts for a solid month ! They are also very kind and accommodating !
I went to pretty on park twice. The first time was just for a pedicure with 3 friends around Christmas time. It was very pretty in the salon and the people very nice. They even gave us all a 5 dollar Christmas gift to use for the next time they came back. SUPER NICE!! They did a pretty good job and had very very comfy chairs. The only problem was that it was a bit pricey. Over all for the Pedicures Id give them a 4.I came here again two months later but this time was for a french tip manicure. AWFUL! The first time around they refused to do pink tips and instead did their variation on one. They looked like a cloudy distorted mess! So bad my friends said I had to complain because I couldnt be seen in public with them. I asked to talk to the manager and he apologized and said they did look awful and would take them off completely and redo them himself. He did this and they looked much better. It still wasnt what I wanted and in total ended up being at the nail salon for 4 hours. The manager went the step further and even went next door to the restaurant and bought me a dinner to go.Because the manager was so accommodating and they do a good job on pedicures I recommend this nail salon for pedicures and REGULAR manicures but not anything more!
Terrible service had me wait 45 mins and kept telling 5mins over and over and that 5 mins never came.
Friendly and do an amazing job.
Poor timing and they werent sanitizing from client to client! Ive never had such bad nails for 75 i paid for a full set. I will not be back. Terrible place! I had a appt and everything.
This salon is clean, timely, my pedicures always last and they have great quality products and multiple different pedicure options
They do a great job with gel nails and pedicures that always last a long time. Make an appointment ahead of time but they can usually get you in in 1-2 days. The atmosphere is relaxing and doesnt smell like chemicals. They have a nice selection of nail polishes too
Always prof and fast
Cute and conveinent!!
The guy working on my nails sanded the nail bed down so much they were pink and raw. When I said it hurt, he argued with me saying he was just taking the polish off. He trimmed my nails down to nothing and slathered the gel polish on so thick it burned...and he ignored me when I complained about that. Almost a month later and my nails have still not recovered. Will never step foot in that place again...they are the worst. Used to get good service there and it went downhill very quickly...with my last 2-3 manicures being a struggle.
Higher prices with less quality service. I came here because the regular nail salon that I go to was overbooked. I got gel manicure. The prices were higher here and the nails STARTED CHIPPING after only 3DAYS!!! Needless to say I DO NOT even hand wash my dishes to cause this chipping. By the 5th day ALL my nails were CHIPPED. Interesting enough, another girl had just walked back into the salon stating that the person who was doing my nails at the time, did her nails & they were chipped in 4days! So she came back so they can re-do her nails!! This is the first time this has happened to me. My gel manicure (done at other places) typically last a minimum of 3weeks and sometimes 4weeks. I didn’t go back and would not recommend anyone to this place!
Many pedicure chairs, ample staff for our walk in of three. Very relaxing atmosphere, clean. Had lavendar pedicures. Leg massage was very rejuvenating, when done and sitting drying, they gave shoulder massage. Next time in town we will return
The pedicure was good and my girl was very friendly. However when I requested to have my feet scraped she neglected to tell me it was an extra $10 just to use the foot scraper. $45 what is a $10 tip for that pedicure was too much. My friend got the $35 honey pedicure and her girl did not speak to her nor speak English and was very quickly done. Not very impressive.
I decided to give Pretty on Park another shot after taking a long break. To my surprise they changed management and the place is better than before! Ive been going consistently now for a few months and have received great service every time! Gel manicures last me a solid 3 weeks.
What happened to me should NOT go unknown to the public.I came in for a simple pedicure, choose the Honey Pedicure for $35. After soaking and removing the old polish the tech pointed out that I had calluses (like many people) and if I wanted them removed it would cost $10 dollars more. I approved this reluctantly but knew I wanted to at least have my heels scrubbed with a pummice as it was a holiday weekend and I planned to be outside in sandals for Labor day. The tech went and got a plastic and metal grater that he then proceeded to shave my heels with. He was vigorous and rough with his pressure and as it began to feel tender and he stopped as he could see my wincing and flinching. He finished the pedicure in a hurried fashion, continuing to not say a word to me. Albeit my toes looked nice. I left a tip and went home.Waking up the next morning my heels were raw, red, swollen and tender. By the night of day two the raked skin of my heels had broken and cracked. I have NEVER had cracks in my heels EVER. I had to skip the NYS Fair with my friends because putting on shoes hurt and sandals were not an option because i had open wounds on my feet.I called the shop, asked to speak to management or the owner, the lady took my number and the owner Mark called me back within the hour. I explained my i was upset, injured and wanting at least a refund... though it had at minimum ruined my holiday weekend and left me with open wounds. He agreed so 45 minutes later I showed up to the shop for my refund and had to then face the man who did my pedicure and RE-EXPLAIN my issue. he looked through receipts and transaction history while talking in his language and laughing with others working there. I ultimately got my money back and spent the last two weeks trying to get my heels to heal.Today, two weeks after the incident I STILL CANNOT wear most of my shoes without fear of getting something in the open wounds/cracks (which still bleed on occasion)... or without being in pain. Not only are the grater paddles Illegal in most states the carelessness in which they were used was entirely unacceptable. I have no idea how, long I will have to deal with the cracks (which I had NEVER had before) and tenderness.DO NOT go here!!!!!! They dont care!!!!!
I struggled to try to like this place. I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. The pedicure chairs were uncomfortable and the bathroom was not clean. They cut the cuticles on my nails too far back and they bled. This is 4 days later and they still hurt. I just looked and most of my toes are chipped. In the winter a good pedicure usually lasts me 3-4 weeks. They do offer a cash discount which is nice. I understand that credit card charges hit small businesses hard but their push for cash seems otherwise motivated.
Highly recommend
Nice clean efficient...however I know the are entitled to speak their own language...its still shady...bc I hadnt had a pedi in over a year bc of health issues....Next time just a regular pedi..
I went about two weeks ago this coming Friday (1/27/2017). I called to schedule an appointment for a pedicure and a full set. I arrived and was immediately taken care of picked out my colors and selected the type of pedicure I wanted to receive. I picked the lavender spa pedicure and I believe my techs name was Sam. My pedicure was so amazing and relaxing. I never wanted it to end. Unfortunately I did not have the same experience with my full set of gel nails. They were beautiful for the first week, then started to grow out and eventually popped clean off of my fingers. I never had an experience of a full set of nails doing this ever. I was bummed because I spent a pretty penny. Ill be back for a pedicure for sure, but thats about it.
The worst place to go get your nails done. After i spent $ 120, i was harassed over $20 more dollars for a tip. I will never return back to this ridiculous nail studio. Demanding your client to tip is unacceptable!!
Hair color and highlights better than what I had at the best salons in NYC. Eyelashes that fool the best. Always an amazing manicure and pedicure. The price cant be beat, the staff pleasant and accommodating and impeccable service. Best in Rochester as far as I am concerned and I am a tough critic. The previous post is sooooo WRONG.
Theyre always great. Fair prices, friendly staff, good location 😊
I had a very relaxing and professional pedicure. #2 Laveder. The clippers and other tools were in a sterile pack that was opened at my chair. Music was softly playing and my pedicurist was attentive and skilled. Well worth my time and reasonably priced.
Best pedi I have ever had. She took her time. Very relaxing. My toes look great.
It was my first time here and I dont think Id go back. It seemed like they were trying to upcharge everyone to additional services in a confusing way. Communication was difficult. They treated us like we were criminals when we went to leave and made us stop and wait, even though we had prepaid and pretipped at 20%. Its disconcerting to have people talking, possibly (probably?), about you in another language right in front of you. They were supposed to do a massage with the mani/pedi combo package but my gf never got one and I was asked as an afterthought when I was about to leave. Just seemed shady. The nail jobs were ok but not worth the rest of the experience. Theres many other places to go and Ill go to them instead.
The best pedicure I have had in a very long time. Definitely going back.
The do a nice job on my nails. I have been going here for several years and I am never disappointed.
Great service!
This is a great place. Very professional and superb work.
One of the worst pedicures I have had. They do the absolute bare minimum for their $35 pedi, meaning he brushed my feet lightly three times with the callus stone. When I asked him to be more thorough, he told me it would be $10 more. The pad of the file wasn’t even dirty when he was done. My nail polish chipped the next day. It’s dissapointing because I live so close and would have liked to have a go-to place for manicures and pedicures. The search continues.
I had a wonderful experience here! Had both a mani and pedi and both were great. I would recommend for a reasonably priced spa experience!
My first time here with my cousin on Saturday. The place is beautiful, clean, and organized! We got a mani and pedi. My tech was named Sam and he was absolutely amazing! So sweet and did a great job. Nothing hurt which is very important to me! He gave me two shoulder massages as I waited for my toes then nails to dry. I felt like a princess!
Unfortunately, the polish chips extremely quickly, their painting is usually sloppy, and Ive had my cuticles cut to bleeding on both my hands and feet over the 3 times Ive been here. Its cheap to go here, but Id rather put my money toward better quality elsewhere.
To the bad reviews: The technicians here do a good job when they have the time to do so. If you do not call ahead for an appointment, you will absolutely be greeted with a wait time as they are usually busy. They try to fit in as many customers as possible and if they have an extra 30 minutes before the next appointment, they will do your nails in 30mins. If you do not want a rushed experience, take 2 minutes out of your day and call ahead.Im giving 5 stars because the staff is polite, accommodating, knowledgeable, thorough and friendly. Ive been going here for gel manicures/full sets/ANC powder/pedicures and massages for 3 years and Ive never had a bad experience! Gel manicures last me WEEKS, you get a shoulder massage as your nails dry, and the Groupon is a steal!
I always get good service there.
My lady wanted to go for a pedi and chose this place at first they told her no she couldnt get them done and then another lady came in and they did hers so then they did my ladys nails, they were very rude and talking about my beautiful lady in front of her and then they over charged her 60 dollars to get a pedi, the owner is scum I dont recommend this place to anybody. There are better shops in park ave PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS PLACE YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF
Excellent service! Friendly, clean, professional. One of the best pedicures. Repeat business coming.
This place is wonderful! It is an amazing bargain.
Best Pedi Ive gotten. Firm but very gentle. Nothing hurt or was tender.
The place is nice, sanitized and the wait isnt that long but their work is not good at all.
Lily is the best nail tech, ever! So glad I found this wonderful place. Alice Proia
Nice atmosphere but very long time for a full set
I had a nice experience up until the very end of the service. I went with a friend and we received pedicures. The experience of the pedicure was delightful but I was sadden with the process of tipping. I wasnt until the end of the procedure, when I went to let my feet dry, that there was a LITTLE hand written note on the counter of the drying area that cash tips please. Little did I know... this is the ONLY way you can tip. But no one explained why... If I had known that upon arrival then I would have ran quickly back to the car and grabbed cash. Plus the guy made my friend move her car from whatever lot she had parked in and park in the street.. after she was just telling me she loved that place because of the free parking. So I cashed out, left my tip on the TIP LINE, and continued to dry. The gentleman came back and was like tip, cash, no tip? I responded with Im sorry I didnt know, cant you just process the tip through? Ill bring cash next time And he walked away. We continued to dry. My friend had left a tip on her card as well and her pedicurist approached her the same way. Then as we were getting ready to leave... a woman came over to apply a fast dry coat and was like.. tip? You leave tip?? She points us to an ATM. And we start getting frustrated. We have pedi sandals on... nice new feet and now they want us to use the ATM, that will cost a fee, and tip them, without EVER explaining why they cant run our card through. Now I know from working in the service industry that no one likes claiming more money than they have to. Cash tip is untraceable. And some places wont let you claim the credit card tip until they get their commissioned paycheck. So it seems to me, that this company doesnt want to pay that tax amount on tips, which is understandable but hassling people for cash tip, after we have clearly written the amount on the carD and it was already ran through as the base price. (Checked my account). Now after was all said and done, my friend took $20 out of the ATM and spent an additional $2 on the fee. We decreased our tip in the end and you could hear the salon workers speak in their language with disgust, it seemed, about us before we even left the shop.I would have never had a problem if someone had just explained why cash was only accepted or if they had said ok to my response of Ill bring cash next time. The service was delightful and the salon is beautiful. It was until the collection of money that this whole thing went to poop. I felt bad decreasing a tip and I almost left without leaving one at all. But no customer should be haggled to use an ATM for a cash tip, who only knows who gets the ATM fee in their favor, when a debit/ credit card could be processed. Plus no actual reason was given on the cash only way.Sorry you want to cheat the system, in my opinion, but because how poorly I was treated in the end, I dont recommend this place. And since Im in the beauty business myself, I wont be going back. Its a negative customer service experience that will stick with me. Its a shame.
Just ok. I am hard of hearing and felt rushed. They did not do a terrible job but the nail girls here before were more skilled.
My Place... my go to!!! So clean, so niccccccceeeeeee... so accomodatingMy girl is Candy...I love her to pieces!!!
Today is May 26th,2018 and I came for a mani and pedi and as he began he never spoke to me he was rushing me. Then started laughing when I asked him a question and got upset and stood up. I then said can you clean undermy toe nails and he was very upset it was like an incomplete pedicure For park ave they have terrible customer service
Ive been twice 1st time was excellent. I got a gel mani by a gentleman. 2nd time I got a gel mani and honey spa pedi by a young woman. It was all mediocre. I. Going to five them 1 more try and ask for a different nail tech.
This is a hidden gem! The basic mani/pedi options are pretty thorough, with excellent prices. The atmosphere is relaxing, everything is spotlessly clean...I will totally go here again, and this from a pedicure noob!
Greetings!New business, new look, new services, new staff, new equipment!Come in and check out the new Pretty on park!
Different type of manicure when you add the message, nice people too
Witnessed a staff member talking about me basically right in front of me. I have always tipped well and there is absolutely no reason for that. Very unprofessional.
Nice place good prices
Friendly great service and prices
I hardly ever write reviews, but I feel compelled to now after my experience. You would think this salon being on Park Ave is upscale and lovely, but dont let the location fool you. This place on the inside looks outdated and kind of dirty. This place also is not an exclusive Aveda Salon (its not on the Aveda website and customer service told me it was a family Aveda salon meaning they dont just use Aveda products). I went in for a basic pedicure and manicure, and left unhappy and annoyed. The girl that did my nails made me uncomfortable while doing my pedi, then even cut me and drew blood when she was cutting my cuticle on my thumb! I was not too thrilled. It took the girl over two hours to do my hands and feet. To make it worse the owner had to finish me up and fixed my hands and feet. I can see why it was so easy to get an appointment and why it was empty when I went there! Overall do not go here if you are looking for a true Aveda salon and the whole experience that Aveda has to offer you.
Went here when they were first opening, they didn’t have many customers at all, so they were pretty much taking whatever they could get. Now that they have picked up they are very “selective” with who they service. I went there today to service and there was a person in front of me checking in. They quoted them a 15 minutes wait. Then it was my turn, before I could even step up to the counter another technician is yelling at me from 3 seats down saying “we are all booked, come back later”. I explained to her that the individuals in front of me were just quoted a 15min wait by the last at the counter. She continued to tell me to come back later. Very unprofessional and clearly are liars. I was so embarrassed as the technician yelled down across the shop for everyone to hear. I would never go back to this place EVER!
I was rudely rushed to have my services finished, and now a week later both my toe and finger nail polish is chipped off. If I wanted chipped nails I would have saved the 50 bucks and did it myself.
Very disappointed, i got a pedicure and I was waiting to get my ANC powder manicure done. The nail artist went on to do something else I waited for 15 minutes while she was getting towels ready . . I finally decided to leave . . They were very rude and unprofessional
Lady that did my pedicure is very weird. Can’t speak English! Had to tell her many times i don’t like how you did that do it again. PLEASE GOT ATTITUDE
My nails were done poorly, the paint did not look good, my cuticles were not cut. The water was cold.
Amazing now jobs
Wife enjoyed herself
Love this place
Love it.
Product doesnt last long
Good
